Thread The Haunting of Hill House - TV's first great horror series - Friday, Oct 12 on Netflix
Just finished episode six, and I think that's enough for one day. It's dark now, and I'm home alone all week. It's been a really great show for me. I like the slow burns with great stories, and this has been that. The family drama adds a wonderful richness to the narrative. The jump scares I didn't enjoy so much, but the other spoops have been genuinely creepy and unsettling. The subtle scares have been the best / creepiest. The ending of episode six actually made me feel quite sad. I'm still kind of dealing with it. =/

Exactly what we're doing. *shrug* Seemed like the logical thing to do with this one since every person has a mode they're looking forward to most and, let's face it, many people shoot straight to the score or metascore without reading a damn word of the review (save perhaps the opening, penultimate, and final paragraphs).

Thread Fallout 76 : Gameplay and Impressions Thread
I'm not sure if it's been addressed yet, but for those of you worried about how rough / stuttery appears, my writer who attended the event noted that the developers basically flooded the servers for the sake of this media preview, and that everything is obviously in a very WIP state, which resulted in the performance issues. They noted that the footage / performance was not representative of what we should expect at launch (for what that's worth).

You're a good man. I'm going to bare my ignorance, if you all will excuse me. I'd like to know whether the developer will end up getting more of my money if I purchase the game digitally from the eShop, or physically. I assume there are extra costs incurred with putting the game out physically that maybe he's eating, but those might be more than made up for by BadLands' kind gesture and contribution. I also know that the digital retailers typically take about 30% of the sale, is that right? So... Which sale is more advantageous for Happ?

Thread Is Switch Already the Portable GOAT Platform?
I think so, OP. Last night I scrolled all the way to the right to open up the list of all the software on my Switch, and I realized that if I didn't buy a single game in 2019, on any platform, my Switch backlog is packed with enough quality games to keep me happy and engaged the entire year. It's incredible the amount of quality AAA and indie games that live on this thing right now, and with everything we're looking forward to in the months ahead and 2019, I think it's safe to say that the Switch has become the ultimate handheld in my eyes. I've owned every major handheld system since the GB. I still have them all. I still have my GB, Game Gear, GBA, DS Lite, PSP, 3DS, and Vita. I understand the *sentiment* behind some of the "lol no" posts in this thread, I really do, but I think some of yall are just refusing to take off your nostalgia goggles. If you put me on a 14-hour plane ride on Monday (which I'm actually about to have to endure), I'm going to take my Switch, not my DS. And that goes for a 15-minute commute as well.

Thread Dragon Quest Builders is on Nintendo Switch |OT| And We Didn't Even Have to Beg
Guys, I found my perfect gaming zone. A couple of nights ago I was pretty buzzed -- just enough smoke in me (which is to say barely any at all) -- and I settled into bed to play DQ Builders. I put on my headphones and started this extended version of Secunda: ...and I just played and played. It set the perfect tone. I did a quest or two, and then went exploring. I collected things, I discovered things, I started replacing walls and floors in my town and rearranging everything to my liking and really making it my own. The music put me in the perfect mood to take things slowly and intentionally, and it was such an enjoyable experience. I can tell I will have many more nights like that one, and I honestly can't wait. What kind of "zones" do you guys create for yourselves when playing DQ Builders? Do you ever listen to your own music? Do you play exclusively on the TV and enjoy it that way? Do you rush through quests as fast as possible to make it more like an RPG?

There are a few things specifically outlined in Sony's spoiler guidelines that a few outlets have seemingly ignored. One of them I assume is getting ignored because it's revealed so early in the game, and the other is being ignored because it's not a story-related or character spoiler, just a fun scene. Both are worth discovering for yourselves, IMHO. I wouldn't watch any videos (including the digital foundry analysis, which is excellent by the way!) until after you spend a day or two with the game.

Thread Marvel's Spider-Man - Review Thread
It's longer for sure. I swung around the city and did side-quests / explored in between main story chapters, and I'd say it was about 22-23 hours before I saw credits roll. I've spent a few more hours in the game since then, and I'm at about 85% completion for the entire map in terms of side-quests / collectibles. There's a ton to do and to collect, and if you're the type of person who, like me, enjoys just swinging around and having fun with no specific objective every once in a while, you're going to get much more mileage out of this. Certainly much more than 15-20 hours. Perhaps double that. I expect most of you will be wrapping up with side content around the time that the first DLC drops, which I'm looking forward to very much. People who can take off work, or who don't have responsibility to family, who can play for uninterrupted hours at a time for multiple days in a row, may finish it long before then.

I like it *way* more than I ever liked, or will ever like, WWII. I really like the focused, class-based operators and emphasis on scores and teamwork. It just feels more focused all-around, which I gather is ironic given the game's development. All I know is that hours would go by while I was playing and I was always enjoying myself, and when I got home, I always had the urge to boot it up and play a few rounds. I hadn't felt that way since MW2 really. I'm excited for this, and will be picking it up. Can't wait to try Blackout!

That was a terrible post, and a shitty thing to say to a fellow member. This is where I am right now; I'm having a really hard time figuring out exactly why this guy is so hated and what he's done. He definitely does seem grating, but not much more so than many of the other extremely prominent figures in the competitive gaming scene right now. Seems to me like an annoying person who's made dumb mistakes, who's also super good at Smash, has amassed a huge and toxic following. Frustrating all around. Honestly, it comes with the territory. I think it's on him to own up to his position, what little notoriety he has, and deal with the haters. If you want to excel and be a competitor and enjoy the limelight that comes with it, your actions and words on and off the stage are going to be scrutinized. You just have to be better, and you have to show some grit in the face of baseless hate. Purge your timeline and move on. Then again, I'm a scrub with a name no one recognizes, so I don't truly understand what it's like to have a notifications section constantly filled with toxicity on Twitter.

As a PC, Xbox One X, and PS4 Pro owner, let me tell you that I'll never play Skyrim anywhere else ever again. It runs and looks beautifully on the Switch and it's the only version that I've actually stuck with for the long haul. The above poster is right -- the Switch version of any multiplatform game will always be the least impressive, visually -- but you WILL find games you're in love with on the console. The first-party support is world class. You can't miss out on the Nintendo games this gen, they've been incredible. I've also found a lot of multi-plats that I prefer on Switch. Skyrim, Hand of Fate 2, and Thumper are just three examples (came to mind because I've been playing them lately).

A very well-meaning co-worker was trying to connect with me about video games. Said they played them allllll the time when they were younger and used to be really into them, "But I stopped playing around Grand Theft." I... Didn't even know how to gently correct them or ask for clarification. They also assured me that they used to love playing "Bowser's Castle." I mustered a dismissive "Oh, nice." I really do not like it when people pretend to know what you're talking about when they don't. That's the worst kind of lie because it forces you to either lie through your teeth and go along with their ruse to humor them, or else feel like an asshole by calling them out so you can continue the conversation naturally.

Thread Outdoor Scenes Immersive Enough to Make You Take a Deep Breath
Have you guys ever experienced this phenomenon? Have you ever been roaming around outside in a game, and the composition, visuals, and sound effects were so good they actually compelled you to take a deep breath, expecting to smell fresh air, or flowers, or that wonderful "watery" smell you get by rivers or after a new rain? I remember one warm night at my house as I was reviewing Breath of the Wild. I had the window cracked open, some storms were rolling in, and I had a straight-up inspiring moment in-game. As I was walking through Hyrule Field at sunset, I stopped a moment to listen to the minimal piano that had kicked in, and to watch the wind weaving through the grass around me. At that moment the wind outside in the real world picked up and pushed through my window. I took a deep breath in, and I was fucking transported to Hyrule. It was magical. I've also had moments like this exploring Skyrim. There's a great sense of vast, mysterious wilderness in that game that I love but, oddly, these "outside" immersive moments always come to me when exploring the towns and cities at night time. The eerie quiet and beautiful music always get to me, and sometimes I want to take a deep breath and smell my surroundings. This happened one night as I was exploring, and Secunda started playing: So how about you, Era? Which game managed to create such a believable outdoor ambience and sense of immersion it made you want to literally breathe in and smell the "outside" air? What was the experience like? Can you recreate it whenever you want? Have you ever experienced this in an older / retro game? Am I just a crazy person?

The card wheel you can follow, but it stops at various speeds, so that one is also still largely luck when it's crowded with fails. That's just part of the game. So much of your fate is governed by chance (a recurring theme). You can always boost your odds by supplying yourself with good encounter cards and by doing really well in combat, though. I've always thought it was fair (though definitely very frustrating at times). Later missions get very, very challenging.

For the serious players in this thread: I played the shit out of SC IV. It's the only game I have a 1000/1000 gamerscore for. I was ranked like 640 (doesn't sound like much but there were about 200K ranked players) and sparred all the time with the top 10 ranked players online. I preferred player match lobbies because I loved to spar and find unorthodox approaches to offense, but I was competitive. I've never owned a fight stick in my entire life (I don't even know if that's what you call them) but I think I'd like to try learning to play with one for SC VI since I enjoy fighting games generally. Is there a consensus right now on what the best entry-level / affordable stick is? I'll be playing on One X, but it'd be nice to have a stick I can use on other platforms as well, if possible. Is there like a no-brainer "this is definitely the one to buy right now" stick for around $100-150?

I loved every moment of it, and my fondness is not due to any nostalgia for the game as a launch title on the Vita. I played Remastered long after the fact on PS4, and it's one of my personal favorite games now. Different strokes and all that. I also never understood why people bashed the combat. It's not the star of the show by any means, but it's perfectly serviceable. Yes, the most effective move is the gravity kick, but if you decide to go through the entire game using that move and only that move, even against ground-based enemies, that's on *you.* I dodged around, did a bunch of kung-fu kicks, and utilized the stasis field to switch things up, and while that may have tacked on a few extra seconds to normal encounters, at least I was having fun.

The narration and pacing are fantastic, the combat is satisfying enough, and there's just enough chance and stacking progression to make it seem perfectly balanced IMO. Things can always take a turn for better or for worse at any moment, but re-running quest lines has always been very rewarding. I can see myself sinking a ton of time into this, and it's so worth the $30 buying price. I'm also really into esoteric stuff and have harbored a fascination for tarot decks and their interpretation for years, so it's right up my alley; Just the right amount of spoop and "darkness."

Thread SUPERBEAT: XONiC SWITCH |OT| "I'm getting it on the Switch"
It's a fun game with a lot of content. A few extra songs that weren't in the PS4 launch. All of the other rhythm games on Switch are available for $8-30, so $40 is a pretty steep price-tag, but if you're in this thread then you probably already know whether you think Superbeat: Xonic is worth it or not. I've really enjoyed it. If you've played it before then the asymmetrical thumb-sticks on the Joy-Con will throw you off for a bit for those directional flicks. Took me a few hours to readjust my muscle memory.

I loved everything about Hitman and the way it was developed / released. I got a *LOT* of enjoyment out of that game over many months. Edit: To answer the question more specifically, I'm okay with the episodic model for AAA games, and I'll be okay with FFVIIR launching this way as long as it's a great game. I feel like it encourages more thorough exploration; taking one's time; appreciating the small things because you're not in a rush to finish.

Beautiful, beautiful game. I've been playing for many hours and honestly had no idea about the resolution docked or in handheld. Doesn't matter. Let the whiners whine, and let those who actually own and play the game keep playing. I'm happy that Octopath has already seen great success in the West and abroad. Square's gamble paid off big time, and I hope it leads to more projects like this one, with considerably larger budgets. The whole dev and production team deserve a lot of praise. It is weird-ass, and it is very Japanese, but it's also just a great game. It has straight-forward brawler mechanics that blossom over time as you unlock more combos and moves, the writing is frequently laugh-out-loud funny, the story is actually really good, that characters are well-written, and there are so many things to do. Some of the side-quests you'll take on will be some of the best quests you've ever played in a video game, with hilarious scenarios and great writing, all profusely voice acted (in Japanese, of course). Not sure what else you need to hear. You know people are crazy about this game, and for myriad reasons. You'll probably love it, too. It's cheap, so there's very little risk in trying, right? Buy the damn game, and prepare to sit through a really long opening cutscene.

I have really been enjoying this game. I guess it's old news for many of you but this is my first time playing and I've been so pleasantly surprised. Such a great old-school RPG, and the overcharge system reminds me a bit of combat in Octopath Traveler. Performance is solid. Loading times seem frequent and long, but once you're in a dungeon you don't see many. Frame rate can definitely drop in certain parts of certain dungeons or exploration areas, but in combat everything is smooth and looks fantastic. Animations are fluid and expressive. Can't put my finger on resolutions. Things can look a bit soft or aliased in exploration areas, but it hasn't struck me as an obvious flaw at all. Not sure if the resolution is native docked / handheld, but it doesn't look bad at all; again, especially in combat.

1. Buy now. Every now and then you can find quick lightning deals through Google, Target, Ebay, or even through Nintendo (for refurbished units) that might save you about $25, but there is no official price drop coming ANY time soon. 2. You'll probably want a Pro Controller, but that's an extra $80. Still it's an extra controller for you and your fam, and it's one that you may prefer to use for a lot of games. You may also want the HORI play stand to make handheld mode more enjoyable. A screen protector is also highly, HIGHLY recommended, especially since this is for your daughter. are the best, and super easy to apply. For long trips an external batter is also great to have. 3. Steamworld Dig 2, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Captain Toad, Snipperclips, Pokemon Quest, Pinball FX3, Super Beat Sports, Kirby Star Allies, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Overcooked are all games you guys would probably love, and most of those you can play together! 4. Thread Fortnite Live One Time Event [Happened]
In my honest opinion, no other game is doing F2P better than Fortnite. You don't have to pay a dime to play the most popular game in the world, and you don't have to pay a dime to partake in these unique live events, evolving story threads, and map changes. When you DO pay for a Battle Pass, you not only get rewards right up front, but it also unlocks tons of new challenges and milestones to work for all season long. I love that it doesn't just give you stuff. It gives you much, much more to do. Non-paying players also have challenges to unlock and work toward throughout the season, but those who are willing to pay for the Battle Pass are likely the players who play much more frequently, and their willingness to pay and play is rewarded with even more reasons to play. In the end, it looks like everyone is getting what they want, and the rotating modes keep things fresh. I've played Fortntie for months now because we report on it so frequently -- it was just a part of my job -- but now I consider myself a fan. EPIC is doing such a great job with this project.

I wouldn't say casual per se, but definitely more streamlined. The gameplay is tailored to encourage more aggressive, faster matches, which is perfect for me. Heroes also have fewer abilities. Each "champ" will have a main attack, two abilities, a passive ability, and an ultimate. Each character also has a ton of slots you unlock over time, into which you insert items that augment things like their attack speed, cast speed, total health, magic points, magic strength, attack pierce, etc. These augments are such that, at high levels of play, two players using the same hero may use them in vastly different ways. The main gameplay loop is the same. Three lanes, multiple towers in each lane, jungle and jungle enemies, and powerful items you purchase throughout the match as you level up and get gold.

I woke up my wife last night laughing out loud at the writing, and I'm the type who never laughs in movies or shows or games; something about this humor just resonates with me and the writing is so cheeky. It is a bit slow-going, but the RPG elements are tied in uniquely and humorously, kind of like what you've seen in the South Park RPGs. For the price, I think it's one of the safest buys on the eshop right now. Just Shapes & Beats continues to entertain, surprise, and challenge me. I love it very much. There are so many Super Mario references and obvious inspirations in some of the "boss fights," and some of the songs are such over the top bangers. Huh. Well that seemed unnecessarily combative. As for me, I enjoyed the game very much, but didn't hesitate to point out what I considered to be minor, but obvious, issues. Unless a launch day patch corrected all of this, the frame rate does drop noticeably while in exploration sections / dungeons. A few of the early game dungeons show noticeable drops, particularly the sewers underneath the tavern. Undocked, the resolution and aliasing are a bit muddy during these segments as well, but again, not to an extreme degree at all (just noticeable). My other gripe -- again, a minor gripe -- was loading times. There are many, and they can be pretty long. Going in and out of dungeons, and even initiating many battles. Sometimes combat starts instantly, and sometimes a loading screen pops up first. Otherwise I've enjoyed the game very much, and have spoken highly of it.

Okay I brought this up in the other thread but I need to know: Is anyone else experiencing / talking about super inconsistent frame rates when the notes stream down? I'm playing on a PS4 Pro and I've tried with Boost Mode off and on. It's legit throwing me off. I'm very rhythmically oriented, and I get into a deep groove watching those notes stream down. I kind of blur out my vision and rely on the rate at which they fall down to know when and what notes to hit. When the frames start slowing down and the note prompts start dragging it messes me up, and it's maddening. There really is no excuse for this not being 60 fps 100% of the time, but no one else could corroborate the issue in the other thread.

Thanks, I know that you can pre-determine your item upgrade path beforehand, and I know that you can turn auto-purchase off, but as far as I can tell once you're in a match it still only allows you to select one of the individual item upgrade paths, and then decide between one of two items at any given time, as opposed to choosing literally any available item that you can currently afford with gold on-hand. The latter you can do in the mobile version, and I'm used to kind of tweaking my build on the fly that way, but on Switch I've yet to see how to do that.

I do, however, wish that they would let us use the touch-screen to select specific items in the store to buy. It seems like you have to select an upgrade path, and then when you have enough gold it will auto-suggest one of two options and you have to pick one of those two, is that right? Have y'all figured out a way to browse around and select any item you can afford at any point in time?

Left on the d-pad does indeed bring up the store and, while it *shows* all of the items, you cannot select individual items. Tapping them does nothing with the touchscreen, and you can only navigate up and down entire upgrade paths, not individual items (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If it's anything like the mobile version, your first few matches will be against AI opponents as a way to kind of "round out" the tutorial, and then it moves to pure PvP.

Great write-up, dude! I was looking at the QC20s but I absolutely can't stand putting things into my ear. I've heard that they are far more comfortable than the in-ear earphones I'm used to, but I can't really stomach it. I've had to break out healing items for pretty much every boss I've fought, yes. Honestly, I like it. I'm the type of person who hoards items and never uses them. I've found that Octopath both showers me with healing a boost items, and also demands that I use them generously when needed. That seems like a pretty good balance to me! Kind of in the same way that SMT / Persona games actually force you to use buff / debuff spells for bosses, when typically, those types of spells just go to waste.

I "cleared" the demo with Therion, and decided to start a new game with Ophilia so I could see her area. After arriving at a save point, I only have one slot open to me, and it's my Therion slot. Are we not supposed to have multiple saves? If I want to experience all of the openings chapters am I just going to have to save over my slots repeatedly until I have just one left that actually carries over to the full game?

Wow guys, really? OP, definitely reach out to them on Twitter, and definitely call customer support again. As soon as you encounter someone saying that they can't do anything about it, firmly request that they escalate the matter and demand to speak to the next most-senior rep available. If the points are gone, then this can definitely be traced back to the transaction and the employees who lied to you can definitely be held accountable. It may be uncomfortable, but you may need to go back to the store in person and ask when a manager will be in, and then go talk to them directly.

I asked a Tencent rep that very question during an interview, and from what I can tell, I think they're going to keep the mobile and Switch versions and accounts separate. Since they are really serious about this being a competitive game, they were thinking that cross-play wouldn't be a good idea, because players on mobile could cite unfair gameplay advantages to those able to use a controller (or vice versa). Basically, since this is going to be an esport that Tencent pours money into, they want to make sure that everyone is playing on the level, which means keeping controls the same for everyone.

I haven't yet, but I hope to soon. I signed up as soon as I was able, and I've worked with Tencent on some Arena of Valor stories, so PR assured me I'd get my hands on the Switch beta. I have found that ERA is generally averse to admitting that mobile games can be great and competitive games, which is why this has largely flown under the radar. Many of us have been talking about it for a while, though, and honestly I think it plays even better on Switch. I think people will come around once it actually launches. It's a fantastic game, and Tencent has already shown ample support for it on mobile. It is ongoing, and concluding soon, so no. They'll probably do another one, though, or else announce a launch date in the near future. They already had a major beta phase in Europe.

Great advice, thank you. I wasn't angry with my teammates because I died or because I had to swap roles. Like I said, our primary marksman died just as much as I did (five times), so I wasn't embarrassed or anything. I was just upset and felt targeted. I got reported, I assume for feeding, when I was just trying to do my best with a character I didn't know how to play, and comparatively, I didn't actually die very much. Admittedly, I should have just stuck with Chaugnar. His damage output is minimal, but he's obviously still tanky and could have filled the "warrior" need well enough. I also play Chaug pretty conservatively. I poke with my abilities and dive into team fights sparingly, only when my ult is ready to go (because it negates controlling effects and allows me to spam an ability for a few seconds). Playing a more aggressive role I felt more compelled to get involved in team fights because I knew everyone else in my lane was squishy AF. I got involved too much and got targeted most of the time, so the issues soon fed into each other as I was soon underleveled with few items. This is my first MOBA, and I'm still learning how to deal with team composition and roles. Playing almost exclusively with randoms I find that I take it upon myself to make sure we have a balanced team, when I know that shouldn't be my concern and mine alone. I definitely should have picked my battles more wisely or stuck with the character I knew. I'm also comfortable using a couple of mages, but in this instance, the last thing we needed was another squishy champ.

Damn, sometimes I hate this player-base so much. After a 5-win streak, and a fresh rank up to Silver II, I got on a team with 3 people who all wanted to pick marksmen and we had one warrior. No mage, no real tanks... So I picked Grakk, who I rarely play. I couldn't choose my main because the team was so unbalanced, but no one would switch. I kept sending messages, but everyone thought they would be the ultimate badass marksman I guess. Well, our team got rocked, and everyone spread out everywhere doing their own thing, and the other team was of course perfectly balanced and working together. I had 6 deaths and didn't accumulate much gold. Our Valhein had 5 deaths and only had 1K more gold than me, but at the end of the match multiple teammates reported me, and my credibility ranking just took a hit for the first time since I downloaded the game. I know it's not a big deal, but I was absolutely infuriated. I'm still fuming, and wish I could appeal those reports somehow.

FYI: the interview will take me a bit to transcribe because the spokesperson was a little difficult to understand. I'll have it up on Monday or Tuesday. For the sake of this thread and discussion here, I will go ahead and disclose that, according to Tencent, a lot of the finer details about the Switch launch are still in the air and under discussion. He did mention that the positive North American response has been welcome and that the team is wanting catch up the US market to where Europe is. He said that the mobile test servers were prepared first in Europe, and so the Switch test servers were also prepared first. After the EU Switch beta concludes, they'll make a more concentrated effort to do everything at the same time. He did not have a solid window to offer me for the US Switch beta or Switch launch. He also said that Tencent is still trying to decide if accounts will be shared between Switch and mobile, and if there will be cross-play between the two, or if they will make those accounts completely separate. He said the team is concerned that by sharing accounts and servers between the two versions, it could lead to complaints about unfair advantages on one platform or the other. They have not made a decision in that regard. I also asked about pricing on the Switch -- whether they would keep the same free-to-play / in-game purchases model, or opt for a premium one-time purchase model. He said that Tencent focuses on monetization last, and that gameplay, balance, controls, and roster all come before that discussion. He made it clear that monetization is something they're not concerned with figuring out right at this moment; they just want to get the gameplay right in all of its facets. He also said that, at this point in time, the DC Heroes are seen as a permanent part of the Arena of Valor game. He wasn't concerned about any future licensing woes.

I've thought about this, actually. The 'A' button could initiate your basic attack. There are only two abilities and an ultimate, right? Let's consider using your first ability. Simply hold down the left trigger while you aim with the right stick, and release the trigger to use your ability. Click in the right stick to cancel. Same with the second ability and the right trigger. For your ultimate, pull both triggers at once. That leaves you free at all times to keep moving with the left stick, and aim with the right stick. I assume targeting will work the same as it does on mobile. You can adjust parameters in settings that will adjust your targeting priorities between minions, towers, and heroes.

I know that's what a tank does, but I'm not going to rush in and get killed every time they want to make an advance. I poke, retreat, poke, retreat, rush in for a couple quick abilities, retreat... If anything, I typically see too many people trying to drive up the middle. We're definitely witnessing the flattening out of a learning curve at the moment. For many people, and for myself, AoV is our first MOBA. As for the Road to Glory, that will stick around. I'm fact, it caps out at two hero unlocks per day, if I'm not mistaken, and Road to Glory is the only way to unlock those heroes; they can't be purchased. It adds a really rewarding grind for newcomers. I quite enjoyed the constant unlock gratification.

Ability damage, high HP, and high DF and magic DF. Actually, now that I've spent so much on tier III arcana for Chaugnar I feel pretty locked into that role. I have DropMix and four of the expansions (rock, electronic, hip hop, and pop), as well as one of the random booster packs. One of the expansions (rock) I haven't even opened yet. I love the game, but I never have friends over so I very rarely play it. I may part ways with it. I'm thinking about putting it all together for $100 shipped. That's what the base game costs at retail, and this will come with 69 extra cards (in addition to the 60 base cards). If anyone is definitely interested let me know, otherwise I'll probably just hold onto it.

I've been playing as bowser jr and uh... I definitely don't seem to have the whack advantage yall seem to imply he has. Why is BJ considered so good? Because I'm getting my ass beat and it feels bad.

If you don't like it, you don't like it. It's kind of like Tetris or Puyo Puyo in that way. The gameplay is what it is, and if it doesn't click with you, and you don't like going hands on with that kind of gameplay loop, then that's perfectly fine.
