No doubt in my mind.I clearly remember when we went on road-trips back when I was younger the front of that car was always filled with splatted insects... Hasn't been the case for many years now... If we want to look we would see the effects in our daily lives too.

Thread The Official " I Got a Question but It's Not Super Important" Thread
So my better half had a bit of an accident. Suffice it to say that the passenger side of our car has a nice new collection of scratches. Some of these go down to the metal and expose it. Is this something we should get fixed to prevent rust or something? We really don't care about the optics of it, but want to avoid our car now starting to rust if that were a problem. So what affordable fix can people suggest if any is required?

I use foot long HDMI, foot long power and foot long Ethernet cables on my set up, now there is hardly any cable mess left. TV connector box at the bottom with two short HDMI cables going up to the PS4 and right to the ATV. Short Ethernet cables going to the router.

Thread Cobra Kai is a 10/10 and better than it has any right to be (LTTP Karate Kid sequel show)
I just want to say thanks to this thread. It brought the show to my attention and I am now half way through S1 and loving it. The humor is great and subtle, the story seems nice and subversive and I cannot wait to see where this goes.

Thursdays is "find lots of cool free stuff on the side of the road day" and I picked up about 2 yards of old fencing. Upcycled that over the weekend to build our very own compost. The front angled boards can be removed for easy access when we move it from one side to the other for mixing and airing. I'm really stoked with the end result. Couldn't be more happy. And our cyberpunk front lawn has now been fully tarped and is drawing lots of curious glances from the neighbours.

Thread Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC - Patch 1.02 is now available
At the end of the day, both avenues have merit, it's not as if one is unequivocally better or more right than the other. So as things stand we just don't want to encourage people just dropping into a thread to complain about said thread's existence. Hence the mild warning for thread whining. As was pointed out by someone else earlier, if there is no interested in a given thread they tend to die pretty quickly and drop off the main page. Now if in future we get to a point where a majority of threads on the main page are just patch notes, I am sure we would re-visit the rules and best practices surrounding them. For now I think we can get along with the rules around this as they are. Now I will warn myself for derailing this thread.

Thread For those of you who've had different kinds of flooring, which one did you prefer?
Anything but carpet. We recently got all laminate flooring in our house and love it. One continuous surface for the whole place (except the bathroom). if I had unlimited funds I’d get large tiles with floor heating though. I just like tiles.

I would sort away and then make a bulk order at bricklink to complete all the sets. Much better than having to explain what is missing to potential buyers. I have another stupid Michigan driving question. On the Michigan left in the U-turn section. The road is typically very wide. Often times cars will be two abreast to turn left when the opportunity arises. Oftentimes cars will queue in just one lane even though there would be room for two parallel cars. What's the deal? Is it supposed to be one or two lanes?

Question for the experts here. With our move to Michigan last year my wife enrolled in which is like a fast track student teacher program to be recognized as a school teacher here. It's not a college program or anything but it costs upwards of 5 grand to participate in. Without it she could not work as a teacher in Michigan. Any way to deduct that from the taxes? Judging by turbo tax only actual school programs can be deducted as life long learning expenses. She also did a yoga teacher training last year. Anyway to recognize that in our taxes?

Every Chinese tech billionaire worth his or her salt is seemingly currently starting their own EV company. I thought it might be interesting to discuss the EV market overall and how all the entrants stack up and develop over time. (location dependent):(ish):: Non conventional primarily EV companies: Relatively new entrant from China, with a development center in Michigan. Relatively far along the development cycle Likely to see the light of day. Very new entrant in the market, little is known so far. Well into development, they have prototypes driving around the streets. They see themselves as being focused on luxury. Based on and around the Fisker. Electric and hydrogen semi truck company from Utah. They actually already sell their cars in China, should arrive on western roads soon. Formerly known as Atieva, relatively far along the development cycle. The only bus manufacturer on the list, currently busy selling their vehicles to municipalities around the world. The only European company on the list so far. Based in Croatia and founded by a young entrepreneur. Whatever you want to say about Tesla and its eccentric owner and founder, it did kick start the electric vehicle development we are seeing today. Another electric truck company with a few notable prospective clients to its name already. Future mobility company, unclear to me what their business model actually is going to be. Easily 15+ I’ve been to climate strikes all over. Went to COP 2009 in Kopenhagen for the protest at the climate conference. The "chicken" nuggets at the Detroit Filling station are legit. But the vegan Tiramisu they serve is probably the best I have ever had! Vegan Soul was good but similar to CMO probably too comforty/fast foodie for me to go all the time. The GreenSpace Cafe is delicious Seva is pretty good. Still plenty to explore.

Considering all the dishonored games are great, I love Deus Ex and all things System Shock I am ashamed to admit how long it took for me to take the plunge on this one. But wow, just finished my second play through and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The game is dripping in atmosphere, the game play is really good, the story is engaging and interesting till the end. Had to lower the difficulty level at various points during the game because I was nope'ing out with those Nightmares and the higher level Typhons can give you a run for your money with the limited amount of resources you have. Not to mention those bloody laser operators... Special shout out to the soundtrack, which is often times just background music to me personally, but this has some really great songs. From the very first oneThrough the Yellow Tulip LoungeTo the very last song of the credits Was the game successful? Wish I had picked it up at full price now to support the developers. But I guess whatever Arkane puts out next I will be there day one.

As pie mentioned. Unless you are a member of the , being flexible is key. Most people you find on MMM et al. would be perfectly fine with substituting their passive income in off years.you have to remember in order to make up for a really bad year you would not need to have your high paying full time job to make ends meet as your foundation of passive income is still there. Also loads of people will take the flexibility of moving. I for one plan on primarily traveling once I am FI. And in bad years I will be quite happy to spend my time in Thailand rather than Zurich where cost of living will be much cheaper to weather out the storm, or I will spend a month longer at my parents in the summer. Overall the 4% rule should give you plenty of cushion. and if that is too risky for you aim for the 3% rule and work how ever many years more. It will be impossible to avoid risk entirely. And if your dream is to 100% only sit on the beach drinking margaritas and never lifting a finger again, then no number is safe.

I disagree, the basic principle is quite sound and simple. The more of your regular income you can squirrel away the more you can invest and build a nest egg. Granted there probably is a cutoff point on the low end where people legitimately cannot save because they are struggling to make ends meet. Where that threshold is will obviously depend on many factors and personal circumstance. However many (most?) people can easily trim fat and save more than they currently do. Of course assuming you avoid lifestyle creep it is much easier to save 50% of your income when you are making six figures.

The way I see it we all live on a spectrum. On the one end is zero ecological footprint on the other is eating engendered species every day while jet setting around the globe on a private jet and burning rain forest for fun. To be as close as humanly possible to the one end would mean I just go and string myself up over the nearest compost heap. Ever single thing one does moves one further up or down the spectrum. And everyone has to find a balance and find their place on the spectrum. Not all things are equally easy/hard. And I would argue that on balance eating predominantly plant based is relatively speaking easy and something people have a personal choice and influence over. (To be clear I am not hand waving the existence of food deserts or any other of a multitude of personal hardships some individuals might face preventing them from eating predominantly plant based) I'd argue it's easier than e.g. living in most places in the US without a car. I am aware of all these things and do my best to have more of my life's choices point me towards the positive side. Everything I do? Unequivocally not. Could I personally do more? Probably. Am I doing more than the average middle class westerner? Probably? People have to understand their personal life's choices have consequences and I will continue to side eye people who are concerned about animal welfare or climate change yet do not even consider cutting down on their daily meat excesses.

Well arguable slaughtering animals is inhumane, period. Also I do always find it strange that many carnivores bang on about "ethical sourced meats", when the fact of the matter is that a vast, vast, vast majority of meat is not and will never be produced that way. I'd argue most people who bang that drum don't go out of their way to find a local farm but just get their meat at the local super market just like almost everyone else.

Personally, I don’t think this comparison works it’s about doing what is reasonably within your power. For example I care about both the climate and animals, so we only have one car, having no car is not really reasonable within most of the US. Went to a screening of Game Changers yesterday. Fantastic documentary, with many genuinely funny parts. It will be on Netflix starting next wedensday and if I don't forget I'll create an OT for it then. The focus is clearly on vegan athletes and that fabled . But it does tie it all together with environmental concerns and animal welfare at the end too. Debunks so many common misconceptions and shows how a plant based diet is a) the fuel we are evolved to run on and no matter what more healthy and beneficial. Some interesting tid bits I thought were interesting and want to highlightIt's a great movie, I highly recommend it if you get the chance ahead of next week, elsewise check it out on Netflix. The Arctic is significantly more tricky. But as long as you have a heating station closely connected to all houses you should be fine. Each heating station requires on steady source of coal. my problem was thelimited space so not sure how much a recommended layout works.

Nice! Is it in any way possible to expand to new areas? I.e. a new "New World" sector to conquer? Anyway, as Anno 1800 is a gorgeous game I thought I would share my creation. I left the Old World behind it is in a reasonably safe equilibrium throwing off up to $10k. Once that was set I moved to Cape Trelawney. My main capitol with the Investor blocks front and center. Once I realized the upper classes no longer need pleb stuff like markets and churches they were moved to the back of the city to where the commoners live... Even zoomed in it looks really pretty! The power lines can be quite hideous though when you plaster an area with cobbled roads... Better view of the harbor, lots of fishing going on there... They are providing for 50k people. Rolling hills of wheat overlooking the city. (more fisheries in the background. I love the fact that one can freely place the fields now (as opposed to the Anno's of old), I have long strips to reach the edge of the map and then utilize as much area as possible that would else wise be wasted. Beer and bread being harvested out back. All the metal works have been moved to one island. All the raw materials are sent from all over the continent to this one island where they are refined and then sent on to the main island. One of the many small islands without a population just working off their standard island population once they get their own harbor. I feel like a dirty colonialist by just using the New World to farm coffee, cotton and rum for my empire to gobble up. It is really hard to get a balance that works in the arctic. I have torn down the entire island twice to rebuild it from scratch to try and make it work.... They get schnaps, coal and brass from the old world to even have a chance at surviving out there... Trying to settle a glacier for that sweet sweet natural gas is also a pain in the backside. They are very finicky and as you can see one refinery recently exploded. I have yet to replace it as they are short on workers already... Electricity is currently a big weak spot of my main island. Trying to rely on clean natural gas is proving perilous and unreliable. I might have to suck it up and run a train with dirty oil through my main city.... I have basically spent a majority of my winter vacation building this city. - No regrets.

Don't beat yourself up. Especially in a work setting where I have limited control (e.g. going out to dinner with customers/colleagues; being on a business trip in the middle of nowhere) I am usually content if I find something vegetarian. I try not to be dogmatic about it. That said I do bring lunch to work every day.

Welcome welcome. For recipes I always end up just googling " vegan simple recipe" I love minimalist baker, because their recipes typically have very short ingredients lists and don't rely heavily on dozens of special one-off items (which I try to avoid anyway) Might I ask why you cannot eat nuts, avocado and kale? They are all super nutritious and thereby very popular.

1. Well if most meals don't taste good to you I suggest you switch out your rotation. 2. A huge bag of quinoa is not that expensive at Costco. 3. Why are you concerned about calorie intake? Are you already very underweight? if not your body will self regulate to a large degree and tell you how much it wants and needs to eat. Works especially well if you are not hocked on sugars and processed foods.

I mean the bolded is kind of the point. All these changes cannot happen in isolation. No one in their right mind is proposing just closing all prisons and police stations one day to the next and then calling it a day without other adjoining sweeping societal and policy changes. All these measures are tightly interwoven and meshed... E.g. if everyone had housing, shelter, food and all round a dignified life guaranteed to them. Petty property crime would become a non-issue...

I have little doubt that this kind of interview is an immensely stressful situation for the victim. Personal rapport and feeling comfortable seem paramount and who are we to judge who Tara Reade feels comfortable talking with. Is MK a problematic choice? No doubt. I had a Gameboy game, where you were a spaceship (?) at bottom of the screen shooting blocks up and completing rectangles from individual blocks to get points, the larger the rectangle the more points. Similar to Lumines somewhat... Not sure if I can remember more about it, but I really liked it at the time...

Hey everybody, what is your take traffic rules, do you follow them all to the letter when out riding? I find car drivers are far more concerned about my obeying the rules than themselves. I cycle home through a residential area with loads of stop signs, and I slow down but stop unless there is something coming from either side... A woman got very upset with me about that yesterday yelling out of her car while I was rolling past her. I am sure she always obeys all traffic laws... Or in the mornings I will stop at red lights but if nothing is coming I then take off... I feel at a disadvantage cycling in LA anyway, so I feel like taking some liberties is only fair. :p

I started reading road to dune. (Yes, yes I know, but all the original dune novels have long waiting lists at the library). this is a prequel right?Hundreds (thousands?) years in the past. Why the hell are all the people called the same? There is a gurney Hallek, yuhe, etc. Not to mentionother names are eerily similar. Harkoneans or something.

So I finished Paul of Dune over the holidays and am almost done with Messiah. I must say I really liked Paul of Dune. I honestly don't know where all the hate comes from. Reading Messiah I can see inconsistencies in characterizations that are kind of jarring, but then again a lot of time has passed and people change.

I'm really not sure I get the hate for Paul of Dune. i am 2/3s through and for the most part enjoying it. Like the war of assasins on Caladan Like Fenring and his ilk on the Theraxi (sp?) homeworld Enjoy the various skirmishes of the Jihad And the assassination attempt had me on the edge of my seat. So why should I hate this?

Honestly I think it is very lame to just a straight re-release. It's not even trying to be at least a little bit new like the Falcon. Even the Falcon was disappointing to be honest. I would much prefer a proper re-imagining with all the new bricks and techniques. And there are still plenty of landmarks LEGO could be producing before recycling.

Once a day is probably not enough. I do twice a day. Also try doing half half whole grain and all purpose. You can tell if your starter is hungry or not. Once it has peaked and starts to deflate it is hungry, you can tell by the fact that the starter is no longer rund and fluffy along the top edge of the jar, but starting to drag down from the sides. (hope that description makes sense). I made a sourdough with garlic and rosemary today....

Thread Is Quiet the worst character design this gen?
It's the worst character design in a game that I played this gen. Her posing on the chopper made me feel really uncomfortable every time we flew into a mission. As soon as I could she was wearing full combat gear to tone it down a little at least...
