ThreadUS PoliEra 2020 |OT 1| THE ANTI BENGHAZI (Read Staff Post)
It's not just about the issues, but about competencies: writing legislation and all of the little things that entails. It generally takes a year or so for them to start to figure that stuff out, it's generally why people who have been serving longer tend to be the ones to get stuff passed. Get rid of senior legislators and you hamstring all the people coming in who would normally learn from them.
Term limits is something that sounds like a good idea until you realize you'd be giving people the boot the instant the finally learned how to do the job properly.
ThreadUS PoliEra 2020 |OT 1| THE ANTI BENGHAZI (Read Staff Post)
Legislative term-limits will just make it worse. We see it in every state that implements them, the turn-over forces legislators to rely more on lobbyists as experts instead of each other or being able to build up that expertise themselves.

Rand Paul is just a juror. As are the rest of the Senators. All they do is sit there and listen, they do nothing else. There's going to be 0 grandstanding or anything from the Senate itself. Everything comes from the prosecutors and defense.
ThreadUS PoliEra 2020 |OT 1| THE ANTI BENGHAZI (Read Staff Post)
Here's the thing. The US PoliEra thread is ultimately a general politics thread encompassing all aspects of US politics. There are a bunch of regular posters, yes, but anyone with an interest in discussing US politics should be able to post in here. People discuss Trump news here. People discuss the primaries. People discuss policy, like earlier in here on community college. There are a ton of people in here, and they don't all discuss the same things. So this thread isn't exactly like the Socialism thread, which has a more specialized topic of interest.
And honestly, we don't need the generalizing of this into PoliEra vs. SocialismEra. All these threads are ultimately comprised of individuals, and each individual doesn't necessarily represent an entire thread. We get complaints when people jab PoliEra in the OT, and yeah, it's annoying because PoliEra is full of people who don't all agree with each other. Generalizations are reductive and ultimately not conducive towards discussion, so we don't need to do that vs. the Socialism thread either.
As for this thread, US politics is often stressful to follow and people have genuine disagreements. So things get heated sometimes. But if you think someone is crossing the line, then just report them. But at the same time, it'd be nice if everyone could assume people are discussing in good faith before assuming that things are due to community warring and jumping to hostilities.
As for your post, , there are people all over the site with a ton of infractions, so it'd be best to avoid the generalizations about toxicity.
Also, keep the offsite commentary off the site. Thanks.
ThreadCNN: Bernie Sanders told Elizabeth Warren in private 2018 meeting that a woman can't win, Bernie denies(Update: NYT & Buzzfeed Confirming)
All I'm saying is nobody is perfect and our culture has fed us sexism for so long that we, as men, need to actively push back against the internalization of it every day. Much like white people need to do with racism or cis people need to do with transphobia or straight people need to do with homophobia. It's something that educational theory has focused on teaching kids for a bit, but it applies to all of us. I've seen people who would normally reject bigotry buy into a lowkey bigoted stereotype simply because it had been so internalized they didn't even realize that's what it was. Prejudice and bigotry are something we all need to push back against actively and constantly. The second you think you're free from all of that is the second you allow them to take hold in your mind.

And if he did actually say it? I'm going to vote for him in NY when the time comes, but this is the kinda thing I want to know about beforehand. It's easy to say the right thing in public. It's what you say when no one's looking that matters.
Do I think it got garbled in the telling? Yeah, it probably did. Do I know Bernie's said some not great stuff over the years? Yeah, he definitely has. No one's perfect. Politicians especially. They all suck, it's just a matter of how much and what you can live with to advance your goals.

Wouldn't be shocked if those were just twitter bots or trolls of some kind. Twitter isn't exactly know for dealing with that stuff in a timely fashion.
Yeah, I don't blame him either. tbh, I'm fine with RBNY doing it because it just means more players for Woly to play at RB2. But if not for that I wouldn't give a rat's ass about the draft
You can get some decent team players in the draft. RBNY got Brian White two years back and he's worked out pretty decently (not gonna be international caliber, but good enough for MLS)
When I say that a single candidate winning Iowa and New Hampshire is what it would take to change the dynamic, it comes with the caveat that if that person has not put the work in then odds are nothing will change.
It's all about that grassroots work, if you haven't put it in then you can't expect a pay out.
Keep in mind that Obama reportedly did a ton of outreach to the African-American community prior to Iowa. It wasn't just that he won, it's that he won and put in a ton of grassroots work to convince them he was worth taking a shot on. That's the bit that gets lost in the telling of the story, that Iowa alone wasn't enough and he had to put in a bunch of work to make it matter in the way he did.
EDIT: This is more for everyone else in the thread and I don't mean it as talking down to anyone or anything like that, just that Obama put in tons of work prior to Iowa and his win there made it all pay off.

It's why I refuse to engage with assholes on Twitter, even if it's just to dunk on them. Not only is it bad in terms of mental health, but it just helps spread the message they want to send. Deplatforming them does way more damage, and is better for you to boot.
That's not why Trump won. He won because less than 100k votes flipped in 3 states. People keep forgetting that if not for the last minute Comey letter, or change one of the other 27 things that went wrong, he probably loses and we're in the other timeline.
This is the kind of shit Nixon wanted to do at 3am while dead drunk in the middle of his impeachment. He just had people willing to say no to his insanity.
Honestly, what Trump did is so crazy that we cant really compare it to anything else. Both Obama, and even fucking W, had the option to kill this guy and neither took it. When W thinks something is too crazy to do...man...
Lead poisoning has been linked to crime rates and all sorts of other things. Decrease lead in an area and you'll make it better in a single generation. I did some work around it a while back and there's people who swear by the theory, the data isn't definitive but it's very persuasive.
No, I think if he can't get both Iowa and NH he's done. Same with Warren. If they split it and Biden can still place well, SC is coming like a freight train to run them over.
RBNY twitter has been on it for a while, I just assumed everyone knew. Plus it's not like the account has been any good anyway.

ThreadPlease welcome your new General Manager: B-Dubs!
As General Manager I'll be running the site in all its particulars, and I'll be in charge of the staff. The hierarchy, to the extent that it exists, can be found on.
When the site was created there were multiple owners, but they left and sold their shares to Cerium. He'll still own the site and take care of logistics on that end.
The site staff are all volunteers, mods and admins. Some of the more specialized work is compensated, and that's always been the case.
ThreadPlease welcome your new General Manager: B-Dubs!
Hello everyone! This is a huge honor and responsibility. To tell you the truth, I’m not entirely sure how to feel about all of this. That probably goes for a bunch of you as well. For years, since the site’s inception, Cerium has been a big part of the team and keeping the trains running on time. Looking at everything he’s done behind the scenes to prepare for this handover has shown me just how much trust he’s placing in me and how much the community has depended on his work, often without even realizing it. So, I would like to thank him for the vote of confidence and for keeping vigil for all this time. None of this would exist without him. If anyone deserves a break, it’s him. Thank you for everything you have done for all of us.
I wasn’t one of the launch mods, but I was brought onto the team in the first months of the site’s history. I had to be convinced by friends to accept the position. The argument that worked was that I would be able to help make sure that we rejected and banned the alt right trolls, gamergaters, and the rest of the scum of the internet. I know first hand how hard we’ve worked to keep the worst of the internet off the site, and we want to do more. We’ll never be perfect or make everyone happy, but I can promise that we’ll do the best we can. In my life, I have always tried to be a better person than I was the day before--smarter, more empathetic, more responsive to the needs of others--and I will bring that same attitude to this position. As a team we will always strive to do better each day.
Last April I helped organize a forum-wide event that resulted in a few hundred members getting tags, we’ve been calling it the Thanos event. About 1000 people signed up for a 50-50 chance at getting banned for a month and those that remained were tasked with solving puzzles for the month. Some were hilariously simple, others not so much. I’d like to think we all had a lot of fun with it and I would like to do that sort of thing more often. There have been a few members of staff that have pitched ideas for events like this and we’ll be looking to make them happen in the next year. Just fun things for members of the site to do, a reminder that we are all here to make our lives a little brighter.
Beyond that, there are other ideas for new features that we’d like to explore. Things similar in spirit to GiftBot, things that will hopefully be as big a hit and allow people to have a bit more fun with other members on the site. I won’t go into any details yet, simply because organizing development is always a challenge and there’s no telling what might happen in the future, but everyone involved in the discussions so far has been excited.
Other than the fact that I am now in charge of the running of the site, I don’t imagine much will change right away. In terms of moderation we will still give the bigots, trolls, and horrors of the internet no quarter. Anyone that knows me, either on here or in real life, knows that I’ve always fought those things as hard as I can. I will do the same as general manager. I don’t imagine that I will be perfect or get everything right on the first attempt, but I trust and love the people around me and I think that, together, we can meet and exceed your expectations.
Also, can we cut out the platform warring? It’s driving me a bit mad. New consoles are coming, they’re going to be awesome, can we just have fun?
ThreadManga |OT|: No matter how I look at it, it's discord's fault we're not popular
Jitsu wa was never a harem though. It was just a simple romcom that features a demon that tries to destroy the world on several different occasions in order to get tasty treats and who relentlessly trolled the entire main cast after being introduced.
Dems have done ok on the state level where they could. In NY teaching starts at 60k already. The issue is the states have control of education. There's a real limit to what the feds can do and anyone saying otherwise is full of shit.
You want better education? Gotta go state by state. And that's not even taking the cultural issues into account.
This ain't a Dem establishment thing, no matter how much you'd like it to be.
Honestly, yes. When a coal town's mine dies, how do you think they keep going? It's social security payments. There's a whole industry of lawyers in these areas that will help you get social security early, there's whole towns that quite literally survive off the influx of money from social security checks.
Coal mining as an industry needs to die. The coal miners refuse to do any other kind of job because it's become a cultural thing for them, it's become their identity, who they are as people. They live in fear of the mines dying and yet will do nothing to protect themselves from it. These are jobs that by every stretch of the imagination should not exist: they harm the people doing them, they harm the people who live near the people doing them, they harm the entire world and doom future generations. This is an industry that should be stabbed in the heart with a wooden stake.
This is exactly the sort of thing UBI is built for. Hell, you can argue we're already doing it in certain places.
Honestly, the sad part of all this is that there's maybe 50k people in this industry and look at how much deference they get in comparison to other industries. If teachers got treated with this sort of deference schools would be funded beyond our wildest dreams and teaching would be the sector to go into. There would be no education problem in this country.
Let's be real: coal mining is part of the industry that's destroying our world. It's a practice that not only damages the environment, but enables the use of a substance that is one of the leading destroyers of the planet's ozone layer.
Given this, why the difference in rhetoric between them and health insurance companies? People don't seem to give a rat's ass about the random schmuck who works at an insurance company because it's the only job they can find. Single payer will destroy the industry that employs them and yet no one cares. Yet the coal mining industry that actively destroy our world and dooms the lives of our children and our children's children is in need of protection?
Should we not be looking to disassemble both industries and shift these people into jobs that do not actively harm others? That, in the case of coal miners, actively harm the people that work them? Why do we have a difference between the two? These are both horrific industries that do more harm than good.
Seriously, explain to me the difference between the two. Why should we save one and not the other? They both actively cost people their lives to little or no societal benefit.
To be honest, you're the same with Bernie. His support hasn't really budged at all. He's been in the same 4-point range nationally since Biden got into the race, 16-20%. He hasn't really moved outside of that. He hasn't broken out beyond his base supporters at all.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
If you don't push for it, and hard, nothing will come. Everyone is more than happy to make excuses for America's gun problem, on the right and the left. Considering my history with the issue, that's unacceptable to me.
Well, then the media and establishment getting behind him wouldn't help much. Also, it's not the media's job to get behind a candidate. That's what happens when you just want to be propaganda, like Fox is.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
For guns, I feel like his prior votes speak far far far louder than his current words. Voting against something like the Brady Bill and for giving Gun Manufacturers and Sellers legal immunity is something that's very hard to make up for, in my opinion.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
No offense, but he changed on it in the middle of a campaign where he was getting attacked on the issue. So I don't exactly have a ton of confidence in him on this.
Also, his reasoning for the Brady Bill thing (imo) is bullshit.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
It's like a 24 point gap on the aggregate. There's going to need to be a GIGANTIC shift in the African-American vote for anyone to take that primary. . I'm not exactly getting my hopes up.
Momentum from a couple of tight wins probably won't do the job, Biden would need to come in like 4th in the first two in order to get the shift needed. I'd been hopeful someone would overtake him until late last month. The top candidates have largely been static in terms of support, outside a Pete surge in the early states.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
I mean, total honesty, I'm hoping someone other than Biden wins. I've got issues with all of the candidates, but I'd really prefer not to have to hold my nose and vote for Biden in the general. At this point, the primary just feels a lot like the 2016 GOP primary. There's a candidate with an important chunk of the electorate on lock and everyone else is just waiting for them to screw up instead of attacking because they want to grab that support.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
My issues with Bernie have always been his history on gun control, his pivoting to generalized income inequality on every single issue, and his need to put his foot in his mouth when it comes to race.
Like I said, I got issues with everyone this cycle.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
If that's the choice by the time it gets to NY? Yup. If you thought otherwise then you really don't know me at all.
Have a feeling it's all going to be done and dusted by the time I get to vote though. I'm pretty late in the cycle this time.
ThreadDemocratic insiders: “Bernie could win the nomination”
Not if he can't put a dent in Biden's African-American support. So far no one's been able to do that. I wish someone would, but Iowa doesn't matter if it doesn't change that dynamic.

Obama is like stupidly popular. The idea that smearing Biden as Obama-lite will get people to go away feels kinda silly, especially when it's why he's currently winning.
Right and you know that I am in a largely black community, where the kids get free lunch and are below the poverty line (this is also basically the community I grew up in). So we both live in a bubble, they're just vastly different bubbles.
Basically we're both right and are both just sharing our own experiences. I just don't want you to feel like I'm dismissing you in any way, ya know?
I don't think so either, but I think it more depends on where you are as well. It's just this weird thing I've noticed, that they're mostly kinda ambivalent to Bernie. He's just kinda there.
It could just be location and demographics, but it's just like that what you've seen is vastly different than what I have is all.
It's funny because the kids I've been working with aren't really taken with Sanders at all. For them it's very much about Obama and what he represents for them: the idea that they can make something great of themselves and that they can see themselves as president. They'll be talking about how the world wants to hold them back and how horrible everything is, then remember Obama and go, "Well, maybe I could..." or "Maybe one day..." It kind of makes their dreams not so out of reach anymore.
They'll critique him for stuff like the war, but it's just an interesting thing to watch happen.
Bernie's influential, you're right, but at the same time he hasn't been able to go in hard on Biden simply because of Obama's shadow. And I think that, the shadow, is going to stretch over a few generations.
I know this isn't what you or O'Donnell are arguing and is a bit of a strawman, but it's just something that tweet and what I've been doing for the last two years has made me think about. It's just been funny watching how these kids, who were like elementary schoolers at the time, view things and where their influences are.
Except that his strategy and has been a huge critique of him since 2016. His whole plan, unless he's changed it, which he could very well have, has been to apply enough political pressure through mass protest to get the GOP to acquiesce and let his priorities through.
ThreadEra, how would you change today's school system?
In the US? Throw money at the schools. Find the 3 best funded schools in the nation with the best results; elementary, middle, and high school; and give every other school in the nation money until they are running even with those three schools.
Education in the US is such that throwing money at the problem will literally help a ton right now.
ThreadEra, how would you change today's school system?
I'm going to be real, that's a horrible idea. If anything we should be expanding electives. More art, more music, more gym. That's the stuff kids like and look forward to, if you take that way you won't be doing them any good. You want them to want to be there, to feel like they're wanted and what they like matters. There's a reason student choice is so big among educators, the more choice kids have the happier they are and the more they wind up learning. Don't make them read one book in English class, let them choose one of three to read.
To be totally honest, this is where something like a UBI would help a ton. The issue with these small towns is that there's more money going out than coming in. Gotta equalize the two streams at a bare minimum. Ideally, you'd want more money coming in than going out.

Absolutely you can, but all numbering and formatting must happen as indicated in the sample ballot above, meaning your numbers cannot be within the image itself, and you must make the images work within an ordered list. Images should be posted AFTER the bolded title. ex: "1. Game A (img) - comments" or "1. Game A - comments (img)" You can use carriage returns and the like are fine for spacing out images.
You should NOT split your ballot into two, because the parser won't read it correctly.
No, you can simply edit your original vote up until the deadline. Please note that ONLY your posted list will be read by the parser. If you wish to make ballot changes, please edit your already posted list!
Most likely, you didn't follow the rules above. What you probably did: You didn't number things correctly. You didn't write any comments. You listed the same game more than once. You didn't follow the formatting rules.
No.
We'll be fairly lenient on variations, but the only way to guarantee that your vote will be counted is to copy-and-paste from the spreadsheet. But again, just because a game isn't listed doesn't mean you can't vote for it if you're sure it's a 2019 title. Just use the most complete and official title available.
As soon as is possible given the copy-paste technology at our disposal.
Happy voting, everyone!

Randsom didn't leave any footprints on that walk, remember? Had she done nothing, they'd have gotten the wrong person.
It wasn't really by mistake that she didn't kill him either, she instinctually knew which bottle was which.
She didn't actually do anything that obstructed the investigation. If anything her actions kept them on the right track the entire time, had she not done what she had done they would have arrested the wrong person and the killer gone free.
The story here was just so clever and well put together. I thought it was going to be this Columbo type film after Marta's initial flashback and it played out that way the entire time. I figured the big moment would be Blanc having to decide between the truth and doing what's right by everyone involved, but then the curveball comes and the rainbow lands where you should have expected it to land at the start, but were led to believe was a red herring.
The story here is just so incredibly well put together, the final twist is just immaculate.
Personally, I think it's more she knows she needs his base and won't win them by attack him. But quite frankly, they need to cut into Biden's base if they want to win. It's why no one has been going in hard against him, it's the 2016 GOP primary all over again: everyone needs the leader's base and just assume they'll implode soon enough.

This has been something we've discussed at length when the community raises these concerns and suggestions, but every time we come to the same conclusion. As you note, the reason we do not make infraction histories public is so that users don't abuse the information. Part of what we're looking to do is cut into toxicity on the site. A gigantic part of that is harsher bans on those engaging in bigotry, but part of that is also individuals who would weaponize prior bans in order to attack people they simply do not like. This is something we have seen occur from time to time already, people taking unrelated bans into threads in order to dismiss someone's argument or position (for example someone gets warned for trolling on gaming side and it's used to attack them in other threads), and it's something that isn't really healthy for the site. We would essentially be making it easier for users to bully each other. We don't want to propagate things like this, so while it might be good for some users, we believe it will be a net negative for the site as a whole.

While we aren't going to be protecting people from the results of their own actions, we do think that there is more to be done with threads like these. Quite frankly, locks and staff posts should have come sooner than they did and we will be trying to ensure that we act faster in the future.
As far as any bans go, those will depend entirely on the situation in the thread itself. We cannot read every post in every thread, so reporting posts in these, and all, threads, will help us spot potential trouble as it's getting started and hopefully take care of it before it escalates.
I will note, whenever a member mentions that they are suicidal, or we believe they might harm themselves, we always reach out to them in order to make sure they know they matter and will get the help they need. Unfortunately, not everyone will reply to such PMs.
All of this said, a vast majority of these kinds of threads go well and the community does come together to try and help those members who need help.

We've gone ahead and removed SurrenderDorothy's ban. We'd like to apologize for the confusion surrounding the ban.
Although "ghoul" has been used against politicians before, the context changes when it's used specifically against a woman (especially an older woman.) The reason for this is because could be considered an attack on her looks. However, after further deliberation and given the ambiguity of how the term has been used, we've opted to lift the ban. We ask that people be more aware of how their rhetoric comes across in the future.
In regards to this thread, however, the conversation has been derailed due to the discussion of the ban. Therefore, we're going to go ahead and lock this thread now.
I really contend that the only shot someone has of taking this away from Biden is if they sweep the first 3 states. If they're split between 2-3 candidates, with Biden doing respectably, then it's game over.
I don't think winning just Iowa will be enough for anyone in the race. What needs to happen is someone needs to take Biden's base from him. If that doesn't happen, he wins.

Thank you for putting words in my mouth, I appreciate it.
What I am saying is that there is a GIGANTIC ethical issue with him running. If TYT decides not to cover the race at all then he benefits (especially if he's got a scandal), if they do choose to cover his opponents then he benefits (because any negative stories they run on them will directly benefit his campaign), and if they choose to cover his campaign then he benefits (because do you really think they'll run a negative story about the guy signing their bills?).
If you want to complain about the rich and powerful taking advantage of our political system, here it is! This is one of the best examples of it. Bloomberg is a much bigger example, but this is the exact same ethical issue. People that shape the news, running for office.
He's in charge of a media organization and running for office. How is it different? Is TYT going to be investigating him? Are they never going to mention his run at all?
How are they handling it differently than Bloomberg News is handling Bloomberg's run?
Do you not see the blatant conflict of interest in a news organization covering a race their boss is running in?Kinda skipping over my point there. It's a huge ethical issue, but sure, ignore it.

ThreadSummary From 11/24/19 Meeting Involving TransEra Community & ResetEra Staff
Everything moderators do right now has to be discussed and agreed upon by multiple team members, and long ban lengths need to be reviewed and approved by even more staff. The community complaint was that this can lead to too much time being taken to remove obvious bad actors from threads. We'll be cutting some red tape in that regard.
Pretty much. The debates should have been cutting people left and right. Instead everyone and their grandmother has been allowed to stick around as long as they like.
Bloomberg won't hurt Biden at all. Stop and Frisk means he's dead on arrival to African-American voters. If you want to hurt Biden you to peel those voters away from him and so far no one has done that. Either someone pulls it off or he wins, that's probably how this is going to go.
What makes him not a flavor of the month candidate? Because right now this primary is playing out almost exactly like the 2016 GOP presidential primary: a frontrunner with a plurality (and not a majority) who never gets overtaken by the rest of the field because the rest of the voters are unable to agree on who to back.
I mean, he's not wrong. They are the right ideas, but if you think the average person is as far left as the average left-twitter users are then I have a bridge to sell you. If we were a country of secret socialists then Bernie would be running for reelection right now.
A one-term state senator who never won an election in her life, who tried to hire a Trumper before her own people revolted against her at OR? That's someone who should be a heartbeat away from the presidency?
It's more that the Nixon impeachment had way more flair than this has. There was a break-in, an anonymous source, recordings of everything, that shit had it all.
Ukraine is easy to understand, but it doesn't have the flair that Watergate did.
He doesn't have that factor. On paper he's perfectly acceptable, not great but not bad, he just doesn't have a lane. He's probably going to be VP for whoever wins tbh.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't get to pick.
The Senators are basically jurors. They'll be present during arguments, but they won't be able to say anything.
I imagine one of the major networks will drag out an old congressional reporter that covered the Nixon thing to explain it or something.
With any luck, we'll have signed him on to be a coach. He's part of why White has been so good for us. BWP is a master at reading space in the box, if we can keep that knowledge then we'll never have to worry about a striker again.

In Iowa maybe, but he's getting killed in NH by Warren and by Biden in Nevada and SC. Hell, is getting killed by Biden in Nevada and SC. Especially SC, if that holds it won't even be close.
If someone wants to beat Biden they're going to to eat into his african-american support. That hasn't been happening so far.
My larger point is all the momentum in the world is pointless if it doesn't result in Biden losing support among african-american primary voters. I want him to lose, but so far no one has cut into that base of support.

Maybe they have a lead on the missing road ponyglyph. If Blackbeard, Shanks, or someone on that level is controlling it then a team up would make sense.
Even his specific UBI implementation is bad. There's a way better version of it to be had that would do a lot of good and seriously go a long way towards closing the gap, but his ain't it.
I dunno, Rocks was made up of 3 of the last 4 emperors. We've only got 2 right now.
I could see Luffy and co beating the hell out of Kaido and forcing a retreat, with the defeat of Orochi being the end of the arc.
So, we still don't know jack shit about Rocks and two of the major players are still alive. Plus Blackbeard's ship is named after the captain of that crew and he's in charge of the island Rocks was formed on.
I don't think we'll be getting rid of any of these guys until we get a Rocks flashback.

Our last word on Ketkat:
Her post mentions "the staff talking in the discord" with a very specific reference to a conversation that happened in a private channel in the staff server. This was a channel that had been created as a safe space for minority members of the staff. Only a very limited number of individuals had access to the channel in question.
This compounds previous suspicions that Ketkat had inappropriate access to the staff server -- she has previously (and has continued in emails) to reference policies using wording found only in staff literature. She has also contacted individual staff members with apparent knowledge of things they mentioned in private.
Ketkat has been unable to explain her access to these conversations, but by process of elimination we are confident that we know how it was done, and that it was highly inappropriate. This is extremely serious and not a situation where inaction was possible.

So it looks like she's clamped down a lot of the "I'm definitely going" caucus goers, while Bernie has a larger share of the "I might go" caucus goers.
Of course, a majority still haven't decided yet and have only narrowed it down. That said, Warren apparently has a very strong lead as a second choice. So if anyone drops between now and then, or they swap day of, she's most likely to benefit at the moment. This, I thought, was in interesting bit. If this was just about the issues, she'd be winning easy, but when you start looking at electability she takes a huge hit.

He's not given more coverage because he hasn't really done anything to warrant it. When he jumped in he got a ton of coverage because he was the instant front runner, ever since then though he's slipped down to third and he hasn't really moved since. He needs to make something happen for himself if he wants more TV time because he's not only competing with the rest of the field, but with a president who is literally being impeached. No news director in their right mind is going to take TV time away from covering a president who is literally embroiled in scandal and being actively either investigated by the FBI, a special consul, or being impeached by Congress. It'd be journalistic maleficence.
Keep in mind that Warren managed to climb up from 1% while being largely ignored by the press and written off during the first half of this year. Everyone thought she was DOA after the DNA test thing, and the polling (and media coverage) reflected that. Now she's largely in second. Bernie needs to make his own case to the primary voters in the early states. If he does that then he'll get more coverage.
If he can't win, that's on him. If Warren can't win that's on her. If Biden slips up and loses that's on him.
You need to specifically condition for a sustained high press. Part of why the RB teams are successful is that they can take it to a level that other teams just can't and then sustain that level over the course of a whole game (or even kick it up a notch).

Just the way characters go about defeating seemingly unstoppable Nen abilities is fantastic. Sheer strength is shown to only get you so far, it's cleverness and prep-time that always win the day in HxH.
It likely has to do with conditions. The stricter the conditions the more you can accomplish. The Nen works because the cards can only work on the Island, unless you collect literally one of every card and even then you're limited in what you can take off the island (only 3 cards, along with another restriction). Breath of Archangel, for example, is one of the hardest cards in the game to get and as such it's very powerful.
Basically the more restrictions on a power, the more powerful it is. Greed Island only works because of all the restrictions in place.

This implies he hasn't always been bad. Dude hid behind meaningless votes and gestures on things the left cares about, but when the chips were down he always did the wrong thing.
It's the difference between a passive and an active character. An active character, like you said, will do things to accomplish their goal and will, as a result, alter the actions of the characters around them. A passive character just sits around and waits to be acted upon, they don't really want to do anything and so they are subject to the actions of the characters around them and do not push or pull the story in their direction at all.
Ichigo is a good example because of a vast majority of the series he is absolutely a passive character. He has no real goal or motivation to speak of, except in two arcs. Those arcs being the Soul Society Arc and the Fullbringers Arc, aka the two good arcs.
Deku, despite having a goal, doesn't really take active steps towards accomplishing it so he's a passive character. MHA is very much like Harry Potter, only without Voldemort trying to kill Harry once a year. So as a result Deku lacks an immediate goal or problem to overcome that he can take active steps towards accomplishing. Stuff just kind of happens to Deku, he doesn't really do stuff.

ThreadWhy 'Pickle Rick' is both the best and most misunderstood episode on Rick and Morty (spoilers obviously)
The whole point of pickle rick is that he finally looked like what he actually was: a monster.
The only way they could have been more explicit with this is if they turned him into Frankenstein's monster, but people still missed the point.
The reason House didn't get misread is because he's actively doing asshole things in a setting that makes him look like the biggest bag of dicks in the universe. He's a doctor being an asshole to patients. No one could possibly misinterpret that.
Depends on why they're losing money. For example, I'm not too worried about RBNY because all their money is basically going into the academy. So they'll recoup it in big chunks as players get sold off (when Adams is moved from Leipzig in a few years they're going to make an absolute killing given the deal they made). Plus they own their own stadium, so they can just sell the naming rights at any point if they feel the need for some more income.
I'm more worried about the teams that don't own their own stadium, don't regularly sell players, and are running in the red.

No, the filibuster was accidentally created by a very early Senate. They had a time limit on how long debate could go, but they felt it wasn't long enough so they abolished said time limit. It was pointed out that this could lead to a bill being stalled indefinitely, but they felt the kind of asshole who would do that was unlikely to get elected to the Senate in the first place so they just ignored that possibility. It wasn't until about 50 years later that they were proven wrong and the first filibuster was done.
You can blame Thomas Jefferson's Vice President, Aaron Burr, for the filibuster.

Chris Armas has no appreciable gameplan, at half time he draws circles around words on a whiteboard and gesticulates wildly as he yells the word "effort."
Dome Torrent reportedly does plan for every game and makes tactical adjustments based on what he sees on the field.
Armas very nearly won his playoff game and only really lost because he took his foot off the gas in the second half.
Torrent very nearly tied his game and sent it into overtime and only lost because his players gave up a penalty in the dying minutes of the game.

ThreadToonami |SepOct19| So the author just gave up then, huh?
I kinda like that so much of what we know about the world is secondhand. We don't need to go everywhere, it kinda robs stuff of the mystery. It's like how JK Rowling needs to stop explaining everything about Harry Potter, after a certain point you just start taking away from what's there instead of adding to it.
He ruined what was probably the best team in league history. He fucked up BWP final season. He fucked up Kaku. He fucked up Amir. He fucked up Parker and Long. He fucked up Davis. He fucked up CCJ and Omir.
About the only thing he did right was get Sims and he couldn't even do that right because the man is probably on a plane back to Southampton as we speak!

As Midnight Jon mentioned, members of different communities have been using Etcetera political threads to wage forum war for the last year or so. It's ruined threads and driven other posters away. We're putting a stop to it now.
If you have no idea what I am talking about then you're probably fine. If you do, then you have been fairly warned.

Unless he's a billion years old I don't think that works. Joy Boy was around 900 years prior to the start of the series.Probably never. Closest we came is Luffy using super elasticity to keep in the air or Donflamingo using strings to swing from cloud to cloud. Or Sanji doing sky walk.

Yeah, any good it's done for oppressed people has been outweighed by how completely it has destroyed our discourse. Giving marginalized peoples a voice is good, turning everyone into always online shitbags and giving a megaphone to Nazis is horrific.
She's literally gone to bat for Assad while he's been killing his own people. Anti-war my ass.
She's literally in a bigoted cult. There's video of her at a meeting from last year.
Since when? Tulsi Gabbard literally went on Fox News while Obama was president to attack him for refusing to say "Islamic Extremist Terrorism," she's been trash for years and years and years.
The standard for proving libel is insanely high, given Gabbard is running for president it's literally impossible to prove as she's most definitely a public figure.
We saw a bit of what prime Jozy could do when Toronto won that MLS Cup (dude went full on beast mode, lifted that team on his back, and dragged them across the line) so the fact we never got to see what he could do in a World Cup sucks.
No one in the program was quite as good as prime Donovan though. He made that team competitive in games they shouldn't have been.
I think this groups has guys like that, just in different spots than we're used to. Adams is already a starter for a UCL team and the only reason he's not playing is injury.
Berhalther needs to go, but the sides we're losing to are sides that are made up of largely MLS players. The team just needs a coach who can simplify, GGG is going way too complicated for the international game, and put the players in spots to succeed. Klinsmann didn't do that, Arena was too obsessed with his guys and didn't have time to build a roster or bleed in new talent, and Spicy Dave was Spicy Dave.
Get the right coach in there and things will be fine.
