Thread Will I Enjoy Kingdom Hearts 3, If I Haven't Played The Other Games?
I did, but a friend also spent 4 hours explaining the lore of the games to me. There's a bunch of stuff in-game that explain it to you too. Honestly the stuff about the story is kinda overblown - there's a bad guy, you're the good guy, you have friends, he has allies, you're gonna have a big fight - that's about it. I wouldn't worry about not understanding it unless you really have to know exactly why every single character says every single thing they say. I really, really enjoy the game too, and it's probably only gotten better with the DLC since release. Definitely don't skip the last few hours, since it's the best stuff in the game by a country mile.

You have about 5 hours to get it to Central Paris.Huh. Is this BestBuy US or CA? I've relayed this upstairs to our distribution team and we're taking a look. It'll be from near the start of the game, but it will be story content. Nothing we'd consider a huge spoiler (and certainly less than has been streamed already thanks to CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS) but if you're the going-totally-blind type, there will be some story stuff.

Juuuuuuuuuuust to be clear, review codes haven't gone out yet (I personally wrote the email we'll be sending with them about two hours ago) and we didn't even send them to distributors yet either. It's amazing to hear people are enjoying the game, but anybody who is already playing hasn't got it from us and it isn't yet on the review build as far as I know. So basically: it should be (minorly) even better than it is now for reviewers, another patch after that before launch, and if you're an influencer or journalist who doesn't have a key yet, neither does anyone else officially - they'll be coming soon(tm).Embargo will be launch day at 00:01 CEST. Streams and video impressions will be a few hours before. Also re: file size, we're just good at compression ;D

They are not. We're $50 on Steam, I believe that price is replicated everywhere, but local shops etc may vary. We know we aren't making games on the same level of polish/amount of content/etc as is expected for 60 bucks, so we usually price a tad lower, even with our larger titles like this (I doubt this will be universally true in the future, before someone quotes this post in three years to ask me why [REDACTED] is sixty).

Four difficulty levels. Depends how you define Souls difficulty level, but if you smash it up to max it's gonna be difficult, but the nature of the game is closer to a CRPG than ARPG (stats, gear, choices, etc), so it'll be more about slow-paced decision making in combat rather than well-timed rolls etc.

Thread GreedFall - Gameplay Overview Trailer
Whoops, spent all of yesterday in meetings after posting. Answers below! We don't have them officially out (should be soon), but I've just taken a look at the initial proposal and it's pretty lenient. Similar to A Plague Tale, if you played that. My PC that is a couple of years old at this point is easily past the recommended. If you're playing modern games on the reg, I don't think you'll have any problems.Sorry, we know this matters to a bunch of people, and having seen some games I play (FF14) at Ultrawide, I get why it's so appealing now. Smaller publisher, smaller developer, making an ambitious game like this - you know how it is. The nice thing about 21:9 is that it is fairly easy to mod in a way that works 90%+ of the time, but isn't the kind of thing we can officially ship because it has visual or gameplay bugs we wouldn't find acceptable in a paid-for release. We're huge fans of mods at Focus (Mudrunner, Farming Simulator anyone?) and hope you can get Greedfall looking beautiful and thicc.Yes Yes Our playtime quote is "40-60 hours" for non-rush, non-total-100%, so I think the answer to your Q is towards the lower end of that 45-50. But really, it's so dependent on the player in a game like this - do you read a full subtitle and then skip the rest of the dialogue, for example? That can take off hours on its own. Is your idea of 100% EVERY item, or just every quest? How fast are your load times? Etc. I think we can safely say it'll take you 40+ unless you're a cutscene skipper.Large, connected open areas. Loading between each, though you visit a camp where you talk to your party etc. while it loads the next area, so it feels pretty seamless. More depth to the areas because of this - we think it works pretty well. We've got a range of four that go from pretty easy to pretty hardcore. I think you'll find what you need in there, and we're running a lot of playtests right now in that general theme.<3I believe 'gunmage' is one of the guys who works on it favourite build, and one we're showing off to press and such in the coming weeks because it feels pretty cool. To my knowledge, you can always use at least some form of every weapon, but you can specialise pretty heavily. From what I've played - not a whole lot, as it's not a title I'm working on day-to-day - guns feel and look great. From what I remember, that dash is your default dodge, yeah.

No Ancel on this one, apologies. Since the question will certainly be on the way, X and Pro upgrades are HDR and 4K support.I'll have to look into the first. I believe we have a 30fps lock on consoles, and no native ultra-widescreen support. You begin in a big city on the old continent (lots of sidequests to do here but you can leave fairly quickly if you prefer), then head to the much wilder Teer Fradee for the majority of the game.

It is probably the only game of its age where I would still recommend the original version, in fact. It holds up, and the HD stuff doesn't even really get in the way in the newer versions. Amazing soundtrack, cool systems, good characters, surprising, and a better translation than 7 & 8. My favourite FF game other than 14.

I'm not in charge of these decisions, but the answer from my perspective is they don't compete with each other meaningfully, and we don't have 50 million dollar marketing budgets to compete in October/November - especially this October/November, I love our games but I will be playing Death Stranding, Pokemon, and Final Fantasy 7 RM (rumours willing) those months, tyvm. Double A game publishing is about taking your shots when you can, being unique, and targeting in unique ways - be that by niche, new interpretations, unique art and universes, etc. Sometimes it means you put two games in the same month. It will not be. I know they've been taken down before, but our is already up if it helps (Wishlist please, we like those!)

There are changes based on the decisions you make, as well as things being different based on which companions you have with you in certain scenarios - not all the inhabitants of Greedfall get along, to put it mildly. I can't talk about sales too openly unfortunately - literally legal reasons, we're publicly traded. I can say I'm personally delighted with the reaction Plague Tale has had, and still really enjoy going through the main thread for it here every day.1) I believe so - I'll see if I can get shareable details. 2) While it isn't a vital, massive part of the game that you must spend hours on, it's detailed and robust, with a lot of different nobs and dials you can play with. We're pretty proud of it, and think people will enjoy no matter how much they engage with it. 3) The max is your main character plus two others.

Big ol' third-person RPG. I believe there's some gameplay around, but you'll see some during E3 if not. 30+ hours would be our feeling on it - BIG variation depending on everything from which/how many sidequests you do, whether you're a full convo tree and voice acting person or you skip to the point, etcetera. Probably maxes out in the 60+ region if you're a real 100% person.

PC always dependent on exact specs, of course, but I've never had an issue in the builds I've been playing for six months or so, which will only have improved. For what it's worth, it is an absolutely gorgeous game, imo. Asobo have worked absolute magic, especially with the vistas. To my knowledge, same across all platforms. Horde size is varied by difficulty and I believe the AI director controls it to some degree as well.Unfortunately not, if you start a game with two players, the two bots will be constantly looking for players to fill their slot. However, this has been probably the most requested change we've seen, so stay tuned.Just an update on servers, things are improving as we've unlocked a lot more scaling to deal with demand. No doubt still some issues, but our number one priority right now to get people playing (with their friends) as much as possible, so improvements happening constantly.

There's a persistent, class-based system where you're earning new upgrades, abilities, and starting weapons.Getting the details now, but there was some glitch and it should be live on Region 3 PSN tomorrow. Sorry for the delay! The flow is similar, but a little more fast paced, more zombies, and the special infected are more common in WWZ, from what I remember of my L4D days. There also isn't Tank or Witch moments where your strat has to change completely, but instead set-pieces that have a similar but more varied effect on the gameplay. There aren't specific safe zones, but there are areas where you'll be setting up for an oncoming attack that have ammo, weapons to choose from, health packs, etc.

I'll tell you what I was telling people at GDC - we don't have the infinite money to make and market the next Destiny (or, honestly, the desire to do so, for 99 reasons), so we have to make things that are unique and to an extent target a niche. I think if you look at the games we've picked up that were already independently announced - Aeon Must Die and Othercide - you'll see the kind of variety, personality, and distinctiveness we're going for. The genres (and budgets) vary greatly, and listing them out isn't going to give you much insight except we're making videogames. Assuming you're into those, I think we'll have something for you. I'm sure that just reads like marketing speak, but it's also true! So that's good.

I don't know exactly what you need to do for each achievement off the top of my head, but some clever save file usage should mean you only have to do a couple of complete playthroughs and then use your saves to pick alternate results. For what it's worth, it's rare that the game plays anything like an escort mission. There are sections where you are doing stuff like that, but often Hugo is by your side and not someone you have to worry about being attacked separately - and there are times he isn't with you at all. Naturally, it's extremely dangerous space, very ripe for annoyance, which is why Asobo spent endless time working and reworking levels to remove any frustration. Er, I can take a selfie next to the sign if you like?Script was written in French originally, which is part of why we wanted to provide the option to have French VO. The French voice actors are different from the English ones. Most of the English VAs are French indeed, however, so it feels authentic no matter what language you play in.Yeah, I can see how it can seem like a no-win situation. The truth is that it does 'fade into the background' because it isn't something the gameplay focuses on, as mentioned. For example when the two are together, they usually move as one unit - holding hands and helping each other. If they're separated, it's for a specific reason, and there's unique gameplay surrounding that. I think God of War did it very well, if you want an example, though we have more focus on the pairing than that game did (imo).

There is of gameplay variation around the rats. I think we'll surprise you.FUN FACT: there is full voice acting for English, but also French. We think some people might get a kick out of this as it's the 'original' language of the authors, similar to watching subs rather than dubs in anime. If the VA isn't for you - and we're dealing with child characters, so that's possible no matter how great we might think the English version is (hint: we think it's really great) - it might be worth trying that. VO is also in German, fyi.

Hey everyone, Ben from Focus Home Interactive (the publisher) here, I'm part of the marketing team and have done a bit of work on Plague Tale. If anyone's got any Qs, I'd be happy to (try to) answer.

Greedfall is a videogame that exists and we will publish. What, you want more? Jokes aside, there's information on the way for it. Nothing to announce, but it's still on track for this year, and we'll be kicking into high telling-you-about-it gear soon(trademark, copywrite, etc) :)

Runs at upscaled 4K. Incidentally, this is always the first question I'm asked in a thread like this, I might start putting it in the original post, haha.Hey! I meant to say, thank you very much for posting the thread, always nice to see our games with sexy OPs on Reset. As for length, it's not a massive triple-A open-world game or anything, but some of the levels are quite open, there's puzzles, secrets and side areas, etc. I think you could power through it in 8-10 or really take your time for 15+. In that linear, single-player range, anyway.

No worries. We think there's still some interest in this kind of game from a wide audience, it just needs the right approach from a massively talented team with incredible art direction. Which we have, I think, haha.Thank you!

We would like to have Ansel support. Photo mode isn't in the launch day version, but we understand the desire for it and agree A Plague Tale is basically a perfect candidate for photo mode.Only you get to decide that :)I don't believe there's a custom unlock, and we don't have a "hard mode" NG+ or something like that. While the narrative doesn't have major decision points, there is a lot of gameplay decision making in terms of what you use, where, what you craft, and how you move around the levels. There are also various collectibles that really build out the world and give more historical context, which I personally enjoy. I won't pretend we have the ridiculous replay value of a Bioware or Bethesda game (or anything even approaching the budget ;D), but if you enjoy the characters, gameplay, and/or world, I think you'll find reason to go back and replay some chapters - which we make easy with chapter select and stuff like that.
