Honestly the story is fine, but hardly crucial. It's perfectly possible to just pick and mix missions as you choose without loosing out. There is no game mechanic progression in so far as you learn something new in map 2 that you need in map 3.
Though I cannot remember if all maps are unlocked from the get go or if you have to play them in order... I'd assume the former tbh.

It's that magical time of the year again.
As we bought a house I am somewhat excited to see what happens, expecting a nice return accordingly.
Now the long wait for all those letters from various institutions starts...
Some things to keep in mind this year
Disguises aren't fool proof. Some people will have a dot over them, they can identify you through disguises. E.g. the head cook might know all of the people working in the kitchen, while the weight staff and guards might not.
It's super personal. There literally is no right way. Personally I will explore as much as possible try and remember where I find certain items observe enemy movements. Then I usually just complete the level some-how. The game then gives you an idea of how well you did and what challenges you might have already completed, but also gives you hint's of ideas (e.g. "ohhh an image of a grand piano, I wonder what I can do with that") as to what other challenges might exist.
You will also be unlocking new starting locations and starting disguises which can greatly help with infiltrating a level. And over time you will learn things like. Oh this door is locked, but I am sure I saw a keycard in the office once so you start to put 2 and 2 together. I will usually play one level to exhaustion before moving on to the next. And when I am done with a level I will do one serial killer run for various challenges that I couldn't unlock otherwise... (It plays surprisingly well as a shooter imho).
I'm pretty sure I will replay all the old missions again as-well.
Time to wrap up the World of Assassination trilogy, which re-invented the tried and tested Hitman formula which has been in development for over 2 decades now. ThreadIs Sony Ever Going to Let us Change the Region on our PlayStation Accounts?
The DLC SKU thing has always been a (unnecessary) nightmare.
And if loosing access to prior bought DLC/savegames is the price to pay I'd be willing to pay it if they can fix their shit going forward.
ThreadIs Sony Ever Going to Let us Change the Region on our PlayStation Accounts?
It's well established and widely known that your PSN account is tied to a specific region and it is impossible to change.
This in and of itself wouldn't be so much of an issue if they accepted any global payment method. But the payment method (e.g. credit card or PayPal account) has to also originate from the same region.
So me using a US credit card or my US PayPal account (or even German credit card) as a payment option in the UK PlayStation store just doesn't work. It will not accept it. My dirty foreign money is not good enough for them apparently. (and I would have absolutely no problem with paying currency exchange fees or whatever)
Their official recommendation is to just create a new account, which is fine if we ignore that all my friends, trophies, PS+, cloud saves, and prior purchases are tied to my original account that I would like to keep.
Now I get some of the reasoning in so far as ok, some license might not transfer from one region to the other. I would be able to stomach that assuming most games are available in most regions it really should only affect a small number of my past purchases.
Other digital store fronts manage to make it possible for me to change my region/country and even years later I find it ridiculous that PlayStation does not.
I did have this slight glimmer of hope that with the launch of the PS5 and the recent network changes (wow, we can change our names!) that this might also change. But obviously that hasn't happened and it's just frustrating.
So does anyone think there is any hope for Sony to implement this?
Sony must realize people move and some people might actually move abroad. Shocking I know.
At least accept my foreign money!
Looks like H3 has a platinum trophy. Nice top off for the series.
Also has anyone claimed the OT yet? I'm not seeing it referenced anywhere. If not I might pick it up.

A lot of this 5G nonsense can be traced back to RT of all places.

I have been thinking long and hard about what sort of environmental activism I can do locally.
And walking home from yoga through the burbs it hit me. All those pretty manicured lawns are an environmental disaster, for a multitude of reasons.
I am thinking this is something individual home owners could actually take on and improve on.
I envision it as being primarily an educational exercise, I bet most lawn owners are unaware how environmentally unfriendly their pretty front lawn is. So some well made flyers and an organized door knocking campaign would potentially be a good start. Or in spring one could hand out wild flower seeds to spread in the garden.
To that end is anyone aware of organizations that tackle that, which I could latch on to? No need to re-invent the wheel.

Regardless I saw it on sale for under a fiver last week on PSN and decided to double dip and have been playing it nonstop on PS4 (and now PS5) since.
It's bloody amazing, plays surprisingly well with a controller. Only in very few tricky instances did I wish for the precision and speed of mouse control.
Finished the last mission on hard yesterday and that was a tricky feast of millisecond-precision timing to get through some areas.
Setting up those shadow strikes where multiple enemies are engaged at once by the squad is really satisfying. The game play loop is just as fun and addictive as I remember Commandos to be.

There is a newish all vegan German Cuisine Restaurant in Los Angeles, . We went for the first time yesterday.
It was amazing. The Seitan Schnitzel was fantastic.
There is also an all vegan donut shop (Donut Friend) just down the road at which we overindulged on a variety of donuts...
This seems to be it.
I quickly checked PSNProfiles to see what trophy I could quickly unlock...
I'm now level 480.
PSNProfiles doesn't seem to recognize it yet though.
ThreadNow that both Sony and MS has knocked it out of the park with BC next-gen, what are some games that are going to benefit from the added horsepower?
The thing I am easily most excited for in next gen is the practical absence of load times. If this also extends to current gen titles that is amazing.
ThreadGameInformer claims Cyberpunk 2077 crunch story was blown out of proportion [up: refuted by Jason Schreier: see threadmarks]
Consultants for e.g. the big four sure I can see that. They make big bucks and are basically expected to work whenever they are not sleeping. But for general worker drones in big multinationals; especially when the companies are unionized. No way is that normal.
ThreadFavorite or most memorable online shooter map(s)?
Half Life Crossfire
The Nuke map, where you had to rush for the bunker once someone hit the red button.

ThreadWilbur Ross Will Ignore Court Order, Says Census Will End October 5th
We know their true reasoning, but what is the rational that they are giving publicly as to why they think it is a good idea to rush this process and not count everyone in the country? I cannot for the life of me come up with a "good" reason...
This thread has me so excited to get home again for the weekend. :Doh, that's what you mean. The monster will glow and should be close to where you died.
Thread[Kurzgesagt] Is It Too Late To Stop Climate Change? Well, it's Complicated.
You're not wrong, I had the same though.
Though to be fair at least they have an old video that shows nicely that overall population growth really isn't a problem if we lift countries out of poverty.
ThreadPSA Thread of "Add this game to your account now and keep it forever"
We play a lot of nord. games on our iPad and it’s great. No set up, no score keeping.
A few we regularly play
Carcassone
Lords of water deep
Small world
Castles of burgundy
Indefinitely seems really unlikely.
An additional extension could happen I guess, but we would have to see what happens between now and late autumn I guess.
By the looks of it there will be literally no more public scrutiny or interest in the matter. So it could well be that The Johnson government just does whatever the hell it is they feel like at any given time...
UK PoliEra, I propose we ban the use of "Boris". He is not endearing or our lovable buffoon and supporting that view by using his first name is doing everyone a disservice. I know we have all been guilty of it in the past and the entire press corp is complicit. We should make a concerted and very conscious effort to not give him the satisfaction that his stick is working.
Possible alternatives:
The Johnson Government
The Flacid Johnson
Rt. Hon. Johnson
Johnson McJohnsonface
The PM
Cumming's Plaything
basically anything except his first name.
So it seems like a lot of the UK's political system is also built on gentleman's agreements and convention, rather than hard rules that can be enforced...
Lucky you.
Turns out codifying things is hard work but really worth it.
It's too bad that "Get Brexit Done" might actually work because even the press has totally lost interest in covering the rest of the process in any great detail. I almost expect the rest of the negotiation to go by pretty noiseless... while of course not painless...
Cycled down the coast yesterday with the plan to camp half way, ended up just returning home instead. My wife was not in the mood. Still a nice 40 mile ride down and up the SoCal coast. :)
Thread[Kurzgesagt] Is It Too Late To Stop Climate Change? Well, it's Complicated.
New Kurzgesagt today.
Video goes into four key factors:Overall there is plenty we i.e. human kind as a whole could and should do/change right now. Any reduction in fossil fuel use we can achieve now will give us a little more time to come up with innovations that might help more systemically.
It's not going to be easy and it will be a while before we peak. But what alternative do we have to doing everything we collectively can.
