I think forced SJW content in video games is ruining them. An example is when Nadine beats the crap out of Nathan AND Same at the same time. That was absolutely pathetic. The actual aspect ratio of DC games is not a true 4:3. It's about ~7% narrower than 4:3. This can be considered an error or whatever, but that fact is: that's how Shenmue was designed.
Those who don't care, just carry on. I'm posting this only to prove that Dreamcast consoles displayed the game this way on typical CRT TVs of its era.

CRT TVs didn't display square pixel images as they don't have pixels to begin with. They are analogue devices which paint an image on a phosphor coating with electron beams. That's the point. It was designed with full knowledge that the watch won't be round. They were constantly checking how the game is going to look on CRT TVs on which people would typically play it on. You are wrong by assuming this game was made with capturing devices and PC square pixels in mind. It's like you people don't understand the basic fact: the game is supposed to look the way it does on CRT TVs, which is with the black bars on the left and right. However, they might not be visible on a given CRT TV due to its overscan adjustments. This was actually a feature back in the day because CRT TVs would shift image and/or crop it due to random settings at factories. Those adjustments were made roughly and each manufacturer could deviate from the PAL and NTSC standards in terms of image centering and overscan percentage.
In other words, the watch in Shenmue would be oval on CRT TVs of the era, not round. Just like the Metroid ball is not round on real NES hardware and CRT TVs. This is all a part of the SD gaming legacy and you people stretch it to meet PC standards of the modern day. Don't you see the fundamental problem here?

Finished the game 20 minutes ago.
It's really good, the only thing that was meh is the combat system and the feedback of the axe, but acting, graphics, lenght, pacing and story telling are REALLY, REALLY good.

The half-step/tradeoff-y nature of the Pro along with all of the complaints I hear about how loud it is make it really hard to justify over a One X. Seen a bunch of people complaining about fan noise while playing God of War. I really like having the base Ps4 for sony stuff and the One X for everything else.

RE7 sold 100k, that's RE7, the other games are most likely selling 20-30k. I just explained why only 2 of the 5 matter, why don't you read. Housemarque just released one exclusive, not two, so why don't you get your info correct. And Matterfall was announced 2 years ago at PGW 2015. And even if you name 1-2 games, that still doesn't change that Sony is dropping 2nd party games. Obviously not all, but a lot, in favor of VR games, games no one buys, which is the whole point of conversation. And again, not even replying to my main point, obviously you can't.

Yea I just bought the 900E though. I might return it, I may keep it. Still need to do some research and exploring issues surrounding Dolby Vision and futureproofing. I certainly don't like the idea of having just spent $150 on a stand-alone Sony 4K player that won't do DV.
There is a fine line between getting an entry-level 4K setup for ~$1200 and going overboard with overspending and future tech concerns, you know? I'm trying to find that delicate balance of a decent 4K setup that won't become instantly outdated or fail, causing remorse in a year. There's a lot to consider. I'm in this for the medium-long haul and cannot afford to make a mistake. I've definitely considered both the B7A and the 930E.

Sony is absolutely obliterating this generation, especially as of late and with games like Last of Us 2, Spiderman, Ghosts of Tsushima and Death Stranding hitting in the next two years (hopefully) I see zero reason to own an Xbox console. The sheer amount of high quality games coming out of Sony Worldwide studios is a testament to how engaged Sony is in the gaming business and truly cares.
The difference between Sony and Microsoft are the size of the companies and what their golden egg's really are.
The Xbox division is a small arm of a giant that is M$ and their primary focus is the business/services that make them the most money. Sony's gaming division is a huge portion of their profit pie and we can all see how much involved and engaged in talent they truly are.
While I sound like a fanboy but I literally cannot imagine a future without Sony ip's and wish I could say the same for the xbox platform. It's the same with Nintendo, just like Sony, the two companies seem to have a "soul" and charm that M$ is lacking.
