Managed to hit the 52 with barely any time left.. ... full post is ! Also congratulations to the following people beating the challenge and getting into the Hall of Fame for 2019 (and a self clap to me on the end); If you beat the challenge (there's still time), please send me a DM as outlined in the first post so I can add you too!

Thanks Ted, as ever happy to help! Hope next year goes well for you and we get to see you posting in the new thread as it goes. :) Speaking of which, the above folks have managed to hit the ever illusive 52 this year so I've added them to the first post. Congrats all! Now I need to go back into hiding so I can try to catch up in an attempt to get on the list myself :D

This was a difficult read given the game is one of my favourites, arguably my favourite of all time. Controls are a fair criticism, they've not aged too well but the rest :O. Music especially I'd consider among the best to its day, and far beyond. I can listen to a track and picture the environment and atmosphere they're after. And the visuals create such a dense and varied world, all of which under a 3mb file size! And the bosses! And the level design! I can't imagine such a feat being achieved today under the same constraints. If there was magic and wizardry in this world, Super Metroid being made in all its splendor is it lol. A long lost artform of game development at its most ambitious whilst under unreasonable constraints

2R8-KNC-5RG Was an absolute nightmare to make as the timing had to be perfect but difficulty wise it should be far easier than the last one, and its short! I'd like to have submitted my first level, but given the difficulty it'd probably be unwise given I expect most won't past the first jump. Anyone looking to play that level still can find it /sweat

Appreciate the attempts! I actually had a checkpoint after the first area, but then upon realizing that I'd need to beat the entire level without a checkpoint on the upload anyhow it felt unfair to ask that of myself and not of others lol :D Was surprised to see how much progress you made so fast, when so many others either couldn't pass that first jump or took silly amount of tries to get used to it. You've probably got further than anyone else at this point, though there's still a handful of people trying to beat the level still. The trick with the spinies is to start on the left side; they align up in your favor that way. A little bit of a cheeky cheese, but felt I could get away with such setups given what the rest of the level asks of the player up to that point lol.

There's 3 more jumps after the bullets. The first one is trivial, and has a reset door. The second is no threat and more of a puzzle (that is used on a lot of other levels), and doesn't need resetting. The third one is mechanically simple but honestly is a bit bullshit in that you need to solve it under pressure. None are a threat if you play carefully, at least not like that shelljump, and can all utilize the reset door from the first. You've got this :D

At 2925 attempts between 332 players I'm giving up hope of getting the first clear. For my second level I've distilled the challenge and struggle from my prior level to create this raw utter hot trash bullshit, good luck . To its benefit its a single screen level, and incredibly short, so shouldn't be too tall an ask to beat for the first clear this time. (KWX-2Y8-XLG)!

Welcome to the site, the fact that I frustrated you enough to register makes me incredibly happy lol. Once you're up the spike elevator, which it sounds like you've managed, then you need to take the shell from the block and use it to jump up to the sliding slope. The blue power blocks are the hint; if you run and release at the first, then follow it off the ledge you'll be able to bounce up easy enough. It looks scarier than it is, its one of the easier kaizo tricks.

The timing of the red/blue block switching had me a little there. Really like short and sweet moderate challenge clean jumps levels. Could be good to telegraph where to jump with coins or arrows given it's a fast scroll often off screen.Cool simple level reminiscent of what you'd get from a typical Nintendo warm up levelUnderwater levels will forever be my bane, but grats on being my first for MM2 :D. Thread [Kotaku] Riot Games is now being investigated by the State of California for gender discrimination
Many of those avenues didn't exist until the first expose, and wide sweeping changes have opened up various channels of communication across the organization where we very frequently see open engagement on tough topics like arbitration. Also I specifically said it was a double sided sword and pointed out some of the pros and cons, and don't dismiss the value the initial media visibility (including the one arbitration) into the topic affords internal conversations before the decision to walkout occurredI'm just trying to address the topics and accusations raised in this thread, and agree as much it's individuals and the culture in general but my point remains that steps have been taken since the expose illuminated the issue to vastly improve as an organization (and by no means is the end of them). I'm trying to be genuine in my advocacy that the vast majority of employees at Riot are great individuals with good intentions that are working together to try and resolve and improve the challenges we've faced in this area, have made great process and plan to make more. And some of the assumptions and baseless rumors that are thrown around here is tough to read when there's a lot more nuance to the topic than gets exposed and I'm still at Riot because I strongly believe it's at large a fantastic place of work, with good intentions to employees and players alike, from bottom to top employees, and plans/efforts to only get better.A fair observation but please try to see where I'm coming from that reading "they encourage you to stay and play games with your fellow developers instead of going home to your family", "the expectation that you would play for absurd hours" and "It is probably an anecdote from QA at Riot" from 'random individuals' with only external visibility to the company is tough to swallow as someone who has for years been inside the company, as QA, with a lot hands on first person experience to the polar opposite of such statements.

Thread [Kotaku] Riot Games is now being investigated by the State of California for gender discrimination
It's a double edged sword. On one hand its great to stand alongside the employees that are involved in them, alongside other companies that recently went through this such as Google and Microsoft and advocate for the policy change around them. On the other hand there are, and were presented, other avenues that could have been taken that doesn't bring further media attention and create opportunities for the walkouts intention to be taken out of context or misconstrued to escalate various negative narratives. It seems far too common that individuals paint a picture of companies like Riot being operated by an evil isolated dictatorship, ensuing to a fight of good vs evil. The reality is that Riot the individuals from bottom to top, and many of those supporting, advocating and participating in the walkout (and the various efforts across the company to these ends) are those in leadership positions throughout the company. The us vs them mentality is hyperbolic and ill informed. The expose was heartbreaking and distressing but has been a net positive for Riot as a company, resulting in many vast wide-spread positive change throughout the company with many more still being executed upon and planned going forward. The repeated narrative of there being no change, or that Riot has simply swept these matters under the rug, including from this thread is simply not the case and grossly ill informed. Regarding the action taken against the allegations, there were internal and unbiased 3rd party external investigations. I don't have access into those, though nor would I speak to them if I did, but I appreciate that 'allegation' doesn't mean 'guilty' and for those that are there's a spectrum of severity to the actions accused and the outcomes that follow. I appreciate eagerness to see heads roll in all cases, and whilst many did, not all need to.Please don't judge individuals by how they look, let alone on a video or in a thread that is advocating and in support against such things. You're dismissing the words of two people who work at the company, then assuming to know better than those individuals whilst also misconstruing who 'the people at Riot' are and even conclude with a toxic remark that demonstrate how attached to your narrative you are.I didn't say this site, I said sites these. Because some of these baseless and even ridiculous fabrications of actuality tend not to come from credible sources.I'm engaging, far more than I arguably should given the agendas I'm not going to get past, but try not to assume I also don't have friends or family that share the challenges you outline, or work alongside many that are working hard to systematically resolve them. Including those from junior positions to high leadership ones. Nor you shouldn't assume we aren't trying hard to resolve and improve on these challenges from within already. You're probably right, but for the time being here I amThankfully Riot celebrate engaging with our audience, and I'm not here to argue with anyone but simply trying to discuss the topics and challenges of this thread, with the context that I have available. I also don't want to dismiss the claims against individuals at Riot, past or present, like your linked Tweet.

Sure Flare; and you've certainly also not demonstrated the lynch mob mentality I refer to multiple times already in this thread alone. The automatic response to assume the worst of a given game studio in scenarios like these and eagerness to extend the spicy narratives continues to surprise me.Assumptions just like these are extremely damaging, baseless and continue to spin a narrative that simply isn't true.Don't believe everything you read, especially on gamer forums like these. I find statements like these especially ridiculous, and they go to show how eager folks are to believe the narrative they're after.

I'm currently using a pair of . I used to use a pair of coupled with an mic, but stopped using them after a few years when the Antlion mic got chewed through (for the second time, thanks cats) and I happened to get the HyperX's as a present at the same time. Unquestionably the Sennheisers (and the mic) was superior in every way, but I guess the convenience of the HyperX's kept me from seeking a true upgrade. I've started playing more and more competitive multiplayer games (think Counter-Strike) and finding myself only using one earpiece in order to hear my own voice for VOIP, as I find the closed audio muffling my voice to feel awkward and an extra aside that I'm useless at maintaining my volume if I can't hear myself. Obviously this is a huge drawback, and even disadvantage in competitive games, so I'm starting to look for replacement alternatives. So far it's looking like a toss-up between a headset solution that supports sidetone/mic monitoring so I can hear my voice in real-time OR a headphone/desktop mic solution that's open and/or has a sidetone/mic monitoring solution of its own. It also seems a worthwhile time to step into wireless solutions, as a long-time wireless mouse user and hater of being tethered in general. From my own research I've seen the LS30/40 as a frequent headset solution (heavily tailored to sidetone support) and various combination of wireless headphones (Sony/Sennheisers) with a Blue Yeti microphone for the headphone/mic solution. Without a doubt the main usecase for the headphones will be gaming, and they will reside at my desktop most of the time. It'll be primarily PC gaming, though some PS4/Switch gaming compatibility wouldn't go a miss.

I've had them for 3months now, whilst Massdrop slowly prepared to ship the HD58x's. I received the Sennheiser's this week and I've not even the desire to open them. The headset has been a pleasure to use and I've valued the convenience of being wireless vastly more than I anticipated, I can't imagine going back to wires. Though that said the price is astronomical and I hear there isn't a significant enough upgrade from the Wireless Arctis 7's that came prior and can be purchased for much cheaper. The dual batteries are a nice convenience, but I've not made much use of the bluetooth support. PC to PS4 support is nice and I appreciate being able to use both at the same time magically, which works really nice since I game at my PC desk with dual monitors (aka can watch videos on PC and play PS4 with audio from both).

I'll be interested to see when I've got both if I'll opt to remain with the wireless gamer headset or double down on the Sennheiser's. Given I'll be looking to get a Modmic and amp if going down the Sennhesiers route it'll be a similar price. Anticipate it'll be a choice between wireless convenience and sidetone (which I adore with closed headphones) or superior quality and better gaming soundstage with open headphones.

Thread OK lets end this argument once and for all!Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 or Tony hawk Pro skater 3?
Only last week I got the urge to play the series once again and wanted to introduce it to my daughter, and was saddened by the state of its accessibility on modern systems. Ended up getting a PS1 for the first three... the series really deserves a g and complete port to modern systems. For this I'd go for Tony Hawks 2 hands down. Much preferred the level design and track list, though theres no denying how important reverts were to the series.

Recently getting back into the scene after a lengthy absence of PC gaming. I'm surprised to see so little presence of Xbox achievement hunters, especially coming off the X360 popularity (established gamerscores) and Xbox seemingly having the better ecosystem for them (fast/feature rich OS, in game achievement tracker overlay, monthly leaderboards, additional stats and rarity, etc). What gives ERA? Is it that there's just a stronger PS4 user base here, the lure of platinums or the lingering damage of the sloppy XOne launch/lack of strong exclusives?
