I tend to agree. The daughter seems awfully entitled to me. Though a question, what is the default inheritance rule when one parent dies in the US? I believe in Germany at least the surviving spouse gets half and all the children then get the other half. Every now and then I will watch a video on speed-running on YouTube and check out some wild world records for assorted games, and it never ceases to amaze me what people achieve. The perseverance, skill, dedication involved are really quite impressive. Just today this video on Bioshock popped up on my timeline and it was thoroughly entertaining and interesting, the narrator brakes down how all the glitches and tricks work and generally gives interesting commentary, also shout-out for their non-sequitur interlude on looking after your own mental health at one random point in the video. Karl Jobst also always has interesting videos on speed-runs, this is one I watched recently. And obviously Hbomberguys video mirrors many of my sentiments on speed-running. So anyone else think speed running is kinda neat and has some cool videos to share?

For the record, I greatly prefer the OG Netflix model of just dumping a season in one go. I want to watch a show at my own leisure when I happen to have time and the desire to do so, not on a weekly schedule. Now I realize many people prefer the weekly drops for hype/discussion/etc reasons... I don't think anyone is suggesting there is, or in particular that breaking up the US is. The political system in this country as is, is broken [I'd argue beyond repair], there is no meaningful representation for vast swathes of the population all over the place at all levels of government (this also includes conservatives in CA fwiw), this does not seem like a sustainable set up. So talking about breaking up this giant land mass into smaller parts seems like a reasonable point of discussion. Obviously this would have to entail that creating these new nations would involve a process of creating a better foundation, new constitution, getting rid of winner takes all, overall bringing the political system into the 21st century. If it just ends up with Texas being stuck with Greg Abbot and a gerrymandered state legislation on the foundation of the same old broken constitution then it would not actually help anyone... This is also where the comparison with the EU is stupid because while also large and very diverse it's not running all of its constituent parts on a beta version of Democracy developed 250 years ago...

Good question. I've had + since inception and been mostly fine with it, I no longer play online so it's kinda moot for me from that perspective. My number one pet peeve is the low number of save slots that PS4 can use, I've been over it for so long that cloud save for PS4 titles basically does nothing for me anymore.. I recently signed up to Now when it was on sale and it's ok, but honestly there's a lot of stuff there that I don't particularly care for. I have no interest in playing PS1/2 era games if I'm honest. But if they added more of the PS3/PS4 first party portfolio to it that's probably the best I am currently hoping for... E.g. I'd love to replay all the resistance games and don't understand why only 3 is on Now...?

I have a Haibike XDURO Love it! Commute with it every day to work and to yoga, sunshine, rain or snow. It's pedal assist, so you still have to pedal, but it just feels as if you always have wind in your back. (not my picture)

Have you actually tried a pedal assist ebike? Because it really is quite magical and fun. as I mentioned above I use mine to commute and got it to take a little load off when cycling to work so I wouldn't be excessively sweaty. And while riding it just feels like you always have wind in your back. I almost always have it on the lowest setting and am still pedaling plenty, unless I am really fighting on-wind or climbing a steep incline then I will crank it up a notch.

I started watching Book of Boba recently and it brought to mind again that imho Star Wars suffers from being a gigantic universe that just feels super small. Almost all events that are depicted in the mainline popular media seems to revolve around a handful of people and places, which always struck me as odd considering how large the universe is always depicted as. That is not to say the occasional nod or Easter egg wouldn't be fun, but Star Wars overall takes it to extremes... Now broadly I enjoy Star Wars well enough, I've watched all the movies, most of the shows, played many of the games etc. [not really dabbled in the EU though]. I recently spoke with an international tax expert in Germany, to clarify exactly these kind of problems. And he said for the most part at least between the US and Germany it's not much of a problem because there are at least somewhat similar/equivalent financial vehicles in Germany that you can argue the German authorities to treat them as. The exception being an HSA, which is likely going to be treated as a regular taxable account. And because you don't get a 1099 for an HSA I will have to keep track of the comings and goings in that account manually... So before I move back to Europe I will definitely simplify my HSA holdings so it's not a couple different ETF but just a company or two.

So... I've recently started playing RDR2 (on PS5). I am now part way through Chapter 2 and mostly enjoying the story and characters, however the gameplay is starting to wear on me. In no particular order I get that most of these complaints can and will be hand waived with "it's more immersive" or "it's more realistic" but I don't necessarily play games for realism, as is these points are just not fun to me and are making playing the game a real slog...
