ThreadStar Wars Rebels |OT| Counting down to a New Hope and the Last Jedi
This is what I thought. You even see her walk toward the triangular walkway in Season 2, so my thought is that even then, Ezra had stepped through time to save her and we just never saw it. Her next step was always going to happen...
...being that her spirit animal, the owl, taking her to the portal that is in this temple (if that's how it works). We can see that from the artwork here: By the look of the portal, I think she's going to Lothal. So, I guess the rest of the force users will be together for a R1-like ending?
Also, Vader was on the surface outside the temple in that episode, so I'm sure anyone could get out. I think Maul was manipulating Ezra like he did luring him to Obi-Wan. The spirit animal was taking Ahsoka there on purpose, just like the loth-wolves guided Ezra. But who is the owl??? Was it the will of the force that Dume brought Ezra to the temple to stop the Emporer from figuring it out, or to save Ahsoka? I think once we find out what happens to Ahsoka, we'll get an idea.
I may be wrong about all of this.
ThreadMichael Fassbender (300, Assassin’s Creed, Jonah Hex, The Snowman) to star in KUNG FURY
Thread title took me a while to read. I already saw it ended with Kung Fury and knew there would be news today, but my eyes started on the Michael Fassbender. I felt like I was stuck in a moment in time, thinking "Am I really about to read this? It can't be, but let me think about this movie for a minute."
Then, I got to the part of the title that reads KUNG FURY, and went back to the beginning of the sentence to make sure I read the actor name right. Along the way, I was reading over the film titles trying to think of another actor in all four that would be more appropriate.
Then, I got back to Michael's name for confirmation, and all I could think is, "Oh, yes!"
This is my next goal - I'm just one boss into NG+. In NG+, I don't feel as OP as I do in Souls games, so this is cool and will still make the DLC challenging. I'm def getting in on launch, glad we got a date!
They can be just as tough, but the combat is so good you can master quickly. First attempt at last boss, I beat it. 1 or 2 other bosses took some time, but I'd say this game isn't about bosses like Souls games are.
Learning to block is helpful. Let yourself get hit as long as you're blocking, and open the enemy up for attacks. First run-through of new area: if feeling safe, always target armor, but go ahead and target blue areas for quicker kills, then subsequent explorations, always have a goal of what to target on an enemy. It wasn't until later on that I realized that by targeting the torso, I'm getting the material I need to upgrade a torso. This can focus the grinding to be less grind-y and more of a temporary 'farming'. The benefits here are: it doesn't take long to farm if you have a goal, and you can practice using other weapons and get good at combat.
For armor types, go full set to get a bonus that will also maximize the use of different mods. Use this experimenting while farming. If you don't mind me asking, which area and what was the mini boss?
If we're talking about the same thing, that is something that can be tackled later. In fact, I faced it way late in the game (it's optional, but the reward is awesome!). There are many times I came back to an area later on. For instance, wanting to farm a Mark (i,ii, etc) of gear, or to get into conduits that require I higher level. In the first area there's a 52 conduit that does take a while to get back to. But, the way the shortcuts work in this game make traversing without fast-travel not a pain at all really.
One weird thing I didn't really get until later is jumping. There's some weird jumps you can make in this game that don't even look like jumps.
Also the drones! They are very helpful. One specifically helps with humanoid bosses.
Apparently you can access it from the beginning of the game. So that does leave the question of how it would scale with your level. I'm guessing it's in-between? I can see where DLC can be used to pull people back in to games like this if it's accessible early, whereas with BB and DS, you had to get to a certain point - and I even had to look online for how to access them. EDIT: But DS and BB could get away with it because of how successful they were.
Just beat it tonight! That was a cool last level with how it connected and all the shortcuts. These guys are masters with levels to explore. I love it.
Beat the boss on the first try, but I did have a max weapon/armor set and had been fighting enemies so much, that enemies became no problem.
Too bad I couldn't explore more after beating the boss - I saw one last spot I needed to explore and I didn't unfortunately.
I've returned to The Surge since the free weapon DLC came out. I originally got about a 3rd of the way through, but its difficulty stopped me from progressing. I'm a huge Souls fan btw, and also love Nioh.
I came back to The Surge hoping these new weapons would help. They didn't, but I missed the combat so much that I stuck around and decided to grind a bit. This helped, and I love how much grinding can be a meta game in combat. I would target specific enemy types, specific body parts, and get the gear and materials I needed, testing out different weapons and implants in the process.
During this time, I explored the world more. It's not a big world (relative to the Souls games - it's still big), and there's no fast travel, but it is very well implemented. Shortcuts are in the right places so traveling from one end to another really isn't a chore. And like Souls, you sometimes figure there should be a shortcut around, and exploring to find them uncovers secrets as well as secrets you know you can come back to later.
I could talk about this game forever, and I hope others here have played it too. If not, give it a try, and ask me questions if you're stuck!
Yes, I think near the end of the year for sure. It's an amusement park, and there are apparently two shortcuts to it from the beginning and end of the game....this really helps with that connectivity of the game world I was talking about. Also, I'm right at the last boss, planning to fully explore before NG+. So, I'm ready for the DLC!
ThreadAtheist/Agnostic-Era: How Did You Come to Terms?
I just went with it, but my parents were never really religious. Once middle school came out I started thinking deeper about life. Also, science got a little deeper. One day in class, I just asked about the possibility of a God not existing because it didn't seem likely. I forget the response, but we moved on quickly.
Thinking back, the counselor was there too, so the topic must have been around that and they were there to help guide the convo. This is was 96 or 97.
ThreadOfficial PUBG Mobile Released on iOS & Android in the US
Note 8 and iPhone SE, it's crazy to play this on mobile considering the scope. This is a changing point with mobile gaming. There's nothing stopping battlefield, cod, battlefront, etc if there's money to be made .
ThreadStar Wars: The Last Jedi |OT3| The War is Just Beginning (Unmarked Spoilers)
Personally, I try not to get tripped up on something looking "real" or something looking "fake". While it's obvious some of the CG didn't age well, the story teller is setting a scene and not trying to convince you that the two human actors are actually swimming to an underwater city with a real gungan. This sort of comes off as me telling you not to think that way, but I don't mean it. I guess it's just one less emotional response that I tie to filmmaking.
For instance, the space battles in TLJ look like obvious CG (fake-camera perspective does look like a cartoon). I prefer the use of models. But, I get that Rian Johnson is showing me an X-Wing. In fact, did I hear right that there were no model ships created for filming in TLJ (other than sets)?
I would end this with "if we're being honest about it", but come on! I don't want to try and get smarmy here! I love talking Star Wars.
Do we have the same shmup community here from the other place? This is my favorite genre. But, it tends to favor vertical and new games aren't as interesting.
Raiden V was ok, Sine Mora is even on Switch and it never grabbed me. Crimson Clover <--- that one is honestly amazing. Danmaku Unlimited 2 is great.
What I want is a new Thunder Force. That's my favorite series, even if Gradius V is one of my favs. With TF, you have stage variety, atmospheric music that gets badass metal-like by the 4th game. And awesome bosses.
Like Shrines and Korok seeds, this is a way to engage the mobile game market. This allows for quick pick up and play that could last for a long time, cementing the function of the Switch. I wrote a script for a video on this, and watching this video has helped push me to think about possibly actually probably getting around to making the video...
ThreadRTTP: Revenge of the Sith (It's still pretty decent, better than TFA)
I just got done watching this with my brother. It is my favorite Star Wars movie. While not exactly acted out the best, I understand the tragedy and it is moving. The action is awesome and so many threads in the background get resolved in a fulfilling way.
And when I saw these movies in the theater, I disliked them. But getting over the acting and special effects, with an understanding of the world-building, I love these movies.
I'd say it's better than TFA. TFA is a well-made film, but I like things that have the touch of a wild imagination, especially in this vast world that has been created.
ThreadMiddle-earth: Shadow of War |OT| Reattempted Mordor
Wow this OT is a ghost town. After 49 hours of AC: Origins, this is pretty underwhelming and feels low-quality for a WB game from Monolith using the IP it has. But I enjoyed the first one and so the combat variety is coming back to me and I really enjoyed that. I saw some great tips from the first page. Any new findings since release? Trying to figure out a fun game play loop. I'll be sticking with it because the nemesis system along with the combat is definitely fun.
EDIT: Also, when playing on PC with max settings, sometimes the game will go low-res and slow. I have a 1070 and AC: Origins never did that. I'll be searching around.
ThreadAssassin's Creed Origins |OT| Stalking in Memphis
Explore ahead in higher level regions and find quests that are levels above. If you become good at combat, it gets pretty easy to consistently get a lot of xp. I've skipped out on a lot of early quests for now because of minimal xp gain. I feel this game does an amazing job of this balance.
ThreadBlack Panther - Great story but didn't like it
I actually liked it despite filmmaking flaws. The idea behind the movie is greater than the sum of its parts.
Also, link to the Era BP thread mentioned in OP?
When others tell me they didn't like it, and they site the story, it makes me think if there's possibly a disconnect between the individual and compassion for humanity. I'm not saying people aren't compassionate, but in terms of being in a place in their life right now where they can't feel the non-fictional tragedy this movie is presenting. Maybe because these people have personal conflict that they can't relate. And hey, I'm white so it would be wrong for me to say I 'feel the pain', but there is a powerful impact to a superhero movie taking a second to tell the audience, "yeah we're using a real-world tragic scenario that is still a problem in the world", and asking others to to feel that in order to understand the motivations behind nearly everyone.
Great to see this thread. I remember Drive having a unique soundtrack, then Hotline Miami, then Miami Connection, then that Kavinsky Outrun album coming out, like it was a whole "wave" of music and style that didn't disappoint.
ThreadStar Wars Battlefront II |OT| This Deal is Getting Worse all the Time!
I'm in for clone content as well.
Also, is that Kashyyyk map with the Republic Cruiser on the ground new? Or did it just not come up often in previous matchmaking? It is the funnest map for me... the scale, the visuals, the objectives... wow. Think of an Utapau map with 212th clones everywhere and (here comes the wishful thinking) Grievous and Obi-wan as Heroes! Find those Boga things to ride around, multiple levels with different objectives.... it sounds so perfect.

Selling: Call of Duty WWII Ditigal PS4
I accidentally still had my PS4 Digital copy of Call of Duty WWII pre-ordered from Amazon, no refunds. So, I put the game for the price, minus tax, if that's fair.
I think I bought one thing on the old forum. Still waiting for feedback to be carried over. But I'm member number 24 if that helps.
EDIT: I got a refund from Amazon after speaking to another rep.
