ThreadSenate Judiciary Committee hearing - Ford & Kavanaugh testimony - 9/27 at 10am ET
Kavanaugh is explicit in the fact that he is gling to be nothing but a rubber stamp on Republican policies & an automatic No on vote on Democrat initiatives.
You cannot simply take an L on a blatantly partisan hack.

I enjoyed this show. It felt good to be back in a world very similar to that of A:TLA. I'm in for the nostalgia.
Also: Is there any confirmation anywhere that this is one season split into two?
ThreadTexas Board of Education removes Hillary Clinton from history curriculum and...
There has been an active conservative Christian influence on the Texas school board since the early 90s. It’s been reported on by the national press since the 1990s.
There were protests against the school board’s changes in 2010.
They were ineffective.
As noted in the article from 1998 - the conservative Christian coalition is not interested in other opinions. Protests won’t change their mind.

More notes of catastrophe:
Chris Ash: "We couldn't run the ball today."
Me: Looks at Box Score. Sees that Raheem Blackshear ran for over 100 yards with above 5 YPC. Sorry Coach, I think I need to disagree with that assertion. It seems like we ran the ball just fine today.

Good call. That brief 4 year window burnished our proud tradition. I think we won the Texas Bowl National Championship that year to bring our total number of national championships to 2.
Hi Grigorig,
Can you give me some of the following information:
A. Were you using Firefox immediately before the site went down for maintenance? I ask this to make sure it's not a conflict with another change.
B. What type of device are you using right now?
C. Do you have the screen resolution of the device you are using?
Thanks,
Sirpopopop
(As I'll be away for the next week - you can tag for help as well.)
Yeah, I think I have some theories on why this is occurring, but I need to test them out before posting a response. I'd consider this part of our technical debt.
Thanks for the feedback. I have some awareness of the issues Era has for users with a lower bandwidth.
I would like to get a handle on solving these issues one day, but it might not be the most immediate concern. Yes, I recognize this is limiting, but our resources aren't large enough to get a handle on these issues easily.
This probably isn't the answer you want here, but I appreciate you bringing it up.
If you can get me some new screenshots, that would be much appreciated. I think I see the issue you are alerting me to, but it appears different on my screen, so I am having some issues determining if any fix I apply will fix the issue you are presently facing.
We'll see what I can do to solve the issue. It looks fine when I look at it on Devtools. However, it's clear that looking at your screens that it is not fine in a mobile browser.
I'm fine with getting a screenshot while it is not scrolling. I'm more interested in the behavior where the bottom nav bar is not appearing, then behavior where it is appearing.
Hey Everyone,
As you all know by now, we just released an update to our Day & Night Era themes. Since, we're on a new version, it's time for a new bug report thread. Hence, we're clearing out the old report list, and starting from scratch.
If you find a bug, details like browser, OS, and device can't hurt and are often helpful.
Remember: Please keep in mind that key members of the team are volunteers from the community; feedback should be politely phrased and respectful of the work they've put in. If things get out of hand this thread will have to be locked.
Thanks!

I’ll update the OP of this thread to indicate IE11 support will not be forthcoming, and it is best to stick with legacy. I’ll let Cerium know to update the other thread with that information as well.
Charleston is one of the bedrocks of the revival of the Southern cooking tradition (starting with Husk, expanding out to dozens of other restaurants since there). The one thing you need to do while out there is go out and eat food at the many fine restaurants in the area. I'd start listing names, but the list is rather exhaustive at this point so I'd do some serious research in this regard. Find a restaurant that speaks to you. Also: reservations aren't going to be easy to come by for a lot of these places. I'd start booking them soon.
ThreadProgramming |OT| Functional, Imperative, OOP, Cargo-Cult,... all are welcome!
I've got some front end interviews coming up, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good resources for front end specific interview questions.
I'm not looking for trivia or general algorithm questions per se (plenty of resources for that), I am looking for something focused on front end interview problems.

1. All the time. Why code my own when someone else has a product that does something that works pretty well?
2. Does the RSS feed widget have a Github, or some other code hosting repository? That's often the first place to look for me when trying to discern the complexity of code, or the language used. Regardless, I think there are a few online tutorials on coding RSS feeds in JS that don't seem that complicated. However, as the poster below notes - not much of a reason to bother. You can pull something off npm easy enough to handle this functionality.
ThreadThe Hollow Season 1 - New Animated Series on Netflix
I saw it. It was a good easy watch on Netflix. At times the conflicts between the characters could be repetitive. However, I liked the freaky world they were in & I did enjoy the ending. It was a twist that was an organic fit with the world the show built.

Yeah, the Discord went a little crazy with the shillcoins, but that's been mostly reigned in. If we're being honest, a lot of us played a part in it.
I would say my general advice is: Coins on exchanges like Cryptopia & Kucoin can die. The volume on those exchanges isn't enough to keep something alive once the hype dies down. Coins on Binance from what I've seen, they have their peaks and valleys.

There is the potential for things to get lower. Need that double bottom to hit before we can shoot back up. If BTC gets close to $3k, I’ll put fiat in. Otherwise, I’m waiting.

The SAT values for my holdings (Poly, Ven, ICX, WTC at the same time) were way down so I didn't exit on the second time we failed to break through 12k. I think in terms of $ value I'm not too much worse off than I would have been had I exited at that point.

I was able to click on all of those links and access the information no problem. There's nothing on Reddit about a potential scam and you know at the slightest hint, you'll see something upvoted to the front page.
Binance isn't going to be the initial listing exchange for an obvious ICO scam coin. If it is, we have a lot more problems than Nucleus Vision.

A recent airdrop I joined in that treated me well is Parachute.
It's essentially a platform for airdrops. What they do is partner up with ICOs offering airdrops and link the Parachute community to the currency of choice trying to build up a userbase. Thus, it's a synergistic relationship where more coins will be willing to offer airdrops through Parachute in return for getting the Parachute to engage on the Telegram/Discord and build up that coin's community.
Right now, the main use of the tokens seem to be for the eventual Parachute exchange. Still... for an airdrop token and concept, this is a solid one.

Music coins are fine & all, but it is a fundamentally limited userbase. Getting over that hump is going to take a lot of work. Also: I’m skeptical this coin can draw much hype in the marketplace. It’s too theoretical.

I would be all for such a fork so that folks who want video cards for gaming will be happy, as will folks who want it for crypto mining.

Discord's not all that lively right now either.
I think a lot of people are either turtling on their holdings for now or just got out.
Plus... a lot of people here were in on XRB, and left it on the exchanges. They might be too pissed off at crypto to bother talking about it for now.

Most coins values are measured in BTC.
You are betting that the coin you buy is going to outperform BTC. Your dollar value can go up and down according to BTC's whims if the coin you purchased follows BTC's ebb & flow. In a bull market, you are more likely to find coins breaking out of BTC's ebb & flow than during a bear market like this one.

Though... we probably could have called that since Asia woke up around that time, probably saw the low prices and decided, "Time to buy."

Yeah, it's really unfortunate what happened to NANO.
it's a good dev team, but they made the fatal mistake of trusting a sketchy guy. Now, a lot of the coin's momentum is gone and who knows when it will return.
In other random news - PRL's bounced up quite a lot today. If anyone's still hodling it, good on you!

I'm bullish because it seems likely the U.S. government is going to resist calls to use Tether as a means to outlaw crypto.
Furthermore, the chairman of the agency investigating Tether is the one who is bullish on crypto.
