i feel like people on this site have a deranged idea of what art is. amateurs making amateurish art training and learning. that's what training is! it's training when somebody who's never run before manages to make it a quarter mile without stopping! it's training when you figure out the frame data on all your normals! and it's training when you fuck around with doodles long enough that you figure out how perspective works! that's what getting good at something is! that's what makes art accessible! the tools are all there for you to learn! the only limit is how much you're willing to dedicate to it! if you elide all of this in favor of typing up something into dalle, what have you gained? have you really created anything? is this the product of your effort? have you expressed what you wanted to express, or did a computer interpret your prompt and produce something you think looks kinda cool? is this what art is? just a machine producing something cool on your behalf? i don't think so, i reject that definition outright. i'm sorry if that troubles you. Bitch, i can't draw. But, a few things: One, I am quite aware that I do not practice, I do not make any effort, and therefore my art is not good in any technical sense. Two, I understand that, if I wanted to be good at art, I would have to put in that effort, to dedicate time and sweat into improving. Three, and this is crucial:
I was there for a little over a month in 2011, with Aerotek, and I don't think I ever saw anything that stood out. Mostly just kept to myself and didn't really talk to anybody out of fear of doing something wrong (I was 19), but even during the lunch breaks I don't ever recall overhearing anything out of the ordinary. Just seemed like a standard corporate thing to me. I'm pretty sure we also only had access to company email and that was the only way to contact anyone (so all the other chat servers and stuff is after I was there), but I think most people tried to use it as little as possible in fear of accidentally sending an email to someone like Miyamoto since I think practically everyone showed up in the contacts list. Even the overtime seemed pretty fine, since it was just an extra 2 hours for a couple days (was paid the proper time and a half as well) and they ordered us food. I did hear one story from years prior where a guy had a heart attack or something in the office because he had to stay overnight and slammed a ton of energy drinks, but that wouldn't exactly be NoA's fault.
I'm here because I like to see PC Gamepass be better. There's no reason it can't be. But until they actually undergo that necessary paradigm shift of communicating and focusing on the service, rather than pretending there aren't problems and throwing money at stuff like the Riot deal to draw people in without needing to put in nearly as much effort, I'm going to recommend that people stay away. Free PC Gamepass through Bing search rewards was also a big help in my keeping sane during the time where I was unemployed and felt like I couldn't get a job. So there is that.
It's fitting you quoted me. You're not the usuals I was talking about, but you just joined this year and I see you in various threads doing the same thing...so yeah you're getting there. Keep it up. Edit- Holy shit, you've been here less than a month??? Wow. 450+ posts in 26 days? Dude that is amazing, I ain't even gonna lie. Edit 2- as far as fud, yeah... show the proof. You think Sony bought Bungie, after *disgruntley being forced* to take in microtransactions from MLB The Show on various platforms, knowing they had to do the same for Bungie?
the EGS hysteria is ridiculous...so people are willing to install Steam, Uplay, EA Origin, Blizzard installer, GoG etc but somehow draw the line with the 5th or 6th game installer??...that's laughable...
Good thing they can pay for their accessibility. Gamescom Opening Night looks to be definitely shaping up for a must watch.
i don't know bro, what's wrong with me for being frustrated at seeing my city being ruined by an increasing number of tank-sized ford raptor 4x4 cumguzzler edition, driven by high income suburbanites for pure vanity. what wrong with me. everytime i see one these child-annihilators my keying hand itches
It’s just MarkStarIVWWE making shit up to fit their narrative about how much they hate AEW.
So this seems pretty big... they took Trump's Passports in the FBI Raid.
Weekly reminder again that this forum encouraging leak culture and then wanting to play advocate for us devs only when the words “crunch” or “cancellation” or “acquisition” appear is outright comical.
Lol I hope you start using the term in the correct contexts EDIT: Interesitng tho the source you shared says that EVs have better emissions than used ICUs after 4 years. Which is quite a long time to say that you SHOULD buy a new car vs a used one
As though everyone on this forum is living a 100% pure ethical lifestyle. Until every single one of you is leading an absolutely perfect life you shouldn’t be criticising anyone else. You have ABSOLUTELY no right whatsoever. That includes the products and services you use, the clothes and food you buy and r he impact the country you live in has on the world and it’s people etc.
We're simping for rich assholes now? The same rich assholes who caused 80% of the pollution that supercharged climate change? Nah fam, fuck them. That "class" of Humanity is very destructive, ignorant and straight up worthless. We need to cull them if we plan on fixing our species and this planet.
LOL this reads like a Disney employee astroturfing yelp reviews. "What's you say the name of that useful app was? Genie+? And it's both convenient AND easy to use? Well that's IT: I'm cancelling my Universal trip, and booking for DISNEY!"
"anti-Semite" is seen by many to be an antisemitic term these days. You're now an antisemitic piece of shit. End of story.
That's your read? It's just an onboarding strategy. It sounds pretty on paper right now. Until the Series S holds software development back. At which point they either force developers to make two versions of every game they make, or they abandon players who bought an S and now can't play on it without the console overheating. It'll come fast. There's already games that run like rubbish on the S. As per usual for Microsoft, short term strategies for short term gains. They're still squarely third place, and have been for years. Let us curb the enthusiasm a lil bit. I get that people in America who are used to every-thing-subscription can't see this, but the reality is that the vast majority of people a Netflix of games, and you don't need Game Pass to enjoy the vast majority of games that sell best. I don't like it either but the future's more free-to-play than sub-to-rent.
I can't seem to find the coorpotations i own according to this motherfucker, maybe because the last time i checked i'm fucking broke and the 5% of the population of the world owns the 95% of the wealth. And of course he's a libertarian, manure grade fucking person, prolly a child molester.
A guy across the street will idle his bike for about 15 minutes at 3 or 4am multiple nights per week. I assumed he was going to work at first but then he just drives round the corner and comes back lmao. I dunno if his bike is busted and he needs to "warm it up" every night or he's just super autistic or something but it's selfish as fuck - people are trying to sleep. I'm boxed in by people who have dogs but leave them unattended during the day when they go to work. Lots of loud yapping, very inconsiderate of the owners. Quite a few got them during the pandemic when they were home a lot. I'm glad I have nice headphones when I'm trying to work. One neighbour uses a really strong power washer in his garden and it sprays water into my garden which is mildly irritating when I'm trying to dry shit. People being very territorial over communal parking spaces - I don't drive but my partner does and people are insane about it. Can't wait till we own our own place with a dedicated driveway. Also folks parking badly or in ways that stop everyone from making the most of the spaces (like parking a few feet from a double yellow line). Folks just being loud and boorish in general - if I can hear you through the wall of my house you're being too fucking loud. Think about what you're doing lmao.
I dont really care if people pirate and I pirate myself for retro stuff but I find a lot of posters here to be overly sanctimonious about how obviously they rip their own cart for every game like its the norm and its totally not a problem that huge swaths of the internet are playing a big release a week early and casually spoiling things.lmao come off it, no one with a shred of common sense believes that the primary users of emulators are by people using legit copies they ripped themselves
Wont somebody please think about the developers! Meanwhile game developers and publishers are spending thousands of hours of their lives and billions of dollars finding new and improved ways to utilizie behavioral psychology to psychologically manipulate hundreds of millions of people out of money and use addictive gambling techniques to prey on people with severe gambling addictions (something that fucking ruins lives and rips apart entire families) into spending every penny they have to enrich themselves and their bosses.
Someone’s “passion” is hurting people and the forum just makes excuses over it because they enjoy knowing stuff early. Pretty sad really.
I dunno, someone admitting they are willing to hurt devs even only a little because it's "fun" seems pretty fucked up to me...
EDIT: Removing my original comment since it was honestly too mean. I'll just summarize and say that what constitutes to "only a little damage for the devs" is not for you to decide, and I'm sure every developer who has had a surprise ruined in service of someone else leaking it for fake internet clout would think it's extremely not cool.
This is a thinly veiled attempt at console warring, but there is a huge difference between leaking promotional material like the Alone in the Dark leak, stuff that you’ll likely see on Amazon and leaking in-game content probably not meant for public consumption outside of those that will play the game. Both leaks suck, but one leak will likely lead into spoilers, and that’s incredibly unfair not just to the devs but the fans waiting years to play the game.
Sony is on the defense. After the PS5. Xbox will dominate. This is probably the beginning of the end of the good ol' Days for Sony. They need to work on building more exclusives to compete and keep core Playstation players by going back to indie/small exclusives. bloodborne for example.
They/them need to go to jail for their crimes. They/them should be help responsible for all the really shitty behavior they’ve done. I didn’t know anything about Ezra miller until all the threads here and they/them seem like a colossal asshole
1 looks like fucking dogshit so all OG PC gamers who enjoy it like that are clowns.
I don't understand why any person with functioning brain cells would want to own a Tesla. They are engineered with hubris first and consumers last. I'm not even sure if owning a Tesla fits the definition of ownership since the company has more sway over what the vehicle can or can't do than the owner. And heck the company will even go out of its way to incriminate their customers when the product malfunctions or is misused and for some reason people see, or ignore, those news and keep buying them. For all I know or care, it's a fucking cult at this point.
Why the hell do admins on this forum hand bans left and right?A ban should be used as a last resort, not for the dumbest reasons I keep seeing here.Y'all need to chill tf out with the bans. On topic : I can't believe stuff like this still happens in 2022.Makes my stomach turn how some people can take someone else's life over something so trivial.
Well this just comes across as hilarious tone deaf and out of touch, if not outright apologetic. And I hate the "well, they do it for free so don't critique them" mentality. It's a terrible cop out. lol work with what exactly? The modding here is incredibly opaque. There's a token appeal system that no one actually responds to. And when mistakes are made or folks have issues, it's a "move on or we'll shut down the thread to stop people from talking about it". Frankly, there kind of hilarious parallels to the American policing system that are blatant and deserves to be called out for what they are - a binary zero tolerance approach with an apparent lack of interest in understanding the community it moderates and so instead resorts to heavy handed tactics to achieve the "peace".I mean, you say that but that's literally the issue people have with all this. None of that is actually taken into account here by the mods. If it was, then I'd think we'd see a lot more actual engagement, especially in situations like this one - "hey, your post comes across as problematic for the following reasons. Is that what you actually meant or is the wording just a bit off?" Which, instead causing of a multipage thread derailment like you see here, would likely just result in a simple back and forth that could have helped shed some light on the matter. But that would require some, you know, effort. On a certain level, I feel like it's just general trait of authoritarianism under any and every denomination. Belief has to be absolute with zero room for even conversation because conversation leads to doubt, doubt leads to questions, and questions lead to change. And if you don't want or can't handle change, you shut down the conversation.
Wasn't Bridget groomed by her parents to dress and act like a girl? I don't know what kind of message they're sending, but from my perspective, it seems like they're kinda unintentionally implying that transgenderism is a result of child abuse and grooming.
jfc, there's money, sex, AND a kid involved. Just write that money off and move on. She'll be back in your DMs next time she's broke.
It is astonishingly naive to decouple emulation from piracy. This is literally gun control debate, only about videogames. "Does emulation hurt or IS IT THE PERSON BEHIND IT", I mean come on. Emulation is literally the fastest and most efficient way to enable piracy. You can defend all of its fair uses -- and as someone who uses emulation myself for older consoles like the GBA, I do think there's a lot of innocuous ways to use emulation -- but to even remotely deny that the vast majority by a huge margin of people who use emulators aren't exactly playing copies of games they own themselves, is just ridiculous. It's impossible to have a serious conversation about that until people (primarily emulation enthusiasts or emulator users themselves -- go figure eh?) come to terms with the basic facts of reality. And while we grapple with that, publishers will keep making studios user harsher and harsher forms of DRM because they've realized by now asking us nicely isn't gonna cut it. This works for small transactions, not consoles. This is the Steam excuse. Steam became popular because of sales, and because of very small prices comparatively. If Steam cost 300 bucks, you bet it wouldn't have turned the PC gaming market around lmao. Also to respond to the question more directly: The Vita had such a hilariously poor third party support because a lot of PSP's third party developers quickly realized how much their games were being pirated especially in the west, to such an extent where even just porting them would be a massive loss, so they abandoned the hardware entirely and moved to another platform. To this day there is no western release of games like Monster Hunter Portable 3rd or its HD PS3 port, despite it being the fourth best selling game in the entire franchise (and especially considering it only came out in Japan and Korea). The Dreamcast was also notoriously easy to pirate to such a pathetic extent that it basically didn't even require any additional hardware or software and I have never in my entire life met anyone who had a Dreamcast collection of legal games that's bigger than the huge CD folder filled with burned CDs. I know people like to say that it was Shenmue's development that nearly fucked SEGA over, but anyone with a hint of reason can say it likely cost SEGA far more money to research, develop and manufacture Dreamcasts than the 70 million they paid to make Shenmue. Piracy fucked the Dreamcast, not Shenmue.
