Not to mention the only reason they found his remains was because they were looking for Guillen., the victim in this case. Ft. Hood is under a lot of deserved scrutiny because of the sexual assault accusations and how Guillen’s command failed to address them properly, not to mention the lack of response to her disappearance and the other one they labeled a deserter. They’re getting a full Inspector General investigation by the DoD.

Hey all, not sure how many of you were aware of this story circulating around the news, but I wanted to make a thread about it to bring attention and awareness to these issues. On April 22, PFC Vanessa Guillen went missing from a Ft Hood, TX parking lot. She was wearing civilian clothing and her keys, ID and other personal affects were found in her work locker. In the months leading up to her disappearance, her family reported to investigators that she was being sexually harassed by a superior at work. His supervision, in turn, essentially brushed it under the rug and did nothing about the situation. She went missing when she threatened to report him. For two months, the Army barely did anything to investigate her disappearance. Guillen’s family and attorney went to the media and social media and expressed their outrage, which finally made the Army do something about it. On Tuesday, her remains were found in a shallow grave covered in cement. The medical examiner is still conducting an autopsy to confirm her identity, but it’s most likely Guillen. Yesterday, police went to the home of their suspect (her supervisor) and when they tried to make contact, he shot and killed himself. Police have arrested another civilian suspect in the case, but refuse to release their identities at this point. This is the second murder / disappearance from Ft Hood in the past year. You can read more about how atrociously the Army handled the case and how they failed to protect a sexual assault victim and one of their own . The Department of Defense as a whole needs to do better for victims and women. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened.

This shit has been happening for years. Big streaming corporations like Twitch and professional esports leagues just don't want to talk about it because they care more about public image and money than doing the right thing. It's shameful that these stories didn't come out sooner, and I really hope these absolute pieces of human garbage see significant jailtime. As a woman I've experienced harassment online in games even when a streaming platform wasn't involved. This is a gaming culture problem that is exacerbated by the comfy blanket Twitch and others provide for abusers as well as the "boys club" mentality that many online communities support.

They do have colored lenses, but they're not prescription or for astigmatism. Unfortunately lenses that are for medicinal / daily use because you have eye issues generally don't come in colors because they're not meant to be used for cosmetic use, and I think they're not really viable production-wise. Like, getting a color a specific measurement is just kinda hard and will probably affect lens effectiveness. Here's the link though, if you want to check it out. For those struggling with stringfish, try going to a mystery island with a cliff river. You can despawn smaller fish by getting them interested in the lure and then pressing A to pull the lure back. Just despawn all the ones you don't want and catch the big ones, eventually you'll get a stringfish. Doing it on your island is tougher because there are so many more areas that you have to control fish spawns in. The smaller the area, the easier it is.

Hi there everyone, For quite some time I've been having this issue with my microphone / PC in that when I play a YouTube video or any kind of audio at all, everyone in my call can hear it too. I've tried multiple jacks on my PC, adjusting recording settings with my microphone and disabling sound mix, playing around with my mixer, you name it. I can use voice audio and they can hear me but I pretty much can't listen to anything when in a call because it then gets echoed to everyone in the call. I currently have a Behringer Xenyx Q502USB sound mixer. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Let me tell you about Lexa from The 100. So she’s like...queen of the really badass warrior people who literally survived an apocalypse, right? Straight up can kick your ass (spoiler: I secretly wish she would kick my ass) and doesn’t give a shit about anyone or anything. ...or so you think! Deep down beneath that hardened exterior she’s a total soft gay who enjoys being the little spoon (seriously, it was confirmed) and also likes candles and smelling nice. So in season 2, Lexa is finally introduced after all these stupid fights between her people and the sky people. She’s all “WE HATE YOU” but secretly she wants to make out with Clarke, the series protagonist. Obviously there’s a lot of sexual tension, but Lexa is still kind of an ass because she only cares about the greater good and none of Clarke’s friends like her. Over the course of the season Lexa: 1. Lets an entire village get nuked so the enemy wouldn’t know they had a mole in their midst 2. Kills Clarke’s lover (nothing of value was lost) 3. Almost declares war against literally everyone no less than three times and more! So Clarke and Lexa form a tentative alliance so that they can bring down the REAL bad guys, the United States and their president (they live like mole people in a mountain and are using Lexa’s people as guinea pigs). In the series finale they decide to attack the mountain but as soon as they’re about to blow open the access door...Lexa decides “yeah fuck this” and strikes a deal with the bad guys. Mountain guys let their guinea pigs go and Lexa and her army won’t attack them. Clarke is obviously like “what the fuck I made out with you!!!” and Lexa is all “sorry, ur hot but I don’t want any of my people to die...see ya”. So now the sky people are fucked. They get inside the mountain, get captured and are being literally ripped apart by the bad guys. Clarke’s only option is to straight up commit genocide, kill everyone inside the mountain (including women, children, innocents, etc) with a body count of at least 400. Basically if Lexa wasn’t a dick then there wouldn’t have been a mass murder. She’s still the best though. Anyway here’s a bonus video

We got the original trilogy HD remaster and that's all I care about really. 4 was...okay. I hate what they did to Phoenix. 5 was pretty mediocre up until case 4, then shit gets absolutely bonkers. I never finished 6. I did play ME1 and thought it was really good, such a shame we never got a western port of the sequel. I think that ship has sailed, unfortunately.

Thread So, let's talk about ARPGs!
To me, story and character customization. One of the reasons why I loved Dragon Age: Origins so much was that your story was unique. Everything from your upbringing, race, gender, etc. factored into the story that would unfold. It really helped me to get immersed in the world and lore, and I became really attached to my warden. I love games that let you create and shape who you are in an open and fluid way. Give us the tools to build our own story and then set us loose and see how things grow from there. I hate RPGs that have a fixed story and ending. What’s the point of an RPG if you can’t “role play”?

Same thing happened to me. We lost our dog, Mumford, last year and we were obviously heartbroken. We decided to go to the shelter to "LOOK" at some cats that may need homes (we already had two) and found two adorable kitten brothers who had been rescued from a hoarding situation. We were only going to take one, but the family behind us had a young kid that was screeching and freaking out the kittens so we decided to take both. Now they're over a year old and really big! Best decision tbh, I'm really glad we took both since they're really close and happy. We named them Maverick and Goose.

I was a NICU baby. Mom had to have an emergency C-section and even though I was only like, two weeks early, I had this weird infection / rash thing so they put me in the unit. Didn't get to go home for two weeks but my mom was fine and I think I turned out okay. Your son is beautiful, OP, and I'm glad he and your wife are doing well. Three Houses is a good place to start. It’s really accessible and the mechanics of the series are pretty easy to learn. I’d recommend playing through some of the older ones too if you like 3H; they still hold up today and they’re not so far removed from the FE formula to make them unbearable.

I think it's good. They obviously wanted a different feel for the game with new issues, characters, and settings. Sure, I miss Max and Chloe just as much as the next person, but I really like the socioeconomic themes they touched on with Sean and Daniel and their struggle as Mexican-Americans. I can respect Dontnod's willingness to try something new and offer a different perspective. I don't think Sean and Daniel are as likable as Max and Chloe, but they're still cool in their own way.

Honestly, I do. His EOD switch to Sawneeks screams bus to me, plus he has hardly made any worthwhile contributions of his own and suddenly jumped on Kalor's vote. I've been thinking about the timing and nature of his claim and if wee is telling the truth, it doesn't seem like a town play. I would imagine that scum have some kind of role that manipulates player movement so I'm more inclined to believe he is scum ATM than he is town. Obviously I'm frustrated with Kalor, but whatever. In hindsight I can see how my vote would be perceived as scummy. Nature of the game, I guess. Had to take a step away so that I wouldn't get mad and say something I'd regret. I have to see more from Aelus before I make a call on that front. They've been playing it pretty safe so far, which makes me wonder if that's just their playstyle or something else.

Let's say one of the people on Saw knew she was scum but yet, couldn't suddenly move without revealing themselves. I move from Fanto, a non-candidate to Terra, a possible also not candidate (he was pretty low in the rankings when I cast my vote, bringing his total to 4). People see me move from Fanto to Terra. Suddenly there's another train available that they can move to without being fishy.

what? Nin I would consider voting for today, I haven’t really liked his stuff that is absolutely not a good reason to vote for Sparks or Sorian. If Sparks’ claim is true, that’s a huge boon for town and we should absolutely keep him around for as long as possible until it’s proven he’s scum or someone counterclaims (which I wouldn’t expect until later) Sorian is a high content, quality contributor to town (when town, he’s tricky when scum) and should lynch him only if and when he’s proven to be scum I agree with Kalor and TWE though

I don’t like wee’s posts so far and I agree with whoever said that your posts come across as poking around to see what sticks but never really offering anything yourself. I think maol is fine, nin is null, still want to see more from terra. Sparks’ claim is pretty stupid to pull this early in the game but it got people talking so whatever. I give it a town lean since I doubt scum would bring attention to themselves this early on unless they were fishing for a counterclaim.

After my suicide attempt, I was hospitalized. While there, I started seeing a regular therapist and got new medication. When I was released, I started seeing a different therapist as part of my treatment plan and continued with my medication and I've been doing that for about ten months now. I also enrolled in an alcohol treatment plan, as I was drinking as part of my attempt. I do drink socially sometimes, but never like I used to and I plan on enrolling in AA meetings soon. I also try to do things I enjoy and see my loved ones and friends as much as possible to stay positive.

Thread My GF just finished the Pokémon games on Switch, what should I buy her next?
Fire Emblem is really fun. The game also doesn't require that you learn a bunch of crazy mechanics to progress, so it's a good entry point for beginners. Maybe a visual novel type game? Something like Phoenix Wright. It's a point-and-click so it's very easy to play.
