Thread CDPR is a transphobic company. It's time we stop making excuses for them.
I've said this before in other threads, and I'll say this again. Revenue plays no factor in moderation decisions. We're a completely volunteer staff here. of this. We have several trans members on staff, and you are being extremely disrespectful as this discussion impacts us just as much as it does regular members.

If we simply shut down all the Cyberpunk threads then the controversy about the game would die with them on this board. Having an OT and other news threads about the game provides a platform to raise awareness of the issue. Having no discussion doesn’t really serve anyone at all. We’ve also said this about other games but it’s true for Cyberpunk as well; there are minority members who want to be able to talk about games like this in a space where trolling and bigoted posting isn’t tolerated. We’re doing our best to provide that space.I can't guarantee anything but we'll discuss this.

We're reading. Bear with us; it's still currently in the workday in the US, and not everyone we want to discuss things with is available. We can't do a full blanket ban on the game or OT, but we can look into ways to curb the number of Cyberpunk threads that will exist before and after launch. There won’t be a custom logo for this game, that I can promise. We are planning a staff post for the start of the OT, and a reply banner as needed. As for charities, this is something we'll look into. We can’t force people to engage, unfortunately, but we can make the topic impossible to miss. I can’t remember off the top of my head every post we’ve ever put out, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the first time we’ve fielded questions on or spoken about the game. We encouraged the creation of this thread and were considering making one like it ourselves before Kyuuji stepped up. We believe there’s going to be another one taking a critical look at the contents of the game after its released, and that’s also a good thing.

Aint this the true. Being misgendered is rather traumatic, from my experience. While most people are kind about it where I live, the fact remains that I'm terrified when people bring it up. And then every so often you'll get that person who will maliciously use it against you, rather than just being ignorant. Thank you for making this thread, Kyuuji. It's a valuable source of information, and a great place to direct those who don't understand why this is such a big deal for trans folks.

Thread Do people 'meet' each other in MMOs that much anymore?
Ehh... in FFXIV about 50/50. Sometimes I'll get replies back that lead into cool stuff, or sometimes I'll get party runs with great conversation. Other times people just don't respond. A big issue is that a lot of players are on PS4, and may not have a keyboard. That being said, I've met some cool people this way.

Thread Do people 'meet' each other in MMOs that much anymore?
Game design in MMO has kind of de-emphasized interactions outside of the most hardcore content. FFXIV, being as instance heavy as it is, is no exception to that. That being said, I still try to encourage random interactions when I play. If I see a player out in the field, I'll say hello or whatnot to try and get a response.

Thread 15 yr old Faze Ewok, pro Fortnite player/streamer, comes out as trans
Children are unfortunately one of the largest battlegrounds for transphobia right now. Bigots frequently come up with every excuse in the book to justify why children and teens shouldn't transition. Ranging from false claims of puberty blockers being irreversible, to saying that children't are capable of making such decisions, among other things. Children and teens often have to deal with school systems that are often uncooperative or not supportive of who they are too. Safe to say, Ewok coming out at his age takes an amount of courage. I couldn't have possibly done that when I was his age.

Thread Anyone else able to "hear" when the TV is on with no A/V?
I've had slight hearing loss, so I can't hear stuff as well as I used to, but most electronics I can hear running. This includes CRTs and PSUs I can no longer hear LCDs tho. My sensitivity levels are extremely heightened still due to being autistic and having hypersensitivity. Right now I'm hearing a slight buzzing sound coming from in my apartment. It's the sound of slight electronics running. But I dunno where it's coming from. EDIT: Just checked. I can still hear LCDs with my left ear, but not with my right, and I have to be close-ish.

Thread Sword Art Online: Progessive anime announced
To give you an idea, at the time in 2012 they adapted:Now they've got the additional stuff they can adapt:This is in addition to retelling many of the stories that they butchered in the original adaptation, such as restoring the missing plotlines from Aria in the Starless Night, or expanding The Red Nose Reindeer to cover all the events. Assuming they go the whole distance, they have enough content easily for a two cour (24 episode) series revolving entirely around Aincrad. This should make this the definitive way to watch SAO.

Thread Sword Art Online: Progessive anime announced
To put it in simple terms, yes. I think what confuses a lot of people is that there's two sets of SAO content. The stuff that was written between 2002 and 2008 for the web novel series, and the stuff that's come out after that now that Kawahara's a professional writer. Most of what has been adapted so far is the Light Novel versions of that web novel content, which includes Alicization. The stuff that just aired on TV is largely 12 years old now. Progressive is newer content that fills in the gaps in the Aincrad arc, and started in 2013, with the latest volume (Volume 6) having come out in 2018. It is essentially a soft reboot or retelling of sorts. We will most likely see another volume at least before this anime starts too.

With any luck, this should be to Sword Art Online what Brotherhood was to Fullmetal Alchemist. There's more than enough content for a 24 episode Aincrad arc now.

Thread Someone give me the rundown on the different types of fantasy genres (high fantasy, epic fantasy, dark fantasy, heroic fantasy, etc. etc.)
High Fantasy, or Epic Fantasy focuses on the world itself and typically has themes of good versus evil. Lord of the Rings is the archetypal example. This is where you'll find your typical Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Hobbits, Dragons, Dark Lords, Magical Powers, Wizards, Ancient Prophecies, The Chosen one, etc, etc. Heroic Fantasy focuses on the exploits of the heroes themselves, and tends to be a bit more low key than High Fantasy. White and Grey/Grey and Grey morality is present, the scale is smaller, the hero's quest tends to be more personal than world ending. Conan the Barbarian is the archetypal example. Another good example are most Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. Sword and Sorcery and Wuxia style stories are typically similar to Heroic Fantasy, although Wuxia High Fantasy also exists. Low Fantasy focuses on the mundane and gritty. Magic is more subdued, humans are typically the dominant race, and there's a big emphasis of Grey and Grey morality. Game of Thrones is a good example of low fantasy. Urban Fantasy is fantasy but set in a modern urban setting. Persona is one such example. Dark Fantasy is fantasy meets horror. Science Fantasy is fantasy meets Sci-Fi There are countless other such examples and sub-genres that would take forever to explain if we tried. That Wikipedia article above is a good read and your best bet for learning about a specific type.

Thread Is Boruto any good? Is there a guide for the better story arcs?
The manga is great and only continues to get better with each chapter. Early chapter art is rough, but it improves and in some ways outdoes Kishi's own art as of the later chapters. The anime is a roller-coaster of quality with some arcs being fantastic and being the best the franchise has ever had, and others being pretty low. Nothing that hits as bad as the worst filler from the OG Naruto, but still not great. As far as the anime goes, the one arc I can recommend watching is the movie adaptation arc. I forgot where it starts, but it's around episode 50 or so. Episode 65 in particular is a highlight of the series. Beyond that, maybe someone else can help you. I only read the manga now.

They're not as good as the original (what could be?), but I still highly enjoy them. There are some fantastic action scenes. Thread "Flick Stick" is now available in Steam Input via the latest Steam Beta Client
Yeah I don't think vertical-only gyro is there yet. I'm sure will correct me if I'm wrong. Played an hour of Serious Sam HD with it. It works. EXTREMELY well. The only issue is I was having to correct my gyro movements a bit too much, but that's easily solvable. It's an experience comparable to keyboard and mouse now. I could instantly face enemies that charged past me in scenarios where even gyro + regular sticks would be too slow or imprecise. I'm really happy that Valve finally added it. (Still doesn't beat playing Serious Sam in VR tho, hah!)Steam Input should support any controller, even the Joycons. The problem however is getting oycons recognized as one controller and still having gyro.

Me and my younger sister get along decently now, if primarily because we can confide in each other in the craziness that is our family. I'd have to look it up, but I do believe the producer of the game said they're looking into the performance issues on Twitter. But yeah, the game's a technical mess on PC, and I'm extremely disappointed. In addition to the issues mentioned above, the keyboard and mouse controls are atrocious, and the Xbox gamepad controls are straight up broken. Take a look at this image...This is the default and official configuration in Steam Input. Notice something off? The right analog stick click is assigned to the left stick click instead. Meaning that by default, you You would have to fix the developer's mistake yourself and switch it to the right stick click. Which would require you to know a) that the game uses Steam Input and b) to check this in the first place. It's awful. The negative reviews are absolutely deserved.Hollow Realization is broken on PC too. Awful keyboard and mouse controls, crashes at the slightest hint that you're alt-tabbing, and broken support for any aspect ratio that's not 16:9.

Some states in the US require you to wait months and visit a therapist over and over just to even get access to a doctor who MIGHT prescribe you hormones. There are many red flags with Halle's comment that make it clear that she herself doesn't understand the issue or understand how she's being transphobic, even if her intent wasn't to be.That's still no excuse on her part, and in fact is all the more reason why she play such a role. Thread Spirituality and Mindset |OT| Achieve Eralightenment
It really changed my life to start thinking in this manner, honestly. Thinking about the mind, body, and spirit, and how they work. It's allowed me to see the good in everything that people do, even if they say or do actions that are bigoted, angry, or hateful. Just today, I met someone who shared an opinion I disagreed with. The past "me" would have been offended and averse or confrontational with them. The me of today does a few breathing exercises and thinks "Even if I disagree with it, so what? They like me as a person, and it doesn't change the fact that they hold that view." and "Perhaps maybe I can understand they hold such a view..." My family is Catholic, and some of them are devout believers. But I always found a disconnect with who I was, and with the religion itself. I could never reconcile the idea that a godlike being made me this way, and that he had some sort of divine plan for me, with all the tragedies that have happened in my life. Depression, suicide, abuse, gender dysphoria, and an assortment of other issues that aren't appropriate for this forum all plagued my life in some manner. "Why would such a kind and loving person subject me to this?", I thought. This made me turn away from religion and spirituality, and detest anything to do with either topic. I wanted nothing to do with an organization that, despite the presence of accepting individuals, overall hated my existence, and I wanted nothing to do with the spirituality that got caught up by association. But as I discovered Mindfulness and began to recover from my depression, this started to change. I started to sort out my own thoughts. Understand where I stood on these positions and why I was there. I started to see the difference between organized religion and spirituality, and that despite not being religious, I was very much still a spiritual person deep down. There was no simply getting away from the fact that I believed in the idea of a spirit, and that a healthy spirit is a key to a healthy mind and body. As I noted earlier, this gave me a great deal of comfort that organized religion can't give me. I also gained a respect for those who believe and live by their beliefs, be they Catholic or any other religion. Getting away from my home and meeting people of different faiths, ethnicities, and beliefs really helped as well. That exposure to the world makes, quite literally, a world of difference. I also gained an appreciation for religious arts that have spirituality to them. For example, lately I have been listening to a Christmas carol called While I do not believe Jesus was anything more than a mere man, I find comfort in the singing and the meaning of the lyrics. Another one (which has actually been out for awhile, but I've now started to appreciate for it's meaning instead of just being a pretty song) is The decision to set the song in Swahili is an unusual one, but gives it a flow that it wouldn't have in English as the Lord's Prayer. The "me" of the past would have never accepted this logic, but yet here we are...

Thread Is there a Spirituality/Mindset ERA?
Learning to be mindful and have a positive mindset has been one of the biggest changes in my life. I used to be a very negative, angry, and cynical person. But as I've gotten older I've embraced positivity, living in the moment, the well being of my spirit/conscious, and generally not letting stuff get to me. Accepting myself, even if I've made mistakes. Accepting others, even if they may share some views I disagree with. I'm not really a religious person, but I would say I'm a bit spiritual and have only become more so over time. It's hard for me to find happiness or solace in religion as a transgender woman, but I find great comfort in spirituality. Mindfulness exercises in particular have been a real blessing. I've learned to be able to calm myself in the moment, and identify negative feelings (be they physical stress or mental thoughts) in the moment. This usually allows me to deal with problems pretty rationally and avoid the blow ups of anger and cynicism I had as a kid. Keeping an eye on the book recommendations in this thread. I might see if the local library has some of them I can check out.

Seriously, everything about the cinematography in this scene just sells Morpheus as a character. From the smile he gives as Neo enters the room, to spinning the small case containing the pills, to the glass of water being present in the scene before you know it's purpose, to seeing Neo make the choice reflected in his glasses. It's incredible, and I imagine anyone who was around at release would remember this scene if they were reminded of the first movie.

In the first movie, it's definitely Trinity. Lots of people remember the opening as well as the iconic "Dodge this." moment. But Morpheus is a runner up for non-action cinematography, especially the scene where you first meet him and with the red/blue pill. In Reloaded, it's probably Neo. The chateau fight scene has some of the most iconic shots in that whole movie, if not the entire franchise. Especially the start of the fight where Neo basically stops a storm of bullets coming at him. I haven't watched Revolutions in forever so I can't say about that one.

Thread Non-binary character design.
A character that comes to mind recently is Boogiepop, from the light novel series of the same names. While Boogiepop inhabits a woman (being the alter ego of Touka Miyashita), they are explicitly described as being gender neutral/masculine in expressions. At one point in the series, when asked what gender they are, they rather explicitly say it doesn't matter what they're referred to as. The novel illustration goes out of it's way to try and show that with explicitly neutral and occasionally masculine expressions on their face.

Thread In a complete reversal, Treasury says Social Security beneficiaries who typically do not file a tax return will automatically get coronavirus payment
Both SSDI and SSI have limits, but they're handled differently. SSDI can earn so much in a month, and once you go over that, you're considered making "substantial gainful activity", and can lose your benefits if you're not on a trial work period. How much the SGA limit is differs depending on if you're blind or not. As long as you're under that limit, however, you're fine. SSI instead takes away half of what you make (not counting the first $85 or so) from your SSI payments. You also have to stay below a specific asset limit. Once you make so much, you basically lose your SSI benefits. SSDI generally gets more money than SSI, on that note.

I like my Vive, but the wands are definitely the weak point of it. Some games (such as the aforementioned Bethesda games) try to control the menus through the touchpads, and it just doesn't work because they're so poorly set up. Fallout 4 VR is a nightmare if you leave it on the default configuration - Pulling up the pipboy requires you to physically pull your arm up, then navigate the menus with a really weird touchpad config. I wanna upgrade to the Index controllers eventually, but money's tight. :\

Skyrim and Fallout are pretty average VR experiences, honestly. Bethesda did almost nothing to adapt them for VR, especially the menus which are a real pain to navigate on the Vive wands. Doom VFR feels like it's on the cusp of greatness. When it works,, it feels exhilarating. But a handful of bugs and control issues really hamper the experience, as does the inability to play the Doom 2016 campaign in it.

Eh, Housewife Hinata hasn't been that bad actually. She's had her moments too, especially in recent episodes. Also, Boruto delivered some awesome Sakura moments, and Shino's been more relevant in Boruto than he ever was in Naruto. Hey woah. Not only are you taking this scene completely out of context (Naruto put a part of himself in her BECAUSE she was assertive) but she also got assertive like 600 chapters ago. Of course, she spent like 400 of those 600 chapters being ignored. >.>

Yeah, I think the next real major event they got was during the start of Part 2, specifically during the Itachi Pursuit Arc. That kind of negligence happened to a lot of side characters, sadly. It's the biggest flaw with the manga, to be honest. I'm really grateful to Studio Pierrot for at least trying to give the side characters more on screen time with the anime, even if they weren't always successful.Well, I won't pretend that filler was 100% super good. They ruined one of my favorite NaruHina moments (the aforementioned scene where they talk before Neji) by pairing it up with some of the stupidest filler in Part 1 Naruto. But you gotta give them credit for trying, which is more than Kishimoto did.

Nah. I'm talking about the scene right after her and Naruto talk. Naruto gets thrust into this weird ass rush to the arena, with stupid Konohanamaru hijinks. It ruins one of the best moments, because fireworks literally announce the start of the silly stupid filler crap, and it's completely nonsensical until Naruto hits the arena. It also made Naruto look several times more incompetent for no reason, so it was character derailment too.Boruto has done a much better job with balancing it's supporting cast than Naruto ever has. Almost all of the new Kohana 12 have managed to stay relevant and have good scenes in the anime. Studio Pierrot even added some amazing scenes with Team 10 that werren't in the manga, for example.

I won't pretend that Kishimoto handled his supporting cast very well. However he definitely did build up Naruto and Hinata as early as the Chunin Exams. They had many moments together that Naruto never demonstrated with another character at that point. Chapter 79 and 80 established that Naruto did see something in Hinata that he liked, and the other characters referenced how similar the two of them were. Similarly, Chapter 98 established that Naruto was willing to talk about stuff to Hinata that he never willingly voiced to anyone else. It was definitely there, and not out of left field.

Oh, hi. Twelve year old Hinata was basically me at that same age, personality wise. So she became my favorite character almost instantly. Sure, I enjoyed some moments. But a lot of the time I was locked away in my own room in a bout of depression, or trying my best to absorb myself in something else to hide the pain. Then people reached out to me. They helped me get through my past and hard times. With their help, things turned around. I got to finally transition genders to be who I really wanted to be. I beat back my social anxiety and depression. I'm going to college and looking at a future in a career I love. We barely got Boruto interacting with the original cast beyond a single episode, and the inconsistencies with Urashiki's tactics and Sasuke being out of Chakra every five minutes really didn't help. Thread Boruto |OT| Naruto Next ERA
The manga's been pretty successful with both. It's just that the pacing sucked until recently. Speaking of character moments, something this arc did a GOOD job of is comparing and contrasting Naruto and Boruto. Both of them are extroverted, energetic, and rambunctious. But when Boruto hits moments where the rambunctious energy ends, he starts acting A LOT like Hinata. One good example was back in Episode 131, where he displayed a level of gentleness that's more associated with her.Of course, he wasn't successful at stopping Naruto here. But none the less, the expression on his face is very different from the usual Naruto-like expressions he can make. This isn't the first time we've seen this either. As far back as the first arc of the anime, we've seen an occasional gentle side to him show up. It was also very noticeable after him and Naruto talk right before the Momoshiki fight. The episode after also showed off another Hinata-like trait in that Boruto has the same introspective nature and tendency to put himself down for his failures. Notice the scenes after Boruto slaps away Naruto's hand because he's afraid of the Nine Tails:He puts himself down. Just like Hinata. We rarely, if ever, saw Naruto put himself down. He had a straightforward nature and could always keep himself motivated. Usually, when Naruto became introspective, it was because something in the plot MADE him become introspective: His fight with Neji and Hinata talking to him, Pain "killing" Hinata, The Waterfall of Truth scene, Neji's death, The genjutsu ball trap in The Last. Etc, etc. Something always knocks him into an introspective state. Contrast this to Boruto, who becomes introspective fairly quickly, often because he's failing at something. When he feels he's made a huge mistake by swiping away his own father's hand. When he fails to master the Byakugan. When he feels guilty using the cheating device during the Chunin Exams. This kid is like the perfect mixture of his parents, even if it isn't always obvious at first. He's got Naruto's energy, his extroverted nature, and his natural talent for drawing in friends. But he's also got Hinata's gentleness and introspective and perceptive nature. And he's so very much a Tsundere, lol.

In regards to the intersectionality comment, the moderation team already consists of a diverse group of people, but this is an area where the more perspectives we can get, the more ground we can cover. So we are looking to flesh out our perspective even more. Many of our staff are also part of various marginalized and minority groups. If there's a discussion that requires more than one point of view, we seek out perspective from all relevant staff. As for transparency, one such example was noted in the opening post, in that we'd like to make sure our presence is more visible in threads going forward. We're looking into other ways of boosting transparency as well, such as increasing the frequency in which people who report see resolution notices and making a more active approach to guidelines.

Thread If you play on PC, what resolution do you game at?
Most games on the market support ultrawide. Usually the ones that don't either have a good reason for it (2D / Fighting game where it could offer an unfair advantage), are simply from a time when utlrawide wasn't common, or can be modded to support it. And the appeal of it is in it's larger screen estate. You can see more to the left and the right sides of the screen. For many games, this gives them greater immersion then you'd get with a standard 16:9 display. For other games, this can mean more UI space (extremely useful in an MMO or UI heavy game) and thus more customization options. Some screenshots to give you an idea. First is Grim Dawn. Second is Destiny 2.You can actually test ultrawide yourself and see if you like it on a 16:9 display. Set a custom resolution of 1920x800 or 2560x1080 or whatever, and you'll get the black bars on the top/bottom for ultrawide.

Clearly, if they ever do a proper timeskip, Shueisha needs to give Himawari her own manga/novel series. >.> Also, real talk: The art in the newest chapter is Boruto's design is spot on. Ikemoto actually draws adult Shikimaru better than the anime or Kishimoto does. Sarada actually looks like Sarada in most shots now, as does Mitsuki. And the background art is just downright gorgeous to boot. Ikemoto's upped his game, and the results show. If this is the kind of quality we can expect going forward, we're in for a real treat.

What I've heard is that it's a bit of a mis-translation. This arc most likely occurs in the short gap between the first Valley of the End fight and Naruto heading out with Jiraiya. He's really not. He's in the same boat as Himawari, where he's a good mix of both parents, and thus kind of his own thing. Though it can be hard to tell given that he primarily fights with the Super Beast Scroll and all.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is basically Devil May Cry: The MMO, with an excessive dose of anime. It'll do fine, even if it won't blow away the market. Especially because it's free to play and cross-platform. The biggest things that'll hold it back is the realization that it's eight years too late, and the direction the story takes Episode 4 onward. Episode 3's story is fantastic, however.

Yeah, it definitely isn't doing your typical framerate drops. We see it go from 60 to 30 very quickly in the US Gamer video, often when it doesn't seem like there's a lot going on. Most bizarrely, right before the player pick's up Roc's Feather. This is actually worse than if it was just "Can't get the framerate locked to 60 all the time", because it results in a very jarring transition and just feels bad. I wonder why they've done it this way? I would very much prefer a locked 30 to this, myself.

I watched the whole video, and it really makes me feel for the mother and Luna. The court transcripts alone prove that Luna is making the choice to present herself as a girl, and that the father is trying to prevent that due to religious reasons. It's incredibly depressing how the mother has been effectively demonized for simply doing what's best for her children, all because of a smear campaign against her. I really urge everyone to watch the full thing. While you can get the jist of the video by the halfway point (and Corven has provided a good summery up to that point), the author goes into much more detail about the people involved with the original news story, and how they completely twisted it to control the media narrative.

What they call the "Special Attack Gauge" is probably just the Limit Break Gauge, and Cloud's just used it. The bar is drained, after all. My guess is that Punisher is probably a secondary attack with special properties, and using actions from the Command Menu drains the blue bar instead. It's hard to tell for sure tho, because there doesn't seem to be any indicator of Punisher being used, unlike with the standard attack.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends or Samurai Warriors 4. The first Samurai Warriors 4 is, IMO, one of the best Musou games for people to start with. It's fairly beginner friendly, has some fantastic music and a great selection of characters and stages to play. The campaign is also based around controlling two characters at once, so it's a great choice for co-op play. Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is an updated version of the original Dynasty Warriors 8, and it's jam packed to the brim with content. You could put hundreds of hours into it. It also has co-op play (although not as good as Samurai Warriors 4's co-op) and a fairly extensive selection of gameplay modes. Plus, the new content in XL focuses on everyone's memetic badass, Lu Bu. You really can't go wrong with either one.Xtreme Legends is the updated version of Dynasty Warriors 8. It has the standard Musou gameplay that everyone loves (or hates...) at it's finest. Most people are probably talking about that. Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires is the spin-off game where they mix strategy elements from Romance of the Three Kingdoms into the Dynasty Warriors gameplay. It's not everyone's cup of tea, so check some gameplay videos out before you buy. But if you enjoy it, DW8 has a lot of crazy awesome customization options and is fairly fun to play thanks to patches added over time.

All of the people listing Hinata disappoint me. Too much of her character revolves around Naruto, yes, but she was pretty well written insofar as supporting main characters go. Anyhow, as far as worst character goes, it's probably not anyone on that list except for Kaguya. Kishimoto was generally pretty good at writing himself out of his own craziness during Naruto, but Kaguya is the one point where you can tell his skill as a writer completely failed him. Not even in the whole "Black Zetsu was manipulating all of Ninja history" way, but in the sense that she basically took ALL the hype out of Madara, and didn't provide anything nearly as exciting. Plus, fatigue hit it's highest point there after how long the previous events were. It's a big factor as to why the Fourth Shinobi World Era story arcs are as weak as they are

I honestly think the manga's super good for the most part, but it suffers from one major issue: Pacing. There's a clear disconnect with the storytelling, which is told like a weekly series, and the monthly release schedule. This is why some chapters can feel like they don't go anywhere. Which is a shame, because the manga's high points have been REALLY high in the past 10 chapters. This is only gonna get worse as the anime caches up to the manga too. I'm not sure what the solution to this is.

The other two things I want are Hinata sparring with Boruto, and an Uzukami Family team beat down on an antagonist. I haven't gotten either of yet either. :(

On the other side, they've had to adhere to the structure of the manga, which primarily focuses on Team 7. Thread As the father of the genre, PSO2 still does looter shooter better than the modern AAA ones
You kind of downplayed a lot of PSO2's negative traits, to be honest. Sure, there's 15 weapons, but a lot of overlap among those weapons, and each class is limited to 2 or 3 of them usually. Not counting the Gunslash, which has historically been decent to mediocre to worthless at any given point in the game's history. The game also has ability bloat, arguably more so than any MMORPG I've seen in recent memory. You basically need a guide to figure out which Photon Arts and Techniques are worth using and which aren't. This is to say nothing of PA/Technique crafting. I also don't know if I'd call PSO2 a "looter shooter", as it's more of an action game almost in the vein of Devil May Cry. There are only two real shooting classes (mechanically) and one of them is a hybrid class that can also melee. The game also lost a lot of the RPG and dungeon crawling aspects that Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Universe had too. I still love the game tho, and would have gladly played it in English had it came out. The concept of Emergency Codes and Emergency Quests is utterly brilliant, and I wish more MMORPGs would implement similar things.

I'm actually kind of surprised it's as high as 50%. In randoms, respawns can be difficult. You have to win a team fight that's often at a disadvantage for one reason or another. Plus, lots of players tend to go solo even when it's not to anyone's benefit. I attribute to this to the lack of a solo mode, however. In a premade squad however? Respawns can literally turn the game back in your favor. Easily my favorite mechanic in the game, and it's won me and my friends games by getting off a clutch revive at the end of a match.

The ultrawide support is kind of odd. It overall works correctly, but they bizarrely count heat actions as a "cutscene" and apply borders on the side of the screen during the heat action. It's a really odd kind of transition. I hope someone creates a mod soon to remove those borders. Also, the keyboard and mouse controls would be fine, except mouse support appears to be broken? You can't really control the camera with it properly. It's like it has some form of extremely negative mouse acceleration applied by accident. Those two issues aside, the port is fantastic and runs like a dream. Rockinng an i5-4460 and an RX 580 here. Getting 60 FPS across the board on ultra.

My Path of Exile config still works amazingly well for playing the game, and it lets me reap all the benefits of KB/M AND a gamepad in FFXIV.You'd probably be interested in my Path of Exile configuration:The way it works is that the flasks are put on the analog stick, which you flick in a direction to use. You primarily use the touchpad as a mouse to move. Shoulder buttons and such are used to activate each of your abilities. This way you can move, use abilities, and use flasks all simultaneously like a real keyboard setup, and you don't have to take your hands off anything. Thread FFXIV is becoming the new face of Final Fantasy IMO
The vast majority of lore in it's story is originally created. What it does borrow from other games is incorporated extremely well too.Your mileage may vary, as it depends on what you are hesitant about MMOs. It does contain a combat system that borrows from the likes of World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2, and you will be required to group up with others at various points to finish the main story. However, most of the story content is fairly easy, and most players are fairly respectful towards beginner players if you're willing to at least communicate that you're new. There's a full matchmaking system in place for group content too, so finding a group isn't difficult.

I don't know how he pushes out so many good songs patch after patch.I dunno if I'd agree with this. There's an MMO there, and it definitely takes clear inspiration from some of the genre's best (by Yoshida's own admittance, no less), so I can understand that turning some people off. OP should probably clarify: You need to buy each expansion individually, the latest expansion gives you all previous expansions. This means that if you buy Stormblood now, you will get Heavensward. If you wait and buy Shadowbringers when it comes out, you will get Stormblood Heavensward with it. If nothing else, Final Fantasy XIV is a fantastic Final Fantasy game and this is a great way to get started with it. It has everything you need to play the original main storyline.

Thread Final Fantasy XIV Online Starter Edition free on Twitch Prime
Let me clarify on this, real fast. This confusion comes up a lot. For every copy of A Realm Reborn (aka "Starter Edition", or the base game) you add to the account, you will get 30 free days of playtime. The expansion packs do not give free playtime. Every FFXIV account may currently have a single license attached for each of the currently supported versions. This means you can add one copy of A Realm Reborn for Windows, one for PS4, and one for Mac. If you add all three to your account, you will get 90 days of free play time. But you cannot add a license more than once per platform. You must also buy each expansions on the respective platform you wish to play them on. For example, this is my account page: In my case, I can log into the game on PS4, but I cannot go into Heavensward or Stormblood areas. However, there is a distinction that people should be aware of: What Square Enix calls "Windows" can actually refer to the standalone version, or it can also refer to the version on Steam. You may only have Windows version on your account. You may not (currently) mix and match the Steam and Non-Steam versions. Related to this, if you buy the game on Steam, you are locked into Steam. Which means you buy all future expansions on Steam. And expansions purchased on Steam will not work on the Non-Steam version. On the flipside, you can pay for your subscription through Steam if you buy it there. For some people, the regional pricing is better too. TLDR: You need a license for each platform you want to play on and each expansion per platform. "Windows" can be either Steam or Non-Steam, but not both. You get 30 days free for each license of the base game added.

I think it's kind of a symptom of the arc's biggest issue: That it doesn't really justify it's episode count a couple of times. It's not even that the plot or story are bad, but that we had a number of pointless detours throughout it that artificially extended it's length. The cave being one such example, and the Hidden Stone Shinobi Training Grounds being another such example. I actually enjoyed the story here, for what it's worth. But those few moments just felt... awkward. I think we'll see Garaga again in the future tho.

Physical Education was probably among one of the worst classes I've ever taken, at any level of schooling. Between the bullying, the issues with locker rooms, the issues with being transgender (and not knowing it), and the fact that we often did a whole lot of piss poor activities (YES MAKE THE KID WITH A FEAR OF HEIGHTS CLIMB A ****ING ROPE) that weren't fun at all meant that I spent years not seeing the value of physical activity to improve myself. I envy the people in this thread saying stuff like "We got to lift weights!" or "Our sport counted as PE class", because we didn't get like that when I was growing up in the late 90s. It took years before I went anywhere near anything resembling a public locker room again. Kids skipped as much as they could then, and I'm not surprised they're still skipping now.

I don't have as much of an issue with Kaguya alone. The fight did provide some memorable moments, such as the above Reverse Sexy Harem Jutsu and the final attack. Rather, I feel like Kaguya herself is a symptom of Kishimoto writing himself into a corner with Madara. Kishi's pretty good at building on what he wrote previously, but in this case it ended up being his own downfall. One thing I like about Boruto right now is, despite not quite having the gritty down-to-earth feel, the fights have gone back to being closer to Part 1. Most of the taijutsu sequences have been downright incredible thanks to the animators being trained in martial arts, and the characters are back to using hand seals and ninja tools again. We've seen a wide variety of puppets, kunai, swords, staffs, scrolls, and such used, and it FEELS good. Even when they escalate the fights for whenever Naruto or Sasuke fight, there's still a weight and feel to them that late Part 2 Naruto mostly lacked. See: Sasuke pulling out the ninja tools for the Momoshiki fight. Sarada is also making the Sharingan awesome again. None of the Mangekyō Sharingan stuff we saw in late Part 2, just pure ability copying, reflexes, and clever genjutsu usage.

Kabuto getting spared because of Izanami is still one of the silliest things. Dude helped kickstart a world war, did some of the worst and immoral deeds out of anyone, and basically got no punishment for it. Like what the heck? Orochimaru at least helped stop the war, and he didn't directly instigate it. Plus the dude's under constant surveillance. Still not exactly the punishment he deserves for his earlier crimes, but eh... Sasuke didn't get off the hook tho, as was shown in the anime.

Thread The ARPGs of the SNES
It was the same for me. I first was introduced to the franchise through the SNES version. The Genesis version seemed rarer, compared to it's SNES counterpart, but it's so much more fun to play. The SNES version ramps up the difficulty for no apparent reason. The worst change is probably to enemy defense. If Adol doesn't have the right weapon in any version, the enemies will take reduced damage and you'll hear a special sound indicating your attacks aren't powerful enough. In the SNES version, however, that damage reduction has been bumped up massively, with enemies that take up to 90% less damage. Excessive level and money grinding basically becomes mandatory, as does gratuitous use of the Power Ring. Speaking of the Power Ring, the rate at which lose Ring Power in the SNES version is twice as fast. I'm not certain if this is a bug, or if it's intentional, but either way it makes the game a lot harder. The enemies in the SNES version are just wonky in general too. Hit detection is off compared to other versions (try dodging Dulan's swords in the SNES version), and many of the enemies move faster for no apparent reason. It's a real shame. The other versions are fantastic (if difficult) ARPGs. :\

It's rather unfortunate that the SNES version of Ys 3 is so poor. Wonky hit detection (in a game that already didn't have the best hit detection), poor music, muted drab graphics, and screwed up difficulty make it the worst of the three console ports. The Genesis version is pretty good as far as APRGs go, providing you can withstand the high difficulty.

Hmm... a lot of those are little adjustments you can make. You can change the appearance of the size of your head by changing your hairstyle (get a style that draws attention to your facial features, rather than size), and proper use of skin care can help with your eyes and stuff. Or do what I do and wear glasses, which make my eyes pop. >_> Not much you can do about a bigger rib-cage, but while you can't change your height, you can totally own it. I'm 6'1" myself, but I totally end up passing because I simply wear clothes that draw attention to my legs and make them look good. How tall are you?

There's a lot more to passing than just hormones. Hormones will do the subtle changes that'll push you over the edge, but there's also hair style, clothing, skin care, body language, etc that'll make one pass too. I didn't really feel like I passed until I got bangs and stuff, as it complimented my appearance and made me look super feminine. Even then, it still took people correctly gendering me as a women by accident to realize that I passed., is there anything specifically you don't like about your appearance? It's possible that hormones could be amplifying your emotions. I remember that I had pretty bad mood swings when I first started, and eventually they disappeared as my T levels stabilized. I also remember having them come back when I was bumped up to 8mg Estrodial, before stabilizing again. Make sure to keep your endocrinologist (and if applicable, therapist) up to date on your emotional levels, and keep your hormone levels checked to make sure they're okay. The physical changes you've noted, including breasts being sensitive, are pretty normal for the one month period. It's around three months or so that you'll start seeing bigger changes, and you're younger than me as I mentioned before, so don't give up. I bet you'll look very pretty in a year or two. Sadly, I can't give you advice for spiro, as I'm not on it; I was lucky enough to suppress my T levels with just Estrodial and Finasteride. D:

I used to think like this back before I started transitioning. That I'd never be able to pass, because I'm too manly, too tall, and getting too old to do it. But after a year on hormones I now pass pretty much even without trying. The difference in my appearance is incredibly striking, and it made a world of difference to my mood. It sounds like you're even younger than I am when I started too, so please don't give up. You can do this, and age is on your side. As the other have noted, you have nothing to lose. Keep on the hormones, and let them play out so you see the full effect. You may end up surprising yourself. Thread Monster Hunter: World PC |OT| Now Jaggi Free!
So, I wanna talk about how Monster Hunter World's official configuration for the Steam Controller is. Typically, official configurations for Steam Controller games come in two types: bindings, and native support. Bindings are where you assign a specific keyboard, mouse, or Xbox input to the Steam Controller. Such as say making the right trigger the left click on your mouse button, or assigning WASD to the stick, or say like the "Q" and "E" keys to the face buttons. These are the most common types of official configurations for the Steam Controller. On the other hand, you also have official configurations with native support. What this means is, is instead of getting a configuration where you might bind the specific buttons or keys to the controller, you instead bind actions to it. For example, you'd assign "Fire Gun" to the right trigger or "Reload" to the X button. These typically allow for a lot more customization compared to what you could do alone, and usually allow you to designate different actions for different parts of gameplay (I.E. menus having one set of control, or vehicles having their own controls) Monster Hunter World is actually a game with native support. You can tell because it gives you a list of actions by default with the official configuration, and there's an option to switch to "Legacy Keys" in there. But they've done something rather unusual for this native support. All the "actions" are just named after generic buttons on a controller, such "Face Button Up" and "Face Button Down", in addiction to having a special action for hitting both attack buttons at once with a single press. Likewise, it seems to allow for two different sets of controls, one for melee and one for aiming. It's very peculiar, and I've never seen anything like it before in the nearly three years I've owned the Steam Controller. There's just one problem... ... none of these "actions" appear to work as far as I can tell. To top it all off, even though this configuration is official (it was there before the game launched, and is always atop the community), it's not in the "Recommended" section like an official configuration would be. Given the way Steam Input works, and based upon how these buttons are named and the fact that Steam Input supports the Dualshock 4, I suspect this was going to be how you were suppose to get Playstation prompts in game. Unfortunately, unless someone finds said prompts in the game file there's no way to verify it, because the configuration doesn't work and was only ever finished for the Steam Controller itself. No configuration exists for the Dualshock 4 if it's plugged in, although you can adapt the official configuration from the Steam Controller over just fine if you want. Monster Hunter World itself works fine with an Xinput based solution, such as an Xbox controller or another controller running through Steam Input and the generic gamepad template. Really makes me wonder what was going on with this config tho... TLDR: They made a native Steam Controller config to do what the generic bindings can already do. Except said native config doesn't work anyhow.

I really like the actual fights too for portraying them as weighty. It's something that you don't often see nowadays, and it's very Evangelion-esque.

Yeah. The manga art has gotten seriously good. The earliest chapters were trying way too hard to be busy in many different aspects. Ikemoto's realized that "Less is more" when it comes to how much stuff is in each panel, and how complex each character design is. Plus his art has significantly improved in technique over the past few years. This was Himawari in Chapter 1: This is Himawari from the more recent chapters: Her proportions are much better. Her outfit is more detailed in terms of folds. Her facial features actually look like Naruto's now, instead of looking like a clown. The only real issue remains is the fact that he tried to apply Hinata's curved sidebangs to Himawari, and they don't look right due to being too short. In addition to this, everyone has become a whole lot less babyfaced. Here's Boruto in Chapter 1: Here's Boruto from the latest chapter: He went from having a very weird "stuffed baby faced" look, to actually looking like he does in the anime and in Kishimoto's art. It's a very drastic improvement.

So we get really big highs like episodes 79 and 82, mixed in with some lows, like the "puzzles" to the Great Snake Sage and now the Heart of Stone stuff. The themes of the arc are awesome, and exploring the other villages (especially Iwagakure) is something that Naruto didn't really go into much, even with the old filler.

You can't really just cut away what Kishimoto wrote so easily, but if you insist... Naruto and Boruto's relationship has been a focal point since the beginning of the anime, Shikamaru's had a lot of onscreen time with his son and wife, Sakura and Sarada have had lots of mother-daughter chats over the course of the anime (the camping episode being a good one for this), Kakashi got a lot of focus in the graduation exams, and his relationship, advice, and lessons to Boruto were foreshadowing for future events. I'll give you Sasuke, if only because so far he hasn't been around for anything that Kishimoto hasn't written. But the rest of them have all been there and had on screen interactions or subtle world building. Obviously not as much as the new cast (it's no longer the old gen's story anymore) but it's been there. Add in the novels and stuff not animated yet and there's even more.

Regardless of how you feel about Naruto/Sasuke and their respective families, they got a significant amount of exposure in the new series. This is actually kind of a weird case where the anime/manga isn't showing them doing stuff, for whatever reason. Hinata does a mission in Naruto Shinden, but she's usually busy taking care of her family. Ino and Temari apparently still do missions, and Sakura's still Konoha's lead doctor. I do agree with you on the pacing tho. While I'm not as cynical about the series as some others are, I feel the pacing has been very off at times. This was rather noticeable in the Chunin Exams arc. Not counting the appearance of Momoshiki and co, the entire final round of the exams was covered in four episodes. They spent more time fighting (two and a half episodes) then they did on any singular fight in the final round. Part of the reason why Boruto 65 felt like such a breath of fresh air (besides it's insanely high production values) is it's one of the few times the show had a chance to breath and actually expand a single fight scene out. EDIT: Now that I looked at the episode list and thought about it, I think the biggest issue might be the fact that the anime is adhering to cours. I'd say the movie arc was akin to the Chunin Exams arc from the original, although with higher highs and lower lows. Most of the other arcs have been fairly good, if not matching the highs of Naruto's arcs, and we haven't had anything on the level of the Pain arc yet. Chocho arc was the only arc I legitimately haven't liked. Everything else was pretty good so far.

What will happen if/when Hiashi passes? Is Hanabi still set to become the heiress? How did Neji's death affect the family divide? How does the branch family feel about Boruto and Himawari? I think you're making a leap in logic to justify a conclusion that's not actually supported by the movie anywhere. It doesn't explicitly state that the Ōtsutsuki clan were ended when Momoshiki and Kinshiki died. Just merely that Kaguya was amassing an army of White Zetsu to counter a threat that would come to steal the chakra fruit from her. Rather noticeably, in the movie, Momoshiki and Kinshiki introduce themselves. Sasuke does not explicitly mention names from the scroll. It's in the manga version where he explicitly names them.

Yeah, I know you're just trying to rile me up, but I think you're gonna regret it. Hinata's not my favorite character for nothing. :D Anyhow... Naruto and Sakura have no romantic attraction to each other in the slightest. This is something they acknowledged even in series. On Naruto's side, his crush on Sakura is only fueled by two very shallow elements. The first being that he thought Sakura was pretty, and the second being that he felt he could beat Sasuke if he won Sakura's affection. The second element itself only came about due to Naruto's complete misunderstanding of romantic love and why someone would fall in love in the first place. On Sakura's side, even at the best of times she never demonstrated anything resembling genuine romantic affection towards Naruto. This was most evident in Chapter 469, in which even someone like Naruto, who has difficulty telling the four types of loves apart, could recognize that Sakura wasn't being sincere. He had been around Sasuke and Sakura enough to know what real love, what real romantic attraction on Sakura's part looked like, and what Sakura was showing him then clearly wasn't it.To put simply; they may have been close friends, and loved each other in the way friends do, but their relationship never turned romantic. It was at best that of a brother-sister type relationship. Despite all of the red herrings around a potential Naruto and Sakura relationship, neither of them really showed the foundation needed for sparks to actually fly. Naruto and Hinata's relationship is much stronger, with a much more solid foundation. Hinata's admiration of Naruto came about because she found someone going through problems just as bad (if not worse) than her own, yet that someone was able to persevere, endure, and even become a much better person for it. To her, Naruto was someone who could show her how to better handle her own problems. She didn't prescribe to the prejudices that the village had, due to her being naturally empathic of a person to begin with. This came out in full at the Chunin Exams, during her fight with Neji. Even though the two of them weren't close at the time, the fact that the person she admired so much cheered her on gave her the resolve to change herself. Kurenai acknowledges as such when she mentions in her narration that she's never seen Hinata have eyes full of determination like that before. This is also personally what resonated with me a lot; it's very powerful to have someone you admire support you during your hardest moments. As stated above, Naruto himself doesn't really get romantic love. He understands it on a superficial level, but doesn't really connect the dots. More than that, he's a kinesthetic learner; he primarily learns by doing. Prior to this point he wasn't really capable of understanding why Hinata acted the way she did around him, because he had no basis for it, and Hinata was too shy to act upon her admiration (THANKS HIASHI~!) All the girls liked guys like Sasuke, and demonstrated attraction like how Sakura does with Sasuke. That was basically all Naruto understood for a very long time. So for him, the Chunin Exams was the first time he really started to understand attraction on a level above merely being superficial. He couldn't really put it into words, but seeing Hinata show an incredible amount of determination in fighting Neji made him realize there was something about her that was really impressive. Hence his "I never knew Hinata was this incredible." line. The fact that his impression is backed up by both Lee and Sakura stating how similar him and Hinata are only helps solidify that impression. And because Naruto is a fairly straightforward kinda guy, once he started getting a better impression of her, his thought process changed from "She's a dark and aloof girl" to "She's a really nice person, and I like her." Naruto and Hinata's one on one conversation at the Chunin Exams, right before his fight with Neji, is also very significant. Naruto doesn't really open himself up to other people. He puts on a mask of being cheerful and straightforward, and buries his issues so that he can push forward. This is explicitly mentioned a few times during the series, mainly at the Waterfafll of Truth scene. Thus, the scene where Naruto and Hinata talk is significant because it's the first time in the series where Naruto actually lets someone see that side of him. The side that he normally hides. Usually, someone has to pry it out of him, but because Hinata always demonstrated kindness to Naruto, and never any of the scorn that most people do, he was able to open up to her during this scene. You can tell, based upon his body language, that Naruto was expecting a positive reaction back, yet he got one.Hinata managed to resonate with him in a way others haven't, and this cemented his change in opinion of her. He may have no understood the romantic implications of it at the time, but none the less it stuck. Moreover, it was the foundation for Hinata's admiration to change to genuine love, and for Naruto to find someone who actually understands him in a way few others can manage. Now, I aint gonna mince words: Kishimoto absolutely sucks writing romance. We all know it, and Naruto and Hinata's relationship is no exception to this. Bascially everything that was in The Last, character development wise, needed to happen post Pain arc in the series proper, and it's real shame that it didn't. But every interaction that Naruto and Hinata have after the Chunin Exams really reaffirms what was established during those exams. That Naruto, for Hinata, is someone who helps her change for the better, and that Hinata, for Naruto, is someone who helps him understand himself for the better. The war arc, for all of it's flaws, best demonstrates this. The two of them constantly end up reassuring the other, picking the other up when they're at a low point, and finding solace in each other. No one else in the series comes close to that for Naruto, and ESPECIALLY NOT Sakura. Heck, not even Iruka gets to be on that level. That's why the two of them are such a good couple, and why their romance works so well in The Last despite all the writing fumbles that happened before. It continues on even into Boruto as a series too; At the end of the day, Naruto's wife is the one person he trusts above all else. The one person he doesn't have to try and put on a mask for, and who he can express his fears and insecurities to.Speaking of Boruto, he's a pretty interesting and complex character because of of a blend he is of Naruto and Hinata. This is perhaps most noticeable in the stuff written by Kishimoto and Kodachi. Appearance wise, he has Naruto's blonde hair and blue eyes, but almost all of his facial features are Hinata's. His expressions and mannerisms are equal parts Hinata and Naruto too. Personality wise, while he's rambunctious and energetic like Naruto, he lacks the straightforward nature that Naruto has. He doesn't openly express his emotions, and he's got a real introspective nature, like Hinata. He's also quick to give him, like how Hinata was when she was young (before Naruto inspired and changed her), and this is demonstrated best in the Nue arc. He has a great deal of hesitation in being tested over his Byakugan, a very Hinata-ish trait, but puts up an of confidence over it, just like Naruto. When it's all said and done, and he was unable to make the Byakugan manifest sparring with Hanabi, he starts demonstrating traits that are VERY similar to Hinata. He gives up very easily and puts himself down. While he does have Naruto's trait of bouncing back, it takes him much longer, and it takes outside events (In this case, Hanabi and then the incident with Kasemaga) to really get him going again. Another good example of this with Boruto comes during their graduation exam to become Genin. Kakashi really berates and tears down Boruto on a psychological level, and it leaves a clear mark on Boruto. He doesn't bounce back easily from it like Naruto. Much like Hinata, he puts himself down, he blames himself, he gives up easily, etc It takes the other members of the class to convince him to get back up, to give it another shot. While most of the time he might resemble Naruto, it's during these moments that he really resembles his mother and actually takes on some of her most negative traits. And ultimately he's actually a pretty sweet, if horribly insecure, child underneath his rambunctious energetic nature. I'm very curious to see where they go with Boruto as a character because of this, especially in the manga.

Yeah, I'm fine with the OG Team 7 having that rivalry, but I feel like Kishimoto rushing to the Chunin Exams resulted in some uneven development. I think Kishimoto realized this going into part 2 too, as there was an active attempt to strengthen the bond between Naruto and Sakura as teammates. But Sasuke always felt like the odd one out, and his attempts at solving that didn't always work. Such as using flashbacks to fill in previously unseen/un-implied details about Naruto and Sasuke's relationship at the Academy. In contrast, we got to see Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki's development over the Academy years, and it really paved the way for the story proper. We know a great deal about their characters, and how they came to trust each other so well. It's also just refreshing to see them not repeat the same dynamic as the old team.

Given the series and it's focus on social issues in the new era, it'd be an interesting theme to explore. Plus it leads into drama should something happen to Boruto. Sarada is basically the most badass and likable female character in the franchise and it's great that she has a long term goal, she also avoids being a clone of her parents too in this manner. Naruto and Hinata's talk before the fight with Neji (OG #59) is surrounded by filler elements, even ignoring the second half of the episode being all filler. The final episode of the original series (OG #220) is mostly filler, but has some canonical parts near the end. I think a big flaw to this is due to the fact that Kishimoto wanted to flesh stuff out more, but had to jump straight into the Chunin Exams. It's implied that Naruto and Sasuke did have a degree of respect (and rivalry) between each other after the Land of Waves missions, and they did complete many missions in between that and the Chunin Exams. It just wasn't shown. This is an area where Boruto has absolutely surpassed Naruto in. Seeing their growth from academy students to genin all the way to the Chunin exams, with actual missions in between, really helped build everyone's characters and made the moment where Boruto cheated so impactful..

I'd say my biggest issue with Naruto overall is that a lot of the early chapter stuff comes back to bite Kishimoto in the butt later on. As far as mangaka go, he's FANTASTIC at writing by the seat of his pants (look at how few breaks he took), but there's a few details here and there that didn't quite hold up. Between Naruto failing the graduation exam three times (but somehow still being in the same class as the others), Naruto and Sasuke's friendship not being as fleshed out as I'd like, and a few odd details like the Byakugan becoming less and less important... well... yeah. I also think things probably would have gone a little bit better had Sasuke explicitly called out Boruto's usage of the Kote. Boruto's got an interesting dynamic going on here. He seems to take blunt criticism fairly well, as long as he doesn't perceive it as an attack on his personal character. His later training sessions with Sasuke show this when Sasuke doesn't sugarcoat any of his criticisms. But that criticism of his Rasengan was something Boruto kind of took as an attack on his character, and he didn't take it very well as a result.

The scene with the Kote in the locker room reflected upon that; he was going to put the Kote away and fight fairly. He WANTED to do that.
