Thread Control: Ultimate Edition |OT| Always Wait to Experience
Several Control points were added and some soft checkpoints for the final main campaign missions. You can just use Assist Mode from Options to turn on one hit kills, immortality, aim assist etc, to make the combat as easy for you as you want without penalty.

It aint the same thing as old saves working, but dont forget the game's options include the Assist Mode, which gives you one shot kills, immortality, snap aim and several other options that you can use to make the game a lot easier for you, so you can progress faster if you wish. There's no penalty in using these options - you still get your Achievements and Trophies.

Thread Has Sony fixed the Playstation 5 Rest Mode?
Because a team just shipped a console back in November worldwide under a global pandemic and the effort to do that was incredible. People need a deserved break, catch their breath and analyse what are real problems and how to fix them. Software development is slow. Testing is slow. Sony pushed a surprising amount of firmware fixes by the end of the year. Its middle of January, people literally just got back into the swing of things, I cant really understand how there is expectation on bunch of updates first thing in January. Lets give developers time. I think both Xbox and Sony engineers did an absolutely incredible job for launch.

Thread PS4 to PS5 Game Upgrades are Region Locked??
Just got to the Japanese store and download it from there. You have a japanese copy so it should make sense any additional content you get, should match that version. Digital content is tied to regions. So if you got an USA PSN account, and you buy an Euro version of game, that'll work, but when you try to buy digital content for said game, that does not work, since the region of the store and the game dont match. This is very common for me as I play with an US PSN account, but mostly Euro versions of games. So if I try to buy digital content in Destiny 2 or Modern Warfare, I get an error message for the reasons mentioned above. So, the workaround is to buy digital currency in the right PSN store, like COD points and Silver and then once you log back into the game, that currency does show up and you can use it.

Thread Samsung Q90T / Q95T |OT| You know, I'm the best 4K QLED TV on the market.
I got the Q95T/55" three weeks ago. First two weeks were amazing, no ghosting or anything as I was on firmware 1302 (Europe) which had the fix for "inverse ghosting". For the past week I've begun to notice purple banding/ghosting and once I see it, I cant unsee it. Playing Tsushima and every building has a bit of a blueish outline is driving me nuts. The strange thing is that I had no firmware updates, yet this problem showed up...or did I just never notice it?!? The problem has not disappeared with 1304 firmware. What I didnt know and what is really annoying is that in Game Mode with HDR, roughly after six minutes, the screen dims/brightness goes down by about 20 and the only way to get it back to normal is to turn off Game Mode and turn it back on again. its not about any automated setting, it just happens. I love Samsung tv's and this model is spectacular outside of these problems that are seemingly specific to Game Mode. There is a very long thread over at Samsung about the issues and

Thread I'm so sorry, Remedy - I was wrong about Control
Thank you. Nice to see post like this :) Glad people are enjoying the game. The amount of QB comparisons after the first trailer at E3 2018 (we always wanted to go with a gameplay trailer as opposed to CGI to prove a point that we are making a video game, not a game/movie like QB) caught us by surprise, but we were pretty deep in making Control at that point so you are blind to these things. We were pretty confident we had a solid game, so as long as people would try Control, I thought we'd be fine. We did actually have total freedom to make the game we wanted from the publisher and since we had a solid vision from the beginning, we were able to get a game done in a little over three years. Sure, you could always use more time, but you gotta ship at some point when there's a window of opportunity. Trust me, devs like us know whats ok and especially whats bad in the game and it hurts us the most when there's stuff we know could have been better. We tried our best. Thanks for all the support in 2019. 2020 is gonna be busy for Remedy!

The press trip for Grand Theft Auto: Vice CIty in Miami was legendary. I got see 45 minutes of the game, but the best part was hanging out with Dan Houser and hearing Terry Donovan speak about the plans for the game. Such a great time, they were on the cusp of greatness at that point in July and they knew it.

Unfortunately the Asian release is going to be later, I believe that has been said a while ago. We get this is frustrating, but there's different hoops our publisher (and the game itself) has to jump through for those releases. The team at Remedy and 505 Games is really small, we just cannot do everything at the same time, that's the reality. We want to make sure everythings setup as well as possible for the game in Asia and that takes time. Sorry for that.

There are no multiple/choosable difficulty levels in Control, that's a misunderstanding in the Ars Technica article. We do have some missions/content that's far more challenging than the story missions, but all the balancing is something we are working on right now. We got a good enemy variety, I think you'll be positively surprised. I'm just looking at the Interface options in our game right now and yeah, at least currently, you can turn on/off a bunch of things like mission overlay, health/energy bars etc. I hope we ship with that stuff!

I would say yes. We know Alan Wake was a bit lacking in gameplay variety, we definitely had better variety in Quantum Break and hopefully the sandbox of Control is the best Remedy experience yet. In the footage that we've given out on Control and the demo people are playing at PAX, almost all abilities are unlocked and many weapon forms. Its not like you get all of that in the first few hours of the game. Plus there's so much weapon and ability customization to play around with.

Hmm...what we specifically told the press was that the expansions will come out quite a while after we ship the main game as we want to, obviously, make it as awesome as possible. We got a high level idea of the expansions, but we really get to work on those once we ship Control. Rest assured, we are focused on the game. On the other hand, we want our audience know, there is more Control to come post-launch, we are in a position to support our game, which we think is a good message. Both expansions will be available for all formats, though yes there is an exclusivity window.

Yep that, as well as by new Weird, Jeff VanderMeer. Some of the original sources if inspiration especially from a world building perspective was the movie Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and obviously Inception. Thread inXile: AA development costs have went from $5-$6 million in 2012 to $15-$20 million today
I dont want to get into looong specifics, but ...its not just the game team that grows. The bigger the game team is, the more HR, management, larger office, more epxenses, more of everything is required. It all adds up. Even more specialized people, so salaries are higher. etc. Feature expectation in games in this day and age is pretty much sky-high. None of its easy or simple to do. People also seem to forget that its not about just recouping the cost, its about keeping the studio going for the next few years, so even if you make a few hundred million, the publisher and developer need their cut and when you got thousands of employees...it all adds up.

Thread inXile: AA development costs have went from $5-$6 million in 2012 to $15-$20 million today
Yep, and everything around just costs more, living expenses go up, salaries slowly go up. The problem is really simple. Games mostly cost the same as "back in the day" yet now we make them with 5-10 times more people so the budgets are so much more. More people, bigger office spaces etc. Movie tickets have doubled up in price pretty fast, game prices have not.

Yeah, AW has so few tracks compared to something massive like Rockstar's games. Its not just about money, music licensing is incredibly complicated and in many cases, you need approval from all composers, producers of the songs and if one person decides to say no or is on the fence, thats it. Just getting to that point can be months or far longer.

It really is pretty easy once you are 520 or have 6 players below that who know what they are doing. Its that classic Ddestiny thing where sometimes I'm in there with randoms and it works like magic. Everybody dps the SAME boss at the end instead of going around shootin at everything else which is incredibly frustrating. Then you can have a group with more players and we cannot take down either boss...which is incredibly frustrating, but not the game's fault. Did Tier III last night for the first time with I think 7 players and it went really well as everybody concentrated on the same boss. Great feeling when you get through the encounter.
