That seems likely, but it's still bizarre that they would create new trophy lists for since the Collection already has individual trophy lists for both games.

Thread BioShock Remastered Trophies Appear on PSNProfiles, Unrelated to Previous Collection
Ah, that makes more sense. I guess the change just bumped the games up in Sony's system.I think what TheBrokenMan posted is what's really going on, but usually separate trophy lists mean you have to pick those trophies the proper way all over again. AFAIK the only exceptions are cross-save games like Sound Shapes, which have title screen "trophy checks" programmed into each separate version.

Everyone could see from five miles away that the gem system was some dumb shit. Lo and behold. The hatred the game got for the on-disc DLC in 2012 is hilarious in retrospect, though, considering the obscene monetization practices that we've all accepted as part of the business since then.

Thread Are we stuck with clickbait for as long as the internet as we know it is around?
That's not feasible on a large scale. There's only so much 'small money' to go around when it comes to things like this - usually enough to fund small independent publications and newsletters, but never an entire newspaper. Most enterprises would have to rely on big donors (as they do nowadays with big advertisers), which naturally would undermine the credibility of the journalism they produce.

Thread Are we stuck with clickbait for as long as the internet as we know it is around?
You either do clickbait or you fail, unless you're already blessed with a captive and loyal audience. It's not that people click on clickbait trash than they do regular stuff; people don't click on the regular stuff at all. Most of the people doing clickbait shit aren't happy about it; they just have to do what they have to do to keep their jobs and income.

Yeah. Think of how many DS/3DS games will probably never be rereleased officially simply due to their form factor. Thread Automation will probably wreak havoc during U.S job loss
The advance of automation is something that the entire capitalist world will have to face roughly at the same time. The capitalist class around the world is seeing the effect that this pandemic has on production, regardless of who's in the top office where they do their business, and so things will start moving faster everywhere. Besides, capitalism is a shortsighted grift by definition. These problems would all invariably show up at one point or another even if all we had for the past 50 years were reasonable, close to the center governments.

This is petty af But it's also pretty funny, so hey I guess crossing the $10 barrier would impact the game's value perception in a way that CDPR isn't ready for yet. I know I wouldn't recommend TW2 for more than $5 nowadays with how many times it's been discounted below that. I'd love to be the guy who in a few weeks will have to bump the price by $0.01 once the sale is over.

Thread Paper Mario: The Origami King announced for July 17 (RPG battles confirmed)
I was upset by a lot of the decisions made around Pokémon SwSh, even though I ultimately liked the game.I'm probably gonna buy this and play it day 1, so no, I'm not treating it as a "complete write-off". As I just said, it looks cool - something Sticker Star didn't -, even though it's not what I wanted. There's nothing wrong with viewing it as a complete write-off, though, if you came in expecting A and ended up getting B. That's each person's prerogative. Not one person who disliked the announcement in this thread is attempting to shame those who liked it. The opposite is not true.

Thread Paper Mario: The Origami King announced for July 17 (RPG battles confirmed)
Disliking something and being pessimistic or wanting something other than what was shown apparently means you're part of an "obnoxious fanbase" that "should be ignored". I'm not bothered by the people who are happy with this announcement, but a lot of people who are happy with this announcement sure seem bothered by the fact that I'm not. This trend of scrutinizing other people's opinions and expectations in reveal threads really needs to go. The game looks cool, but it's not what I thought of when I heard a "traditional Paper Mario game" was coming. It's a bummer.

If they ever remade Paper Mario, they definitely wouldn't change the characters. I don't think it'll happen, though. How often do they remake Mario games? The M&L remakes seem to only have happened because AlphaDream was already in a rough position. If you need everyone to like the things you like to derive fun out of them, you won't have a lot of fun, yes.

Pete truly is an AI platitude generator, which I guess is the whole point of his candidacy.Your logic is reversing reality entirely. Bernie is the candidate that's offering an actual upheaval of the system, addressing it as it is: something that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. The health care industry doesn't need to improve - it needs to stop being an industry. The others are the ones who are proposing slight modfiications and band-aid policies.

I come from a place where no part of the democratic process is handled on a by-contract basis. The idea of a political campaign paying any money to the folks that manufacture our electronic ballot boxes would be absurd, scandalous. (You should get some, by the way. We use them country-wide and results are tallied almost instantly.) There’s no acceptable level for the perception of conflict of interest in the democratic process. “What’s up with this?”.

Each party has their own system, but most are based on simple voting between all party members, while the rest just appoint a candidate of their own choosing with no voting involved. It's worth mentioning, naturally, that we currently have 33 different political parties here, and not all of them will come up with a candidacy themselves. Interparty alliances are the norm when it comes to the big executive branch roles. The only press coverage the process gets happens after the candidates are announced. It's blatantly undemocratic. It's not silly. Drawing comparisons between different countries and their relative positions on certain issues and in general is essential. The Democratic party may be entirely left if you're only looking at it exclusively through the lens of the two-party system, but that's a very worldview-limiting perspective of things. There’s that, but on the other hand, the anti-war activism really subsided after the Bush years. With things like drone strikes, wars have morphed into things that can easily be ignored. People just accept the “war on terror” as something that’s always gonna be there in the background. I find it hard to be optimistic. Without looking at Wikipedia or something, I’m pretty sure the US is currently engaged in conflicts that I’m not even aware of, and that’s just how it goes now. Extremely cute post. You should be proud. You should start reading up on the Millennium Challenge 2002 as that’s full of great twists, and going from there. Since your country has been salivating over war with Iran for as long as I can remember, there are tons of reading and listening material out there from specialists breaking down what a war like that would actually entail. Which is essentially something that would make Iraq look like a fun walk in the park for both sides, even keeping in mind that no one truly what Iran - a country that has also been preparing for war against the US for decades now - can actually do.

I also think the chances of Biden crumbling continue to grow each time another candidate drops out. People like Buttigieg will eventually to attack Biden to steal voters from them to continue scraping by.I disagree with this on a political level, but we don't even need to get into that - that's not how it's gonna go down simply because of how the primaries are structured. Momentum is too important, and the voting doesn't happen all at once. If there a split within a single ideological group, it'd eventually be resolved with a focus on a single candidate between the two over the course of the voting season. Biden might still take it, of course, but that's definitely not gonna be the reason if it does.

Thread Hillary Clinton visits the Howard Stern show for her first interview
I would argue that Trump’s lack of focus and clear objectives has actually led to a few “less negative” outcomes. Do you remember how, just months ago, it seemed like everyone, even here, was bracing for an inevitable war with Iran? Trump actually ended up cutting ties with some of the more hawkish of his subordinates over that because he clearly just lost interest. Historically speaking, arising conflicts involving the US don’t just get defused like that under a “regular” President. I do believe a Clinton office would’ve eventually let the Kurds behind to die just like the US has done half a dozen times over the past century, even if under different circumstances. And no, I don’t think she would’ve accelerated the immigration conflict like Trump did. I obviously don’t have a mirror that lets me see into an alternative reality, hence why I used the word “potentially” in my original post. The fact that people who presumably were politically aware of the world around them during the Clinton administration, or at least the Obama administration would feel so appalled by an assertion like that is very interesting. “Trump makes the US look bad to its allies” is a concern that no one but Americans have, and a really minor one in terms of global politics. Liberal Democrats are disgustingly bad at foreign affairs, and, yes, often just as bad or even worse than Republicans. The widely-loved JFK is the guy who set in motion a military dictatorship that murdered and persecuted thousands in my country. My grandfather was arrested and had to hide from the government for having Marx in his library because a Democrat didn’t want to give communists leeway in a country in a different hemisphere. That was not the GOP’s doing - well, it would’ve been, were they in power at the time. But so would be Hillary’s.

Thread Hillary Clinton visits the Howard Stern show for her first interview
A 2019 Hillary Clinton interview in which she talks about George W. Bush behind the curtains and whines about Bernie (who campaigned and went above and beyond for her, especially compared to her 2008 shitshow). What a treat.

They're saving that trilogy for the Switch Rare Replay :D :(

Thread The Master Chief Collection not arriving all at once on PC is... kinda cool actually.
After being burned to hell and back with the original MCC launch, I'd much rather have 343i take things slow this time around. I don't think this is "better," though. The ideal scenario is all of them being out at the same time, running well and with working online systems.

Thread Daisuke Ishiwatari : " GG -Strive- is a seperate game from Xrd, I'm not sure we are finished with Rev2, we may add more characters in the future"
This is bizarre. I feel for them, but they brought this on themselves. A franchise like Guilty Gear has no place pulling fan-alienating moves to chase new audiences. Not even Street Fighter can do that.

Thread The PC Builders Thread ("I Need a New PC") v2
Thanks for that! And it's good to hear - feels like there's a light at the end of the tunnel.Mine definitely looks super generic, haha. My sister is in the US right now, so I asked her to pick up the Best Buy Insignia cable catpurrcat suggested above. Hopefully that'll sort things out.

Turning V-Sync on like that did seem to improve things a bit... or maybe it's just placebo, haha. I'm still getting some occasional flickering on Destiny 2, though. I'll continue looking into it. I paid good money for this monitor, damn it, and I will use it properly! Hahaha. I'll double-check if my cable is "certified" later as well. Can't hurt.Did you ever try the Nvidia G-Sync pendulum demo? That's where the flickering was the most intense for me.

Thread Little glimpse in a Day in the Life of a Japanese Game Programmer
I've been to Bamco's previous headquarters in Shinagawa. It was this amazing pyramidal building with an enormous open area inside. This new one seems more run-of-the-mill, which is a bit disappointing, haha.

Thread Four out of five of the likely presidents in 2021 are 70+ years old. Is that okay?
Can't say I care too much about that particular angle when Bernie is the only candidate bringing something new and fresh to the table at 79, while Pete basically just rehashes the same old shit at 37.

Thread Mario Odyssey‘s “Snow World” is seriously underwhelming and not cozy at all :(
Off the top of my head, I really can't think of a worse world than the snow one. I really liked the racing minigame in there, but the entire thing feels undercooked and unremarkable.
