Thread UK Games Industry Census Results - understanding diversity in the UK games industry workforce
I would say that the respondants are more likely to be those who aren't crunched. The survey came around when it was pretty chill at work, but its not like a 2 question survey. But the UK work life balance is good - but we also aren't perfect yet.

Thread Your dream Game Awards announcement
I'd love to see a new Batman game come out but my money is on a Wonder Woman game, it would work better with the movies at the moment and which ones are making the most money out of the DCEU. I'm actually really hyped, its the first time I'm going to see the awards cos I'm staying up for election results!

Thread What was the worst interview you have ever given?
I got interviewed for bbc radio 4, and ended up sounding like a posh turd, rather than the person in £72k of student loan debt. Ended up sounding like I wanted people to be in debt, that it was a character builder, when actually I was trying to explain the opposite. Also went to a job interview for a strawberry once...

Thread Kotaku: An easy mode has never ruined a game
So i'm pretty sure there's builds internally of Surgeon where the controls are "easier" Then again, Surgeon is pretty accessible. The VR version particularly so, as its pretty easy to do the surgery (if you can deal with the VR sickness)

Thread "The secrets of 'review-bombing': why do people write zero-star reviews?"
The thing with social media is that you can delete comments. Like one of my day to day jobs is deleting spam comments (e.g. "buy bitcoin here!") on our adverts & social media posts. quite lucky in that I've only once been asked to delete a negative comment (not at my current job, and cos they named an employees details) but its so easy to supress comments on ads and posts. Reddit is more difficult but is still possible (if comments are enabled) so steam and personal websites/review websites are the only place that the developers can't moderate.

Thread Borderlands 3 Details Leaked from 4chan; Set 5 years after the end of BL2, All brands returning except Bandit/Scav; Multiple planets
I did a focus group about this a while ago. Provided they've not changed anything, that 4chan leak is... well, its reminded me of things i heard. I'm still not sure what I was allowed/not allowed to say, esp as they forgot to make me sign an nda.

Thread "Mayhem is coming" Upcoming Borderlands game teaser
Having seen some things, I'm incredibly excited! I really hope that they listened to the feedback I gave them a few years back, but regardless as a borderlands fangirl i'm hyped

Thread "The secrets of 'review-bombing': why do people write zero-star reviews?"
I was meaning like: There have been review bombs for games because of sexist/homophobic reasons (like there have been games review bombed because the reviewers are sexist. an example that comes to mind would be the Avengers/ghostbuster movies, which often have been review bombed for the female-led movies. Another example of bad review-bombing: Firewatch was review-bombed because they refused to let pewdiepie stream their game because he used racial slurs. Another example of bad review-bombing: Total war being review-bombed because it had female generals. I don't think these games should have been review-bombed. (sorry, i wasn't clear, does this make more sense? )

Thread "The secrets of 'review-bombing': why do people write zero-star reviews?"
Personally I am mixed about review bombing. On one hand there are some incredibly unethical practices that are just bad. (and personally it gives me a example to go "here is why we shouldn't scrape someone's entire computer") On the other hand, sometimes its for reasons that aren't bad in my opinion. Like clothed women. And they can't be removed. Basiclaly when it's complaints I consider valid and useful I'm happy but when it's complaints that aren't I'm sad.

Thread If someone offered you a $100,000 after taxes in one lump sum payment to give up video gaming for 1 year, could you do it?
So I work in marketing. Most of my day is editing images or doing maths/publishing adverts. The only games related thing I *have* to do is discuss sales, and I can remove myself from most conversations once the topic moves off facts and figures. Like most of my day is get up, go to work, build adverts, work on targeting, etc. If I'm allowed to observe game media that is un-avoidable (e.g. seeing the word "games" come up on drop downs, typing competitors games into targeting) I should be fine. Thread Coffee cake is seriously underrated.
I have a recipe for a coffee and chocolate ganache cake. It's basically an entire pot of coffee and about half a kilo of chocolate with a dash of flour. Oh, and you add in a load of brandy/rum to make it even better. It's my go-to birthday cake.

Thread What is your typing technique?
I can touch type so asdfjkl; is required, as its how i learnt. However I know i freak people out by looking at them whilst typing (and not looking at the keys cos I know what i'm typing) one of my mates told me it used to scare him in lectures when i'd be typing and having a conversation at the same time.

Thread Apple Event announced for March 25th: "It's show time."
So i really like mobile games. some are actually really amazing. I'm thinking of games like this war of mine, the escapists. Even cultist simulator and other games are coming to mobile in 2019. Like surgeon simulator even went on iPad. Mobile games are awesome when done right. Then again, i'm also biased cos I like games i can play on my pc and mobile. I love my good solid RPG's but i also love playing a level of stardew valley in bed before sleep. MY gut says its not a streaming service. Then again, I don't know anything official

I've heard things (and know things) but it should be pretty good. Supposedly might need to be moved to gaming rather than forums .
