Thread Hades |OT| Ah Hell, here we go again (Out of Early Access and on Switch!)
Hey, first off, we're very sorry to hear you ran into this. Paraphrasing the following info from a post I made on Reddit, as we want to make sure to address any cases of this we hear about. We've been investigating this issue ever since we started hearing scattered reports, and are now actively testing a solution. A few notes: - Far less than 1% of our players have run into this and it's only on the Nintendo Switch version (knowing it's very rare may make it feel even worse to encounter; we sincerely apologize) - We suspect the source of this issue is a specific combination of Mirror of Night Talents. To reduce the already-very-low chances of this issue, (don't go all-in on some while skipping others) - If you wish to continue play before this issue is resolved, please start on a new save slot instead of deleting the one that won't load - We suspect our fix may make it so you will be able to resume play from the save slot that currently does not load We really appreciate your patience as we get to the bottom of this and will do our best to get you back to playing without interruption ASAP. While we believe we're close to a fix, the insidious nature of this type of bug is that setbacks can happen in the testing, and deploying patches on the Switch is not an instant process, so we don't have a good ETA right now other than "as soon as we possibly can".

Hey, I'm very sorry to hear this -- we're actively investigating what might have happened here. It probably feels even worse knowing the issue is rare. We don't know this for sure right now but one possible work-around is just to quit out after X hours of play if you happen to have been playing for many hours in a row (or just left the game running). But that is just a guess right now.

Right on, thank you in turn for your support. I hope you enjoy the v1.0 update -- we tried to save the best for last with this one. It was really interesting to figure out the answer to "how do you properly end a game you're supposed to be able to play endlessly".

Hey, the Switch version of Hades does not have in-game Achievements in the way that it does on Steam (since the equivalent platform-specific feature does not exist). There is an in-game system called the Fated List of Minor Prophecies that's similar to an Achievements system and that of course is in both versions.

Hey, yes, the game is 720 undocked and docked, targeting 60fps. As a frame-rate-sensitive player myself, I can say the game will not necessarily maintain 60fps in all situations. But it should stay there the vast majority of the time (except when things get really gnarly with your character build and the particular encounter). Hopefully it will not be a source of distraction or even noticeable but I know how it is wanting that 60fps locked down cold. Hope you enjoy the game if you get a chance to check it out.

We've been completely focused on this launch and the platforms the game is now available on. While we don't have immediate plans for additional platforms, we haven't ruled anything out. If you're familiar with our past games, we've brought them to different platforms over time, as the opportunities presented themselves and made sense to us. Appreciate your understanding on this -- I wish we could just magically bring our games to every platform under the sun all at once and have each version be immaculate, but the reality is it's intricate work that requires dedicated focus, especially for teams of our size (~20 people).

Thread Hades Review Thread [91 MC, 92 OC]
Hey, we are targeting next month (this October) for the update that includes cross-saves. Thank you for your patience on that. Players sometimes have questions about the exact mechanics of how it works -- I don't want to say too much about that yet because that's some of the stuff we are still sorting out as part of the final implementation. We are aiming for cross-saves to be compatible with both the Steam and Epic Games Store versions of the game. I can't say too much more for the reasons mentioned.

Thread Hades Review Thread [91 MC, 92 OC]
Hey, regarding Switch frame rate -- I replied to Suriel about this on Twitter and I'll post something here. Media outlets that got prerelease Switch code from us played on a version about a month old. We could not update it on the back-end for administrative reasons. We disclosed them about this and let them know to expect a launch-day update. The version being sold today is updated and has many improvements and optimizations. (If you're wondering "how much stuff can you really fix/improve in a month", the answer is: a lot.) We targeted 720p 60fps for Hades for the Switch. There may be situations where it will dip from 60fps, but they should not be frequent and hopefully not distracting to your play experience overall. In other words I hope it's not like what's described in that tweet (though if your experience matches that tweet, do let me know).

Thread Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice |OT2| Domo Arigato, Mr. ROBERTOOOOO!!!
I joked about wanting to post something here in another thread but I'm just going to do it. Nothing substantive, just to say Sekiro is my favorite game in a while. I haven't stopped thinking about it since finishing it and it's been a few weeks. So many times in the game it felt impossible to me but I kept finding a way to scrape by. I chickened out on some optional fights, which I still think I should come back to, and keep wondering how NG+ will go. Playing through it made me return to Dark Souls 2 and 3, Bloodborne, and Ashen, just to compare and contrast. I really like the choice of making the game about a specific character and grew very attached to Wolf and the other characters, more so than in Souls games. I was blown away by both the quality and quantity of unique character animations for all the different bosses and whatnot, and some of the environments were amazing too. I played with English VO and thought that was surprisingly good as well (though From's English VO has been great for years). I'm really looking forward to seeing where From goes from here.

Thread Supergiant raises price of Hades during Epic Mega Sale unannounced, despite posting earlier they would give warning if they did. (UP: price reduced)
You can imagine I don't want to bump this thread, though I do want to respond on this point. That original price you refer to stemmed from a miscommunication between Supergiant and Epic, and was not intended. Early this morning I responded to some customers about it via Twitter prior to fully realizing what was wrong. I'm sorry for the confusion that caused. We have additional remarks on our web site about what happened, posted elsewhere in this thread. Anyway -- if you're willing to give us the benefit of the doubt on this one, thank you.

Thread Epic Mega Sale is now live ($10 off every game priced $14.99 and up!) [Read Staff Post]
Hey, I'm one of the developers of Hades. I wanted to personally apologize for the confusion around the sale pricing -- the lower sale price earlier today was in error. To folks who picked up the game at a reduced price, we're grateful for their support, and we hope they enjoy the game. To everyone else, the corrected sale price is a 25% discount off of the previous $19.99 retail price (regional pricing varies though should be equivalent). The game's retail price is now $24.99, which we think reflects the game's current value in Early Access based on all the additions and improvements we've made since launch. I lurk on this forum but haven't posted much, though will keep an eye on this thread if there's anything else I can do at the moment. Really appreciate your understanding here.

Hey, I'm going to crosspost this from our Discord. I hope someday I can come back to this forum and talk about Sekiro or something rather than have to post stuff like this, but we screwed up, and I screwed up personally in handling a lot of the communication today. Thank you for the feedback on this thread and the main thread about the sale. ________ Earlier today, Hades became available at a significant discount as part of the Epic Mega Sale on the Epic Games store. We communicated poorly in the hours that followed, and want to clear things up., our original launch price. With the Epic Discount, you can get the game for $10 off that price right now, through to the end of the sale on June 13. After the sale is over, . We had intended to raise the retail price of the game soon, but made the decision rashly as part of the sale -- we didn't provide advance notice to our customers, despite previously stating we would do so. That was our mistake, and we sincerely apologize. To all our players, thank you for your patience and understanding around this.

Epic Games handles the transaction. For our part we will follow up with them to make sure this happens.
