ThreadActivision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick gave his cell phone number to all of his 10,000 employees amid the coronavirus crisis
To be clear, you usually provide a non work number that your manager, HR or Senior Management can reach you on, in case of emergencies. But there are usually permissions as to who can view personal info within the company. I can’t see my CEOs cellphone number cos... i have zero reason to hit up his cell lol
ThreadWhat do you think is the biggest brand in Gaming?
It is incredibly funny (read odd) to me that people seem to think 'Playstation' is a bigger brand than Nintendo, when on the list of the 100 best global Brands, , and last year, (let alone Playstation as a product sub division of Sony).
And that is not even considering all the brand recognition, strength and global goodwill Nintendo had prior to that point, over the last 3 decades at least.
Like it isn't even remotely close.
Commercially, Worms is an INCREDIBLY successful franchise.
It just hasn't had much output since WMD in 2016. You could argue that it has fallen off the radar, but it certainly isn't underrated.

These are the sort of presentations that get given to the folks who will create the software that will run on the platform in the first place. So no, the reveal doesn't need to have come first. This wasn't planned to be a consumer facing presentation in the first place, it was for GDC, aimed at developers.
ThreadDevelopers need unions. What actually has to happen for devs to get them?
Maybe someone can amend the title of the thread to include "videogame developers"
That way, those that the topic doesn't refer to can stop derailing it.
If anything it was a natural, inevitable evolution of content creation. The big paydays will pave the way for more creative brand deals.
Personally, i think the next big thing will be paid, professional moderators for content creators, on these platforms, assuming that isn't a thing growing in popularity already (most mods are volunteer as far as I know)

ThreadWhy is there so much blowback from people when asking for more gender & ethnic diversity in games?
From my almost 10 years in this industry, I can assure you that, the combination of those actively opposed to diversity & inclusion efforts, and those classed as apathetic, is almost an even split when compared to those of us actively pushing for increased representation in videogames and the workforce.
ThreadHypothetical scenario: How would the industry react if Microsoft suddenly started investing 10-20B per year in Game Pass exclusives?
Just to point out that Netflix is also saddled with a LOT of debt. Their content budget is $15 billion for 2019, and their debt load is currently $14 billion.
Their Debt/EBITDA ratio is around 6.7, considered high.
ThreadRichard Tyler Blevins (Ninja) believes bans for games shouldn't happen to content creators (Update: He regrets saying that)
No one should be cheating in the first place, and, if anything, hyper-visible content creators should hold themselves to an even higher standard than everyone else.
