Thread QUAKE available on Xbox One/Series (Game Pass), PS4, Switch, PC (Remastered visuals | OLD + NEW DLCs + Quake 64 & Local/Online MP w/crossplay | $9,99)
So last year I did a Quake marathon, and played through the base game, the expansions, and Arcane Dimensions. I used Quakespasm, and don't judge, played on my TV using a controller, which was quite a bit nicer to play than you may imagine. This does feel noticeably more "floaty" to control than that method on console, at least to my memory, though so far it's still an incredibly appealing package. The new models seem nice, and are only a smallish upgrade over the originals. I'll probably play without them after my first play, but nice for an option. They don't feel out of place. Just my initial thoughts after a couple of levels.

Thread Does anyone else think the PS5 interface is a huge downgrade versus the PS4?
I wouldn't say a huge downgrade as there are a few things I prefer, but they should have really tried to improve things across the board. Often, it feels like change just for changes sake. Some changes are straight up for the worse though, like the trophy menu, and it oddly being like one or two too many clicks to send a message. I mean, it's fine, ultimately, and I imagine it'll improve over time.

Thread Waypoint |OT| Obviously I’m super into all things gaming
First off, the post that received a warning, we agree, it should have been a ban. That has been corrected. Just to clarify though, the post was not a death threat against journalists, but a joke in bad taste about the podcast ending: still, it was overly graphic and vitriolic, and was deserving of a ban. As for Nora, she specifically lumped all liberals into one corner and all minorities into another, speaking for and over a number of marginalized posters who disagreed with her. It was also an inflammatory statement from a poster with a history of inflammatory statements. We work to give room to posters from marginalized backgrounds so they have space to express concerns and share their own experiences, but all posters are subject to the same rules. If you make inflammatory statements that violate our posting guidelines, you can still receive a ban for them, especially if you're aiming yourself at other people from marginalized groups. If you then send in contact us messages further heaping on inflammatory abuse, that ban gets extended, if not made permanent. The fact that one of those emails even had her using a fake name and email pretty clearly demonstrates that Nora is aware that her behaviour was unacceptable and decided to go through with it anyway. For Terra, we're taking another look at the ban. Typical procedure is to extend ban durations for people whose accounts are still in the junior phase, thus the 2 week duration. Their accusation that those members from marginalized groups who took offence to things the Waypoint crew said are being "GG adjacent" was inflammatory enough to earn them a 1 week ban normally, and a 2 week ban due to their account status. But we are of course open to an appeal.

Thread Waypoint |OT| Obviously I’m super into all things gaming
Nora wasn't banned for contesting a ban. Nora was already in our review process for a previous violation of our posting guidelines, and the further abusive and inflammatory emails she has sent in resulted in a permanent ban of her account. This was a continued violation of our ToS, and is something we clearly lay out in our General Guide. We are volunteers, we're here, we read your concerns, and are happy to work towards solutions, and yes we can be slow moving, but we are not required to take abuse from our member base.

Thread Donald Trump Has Been Shitting His Pants For Decades
There are a multitude of medical reasons why someone might need to wear an adult diaper. For some they've gotten old and just lost the control we all take for granted, others have bowl conditions that cause them to lose control during random moments throughout the day. The image of Trump as a big baby is comical given his actions and general demeanour, but making fun of him for the act of needing adult diapers also unfairly paints a target on those with legitimate medical conditions or age related issues. So we'd like to ask everyone to be considerate towards those who are suffering from such conditions and issues.

UV+, also called UV-Fast, is Ultra Violence balancing but with Nightmare monster and projectile speeds. For this release it is also using the multiplayer map item and weapon spawns. It's just a tougher, faster experience, without some of the drawbacks of Nightmare. I always find the respawning monsters in Nightmare to be such a slog. I think it is the most fun way to play Doom 1 and 2. I would recommend everyone here check it out, at least for Knee Deep in the Dead. I wouldn't use it for some WADs though, or Plutonia.

Thread Digital Foundry - Ion Fury - Every Console Tested - How An Ancient Engine Stresses Current-Gen CPUs
The issue with this has never been just that "joke". That is just a common line of discussion to try to downplay what happened. It's that the developers used the platform and audience gained by their game to promote transphobic and hateful bigoted messages. There is also a slur within the game itself, and then the developers hiding behind the censorship argument, when combating and removing bigotry that doesn't change the message of the art isn't censorship. You're right that they would have gotten a lot of bullshit from trolls and harassers, and that is something to consider both for John and DF, but being an ally to LGBTQ+ and marginalized folks is the right thing to do, though it can take courage. It is perfectly reasonable that people have been making the arguments that they have, and requesting something as simple as a disclaimer. It's actually quite standard ("The views expressed by..."). Now it may not be John, or even DF's choice, but that doesn't invalidate the argument, nor free DF from criticism from promoting said content.

There are lots of games I play for my mental health. My current favs are Tetris Effect and Mario Maker 2. I can relax, clear my mind, and just focus on the game. There is no narrative to pay attention to, nothing to be emotionally challenged by. It's just a gameplay experience where I know what to expect.Absolutely. Mediation, or just good mindfulness practices, can be hugely helpful. I actually play Dear Esther a lot and treat it like a meditative exercise. We are actively banning people engaging in vote shaming (please remember that it may take sometime for posts to be actioned, the staff deal with a very heavy workload), having meetings and daily discussions on how better to handle a difficult situation where we need to take into account the perspectives, intersectional complexities, and pain of minorities and sexual assault victims, and find a way to improve policy and navigate this in the best way we can for everyone. In regards to the ban being questioned, that user was parroting common phrasing used against Bernie, and is a user that has expressed having no interest in voting for the person they claimed to. It was read as trolling, which is something we're trying to keep to a minimum. If they feel this was done in error, they can appeal the ban, and we'll review it. Thread DOOM 64 |OT| No Absolution
Finished my second play through yesterday and got the last trophy I needed. Really glad there aren't any silly trophies in this like the recent Doom 1 and 2 releases. Absolutely loved my time with it, honestly probably a little more than Eternal.I had this happen too, just last night. I was playing for a few levels, but not excessively quicksaving. When it did happen, interestingly, I died on a raising platform. Though the other levels people mentioned I don't think have them, so perhaps nothing to do with it. It was such a minor issue though, a quick restart and everything was fine, but I know as a developer it might drive me a bit nuts. Cheers! edit: It was Map 23, Unholy Temple, that it happened to me, in the red door area (the raising platforms to come back to the entrance if you fall into the damage floor). I'd played probably 6 levels or so in a row, making a few quicksaves in each level. All of a sudden after I died, I couldn't quickload, and my save and load lists were empty. A quick restart of the game and everything was fine.

There are many angles we consider, including being sensitive to survivors. Don't take your anger and frustration out on a group of volunteers who work extremely hard under tight deadlines in tense and difficult situations and subjects. People who donate their time doing this in between working their careers, spending time with their families, loved ones, and trying to have some sort of life outside this website. They are very far from it, a lot of the music in here has strayed pretty far from goth really, even in the OP, i just think people who were goth or enjoyed goth music are sharing other music they enjoyed too as a bit of nostalgia, as goth as a genre is really a bit limited but has heavy influence in many other places.

Yes, Trent was inspired, he was accused of ripping off Skinny Puppy's Dig it with his song Down in it, and even used samples from it, Trent later said he was influenced by it (). When Skinny Puppy signed with American records in '93 there was pressure from the label to make their sound more like NIN and commercial, which of course was met with heavy push back from Skinny Puppy which lead to turmoil within, Nivek Ogre walking away from the project (after recording some vocals though), which then contributed to the uneasy state and unfortunate overdose and death of Dwayne Goettel, and the bands breakup. Though cEven Key was still able to finish off the album, titled The Process, and honestly despite quite disliking it back in the day and it being very different, I've grown rather fond of it over the years. So, there may be some bad blood there, and that could have even been playfully expressed in Nivek Ogre's first music video from his ohGr solo project for the song Cracker. If you notice, Trent Reznor and his march of (the) pigs kind of shits all over the protagonist of this video. Great tune though, and a great video, and totally worth checking out .

I think it is quite the opposite, given the huge amount of trouble that both Prey 1 (2006) and 2 encountered during production. There is also a Daikatana book there, and I'm sure that isn't being teased (though I do have a soft spot for that game). It is just games that the original id employees went on to help develop. I was really hoping for a rune that allowed your dash to let you phase through enemies. For the Marauder, as I'm sure most of us are aware, it is all about controlling his spacing to you. Get in that medium range to bait him to lunge, and watch for the signals. Don't let him get too far or too close. I do think the Super Shotgun is what is most effective against him. Though I've only fought him a few times, that is what works very well for me.

I'll give that some more practice, thank you. He hasn't given me too much trouble, at least on UV. His health pool seems fairly low. Just have to make those openings count. You can definitely just go into Eternal, but I think it would be more enjoyable having played 2016 first, which is also excellent (and super cheap). There are a couple of story beats that come from 2016, but most are new for this entry. This one really expands the lore.

Another "lost" id game is the N64 version of Quake 2, which had a unique set of levels, but ran on a modified version of the Quake 1 engine (IIRC). It is very intentional. The story isn't meant to get in the way in these games, but there is deeper lore if you want to get into that. There actually are a lot of cutscenes that provide context, even if slightly vague at times. I think for what these games want to prioritize and focus on, they absolutely do their job, and strike a very good balance.

A big philosophy with these games is to always be pushing the player forward. You're not supposed to retreat to gather health or ammo, or need to scourge around, you're meant to keep on the offensive. Now this isn't going to be for everyone, of course, but it is exhilarating, and they have designed it really quite well.

For everyone playing this for the first time, I really recommend taking it slow, exploring, and trying to find all the secrets. This game isn't like the previous entries, there are more rewarding benefits.Doom 64 is definitely made with compromises for a small cart space, but that Super Shotgun is still real meaty. Especially with some damn nice sprite work. I find it incredibly satisfying to use on some enemies.Very solid port, easily worth the price.

Thread DOOM 64 |OT| No Absolution
This is a very good port, and I'm thrilled this game is finally having its moment. It is a shame that there is no quick weapon select using the d-pad however. Adding that to the recent Doom 1 and 2 ports was so essential (I know this is a different studio), though the PS3 Doom Classic Complete still has the best implementation. It does hold this version back from playing as good as it could, especially on the harder difficulties. If this receives an update, I hope this is added, even if it is just option to manually bind the weapons. The game does have quicksave, you just have to manually bind it. I use R3 for qucksave and L3 for quickload. There is no confirmation prompt on the load, so you just have to be thoughtful when using it. Manually save at the start of every level in case of making a mistake. The other ports version of quicksave/load would be ideal, but this definitely works, and I'm really glad it is there.

You can, yes. Though I think this is best played after having some experience with the original two Doom games. This throws a little more at you early on in the game, and also tries to surprise and trick the player a little more. It builds off what was established and expected from the first two games. That doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable as an entry point however, but if you have the option of playing the prior games before it, I'd recommend it. They're all excellent.I would also like it if the when holding down the run button, it increased your turning speed. Though some players might not like that, I find it really useful for games without freelook. Really though, it is very nice to have a solid port, and Nightdive have continued their outstanding work. Just a few nitpicks and hopefuls.

You can find elements where Battlefront 1 beats its sequel, but when taking in everything the sequel offers, even just visually, everything going on in a map, the scale, the visual variety, it really is the better looking game. Yes, that is something we have and do discuss. There are ups and downs to all solutions, but we feel that being able to offer informal peer support to a member in crisis is an important thing to do as a community, especially as times are hard for many right now, and we don't all have access to the same support systems and resources. If a user is in crisis, the first thing we do is try to connect them with professional services during those difficult moments, but informal peer support can do a lot of good in the meantime. We will, at times, lock the thread once we know the user is in a safer place. Though there are times we may leave it open if we feel the user in question may quickly need to return to it, or there is a lot of positivity and support that may be crucial.

I wouldn't call it either. I'd say that it's a better than expected budget release, and it has some pretty large flaws. I think the OP is overselling it quite a bit, though it may be accurate to their experience with the game. The narrative, characters, game structure, and some gameplay systems have some mild to serious issues, but the team did do a lot with a little, and really capture the atmosphere for Terminator. Far better than expected. I think with titles like this it is really important not to oversell them, as you'll likely end up with a lot of disappointed people, but rather try to highlight the strengths, and let the game surprise. This game can be a pleasant surprise to the right fan of this franchise, but I wouldn't call it anything more than that.

Finished Plutonia on UV, which I'm a little proud of. I don't think I've ever finished it on UV before, and certainly not on console. The last time I played through it was the PS3 Doom Classic Complete release, but I did that on HMP. I did however cheat on one level, but it was the second secret level. I told myself that if I was going to do them, I'd allow myself to use the give ammo cheat to get through it if I got stuck, which I had to do to get the blue key. I don't mind too much since it's a borderline slaughter map. I did run into a few glitches during the Plutonia run that I'd not encountered during the base game, TNT, or Sigil. There was quite a bit of sprite flicking on the monster sprites during one of the more chaotic battles of Go 2 It, and the final 5 or so level names just appeared as "Test" during the level transitions, but the names came up just fine on the map screen. It was some of the most fun I've had playing Doom in quite some time. I really am very fond of Plutonia, and it wasn't too tough. Really the only map that really gave me a bit of a worry was the ending to map 12, Speed, where it probably took me a good 20-30 attempts or so for just the final room, and I do feel I got a bit lucky in the end. Everything else was relatively smooth sailing, and I am really glad that I have Odyssey of Noises memorized these days. Bit of a shame this version doesn't have leaderboards like the last gen versions. Looking forward to what they add next to these releases. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long.

I don't just like Plutonia because it is challenging, I like it because it has some interesting and quite smartly designed maps that feel very different from the base Doom and Doom 2 maps. There is one Plutonia map that I'm not fond of, but there are many, many highlights.

Glad you ended up enjoying it! I really like the first two levels of Thy Flesh, I just think they're kind of poor intro levels, and I find the quality of the levels afterwards to be really inconsistent, and the difficulty curve practically doesn't exist. I have a lot of issues with it, but there are moments I enjoy. Maps 1, 2, and 6 especially. Plutonia is really fantastic, but it is tough. I'd recommend playing through it, even if you have to drop the difficulty down quite a bit. It is arguably the best of the officially released level sets. TNT can be fun, and there are no outright bad maps, but it's a bit bland and can be boring. It does has really great secret levels. Plutonia is all about smaller and really tightly designed maps that will challenge you. I just love it, and it still challenges me even though I can just about fly through everything else on UV.

I was thinking of doing that, but I couldn't imagine doing a Perfect Hatred pistol start. Might just do the OG Doom 1 episodes. Best of luck with the rest of your run. I'd love to hear how it goes! One thing i'd really love is getting an Ultra-Violence fast monsters option for these versions. Giving us the ability to customize the difficulty like in Blood: Fresh Supply would be just fantastic. I really like doing Doom challenge runs, and I really like fast monsters, but find Nightmare to just be a bit of a slog.

I've really been having a lot of fun with this. I've finished all of Ultimate Doom on UV, which while not an amazing feat, Thy Flesh can be a real challenge at times on a controller. I've played through Sigil twice, once on HMP, and once on UV, and am currently about halfway through TNT on UV (just on the first secret level). I would have done Doom 2/No Rest for the Living first, but I actually have not bought the Doom 2 pack yet. Will pick it up next week.Honestly, the first two maps are the good levels from Thy Flesh. Map 6 is pretty great too.

Doom 2 is really fantastic. There are a couple levels I don't care for, especially one gimmick level, but its strengths far outweigh its weaknesses, and things like the super shotgun, and far larger enemy roster, really flesh out the game and combat. It has a very different design philosophy when it comes to maps and combat encounters, which really helps it stand apart. Important to remember that episode 4 of Doom 1, Thy Flesh Consumed, was released after Doom 2, which is partly why it feels so different.

Thread How are you supposed to find secrets on OG Doom?
There are a few different ways to trigger secrets, and the game uses a few different tricks to clue you into where they may be. You're right to look for different coloured walls or misaligned textured (though sometimes, that is just a mistake), but the other big one is to listen for sound cues, as activating something, or even just moving over certain triggers, may change something in the environment. A lot of the secrets in Doom are fairly intuitive, few feel like they are just randomly placed. There will generally be some sort of clue. One even has an arrow pointing to it if you look at the map, for example. Some secrets are also activated by shooting.

I think they're all worth playing. If you want to skip Thy Flesh, you can move on to Sigil or go to to Doom 2. Sigil being the most recently released, having just come out last year, takes a very different approach, but it is a Doom 1 expansion and I think much better than Inferno or Thy Flesh. After Doom 2 you should do No Rest for the Living, then TNT: Evilution, then Plutonia. This will give you the best difficulty curve, though Evilution has a bit of a mixed reception, so if you get bored, feel free to move on to Plutonia, which is excellent, but also the hardest of the Doom 2 expansions. Feel free to throw in Master levels somewhere in there as it's more like a set of individual levels rather than a campaign. At least that is my advice of how to approach all of this.

It's probably pretty low on my list, but it has been ages since I've played it. If we wanna be a bit cheeky and do a little ranking of the officially (semi-official?) released episodes/map packs? I'd probably do: No Rest for the Living = Plutonia = Sigil = Knee Deep in the Dead > Doom 2 > Shores of Hell > TNT: Evilution > Master Levels for Doom 2 > Inferno > Thy Flesh Consumed (like two maps that I love, and a really uneven progression/difficulty curse) Like I said, it has been a while since I've played some of these, so my list may change quite a bit, but I plan on playing through all of them again with these releases. I'm just currently held up on playing through the incredible , and then it'll be back to Doom.

Plutonia is very good and definitely worth a play. The last time I played through it was on the PS3 Doom Classic Complete release and found HMP to be really enjoyable on console. I wouldn't want to attempt UV Plutonia on a controller (not that I think playing on a controller is a bad way to play Doom, i'd just have some slight limits when I do). If you were put off by the difficulty, try dropping it until you find something you're comfortable with. If you can find a rhythm for the first few maps, you'll be good to go. There is really only one map in the whole lot that I dislike, and it might be my favourite officially released level set.

No, not at all. The timing is just quite coincidental and its playing on peoples hopes, mine included. I'd love a follow up to Bloodborne myself, as i always found the first to never quite be fully realized. Give us an actual beast transformation mechanic, give us the real Byrgenwerth. Though, i would also just love a spiritual follow up with a completely different setting. We know that From have 3 games in development from last years interview with with one being a dark fantasy action role-playing game and with Dark Souls seemingly on hiatus its likely to be a follow-up to Bloodborne (sequel or spiritual successor), especially with the rumoured publishing deal with Sony, at least i don't see that as being as far-fetched as some would imply.

They do have some unique bosses and enemies within them and some occasionally nice visual designs but they're also a bit samey and dull. If you space them out while going through the main adventure it can really expand the playthrough time nicely, if you just save them all as a lump to go through at the end it'll be a lot more unpleasant, which i think is what most players did, sadly. A good idea, but not particularly well executed. EDIT: id recommend using a guide and playing through to see all the unique bosses, it'll likely get you the platinum too if you care about such things.

If you work in video games journalism, you have X amount of time to produce Y content, and generally for a shit salary. That doesn't excuse journalistic integrity, but for something as trivial as a leaked games listing, I'm really not going to be put off by it. Now for as trivial as this is, I'm far more questionable of the motivations behind the people who did this, and some claims they've made (they are rather broad, though perhaps a translation issue). As to me, all I see is this fuelling the people who want to denounce today's games press because they dared to start occasionally discussing social and minority issues while covering gaming.

Chainsaw sound effect is bugged. I do have an increasing list of nitpicks with this, but I am nearing the end of Sigil and it's still been a great way to play it, and this a solid port. Hopefully we'll see another patch to clear out these minor issues. One frustration is that it seems that you only get 5 save slots and 1 quick save slot for all the games in that release, which while manageable, seems needlessly restrictive. Honestly my one big this is that they add the BFG to the second d-pad button press after the plasma gun, or even map it to square (or its equivalent). Not to oversell it, but I do love No Rest for the Living. Hope you enjoy it!

I've actually replayed AC2 over the last few weeks with the intent of playing Brotherhood and Revelations, as I never played the latter two. I didn't enjoy AC2 as much as when it came out, found it a bit frustrating, especially towards the end game, but I am enjoying Brotherhood more than I expected. Definitely a good time to catch up the entries we've missed. I'd like to play Rogue as well, which I did actually buy on the 360, but never got around to playing.

Thread Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker |OT| Revenge of a Sith (SPOILERS NOW OPEN)
It might have been, but Luke does say that Ben is haunted by visions of his father in TLJ. I think this was building on that, and why it felt like more of a repeat of what happened before rather than a new conversation, like could happen with a force ghost. I thought Ford gave one of his better performances in Star Wars for that scene too.

I don't think that is weird at all, I'm glad I watched it. I think it's a pretty flawed movie, but I criticize it because I love Star Wars, not because I hate it. I really like a lot of the characters and themes of this franchise, I just think there is a lot of wasted potential in the sequel trilogy. I'll still watch them plenty of times throughout my life.I really can't believe they did planetary annihilation weapons .

That's actually what I thought they were going to do. Not that Rey would have been born from an immaculate birth, but that she would have been no one, just a vessel of the Force with the power to challenge a new threat and right the wrongs in the galaxy. Ben was the connection to the Solo and Skywalker line, and his redemption arc could have been him rebuilding the Jedi and creating a new temple to train them, instead of whatever we got in this film - it certainly wasn't a redemption. Ben being a connection to the past, and Rey a connection to the future stories of the franchise. A new start.

I disagree on the lightsaber catch. I think that matches his character arc in TLJ and was one of the nicer nods to it. This film doesn't disregard everything from TLJ, but it does with a lot of its major theme and plot points.

While Finn was learning and reflecting on being force sensitive, I don't think that is what he wanted to tell Rey. It seemed like he wanted to confess his feelings, and was a plot thread through the three films. He wouldn't say "Hey Rey, I'm force sensitive" moments before they were sucked into the sand thinking they were likely dead. He would have told her he loved her, in what he thought were possibly their final moments together.

Thread Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker |OT| Revenge of a Sith (SPOILERS NOW OPEN)
I thought maybe even just as a bit of a dumb popcorn flick with way too much fan service that it'd still be fun, but it really wasn't. I don't know if I've seen a film use so many deus ex machina before. So little of the plot felt like it organically moved forward, none of the big reveals or moments landed, or just came off tepid, laughable even. The films structure is really weak. Also, that kiss at the end, like fuck off, that fellow was her abuser. Movie was just all around quite bad. The score was nice, a few too many OT beats, but was a nice positive, and I think the cast really gave it their best. I think those are really the only positive things I can say. I'm sure down the road i'll still be able to watch it and have a degree of fun with it, like I can Revenge of the Sith, but it was easily the weakest of the sequel trilogy, and just an overall weak film.

Hello ibrahima, thanks for raising this question. The point of the Verified member program is so that users can more easily know who industry professionals are, and identify those who may have information relevant to the conversation. However, privacy is also a concern, so we allow these folk to choose how specific their custom tag is. So, while we want people to know that these members can be trusted to have an informed perspective on certain topics, we do have to think about their own privacy and comfort.

I'm still in bed, but just want to clarify a few things here. We have an appeals process. We don't mention the member of the staff member responsible for a ban, because no sole staff member is ever responsible. No one is banned by a moderator, but by the moderation team. The staff work together as a team, on most everything. You can mention the name of those sites, most users just find it uncouth to do so and choose not to. Most of this has always been publicly documented under our General Guide to ResetEra, which is always available, through the announcements, or at the bottom of every page, through the FAQ link.

Thread Retro inspired FPS games (Dusk, Ion Fury, etc) are some of the best games on the market right now
I've really loved some of these title and have dedicated quite a bit of time this year to playing them. Amid Evil has not only been my favourite of the retro inspired shooters, but one of my favourites of all time. Just incredible level design, weapons, variety, and atmosphere. Absolutely just hits all the right notes for me. I think Dusk has slightly tighter game play, but otherwise I prefer Amid Evil. Even just some of these remasters have been excellent, I just got the last achievement in Blood: Fresh Supply which was some of the most fun I've had all year, and am currently working through Forsaken Remastered (this is a bit of a treat since it contains content from the PC/PS1 and N64 versions). I will say I ultimately found Ion Fury to be pretty bland, despite being initially quite excited by the first few levels. Speaking about it outside the disappointing controversy, I think it has some really weak enemy designs, somewhat dull levels (though great secrets) with just too repetitive aesthetics, and just never expands past its early concepts. I don't dislike it, but it's my least favourite of the main build engine shooters, and by quite a bit. I've seen Hedon be mentioned here and I'd also recommend it. I think it's sadly not gotten the recognition it deserves. Much closer to Strife or Hexen, but with far more intuitive level design than either, surprisingly strong world building, and some very memorable moments. One of my favourite games of this year. It does have a few things that I find a bit tacky, like the old trope of finding images of sexy pin-ups in some secrets (and they're so overly sexualized that there is really nothing sexy about it, it's really just shitty pandering and knocks the whole package down a bit for me), but overall, a great game. Nightmare Reaper is still early on in development, but I've had quite a bit of fun playing it. Performance isn't quite where it needs to be at the moment, but it is seeing improvement. I'm usually not one for rouge-lite games, but this one won me over and I'm glad I picked up the EA version. Really excited for Wrath: Aeon of Ruin.Overload was a lot of fun. Also a fairly strong console port on PS4 and Xbox One. I've yet to check out Project Warlock, seems there is a demo.
