ThreadSuikoden |OT| Please tell me the answer: is fate unchangeable?
You should play Suikoden Rhapsodia/Suikoden Tactics next if you want the full Suikoden IV experience/story :)
Suikoden IV is essentially "part 1" of a two part game which includes Suikoden Rhapsodia/Suikoden Tactics haha
ThreadSuikoden |OT| Please tell me the answer: is fate unchangeable?
Moving this post over to the proper Suikoden OT thread for proper placement :)
All the mainline Suikoden games are great!
With all the flack Suikoden IV gets, it's not a bad game, and story wise, it becomes much better when paired with Suikoden Rhapsodia as a full experience, since it's essentially "half" a game haha.
The Suikoden I, II, and III trilogy is also bolstered in its amazingness when played together back to back.
And Suikoden V was definitely a return to form and is neck and neck as my favorite Suikoden when compared to II.
There are also the Suikogaiden games, which delve into Nash and Sierra's story and are pretty great if you don't mind the visual novel format.
And Suikoden Card Stories is cute haha
However, the unifying factor is all the art is amazing!
The Genso Suikoden Kiwami Encyclopedia, which was around 1100+ pages, was sold on the Konami Japan store years ago and is a bible of all things Suikoden :)
It contained special key art illustrations by both Junko Kawano (Suikoden I, IV, and Rhapsodia artist) and Fumi Ishikawa (Suikoden 2 and 3 artist)
Here are some samples of the illustrations that I scanned from my copy ;)
And one last spoilery image!
(years later post game spoilers)
A very heart warming illustration :)
ThreadSuikoden creators announce Kickstarter "Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes". PC, PS4/5, X1/XSX, Nintendo 'next gen' [Up: $1.5m funded, New Game+]
Junko Kawano was the artist for Suikoden 1, 4, and Rhapsodia.
She also did the key art/cover art for Suikoden Centennial Tapestry on PSP (only released in Japan)
Fumi Ishikawa was the artist for Suikoden 2 and 3.
Kaori Fujita is the artist that sadly passed away that did some of the art for Suikoden V along with the art director "King" (Hideki Tanaka).
Also, super stoked for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and will be throwing all the money at the Kickstarter :D
The Spirit Hunter: NG Killer Peach novella/short story is now up :)(spoilers for Spirit Hunter: NG the game)
This is the full story release with all 5 chapters (see page selection at the bottom of the page)
This story delves into Killer Peach's back story and how she came to be. Hope you enjoy!
Oh, both the Killer Peach short story and the previously released Urashima Woman short story were originally released on Famitsu's website when Spirit Hunter: NG came out in Japan.
The only way to read it currently is via website, but would have been neat if it was on Kindle :)
Megaman X9 in a sprite based PS1 aesthetic a'la X4/X5/X6 would be cool :)
Otherwise either something more akin to X8 or a new style entirely would be nice to see.
Or do a Megaman X Command Mission 2, because the first was great!
PS1 :D
My first game was Beyond The Beyond, expecting it to be similar to Shining Force due to its aesthetic, but realizing it was its own thing :) haha
, the final chapter of the Spirit Hunter: NG Urashima Woman novella/short story is now up :)
Now the full back story of the Urashima Woman is revealed!
We hoped you enjoyed learning about her struggle and that it gives greater meaning to experiencing her story in the game! :D
And here are all the previous chapters in case you missed them:Thanks, Takoyaki! Once again, really amazing art all around! :)

Only the last chapter remaining to unveil the full backstory of the Urashima Woman ;)

Chapter 1 of the Spirit Hunter: NG Urashima Woman novella/short story is now up :)
The remaining chapters (ends at chapter 5) will be released daily from here on.
Hope you enjoy!
And here's the Prologue Chapter from yesterday in case you missed it:
Noisy Pixel has put up the Spirit Hunter: NG Urashima Woman novella/short story Prologue Chapter up for everyone to read here:
It contains spoilers for the Urashima Woman and details their past and what happened to them.
It was a short story that Famitsu posted the Japanese version for around when Spirit Hunter: NG came out in Japan.
Altogether it consists of the Prologue chapter and 5 standard chapters as well, which should be posted each day forward via Noisy Pixel.
Take a read... If you dare... ;)
Safe travels, friend! ;)Haha, your resilience is to be admired!
Regardless, playing it in optimal spooky conditions just adds to the mood and overall immersion while playing :D

There's no review embargo, so reviews should be popping up soon :)
Thanks for working on an OT as well to help spread the word on Spirit Hunter: NG! :D
ThreadOctober is on the horizon, what horror games will you play?
Spirit Hunter: NG is a great choice! It comes out a week from Thursday on October 10th for PS4/Switch/VITA (digital only)/Steam :)
Should also try checking out Spirit Hunter: Death Mark as well, the 1st game in the Spirit Hunter series:
(also on Steam/PS4/Switch/VITA)
Although I may be slightly biased towards both haha
But they're great horror game choices :D
ThreadAnyone else worried about SMT V and the future of mainline SMT/Atlus games in general?
Kaneko's style is just so unique and distinctive and mood invoking and the essence of MegTen.
Doi's art I really enjoyed in the Trauma Center/Trauma Team games, but unfortunately his work as the main artist for the MegaTen titles just comes off as Kaneko-lite anime.
Not saying Doi is a bad artist by any means, I actually like his work :)
But for MegaTen, Kaneko's aesthetic has always been a part of its soul.
ThreadMuramasa: The Demon Blade (arguably the best game from Vanillaware) is 10 years old today
Hmm, it should be? Considering that's how I played it and the DLC from beginning to end :)
Unless something changed Vita firmware wise since the game came out.
Wished these got proper English localizations when they originally came out, but games that I'd love to see in English include:
Shin Megami Tensei If...
Super Robot Wars Original Generation Endless Frontier Exceed
Sigma Harmonics
Xenosaga I&II
The Great Ace Attorney 1 & 2
Princess Crown
Samurai Shodown RPG
Growlanser 1
Little Princess 2
Devil Summoner 1 (and/or the Saturn ver)
Story of Marl Kingdom: Angel's Present
Tales of Destiny 1 Director's Cut
Tales of Destiny 2
Tales of Rebirth
Xenosaga Freaks
Princess Antiphona's Hymn:
Time Travelers
Xenosaga Pied Piper (playable ver)
Also the remaining unlocalized Sakura Taisen games, Far East of Eden Tengai Makyou games, Goemon games, and Langrisser games.
My favorites include:
Probably my favorite X game, with X4 or X8 as a third. Also love all the story beats/lore as well ;)
This was one of my dream games when I was younger of having a Megaman X game combined into an RPG format, so I was super stoked when it was announced and when I got to play it :) (gotta love X's beam scarf!)
Would love to see another game like it in the future. (c'mon sequel! haha)
The first time an X game came to PlayStation with anime cutscenes and playable X & Zero :)
The English voice acting wasn't the greatest, but still charming in its own way. Fun game to boot!
Megaman's first foray into the 32 bit era. With anime cut scenes, the introduction of Duo and Dr. Wily discovering and using the "Evil Energy", and the new robot masters and gameplay, it was a joy to play and left a lasting impression :)
Can't wait to see what a new X game could possibly entail! With all the "X-posure" ramping up thanks to the 25th anniversary, hoping we'll see a brand new game in the series sooner than later :D
Yeah, that's the highest direct feed image of it online unfortunately :(
But as part of my backer rewards, I did get a lithograph of it which I framed and took a picture of haha
I would LOVE a MMX9 or Command Mission 2! Command Mission on PS2 is awesome :D
Here's all of Keisuke Mizuno's art in the "Ver.Ke" style so far (scans courtesy of me)
Will be curious to see where the X series goes from here and if any of the story beats above get incorporated :)
Can click on them a view image to see them larger. Though I do have them in twice that resolution, just scaled them down for posting purposes haha
(just in regards to the "scans" that is)

Wild Arms VI
Breath of Fire VI (BoF6 doesn't count :P)

New Marl series game
Raidou Kuzunoha 3 with Kaneko doing all the art
Baten Kaitos III
Lunar III
Snatcher 2
New Castlevania with Igarashi
Valkyrie Profile 3: Hrist
Megaman X9
Megaman Legends 3
Zone of the Enders 3
Growlanser VII

ThreadShin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Director Interested In A Remake
Hmm, as far as I know, while his demon designs were contributed to all future MegaTen titles, he hasn't drawn any new demon art either in quite a while.
(hence main demon designer)
Any new demon designs for SMTIV were handled by outside artists or Doi himself. As for Persona 5, it'd be Soejima I'd imagine.
ThreadShin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Director Interested In A Remake
Yeah, my concern with a remake over a port would be it possibly losing its original aesthetic and overall vibe.
The other concern of course is going from glorious Kazuma Kaneko art as seen here:
To Masayuki Doi art (anime Kaneko) as so~
Morale of the story is...
Just finished and fully completed Shin Megami Tensei Synchronicity Prologue, which was awesome.
Currently playing Far East of Eden Tengai Makyou Zero and Terranigma :)
Bringing it back old school ;)

Trying to have things up on GOG by the end of the month hopefully! :)
Apologies for the wait!

Yeah, we're just waiting on the 2nd PS4 patch from the devs and then it should address the issues above to have parity with the PC version :)
Will hopefully be later this week~
