What kind of workload do you handle everyday? If it's just web browsing, document processing (Keynote is god-tier by the way), etc. you might be better off with the 12" Macbook. It will be refreshed soon though, if the rumors are correct (MacRumors has a useful tool, , for your reference). MBA is not a good deal at this moment; it doesn't have a Retina screen and the hardware configuration is way outdated, you can purchase a much more powerful and similarly portable Windows laptop with the same price.
