Thread PANZER DRAGOON: Remake |OT| Same Tower, New Power
It's a solid 6/10 for me. Zwei is one of my favorite games of all time, but the core gameplay satisfaction of hurling lasers towards painted enemies just lacks the visual and auditory punch of the classic games. Everyone's already has an opinion regarding that aspect, but the big detail I think a lot are missing on is the insane input delay. Easily a 1/3rd of a second delay on all reticle movement really makes it difficult to want to play over and over. When you do a camera turn or spin, it possible takes even longer. It's extremely delayed. Still, enjoyed the cutscenes and liked the environments more than the original. I hope they add a classic sound FX option for lock on, lasers and shots.

Slight area spoilers. Please tell me I wasn't the only one trying to light the 2nd torch while avoiding the fire shrine. 45 mins later, we were shocked it actually worked. I was secretly hoping it would give a mystery achievement.

In my defense, the video is not about or addressing the quality of the patch or adjustments to the netcode at all. As the title explains, it's specifically about a problem Capcom's FG division has had for a lot longer than the existence of SF5.

Damn! I really wasn't expecting this thread. 2020's gonna be nuts. Most insane March in videogame history. RE3 and FFVII Remake to immediately follow. MVC is back at Evo. New console generation right around the corner...and somehow this happens in-between it all. Very much appreciate the thoughts and support thru it all. <3

Thread Square Enix releases the opening movie for Final Fantasy VII Remake
The music composition and syncing with moments is actually incredible. Almost classic Disney like. While backstage watching the full Bombing Run demo, the producers kept saying how they want the action, the story and the dialogue to sync to match up to the music, and they spent a lot of time and resources making that happen. It's what makes all the beats of this intro so tear jerking and effective. Also to mention, musical beats to action and story is probably one of my favorite things ever. And for those of you who haven't played it...just get ready for the gameplay portions. I've seen this thing like 8 times now, and I can't help but feel extremely for Aerith as she looks away in fear of an unknown entity watching her...to then immediately cut to the bombastic pan-out Midgar theme. Shit-is-fucking-perfect.

Thread RTTP: Final Fantasy VII (Reunion + Remako mods)
It took me a solid 8 hours of testing and retesting to get everything to work...but I can confidently tell you it's worth it. The scenario updates in New Threat alone are actually incredible, and worth the title of 'Remaster' even if it's fanmade. If you enjoy FFVII, it's worth the effort and time.

Thread FFVII DEMO INTRO (Leaked)
The thing I'm most curious about is the loading. The behind the scenes demo featured no visible loading outside of starting the game. All scenes of the bombing run transitioned from one area to the next seamlessly. I didn't even notice it until after the presentation was over then realized...the game never visibly loaded anything.

Not a lot of people will be in office at Square USA or even Japan. I think most JP companies are on holiday until the first week of January and it's probably going to be a couple of days off for the USA crew until later this week. Some poor person's gonna get an angry email and have to head to the office to reconcile the situation during their holiday break...would usually be how this works. The E3 demo with the devs is already slightly different than the video. It's more like 90% familiar, 10% new.

Thread FFVII DEMO INTRO (Leaked)
Can report to you all that there's already differences from the E3 Behind The Scenes demo present in this. I'm not sure how much we want to talk about spoilers of the video in here...but some of the musical nods were not present as well as the actions of Aerith. How do I feel about them injecting these story elements in the first cutscene of the game...?

Thread There's been a lot of rumors floating around of a new Capcom fighting game to be announced at Capcom Cup 2019 - What do you predict it will be?
It's just hope. There's always hope. But unless it's coming from someone reputable, my faith in Capcom's FG division producing anything anytime soon (that isn't SF5 related) is extremely low.

Correct, it's been done. The direct and immediate success doesn't translate. It's almost like the characters and content sell more than the direct mechanics...while the mechanics will keep existing players playing longer.

Thread First Ever Footage of Riot Games' Fighting Game 'Project L'
3S is absolutly my favorite FG of all time and an incredible footsie heavy grounded FG. Although, with the addition of parry, it opened up aspects like jumping...if you knew what to parry and when. While it might not seem like it, parrying allowed the player more access to screen space and movement...more than any other SF. The SF3 series was also one of the first to allow the player to dash. I remember constantly practicing my buffer backdash/forward dash timing because you could rapid fire each hop that Ken/anyone took. Parry in general opens up a variety of mind games, including the 'empty jump' as well as several parry bait options. Approaching a matchup could be vastly different from one player to another because of this. SF3 actually had much more mobility options than SF2 and the Alpha series. It's a fast, in your face, moment to moment fighting game.....................that breaks down completely at high level, lol. We don't need more combos. Games don't need to be unga bunga to be fun. We need to have mechanics and character traits that allow for at least a little bit of human player expression...and that doesn't have to execution heavy at all. Power Rangers is a great example of that.

How you make a new Marvel Vs Capcom: A Success Story #1 Reveal teaser trailer with Ryu and Wolverine shaking hands, or possibly Cyclops for XMvSF nostalgia. #2 Announce with the teaser trailer, a re-release of MVC2, with GGPO online and an even more polished title than the 2008 re-release for all platforms. #3 Include at least 50 characters from MVCI/UMVC3, the all-stars if you will, and also launch with 10 characters new to MVC, or first time 3D modeled characters for the series, ala Cable/Psylocke. #4 Make it 3v3 with active tag, remove infinity stones BUT...give players the option of using classic assists as well, design a trade off between the two. Make the game have the best of both worlds gameplay wise, while adding even more crazy shit your team can do. #5 Make it a celebration of videogames like Smash Ultimate. Classic stages, costumes, music, DLC or otherwise from all the Vs. series back to Xmen COTA. People will eat that shit up. #6 Finally, make it visually like MVC3 without the caked in black shadows. Go over the top on the comic book artstyle, make lighting look really flashy and action packed, without dipping too far into the manga designed ArcSystem Works look. #7 Make all the money.

Thread [Maximilian Dood] Bring Back Killer Instinct #BringBackKI
Hi Era! I'm not much for making new threads on here, but figured I'd do my best to try... I'm starting an awareness campaign today to let the folks over at Microsoft Studios and Phil Spencer himself know how much we love Killer Instinct, and would like to see it return. From a Switch port of the Definitive Edition, to another KI on the next gen Xbox, us as fans are ready and willing to support. I'll be holding an event tomorrow on Twitch at 7pm PT on my livestream where I'd like to get the player count in-game and the audience numbers as high as possible in celebration of what I think to be one of the greatest fighting games ever. Fri, July 26th 7pm PT Thank you for any support this might bring and apologies if this comes across as a shameless plug or self promo. If anything, please ignore the video link and just hit up @XboxP3 on Twitter and let him know why you love KI so much, and would like to see it return.

There's around six guards Cloud confronts, one says something close to 'Dont' move!' and another screams 'You stand no chance!" Cloud reaches behind to holster his weapon. Cloud: "That's my line." Music while cloud rips out the sword and the player is given control. The guards continue to berate Cloud and his efforts during the fight, "Don't let him get away!" but cloud responds with one liners every time. "Should have tried harder." after smashing a Shinra guard into a wall.

Thread Is Maximilian Dood's intro the best youtube gaming channel intro out there?
All the official intros for Twitch/YT have always been compensated to the best of my budget/ability. Same applies to any editors who've done small gigs on my channel as well as musical compositions. I worked as a freelance illustrator/video editor for most of my life, and would like to support those who wish to have the same endeavor. And thanks for the comments on the intro. It's always been a plan to run the 'full length' intro for some months before it gets a shorter cut, which I'm already working on currently.

Even Adam Heart who worked on MVC Origins agreed with me. My hopes were dashed with this poster. MVC should be a celebration of videogames/comics/movies similar to how Smash Bros Ult treats its franchises and characters. Throwback stages, throwback music, new stuff along with the everyone is here mentality. It was awesome to see all the covers of MVC games comprise the background of the UMVC3 character selection.

Thread Rumor/Spoilers: Full MK11 Roster Leaked
If the whole roster dropped on a steam achivement list, I'd be reporting on it. If there was rumors being spread and characters were among the conversation, I'd discuss what's being spoken about and my thoughts on the situation. If someone in office is snapping pics, showing off the whole roster and several characters while others aren't looking to eventually get credibility with their group and leak onto the internet, it feels grimy. To me, there's a difference between information being made public on accident and intentionally against the well being of those you work with. Some people might not understand this context, which I understand. I know a lot of people will immediatly accuse me of being in NRS/WB's pocket by not reporting on this stuff, but I've already been very critical on the way MK11's gameplay is and the multitude of things I'm worried about. I'm more anxious to see what everyone says about the gameplay once the betas take place, becuase a lot of the folks that love MK in the past don't seem to enthusiatic about 11 after playing it. Either way. Leaks still suck, especially this one.

Devs, artists, QA, leads. This doesn't apply to NRS only. I've had pretty good relationships with Capcom/Namco and many others. However, it's never kept me from being critical about aspects of the games. Whether it's dealing with online in DBFZ, the many issues of SF5, or the slow and slightly boring gameplay of MK11. Verdict is still out on MK11 tho, as it's not even in beta yet.

Thread Rumor/Spoilers: Full MK11 Roster Leaked
Sorry, thought you were referring to who I knew in the games development. I'm not going to out anyone or speak for them, but I've had conversations with several MK9/MKX fans aside, including many fellow content creators. All these accounts played the game a similar amount of time as I did, and we were all fairly underwhelmed with how slow the game is and how there seems to be a lack of creativity in the combat. Although, we've all agreed that the game is early and there's no way to pull conclusions just yet(I've discussed this in videos already). The beta will be very telling how people feel about the combat in 11, and the possibility of it getting even better with hours and hours.

This does look good and more polished that what we got in MVCI. But, it still comes across as very safe and a little generic. The element that was great about MVC3 was the hard ink colored shadows and the highlight colors on all the characters in art and on screen. The trailer for MUA3 doesn't do these looking characters much justice.

The saddest part is that the exact same issue happened with UMVC3. A few updates would have made that game so much better, but they dropped it almost as fast as they did MVCI. It's the curse of Marvel Vs. Capcom. Having any developer support beyond three months after launch.
