Yeah, I finished it a week ago, but it wasn't pleasant to go through for some of them, because I don't enjoy playing all characters equally indeed so it gets tedious at some point. Especially if a win with a particular character takes its sweet sweet time to come.

World's Edge has not a lot of POI, a lot of open areas that'll make you feel like a sitting duck when you'll inevitably have to cross them, and very very brutal choke points that you just cannot avoid in a clever way, which reinforces the luck factor of having dropped in a good or bad location related to the ring position in the first place. Also, everybody drops at Fragments.

Ok, sorry to vent about this, but holy fuck can they stop bombarding us (pun intended) with a thousand variations of the exact same "bomb" gun charm having slightly different yet equally uninteresting recolors as rewards in the Comics? I swear to god, I'm so irritated at it all just being bombs just looking all the same, and being too ugly to use anyway. Please don't bother overflowing us with those useless charms, I'd rather not have them at all instead, they're now clogging my charm library ugh. Sorry, it's silly, but damn, the gun charms rewards for the story/comics side of things have always been pretty lowpar, but this season, we're reaching a new low. Oh, there's already one, put it in the OP of this thread:

Received this lovely pin, pretty happy about it. I initially wanted to buy the one on the but somehow the green shade wasn't working for me, I quite didn't like it in the end. And also lowkey want this just for the fun of it, but I'm not really sure I'd wear it anyway. And y'all would judge me for it anyway

To be (kinda pedantically) accurate, Pathfinder is an android, while Revenant is a cyborg. Revenant used to be a human, so that makes him different from Pathfinder that way. Crypto is just a bionically enhanced human being. Not even sure he is tbh, but he's definitely a human for sure. Usually, when someone says "robot", it's just about Pathfinder though. Revenant is a toxic white guy trapped in a cyborg body that can never die, so heh, sucks to be him I guess.

And you often do that well, and know your own limits in order not to lose those fights before we all get there. Most people think they can do that as well. But they truly absolutely cannot at all and end up dead before the entire team gets there. I have a more cautious play-style, I like to analyze things and wait for the good opportunity to strike, I'm definitely not as aggressive as you. I try to keep up with you when I play with you though (granted that I'm not double-timing on Animal Crossing), cause I know that's how you play best, and because I feel I can rely on you in such cases. But that is absolutely not the case of the 95% aggressive randoms I play with in solo pubs. It's also a good synergy for me, in the sense that I can learn a lot about pushing my play-style to be more aggressive if the odds are in my favor, and I think my journey in this game has been mainly about becoming more and more confident and aggressive as time went by. I still have a long way to go though, but it's interesting to see the progress made in that area over two years. Also, my goal has always been Wins over Kills. I know sometimes I just wait strategically for the right time to strike, and I end up stealing a win from a whole team of 3 because of my good timing or my good positioning, and that is pretty satisfactory to me. It's making me feel clever than them, and that's the high I like to get from this game. Like Wattson often says: "You may be stronger, but I'm smarter!". That's my whole shit right there. One may have a better aim than I do, but that doesn't necessarily mean one is gonna win over me.

Thread So what happened to Thatgamecompany?
I know? This is not brand new information here, I know it's been released. It's the fact it was released on Android 10 months after Apple's version while they could have tried to release both at the same time. This is a pattern that keeps repeating for years in the industry of mobile games, and I'm tired of it, so I simply end up ignoring phone games most of the times. Either way, the game requires very recent phones (less than 3 years old) to be able to play, so that's another setback I'm irked at. And I was voicing that disappointment and tiredness as well. I don't think I shouldn't be entitled to, really. I can try to understand the decisions that led to this game dev-wise, but it doesn't mean I'm happy about them, nor that I like them as a customer & player, period.

Thread So what happened to Thatgamecompany?
Yeah, I'm aware of that. Doesn't mean I like it still though. I don't like Apple, I never will, and most of the world at large don't use Apple products. But most American companies forget about that, or simply do not care about that. Maybe spending would be higher on Android if one would focus on it, heck, Chinese mobile game market sure is ample proof of that. But the intent is simply not there, and as a customer, I will then not care and play something else instead. And god knows, as a huge Journey fan, I've been waiting on Sky for years now, but oh well, here's to wait some more. Or I can always go replay Journey instead.

Thread So what happened to Thatgamecompany?
To be fair, their loss for taking such a long long long time to release it on Android in the first place. I'll never get the priority iOS got here over Android, and I heavily dislike it. It sure was what kept me away from the game for so long. And certainly not the fact it's a phone game to begin with. EDIT: So I just checked, and apparently my phone isn't even "recent enough" to be able to install the damn game. Mind you, I have an Honor 8, they're not even 5 year old phones in term of 1st release (July 2016), and I bought mine 3 years ago (November 2017). Lmaooo okay bye, I guess. The financial and technical hoops one has to jump through in order to be able to play the game to begin with, sure are something.

So finished the event, unlocked the Spiritfire skin which is honestly pretty cool. In my two free packs I got: - Hemlock Epic Skin, which is honestly too much and I won't even include it in my favorites. - Crypto Legendary , which is kinda cool cause I like the skin enough, and I didn't have a Legendary for him yet - Bloodhound's Legendary Skin which is heh, it's one of my least fave base legendaries, won't include it in my favorites. Thankfully, I had stocked quite some crafting material, so I managed to also snatch: - Lifeline Epic Skin , love it, red & gold suits her so well! - Bloodhound Legendary Skin , because I just love the owl pattern on their helmet, and it's just too good not to get, even if I don't play them that often. Quite satisfied with it all, this event was indeed very generous in a way I'm not used to see from Respawn/EA, and I feel like it will never get this good ever again, sobs. Yeah I agree, they kinda do for a lot of them, it almost becomes an eyesore. I was on the fence about crafting Wattson's but then decided not to because It was just too much.

Currently grinding the 8 legends win badge. Got 5 wins, with Lifeline, Mirage, Wattson, Loba & Horizon. Will now try to get wins with Wraith, Bloodhound, and a random third (probably Octane cause I ought to try him again with the jump pads changes). As for the rest of the badges, I already unlocked the Mozambique one, and put the Mozambique charm on the Mozambique, like duh! The other 2 will take more time, but I'll get there eventually. I really like that they added those long-term challenges, it's a nice thing to look forward to over a period of several weeks/months.

He offered me a lovely silver ring in the shape of a Ginkgo Biloba leaf. We ate Lebanese food that we ordered. We ate too much. Then we played games and chilled. We don't necessarily do big stuff every year. But I guess this year we wanted to, we needed to. Some years it's much simpler than this, and it's great too.

Thread TV in February 2021 - What are you watching?
Watched 3 French shows lately. Which is super rare, but I guess my country has delivered a bit lately. The first one is called (In Therapy). It is the French adaptation of, an Israeli show about a therapist and his clients, that you follow, week after week. The theme of this adaptation is centered around the 2015 Bataclan mass shooting, and handles it quite skillfully. The show is pretty damn fucking great, it had been a while since I thoroughly enjoyed a French TV Show, and I couldn't help but binge-watch this one in the span of a couple of days. You get to discover, like, dislike, relate to all characters, you get to have an insight into how fellow humans behave and react the way they do, as well as get to discover their most entrenched vulnerabilities, in the most beautiful and sincere ways. In essence, I think the show is just a love letter to human beings, and I enjoyed it that way. The show is freely available to watch on , sadly only French & German subtitles are available at the time. Not sure it'll get to be released with English ones, but I sure hope so! The 2nd French show I watched is one I already enjoyed watching previous seasons of, and it's (Call My Agent!). This 4th season was still delivering on the quality the first 3 seasons had established, but I found myself a tiny bit tired of the drama tropes at play here, lacking subtlety and nuance. Still, it was fun, entertaining, and bonus point for Camille Cottin still being the GOAT. Either way I'll keep on watching whenever S5 will be released, this show is overall fun and good. The 3rd and last French show I watched lately is . Not that I am a huge fan of the Arsène Lupin mythology, but I was curious about this one, I heard raving critics about it, and also, just for Omar Sy, I thought it was worth giving it a shot. I quite enjoyed it, really. It's not an exceptional show, first season is pretty good overall without being stellar, but honestly, Omar Sy delivers and he's thriving in this role, and that's enough for me to enjoy the show overall. Can't wait for season 2!

Everything will be explained and revealed, and you'll be in for a R I D E my friend! It's one of those DLCs that manage to push the entire game on a higher plane of existence. The other 2 DLC are pretty cool too, especially lore-wise. I'd argue that Jaws of Hakkon is also a must if you happen to be a Solasmancer/fan of Solas.

You can easily manage to reach places that are 800/900 meters away if you make sure to do the waves (be a dolphin as they say). 600m shouldn't be hard at all. Just make sure to never go under 130, if you do, just harshly dip towards the floor in order to gain speed back up to 140+, and then quickly look up again... just keep doing that over and over, you'll see you'll be making "waves".

No it's not, it's mostly randomness that dictates it all. And lack of luck is apparent, when you happen to make over 1k damage but no actual kills like that Bloodhound did. Not an amazing mind-blowing win, but one where I found great teammates ready to always come help and answer my pings. Great synergy there, it's so rare when that happens! Been playing since Season 0 (started to play 2 weeks after launch), and no, I don't have the 20 kill badge, nor the 4k damage one, and I don't believe I ever will. Most kills I got in one game were 12, and highest damage was around 2300 if I remember well. My main is Lifeline, and I have 346 wins with her, as well as around 4300 kills. When I started playing I was real crap, Apex was like my first real shooter, so one thing I'm actually very proud of is the gigantic progress I made along the way. I'll never be top tier, I don't ever see that happening, but the difference of skill level between now and back when I started is like night and day. Ahah, yeah I know the feeling, it's a good one tbh. When I detect someone is that much better than me, I usually do my possible to stick by them, stuff them and help them as much as possible. Honestly, yes. Please lock World's Edge in a dungeon and throw away the key, thanks.

I'm that person. Because I have a main, and I care a lot about not being able to play with her as much as I want to. If I ask people to get into that portal, it's because I can then go back to pretending that Wraith doesn't exist as soon as it's over. If it was entirely up to me, I'd probably never play anybody else but Lifeline. But a girl gotta complete them weeklies in order to grind that battlepass, I guess. This is partly why S1 battlepass will forever remain the superior variant. I was never forced to play in a certain way or with certain legends in order to complete it. I just had to dedicate time, that's all.

Understand that this woman can now be herself, can now live authentically, understand that this woman is now incredibly happy and excited to share that with the world, and that it has brightened and bettered her life in numerous and profound ways. This only, should be enough for anybody to topple any kind of feelings of sadness you may feel, they have no place here, and they never will, because the world doesn't revolve around you in this particular instance. If you do feel those feelings, question them, do some introspection to understand why they exist, and more importantly, why you feel they should be more important than all the incredibly positive feelings involved here. (Hint: this is probably because one might have a tendency of being self-centered, and that should be challenged, as that can be changed if one works on it). Be happy for her. Share her joy and bask in the glory of someone finally being aligned with herself, because it is joyful, happy and beautiful. Any coming out story is a story of incredible joy and happiness to me, and hers makes no difference. Much love to her, I'll be looking forward to what's next on her journey!

I do love me some heeled Oxfords too! I even have a pair that is probably like 10 years old, cause I don't wear it lots, and it's gathering dust more than anything. Sadly my feet are pretty fragile, so I can wear heeled shoes if I know I'm just gonna have to sit prettily somewhere without moving much, no biggie. But if I have to walk even a single mile with them? My feet will become blisterland, and we do not like that. It's a bit frustrating, but it is what it is, and that's the reason why I do not gravitate towards high heel shoes to begin with, despite liking the look (and owning some). Give me flat heels, or give me death. Bought them from Jonak Paris, a French shoe brand I quite love. Not quite sure how international their shipping is, but here's the link at anycase: They're on sale, huge sales are happening in France right now, it's usually when I splurge on clothing and shoes for the year :D Yesssss I love those aesthetics! mix it up with a bit of preppy, witchery and artsy and there you go!

Yeah, I think Pixar movies deserve waiting a bit more to be watched. Around 7/8 years old, maybe? Paddington are good movies too, I know my niece and nephew really love it. Ghibli movies, but only certain ones like Totoro which I mentioned earlier, and Ponyo/Kiki maybe? Others might need waiting a bit more, same as Pixar movies. Disney movies, but only certain ones as well. And also, I'd personally talk about them afterwards, cause a lot of them aged pretty badly and display harmful stereotypes tbh (there's no age to start instill some healthy media-criticism habit into a child)! Overall, it also depends on the child as well, what stage they're at in their growth, their personality, and how much you accompany them and talk to them about what they're seeing, and explain things out to defuse potential bad experiences.

I think it might be particularly interesting to do Jaws of Hakkon with Solas, yes, especially considering the story it tells, hitting very close to home if you've played a Lavellan who romanced Solas. I remember I thought so back when I did it way after I finished the game and regretted not having him by my side to do it with. I'm definitely bringing him along on my next playthrough.

You've done well with the customization tools, does she look good ingame as well? I remember spending hours each time I'd create a new character, and feeling proud of it, only to be disappointed as soon as the opening cutscene would play out and I'd realize the animation looks weird on them. I still have beef with the DA:I character customization tool, tbh. Not gonna lie, I'm gonna miss Trevor Morris a lot, if it turns out they're not handling DA4's OST. Usually, in games, I prefer to play humans too. Except if I can play elves, then I'd probably play elves (that's also majorly depending on their design, tbh). And I'll also always play Mage/Wizard/Witch/Sorcerer/the-little-annoying-asshole-who-throws-powerful-fireballs-from-afar-but-also-dies-quick. That been said, as a marginalized person who also does not enjoy discrimination in real life but has suffered and will keep on suffering through it in some way or another, I understand not having the time of day for suffering through that in a video game as well. When a video game allows me to play as a queer woman without making me feel like I'm an alien every three seconds, it is incredibly refreshing. But also, in the case of DA:I, I don't know, it also feels good to just be able to prove people wrong and beat them at their own shitty discriminatory game, and live out my power fantasy of the power imbalance being ever so slightly fixed thanks to my actions and existence.

On my very first playthrough, I spent a long time on the character creator tool, and felt quite proud of it, it felt good enough. That is, until I launched the game and saw her speak. Oh lord, why. On my 2nd playthrough, I paid extra attention to recreating my original Lavellan's face as closely as possible, while also fixing the mouth problems I'd encounter way too often. As one can see, she's not that different from my 1st one, but the fixes I made worked wonders. Also, I made her look more angulous/defined and also stern-looking, and I love her better that way. I also remember enjoying creating my human archer, even though I didn't play her much, as well as my SO's warrior! Overall, once I got the hang of it, I really started to enjoy creating characters. But boy wasn't it easy at times, especially knowing I wasn't using any mods. Might cave in and use mods on my next playthrough though.

I also took the opportunity of those Winter Steam sales in order to buy DAO and DLCs (Awakening included) as well as all DA2 DLCs (already had the base game), because I'm still holding onto the hope that I'll finally play both of them and not actively hate it. I'll probably need to mod the shit out of it to make it a pleasant experience though. But yeah, I can't really wait for BioWare to make a remaster/remake of them both, probably gonna be ages before that happens (and probably not before DA4 gets released), so I'll just have to go through those and hope for the best.

I only had time to play short indie games that last a few hours only. So yes, I cut on gaming a lot during college. At times I didn't even have time to be social/see people or even spend time on properly cooking myself actual recipes, that's how time-consuming my college workload was. Yeah, the breaking stage is still the most painful of it all, I still have other derbies I never properly broke because of how thick the leather is, oof! But once they're broken, they're comfy as fuck, and are indeed so damn practical! Been buying them for over a decade, I just love the boyish look they give to my outfits. And they can really look fun and fancy! I have some pairs hidden away that are difficult to wear because of how loud they can be (and also they're expensive so I don't wear them because that way I don't use them and that makes no sense whatsoever because I end up not wearing them while I absolutely should lol) I usually love to wear them with shorts, skirts and pants (if I find pants that fit my big ass CORRECTLY)! Years ago I was pretty big into that kind of aesthetics: Except I'd wear skirts more than shorts, cause they compliment my silhouette better most of the times (again a big ass problem over here). My taste has slightly changed nowadays, but I still very much enjoy such outfits for sure!

Welcome to a much-needed (yes, I decided so) OT about Fashion in general. I know there already exists an active , and bless its existence. But, quoting the great words of one hell of a sword-wielding badass: "I am no man!", thus I do not feel legitimate to post in it, and feel rather homeless when it comes down to sharing anything related to fashion. I don't think I'm the only one feeling this way, which is the reason why I decided to create this thread, to fulfill that need. I also aim for it to be inclusive and welcoming of all of you, hence why I just didn't create a Women's Fashion OT. Fashion knows no bounds nor genders, and if you feel like sharing what you like, what you wear, and what makes you feel good, then this place is for you Always be kind to each other. We all have very varied taste, so of course we are bound to disagree on some fashion matters we might feel strongly about (and oh boy do I feel strongly about a lot of things), but pay attention to your words when you voice them, we do not want to make anybody feel alienated because of them. Don't post in bad faith or to rile people up either, we do not want trolls nor snarky edgy try-hards, and we won't tolerate them. If you wish to post pictures of yourself, however, please kindly be careful to anonymize yourself as much as possible, just for privacy purposes. I find it allows me to be much more agile, flexible & precise in the movements I make, while if I had to always fully stick my thumb all over the thumb-stick, I'd end up being limited in the movements I can make due to it being pretty awkward mechanically-wise to execute some movements that way with my thumbs.

I don't know how that's surprising? Women can have deep voices at that age, even before that age. Kpop usually doesn't favor deep voices in girl groups in general, so it's rare to see them debut to begin with (which is why it looks like there's so few of them, it's mostly survivor-ship bias at play here), but deep voices aren't that incredibly rare for women, even teenagers.

For P48, it's obvious considering how popular they got, that Kaeun & Chowon got robbed. Just like Red Velvet debuted with a Red & Velvet concept, and it didn't really stick in the long run, in my opinion. They ended up doing whatever worked and charted. First, as per usual around Christmas season for several years now, I bought r: Discovered quite some new teas through it, some that I'll need to get my hands on eventually for sure (Saint-James O.P., I got my eyes on you!). We fully finished it a few days ago, it was delicious from start to finish as usual! My mother had also sent me, full of herbal teas: We almost finished it, we only have herbal tea to go. That been said, we found the range of flavor rather repetitive and we've been pretty fatigued about it for a little while now, hence why it's taking us so long to finish it. Won't buy one again (but to be fair, I didn't buy it in the first place, again, my mother sent it to me and I'm grateful she did, she's a sweetheart). With that being said, for next year, I'll genuinely be interested in getting , I saw several of my friends having it this year and oh boy it looked delicious as hell! Other than that, recently bought those teas! Lovely . Each year for Christmas they release a new limited Christmas tea flavor, and this year was green tea, caramelized fruits and almond, so of course I had to have it. No regrets, it tastes amazing! I also offered for my SO some for Christmas, because we both love this kind of tea a lot and I wanted to get them the fancy version. Cause they're worth it. On the other hand, a few weeks ago, my SO had gifted me , because it's a Rose & Cherry Blossoms flavored Genmaicha, and I'm here for all the flowery stuff (except Jasmine, it can stay dead in a ditch), yessss. For Christmas, my brother gifted me some , it's a very powerful black Yunnan tea with natural hints of chocolate flavor in it. It's amazingly delicious and rich, I really love it! And last but not least, and this one was a bit more of a joke, but I went to Portugal a bit this Summer, and brought back this . And YES, you can taste the Pastel de Nata in it. A bit. Also the packaging is absolutely bomb, I just might never want to drink it just to keep it around as much as possible. Sorry for the lengthy post, but it's not like I'm cluttering anything anyway, this OT barely received any update in a year, and I guess that's my fault for not posting more consistently in it :'D

I understand YGE wanting to avoid any controversy because of the tough spot they have been lately, but truthfully, I don't think Jennie's scenes are anywhere near scandalous to justify such an uproar. Jennie is fully covered, no cleavage, you can only see her legs from knees to toes (which is a fairly regular and modest length for a skirt), sitting with knees tight together on the sofa, she's not taking sexy poses at all, just looking like she's working, the only thing that might be somewhat sexy is the way they styled her hair. Other than that, nothing in her behavior portrays that, people are projecting that onto her, and that's awkward. But that's just me, I guess.

Funky and groovy song, check. Taeyeon effortlessly bringing the vocals and visuals in one breath, check. Trashy men getting their comeuppance, check. I really love this release, it's a very solid one. I don't think it's near her top 3 solo stuff, but it's still in the top tier for sure. Abracadabra, her impact, her influence, her iconic status. What an amazing song. You see the girls really poured a lot of energy into this cover, the way JiU opened the song with all the right expressions, you can tell they all studied the way BEG performed it (but Ga In remains the ultimate charisma and performing queen for this song though, forever). They even tried to do the drop down, although not as smoothly as the original one, but damn, it's a good cover. Definitely makes me want to see them venture into that music genre more, to be honest. I'm sure they'd slay. And again, Abracadabra is still THAT song, 11 years after release, god I love this song so much. I really love it? It's pretty different from everything they released in the couple of past years, and it's pretty fresh, poppy and upbeat, and it's definitely a nice change a pace without being a complete departure from their usual sound either. I'm gonna replay it a lot for sure, I'm glad this is their lead track, it's very much easier to love at first listen than their pre-releases. I need to listen to the album, I'll get to it at some point. It definitely has Icona Pop vibes indeed, and I love that a lot. Yeah, I disagree with my Inquisitor's arc being done, it's honestly far from being done, and the ending of Trespassers showed just as much, as she looks utterly determined to keep on looking for him, and on fighting and stopping him (and yeah she's a mage so she wouldn't care about her arm being gone much). And I'm also worried of her being done dirty if they make her a NPC and I suddenly have zero control over her whatsoever. I feel very attached to her, I guess. Also, the criticism of Solas I've seen was more about the fact they "bimboed" him, and made him look prettier, than the reverse. Interesting. Also yikes at Sera being transphobic, I don't think I had her with me during the ball so I absolutely did not notice it. But I'm not surprised, she does have TERF bangs after all

Bold of you to assume he'll simply kill an Inquisitor he actually loves, though. Sure, he killed before, in very cold-hearted ways, but I fail to see him kill Lavellan so easily, or it'll utterly break him in many pieces, and if that happens, I'd be absolutely here to see that, cause holy fuck that's gonna wreck him for a long time. But yeah, he could have killed her in Trespasser, he didn't, he clearly to. She has power over him simply because of his profound attachment and love for her.

Pretty sure they would have killed the Inquisitor at the end of Trespasser if that was the plan all along, tbh. Also, my Lavellan isn't Inquisitor anymore, she disbanded it, she is pretty much powerless and willing to go dark again. I know some kept the Inquisition alive and well though, so I don't know how it'd fit their world, but in mine, the Inquisition is already dead anyway.

I agree about his arrogance, thinking the Inquisitor can't do shit anymore anyway, that he's too powerful to be touched, harmed and targeted by anything they might do. It's the main theme with him anyway, arrogance, and I suspect DA4 will absolutely exploit the hell out of his arrogance in order to bring him to his knees. I would just have loved to do it with my Inquisitor, as a sort of revenge on him for projecting a certain vision she has of her, and her proving that, once again, he's plainass wrong, and that he should never have underestimated her. And I'm sure I'll love the new protagonist, there's no doubt in my mind that I will. It's just that dealing with everything related to Solas will definitely have less impact if I do that with an entirely new protagonist who doesn't have the history my Inquisitor has with Solas. It won't be the same, really, but hey, that might be the occasion for me to get creative about it if I can't satisfy that desire through the game.

I come bearing gifts. Maybe. HD version of that new mural, and also of some screenshot of that new trailer (got them from the official DA website): I'd like to point out that the castle on the first trailer screenshot and the 2nd one, look like they're the same damn castle. Maybe the first screenshot is from Solas memories, Arlathan times? I don't know, but I feel they don't belong to the same time frame given how drastically different their surroundings look like. I also took the liberty to download that trailer in 4K and take HD screenshots of his stupidass face and rework them a bit on Photoshop to brighten them a bit, in case someone else want this dumbass asshole as a wallpaper for a while. It's so subtle, the animators did an amazing job at this, but you can feel hints of sorrow and sadness in his eyes in this screenshot. He kinda shifts from being determined and strong to tiny glimpses of sadness underneath it all at the very last moment before the cut. They were already astoundingly talented on DA:I, but I just cannot wait to see how BioWare animators will amaze me once more this time around, in all their subtleties and nuances. (but maybe that's just in my head, heh) An observation that I found funny: Next time they see him, Vivienne and Dorian are gonna eat their fucking words, Solas now is THAT fashionista, looking fancy and fabulous, showing them how it's done! And dumbass stuff: That last one reminds me that I really wanted to play my Inquisitor again. It's her quest, it's her story arc, and it's far from being over. I guess I kinda knew that the possibility of a new protagonist was very strong, and likely to happen, but I'm still disappointed at this confirmation we got last night, I genuinely think my Inquisitor is just starting, she has the most at stake here, it's up close and personal for her, and it's quest most and foremost. I wonder how I'll end up vibing with an entirely new character, but that'll need some amazing introduction as well as getting used to, for sure. Maybe we will have the opportunity to play our Inquisitor again, in a dual protagonist kind of way, but I guess I shouldn't hold onto that hope too much, sigh.

He kinda fit my type for men, if I have to be honest. Nerdy, intelligent, passionate, kind, compassionate, sensitive, a good listener. I like the flower boy type, and he kinda fits the bill in a way, not displaying traditional signs of masculinity. In terms of body-type as well, right up my alley, sorry but buffed bearded guys have never done anything for me. Also, this : STILL, honestly I was surprised I fell for him at first, truly. He's not bad-looking, but he's not exactly good-looking either, he's an acquired taste I guess, and when I started to interact with him, I initially thought nothing of him much (heck, I was already romancing Sera then, she was the one having all of my attention at the time), until I found him more and more fascinating and I realized I just enjoyed all of my interactions with him, by then it was too late for me, I was deep in Solavellan hell. The sad puppy eyes got me deep. Some people just grow on you while you never expect them to, and he has THAT power. You and me both! I couldn't stay with Sera and that broke my heart a bit, but I feel like she's one of those romances that feels "earned" in a way, and real? I tried the Josephine romance just after, and it bored me to death. Just like I tried the Cullen romance on my 3rd playthrough just after having my heart broken by Solas (2nd playthrough, after romancing Sera & Jo on my 1st one), and holy hell was I bored out of my skull, could never finish that playthrough, yikes! I'm here for the drama, please stomp on my heart, thanks!

A classic gaslighting Solas move, big oof. But again, when you know his story, where he's coming from, what he has experienced, you can get he says that. And that's the tragedy of this wholeass elvhen grandpa, to be honest. He's so wrapped up in his own guilt, thinking there's only one way to fix his bigass mistake, that he can't stop for a second and assess the reality of the people around him, and finally see clearly how they are all. His love with the Inquisitor is. He almost finally saw it for a few moments, he almost finally gave up on his plans because of that. Until his fucking guilt caught up on him. He's a fucking Greek Tragedy Main Character, with capital letters. I cri.

That, he definitely fucking does. He dehumanizes everyone who isn't... well, like him, so to say without using spoilers. He dehumanizes the Dalish because he just can't recognize himself in them, and thinks that they pale in comparison to what he knows. As for the Qunari, it's pretty interesting to put Solas & Iron Bull in the same party. There's some growth and mutual respect to be found there after they talk to each other for a while. He's not someone who can't change, he definitely can. It's just frustrating because his humongous guilt (and pride) is properly and entirely in the way of him growing up and actually changing for the better.

Holy fuck I had no idea about the misogynoir rapey fic parts, that's fucking horrible. I actually absolutely love her character design, I think she's amazing and beautiful, she has style for days (and when you put her in a party with Dorian & Solas, Vivienne & Dorian spend most of their time dunking on Solas' awful fashion sense and it's truly hilarious), and even if I hate most of her social & political views, I do enjoy the way she roasts my character during my interactions with her. She's an amazing character, I just don't want to deal with her again in DA4, because I know it won't be fruitful at all, and that it'll waste my time. I know what's she's about, I doubt she'll ever change, so I don't think her arc can become interesting again, she's very unidimensional, and I don't see any reason to believe there's more depths to her than what was shown in DA:I.

About Sera: I tend to share 's analysis about her. She's obviously full of trauma, and I understand where she's coming from, and why she is the way she is. I romanced her on my very first playthrough, while playing an elvhen mage, and oh boy that didn't end well. She tried to make me chose between her and my passion for magic/elvhen history, and I found that to be utterly toxic, so I broke up with her right there and then. She's a marvelous character, really, and I love her and respect her lots, and I find her endearing on many accounts, as well as very funny during moments when you need some levity, and I'll always be terribly fond of her, she's great. But she needs to grow out of her black & white mindset, even though it might be difficult for her to ever do so. As for Vivienne, I enjoy that she exists, I respect her as a politician woman, and she has insanely good fashion style, but she can sincerely go rot in hell for all I care. I hope she's not a companion again in DA4. I just kept clashing with her because we disagree on almost everything, and I hate everything she embodies, so no thank you. But yeah, she's a well-written character as well, for sure.

I always put Solas & Cole together, and oh boy, as a Solasmancer, the stuff that Cole says about Solas, about his relationship to you, about his love to you, is fucking heartbreaking. I tend to believe the same as you do indeed. I stick to Celeste + Briala. I know both of them can be horrible people, so they kinda deserve each other, but I still prefer the both of them over Gaspard, without a doubt. Finished this novel by Patrick Weekes, writer from Bioware. I initially bought it because I knew I'd like his writing style, since I loved The Masked Empire. The setting was very interesting, and all the characters pretty lovable. Still, it took me some time to finish it, for some reason I stopped being enthralled in it for a few months, but when I came back to it, it was still vivid in my mind and the characters and plot still fell right back into motion. I loved the very diverse cast, even though I think they lacked nuance and depths a bit, but it was still very interesting and uplifting for sure. I overall had an enjoyable moment, although I'm not sure the novel itself will stay in my memory for long.

I absolutely agree here. The human Inquisitor definitely feels the least interesting to me, by far. The most interesting Inquisitor being a female Lavellan romancing Solas, without a doubt. Which works for me, I wanted to play a female Elf. And I ended up falling for Solas despite aiming for Sera & Josephine first. I just couldn't escape his pull. And gods did it make the whole game even better for it. Brilliant writing all around.

As far as books go, I haven't read a lot, I have to admit. I remember starting with The Masked Empire, that I thoroughly loved it from beginning to end, it was really great, and it motivated me to read the rest of the DA books in order. I then tried to read Stolen Throne and somehow dropped it halfway for some reason, I was just not captivated as much by it as I was by The Masked Empire, so I didn't manage to finish it. It might also be highly related to the fact I haven't played DAO & DA2, so it was easier to me to get into The Masked Empire, while Stolen Throne felt way more foreign to me, characters included. I've heard good things about Asunder, and it features my best boï Cole, so I ought to give it a try at some point. For now, I need to finish Tevinter Nights, which I'm thoroughly enjoying for sure!

The first DA game I played was Dragon Age: Inquisition. After loving it so much (to the point I would take deep dives into the Dragon Age Wikia to soak in all the lore it has to offer), I wanted indeed to try and play Dragon Age Origins. And, well, that, ugh, didn't go well much, sadly. I played it for like 2 hours, but couldn't enjoy the gameplay much (vastly different from DA:I, and much more rudimentary in a way, not my cup of tea at all), and aesthetically it was a bit grating for me to look at. I don't think Origins aged as well as people think it did, truthfully. I never tried to play DA2 as a result of that experience, and also because I've seen many people claim it was the lesser of the 3 games. I still gathered lore about both those games through Wikia, but I didn't experience those games as a player. Maybe I should watch a Let's Play of both and get it over with, but I don't think I'm interested in playing either of them now, they're so different from DA:I, in a way that was hard for me to push through and get over it (like I pushed through when I played the first Uncharted games after the 4 had been released for example, it was a much better experience then). That been said, I'm definitely interested in Bioware releasing a DAO and DA2 remastered versions. I'll probably give both a try again if that ever were to happen.

One user analyzed the way . It gives some more extra insight into his personality and psyche, and quite frankly, the very last one kinda breaks my heart a bit, not gonna lie. I usually only see the first one though, and I always interpreted his cold demeanor exactly like this user did. Some pictures I gathered along the way: And last but not least, Matt Rhodes released some HQ pictures of DA4 concepts seen in the latest video on his ! Yeah, that's just the life of Kpop groups. 2011 was almost 10 years ago, that's a whole Kpop generation right there, so most of them are either disbanded, or whatever the hell SNSD OT5 is supposed to be (aka not producing much music for two years now, that's for sure). The group whose latest release is most recent would be Brown Eyed Girls (they came back in October 2019), which is also explained by the fact the group was formed by the girls themselves, and not tied to a company or whatever. They've always been at the forefront of their own music, promotion and marketing, they always owned that, and as such they can keep on releasing music as BEG despite belonging to different companies. Because they themselves own BEG. They're quite literally one of the very few (if not only but I do not know enough to say for sure) self-made group in the history of Kpop, and that is why they can have such longevity (14 years of activity, and counting). It's alright, although a bit forgettable, not gonna lie. Hopefully this is just a pre-release and the good stuff is coming! But glad to see her back regardless, Kpop will always need a CL.

I've seen hosts allowing just one trip and making people queue again if they have more. I've seen hosts allowing for 2 trips max, and making people queue again if they have more. I've seen hosts allowing as many trips as visitors would need, which, quite frankly, when you get visitors having 5 inventories worth of turnip to sell, can get a bit hectic and frustrating. Either way, I always ask, because I found there isn't a policy being overwhelmingly used as "a norm", it can really depend on the host. Alright then, I'll do my 2 trips at once. Thread New Feature & Update: Tags!
After a rocky start a few days ago, for which we apologize, here is our very first update on Tags that I believe a lot of people are waiting for, and very likely will like! We have tried to listen to the feedback, and prepared this update with it all in mind! We sincerely hope this will help you all to use this new feature in a way that would be best fitted with your browsing style! With that being said, let's dive right in, shall we? Well, you now have three different options to deal with tags (hopefully one of these will be to your liking), and these options can be found in the "Preferences" tab of the "Settings" page. You then need to look for the "Thread Tag Mode" line. Here is what it looks like: This option is now gonna be the default one for all of ResetEra users and unregistered lurkers and will stay that way for now. With this option, the tag is moved under the title on the left, and allows for thread titles to remain visually coherent and pleasing to scroll through. And here is what it looks like: This option is the one we're all already acquainted with, we decided to allow people to use it still. We know it's a controversial option, but we didn't want to scrap it entirely, as some people still liked it enough and were willing to use it. Here is what it looks like (but most of you already know): That's right, you read it right, we decided to let people hide the tags entirely from lists of threads. We ought to precise, though, that it just hides them aesthetically. The tags are still existing, and still gonna be used, it's just the visual icon that is going to be disabled, should you want to do so. Here is what it looks like: All those options are gonna have an effect on threads lists. But whichever option you will chose, I must emphasize on this so it isn't a surprise for any of us to see tags still there on the home page, because it will not be an indication of whether or not your preferences have been saved. Even choosing the "None" option won't disable tags from showing up on the main page. Here is what the main page should look like to everybody, regardless of which option you will have chosen and saved: As you can see, tags still appear on the "Latest Threads" column, as well as on different sub-forum hubs. This is intended to be that way, so don't panic if you still see those tag on the home page of ResetEra despite using the "None" option. We will keep on developing this feature in the future, and we are already hard at work on some ways to further improve tags! Rest assured this iteration is still nowhere near its final form, and that we'll take point in making sure using it will be a smooth and pleasurable experience for all of our users. I want to thank you all for your patience, and for your interest in this feature, and we hope this first update will put us all on the right track already! Have a very nice day :D

Thread ResetEra Tech Thread - 5/24/19 Site Update (Report Bugs Here)
First of all, I want to thank all of you for answering and participating in this discussion. I know I'm answering late, I had a pretty busy and exhausting day (trying to build a new PC from scratch, which failed splendidly but that's another story), but rest assured, I kept track of this thread closely, and read the many replies that were shared in here. I'm glad to see my post was mostly met well, and I'll try to keep engaging with that mindset and approach in the future. I also thoroughly understand that the backlash was a lot about the way we communicated about this feature, and I'm sorry I didn't emphasize more on this aspect in my initial reply, but I definitely took it into account. We made a mistake not putting up an announcement thread, because we lacked proper planning for it, didn't make the time to create one, and that's on us. Hopefully we can try and fix that kind of things. We are going to release an update about the tags very soon, and I was honestly wondering about how best to handle that. Part of me wants to go ahead and create a Tag Feedback Thread already, so that people can freely go on it and share their opinions and suggestions (which in turn would also help clear this thread a bit and maybe refocus it on general tech things), or if it would be OK to wait a tiny bit (I think it's a matter of days, but I can't promise anything either?) for us to create it then when the update is released? Rest assured, the feature getting its first update doesn't mean we won't keep on listening to feedback, in order to slowly but surely make it as best as possible Just testing the waters here, I personally feel we could wait until the update, but I certainly do not want to make people feel like they are silenced either, this isn't my goal at all (and in the meantime, users are definitely welcome to engage here still, I'll keep an eye on posts and will answer to them whenever possible too). Whichever path we go on, I'll create a Tag Feedback Thread whenever it's best, and will use a site-wide notification in order to promote it as stated before! EDIT: When I wrote that paragraph last night, the timeframe of the update was still a bit blurry, but it has now become imminent, so I'm definitely leaning towards the former option. We're currently working on the Tag Announcement/Feedback thread for this imminent update as we speak. I see the idea of a General Feedback Thread came up often in the answers too. After some considerations, I'm now thinking on it more intently. I do understand the need for a place to exist, for many to be able to express themselves in order to raise concerns. As long as those concerns aren't deeply rooted in unnecessary hostility, I'm leaning in favor for a fair line of communication to exist as well. I'm brainstorming ideas about it, and already gathered some from different people. Some rules would need to be established for it to be its own thread without overlapping nor parasitizing other existing tools like Contact Us form, used for ban appeals, mostly. The way I'm envisioning it, I also will handle it solely, at least at the beginning. That way I can set the tone, and hopefully allow for users to feel safe enough to voice their concerns, suggestions and feedback. I'm absolutely up for suggestions about this, and I have my DMs open for anyone willing to share ideas about how best tackle this in a smooth way, I'll carefully read it all and hopefully come up with a solid enough plan for this to happen. I hope so. I have seen people expressing doubts and frustration about the Contact Us form, and yes, we are acutely aware of how slow things can be on that end. I must be precise though, that we do read all of them, for sure. Whether we answer them depends on a lot of things, but oftentimes, those mails being answered later than we'd like just boils down to us being understaffed, and therefore lagging a lot behind a huge queue of mails to deal with. This is something we aim to deal with, by hiring new staff that will help alleviate the overall workload enough for some of us to fully dedicate our time to dealing and answering those mails. I'm incredibly sorry that this is frustrating to many, I fully understand, and this is something we intend to improve in the future as well. Which brings us to a topic that was discussed a lot too, about staff remuneration. I do not know a lot about how much revenue Era does, and that has, quite frankly, never been a huge point of interest of mine in the first place. That been said, the current gist of it all seems to point out that our financial earnings were definitely impacted by Covid-19 in a negative way. That's the extent of my knowledge here. However, it is also clear that Era is nowhere near a big enough website to be able to outsource professional moderation. We very clearly can't afford those, we're not the size of Twitter or Facebook and never will be. Another point here being that whatever money the site makes also would be nowhere near enough to properly remunerate our staff. The salaries would be extremely meager, to the point they don't even justify the heavy administrative hassle of going through the entire process in the first place. Not to mention, and that might surprise some people here, that some in our staff team, even in admin ranks, definitely expressed that they do not wish to be paid at all. Partly because the pay would be so ridiculously insignificant to begin with, and partly because most of us never decided to be part of this team because of money. It's out of passion and love, most and foremost. I know it sounds cheesy, but it is still the truth. Money would be a nice bonus, but it being or not being part of the equation wouldn't impact my will to take on my duties as staff. Another thing making this fairly difficult to establish would be, how to pay people, how to quantify what they bring to the team, and best reward that? As of right now, we simply can't. Our current moderating style allows for people to partake whenever they want and most importantly can. Whenever they're willing to dedicate time for it. We do not wish to clock people's hours, nor to try to strictly and coldly quantify their input. And if they do need a break or two, they simply just take them, without any judgement for it. We're very laid-back, in essence. Some weeks, my contributions are plenty. Others, it's barely non-existent, because I didn't have as much time or because I needed a break. That flexibility is essential to our staff team in order to be able to take care of each other, of our health and our personal lives, and we do not wish to judge people based on their different levels of productivity (or lack-thereof), and we are not going to start now. Overall, I'm always torn about seeing people raise this particular subject up. I know for most it comes from a genuinely good place, because they see the work we do, and think it ought to be rewarded. I appreciate that a lot. But part of me cannot help at times to wonder what other reasons there might be. Would being paid make any of the hardship, exhaustion and mental anguish we can go through more justifiable and acceptable? If so, I'm wondering why, genuinely, because I do not think any amount of money would justify it in the slightest. What we do is not so dissimilar to Customer Service most of the times, and I'd like to believe most people on Era who ever had to interact with someone doing customer service, would do so in a fair and respectful enough manner, and not treat them like less than simply because at the end of the day, they're getting paid for it anyway. Yes, getting some financial compensation probably would be nice. But I sincerely doubt it would help me much with the things I have been feeling repeatedly as part of the Era staff team. It would be nowhere near enough a good incentive in the first place, and many people in the staff team feel the same way here. Upon reading my post draft, wanted to share their input on that particular subject, and agreed for me to include it here, hopefully it will help seeing the many layers of this subject: Lastly, I hope my way of answering to this thread doesn't make people feel unheard. I don't use the quote function because there are so many posts to quote from, at times overlapping each other, that it probably would look like a cluttered mess if I tried to answer each and everyone of you. Rest assured, I read every post, and take notes of which particular topics are being repeatedly raised, often by different users, in order to answer them properly. I do so as well in order not to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of people I have to answer to, but if that is a point of contention, I'll then try to quote more people in the future. Making people feel unheard is definitely not my intention and never will be. Thanks for reading yet another one of my novels, and for taking the time and energy to engage with me. I appreciate that a lot.

Thread ResetEra Tech Thread - 5/24/19 Site Update (Report Bugs Here)
Just catching up with the thread, there might be things that I've missed still, but I'll try my best to provide answers, and engage in the conversation. Please, be assured that I'm genuine and sincere here, and I hope my words will convey just as much. If not, I apologize, and will try to clarify myself if need be. From my personal point of view, as someone who has moderated forums almost as big, if not as big as Era, this reaction to the addition of tags is genuinely surprising. I personally like them enough, I think they're an extremely useful feature, and I remember the times when I first posted on Era a year or two ago, feeling absolutely lost in what felt like a humongous maze-like amount of threads, not neatly organized enough for me to get to where I wanted when I wanted it. I have seen many forums with such feature before, whether implemented from the start, or later afterwards, and I always found this incredibly useful and practical. I have never seen users on those forums being so vividly against this feature, ever. This is a first to me, truthfully. Now, I'm left wondering why is that the case here. I'm reminded of how changes is often met with negative reactions every time it happened on any social media networks I've been on in the past 15 years. At times, I was part of those negative voices, at others, I didn't care or was happy about the changes. But with each changes, the same negative reactions were still there. Do we fundamentally dislike change as human beings? Probably so, I suppose. But then, is this change a benign one that people will grow to get used to eventually, like we all grew to use and (maybe) like the many iterations of Twitter/Facebook/etc, or is it one akin to the major redesign that Snapchat did a few years ago that lowkey killed their platform because people hated it way too much? The thing is, this tag feature, in essence, is really nowhere near a major redesign, not even remotely so, it feels like a very minor change to me, so I'm still left feeling astounded at the intense reactions we initially received about this feature. I'm genuinely trying to understand it, and I hope you can believe it, but I'm still struggling here. But maybe my perception is wrong? Surely my personal experiences are mine, and many users have different and valid experiences and opinions as well, and I don't want to negate that either. And I'm not saying that this feature, as is, is perfect. It can be improved, and I've seen people sharing photoshopped screenshots of what they think might make this feature better. I love those, I think they're nice and open up a lot of possibilities, granted that they are even possible to execute on the technical side. There's always ways to improve and perfect, and we're definitely open to that for sure, as proven by the many number of iterations a feature like Giftbot has been through since release. But this feature is here to stay still, we genuinely think it will help a lot of people and will make Era a much easier forum to navigate into. Hopefully we will reach that point in the future. We're already working on bettering it based on feedback we received. We're really trying, and I'm sorry if it seems it isn't enough. I've seen suggestions about the fact we should have created a thread to announce the feature preemptively, in order to let people know about it and be prepared for it. I think that's a fair one, although maybe a bit difficult to execute technically. See, we don't have a fixed schedule, most of the staff being volunteers means that most of us work on Era when we can, oftentimes juggling between personal/family life, and professional life, and that doesn't even account for timezone differences. The absence of an announcement here was definitely not out malice nor because we wanted to "be sneaky about it", it's mostly because we didn't take the proper time to plan for it, partly because we didn't think we needed one for such a minor change we thought wouldn't be met with such negativity, and partly because we worked on this feature for quite some time and wanted it to go live as soon as possible, excitedly so. Some on staff (I wasn't part of Era back then) also have some reservations about the legitimacy of an announcement thread, vividly reminded of how that didn't help things in the slightest when Era got the 2.0 upgrade back in 2018. Such a thread didn't help to mitigate feelings at all, and apparently 2.0 rollout was still met with intense negativity back then as well anyway. With that being said, I'm in favor of making announcement threads still (accompanied with a site-wide notification), and we'll try to let our users know of upcoming features rollout a few days before they happen, as much as it is possible. It might help, it might not either, but it costs nothing to try for sure. The other thing that was talked about most is about the creation of an official General Feedback Thread, which we have thought of, and even tried in the past. Again, I wasn't active (and much less part of staff) when it happened, but apparently one already existed before, and turned into such a shitshow that the Staff Team back then decided to scrap it entirely as a result, and to prioritize the Contact Us form over it. I do see why, and I understand it, it's a thorny situation. People have abused the existence of such thread in the past, in ways that became untenable for us to handle properly. That kind of thread is usually a very easy way for many bad faith actors to come and create trouble in a way that we felt wasn't healthy overall. Suggesting one seems like a proper idea as a user, and I had that exact same idea when I got contacted to become a mod back in August. But now, after a bit more experience under the belt, I'm left wondering how would such thread work in a way where users feel heard and listened to, where bad-faith actors are weeded out and don't spoil the conversation, and where staff feels safe enough to freely engage without being overtly antagonized. It's a tricky question, and I'm interested in whichever ideas you all might over this. Because right now, and I'm aware this isn't something a lot of people want to hear, but our staff team is wearing thin. Most of us are exhausted, mentally, emotionally, simply because this job, in essence just is. We are often confronted to the worse this forum has to offer, on a daily basis, and it takes a toll on us all sooner or later. I remember someone in a post mentioning the fact that we have to take the higher ground and be willing to take any kind of criticism at all times, and that's generally the mindset I'm coming from indeed. However, that also generally leaves me drained, with poor mental-health, and needing regular breaks from moderating (or from even interacting with the forum as a whole) just to recenter myself and feel good enough again. This is, in big part, the reason of our staff turn-over. People get burned out doing this, and end up leaving because they couldn't handle it anymore. This is how we lost many of our minority mods as well (because the mental and emotional toll on us is very often THAT much bigger than for the rest of the team), who often are extremely difficult, if not impossible, to replace. I myself have already thought about quitting the staff team half a dozen times in less than a year already. The apparently common sentiment that mods are easily recruited, and that they easily agree to become staff, and dedicate their time and energy to this forum, is sadly far from our actual reality, and the reason why it makes any single departure that much harder to handle. This isn't a "woe is me" bit, because I also definitely agreed to do this voluntarily, and because I also know that as an admin, I do have power over other users in this forum, and I do not wish to wield it unfairly and unnecessarily, I feel a huge responsibility over this, knowing the power balance can be shifted when people interact with me, solely because of the existence of the staff title. Quite frankly I often think I'm not worthy of it in the slightest, but I still feel like I ought to try, just because Era is an important place to me, one of the rare ones in which I feel safe enough to be myself. Rest assured, many people on the Staff Team feel similarly as well. Sorry for this tangential bit here, I hope people won't think I'm trying to deflect, I'm genuinely trying to share my perspective, but feel free to ignore it if isn't helping to see the bigger picture. I kinda lost the thread of this answer, and I probably missed a lot of things I wanted to talk about in the first place but I feel I wrote so much already. But I do hope that this opens up a dialogue, hopefully a productive one. I have taken notes about what needs to be done in order to avoid this situation from happening in the future. I can't promise that you all will like all of what we have in store, but I'll try to make sure we communicate better about those future features, hopefully it will better prepare our community for them, and make our users feel heard and accounted for. So far, I think those steps can be implemented easily in the future: - An announcement thread about a new feature being added, a few days before it's been added, with a site-wide notification. Maybe screenshots to showcase the feature if we have proper ones at the ready. - An official feedback thread about the new feature as soon as it's added, with a site-wide notification, in order to let people have a space to voice their opinions on it as well as ways to maybe help make it better. We won't necessarily always change or tweak a feature, but if the feedback is solid enough, we definitely might. We are a community of tens of thousands of users. As such, it's always going to be difficult to satisfy each and every one of us, truthfully, and I hope that it is something people are also aware of and keep in mind. With such a huge number of members, there's no other way to go than trying to compromise and make concessions. However, we should still try to open a line of discussion, and hopefully reach a point where most of us are in a good-enough place with it all. I definitely want to try that.

So I finished watching the entire show and wow, what a treat. I'm still trying to wrap my mind about it all, but yeah, it's definitely one of the very best show of the year for me indeed. The way this show talks about trauma feels so real and relatable, the way consent is being talked about is incredibly rare and refreshing, the way black queerness takes a center stage in a very heartbreaking ways at time (I absolutely cried at the "I need a hug" line, like holy fuck it was perfectly executed). Everything about this show was masterfully done and kept me engaged from start to finish. And it gave me pause, and things to think about for now as well. I now kinda want everybody to watch this in order to talk about it.

I treat the term "Rose Twitter" the same way as the term "SJW". If someone uses it unironically in order to describe people they don't agree with and to make fun of them, it raises some very strong red flags and I'll make sure to subsequently avoid them and ignore them.

Highly relatable. I will agonize about characters' deaths if they were avoidable. If they weren't, then what happens to them isn't my responsibility anymore, so I play along the rules the game has given to me. And yeah, I'm the same, I don't enjoy nor seek the dark side path in games. I entertained the idea of making a dark side playthrough of Life Is Strange when I first finished the game, but I honestly wouldn't have been able to follow through, I would have felt way too fucking bad real fast.

A bit yeah. Some more than others depending on context and backstory. But I hate it when a game tries to guilt me about it while it's absolutely inevitable in its gameplay to do so in the first place. The fake-deep takes some games can try to make is absolutely cringey and makes me wanna punch faces.

It's always hilarious as hell to see my partner, a very socialist progressive SJW person, play Division 2 with 3 other friends, all very socialist progressive persons as well, and having to do missions in which they're obviously killing oppressed people/working for the bad guys. "HOW DO YOU LIKE KILLING ANTIFAS, GUYYYSS?? FEELING GOOD YET? US OF MOTHERFUCKING A AMIRITE?" I often snarkily comment from afar. They hate the political aspect of the game so much, but enjoy the gameplay still, and I get it tbh, but it makes for hilarious moments, really.

A former Ubi game dev who worked on AC 2 to 10: Also this bit about Aya who should have been the lead in Origins: So yeah, we've been robbed of Aya (although I really love Bayek, my fave male character in the franchise), we've been robbed of Evie too (things were supposed to be evenly split between the twins, the final result heavily gives Jacob the storyline while he's hands down one of the most insufferable male character of the franchise). We almost got robbed of Kassandra (they had to create a male counterpart to justify her existence), and 2 months ago we had to dig deep into the physical collector edition website page to even find a picture of female Eivor back when the 1st trailer got released. Same shit repeats itself.

I don't think "Ubisoft bad" is the proper take to get from this either. There are plenty of game devs in the company who try their hardest to make amazing progressive games, and fight tooth and nails for them to exist. There are many trying to do god's work (and the fact Kassandra & Eivor exist and were created as canon characters proves as much). The pressure and the onus should be on the executive part of the company, as well as the editorial/marketing team who often block & hinder that process.

I'm fairly confident in saying that indeed, there must be stuff like this in every company (with varying degrees), as long as the top head of the company is full of white cis het men, and that no women nor minorities are allowed any position of power on the highest levels of the company, this crap is bound to happen again and again. I talked about that a few weeks ago in the French Era thread when all of this Ubi mess was exploding in the French press, that company boasts about having a higher percentage of women than most video game companies, which, at face value, is good. But how many of these women are in true position of power? How many of them are game developpers and creators? And how many of them are just put in entry-level jobs in which they get harassed for months until they have enough of this toxic culture and quit (and sometimes quit the video game industry altogether)? And how many of them get the promotions they deserve over their male peers that most of their male superiors are heavily biased to favor over them? How many of them are allowed to grind the ladders until they all eventually hit the glass ceiling, usually the same one for all of them called "locker room culture"? But this is deeper than just Ubisoft, at this point, this is global.

As an example that this doesn't just happen at Ubi, friendly reminder that the earlier concept of The Last Of Us had all the infected be women (only women were impacted by the fungus), until several female developpers repeatedly had to make the point that a game in which all enemies are women is maybe not the brightest idea, and was actually pretty misogynistic in essence. Thankfully Druckmann listened to their feedback, and eventually scrapped that idea. I'm glad he did. But I imagine there are many people who might not have listened to that feedback at all, or might not even have women in the team in position to even tell them this was a bad idea in the first place. That the idea was even entertained for a while is honestly bad to begin with. That idea should have been scrapped as soon as it first got voiced in the pre-production reunion room. But I wonder how many women were in that room when that happened. You are right, and that is why I used the word "was", since I'm mentioning the trailer that got released back in May, and the subsequent total silence about female Eivor that ensued for 2 months until that Ubi Forward, that happened in the midst of accusations of sexism and sexual misconducts at Ubisoft. I was pleased to finally see her at that Ubi Forward though, but I won't forget the months of silence about female Eivor's existence still, not gonna lie.

Evie, Aya, Kassandra and now female Eivor, the same story repeats itself over and over and over again. With Hascoët gone, I now sincerely HOPE that it's the very last time we see an Assassin's Creed canon female character being shafted by the marketing team because "WOMEN DON'T SELL!!!". Because yes, this is what is happening to female Eivor as we speak. She was nowhere to be seen, and she's the canon character of Valhalla. The fact that some devs had to fight in order to stop this rapey mocap shit is mind-blowing to me. This should have been common sense. Holy hell.

My SO and I are weirdly functional adults who both incredibly HATE doing the dishes. So we take equal turn in doing it, and we wait until the sink is kind of full in order to do the dishes. It kind of happens twice a week (or more if we cooked a lot), we both do it, taking turns in doing it. Granted, we have the luxury of doing so because there's only the two of us. It would be a very different ordeal if we had children, for sure. Ultimately, buying a dishwasher is something we want to do because goddammit, we do fucking hate doing the dishes so badly!

Thread Asian Era Meeting: Announcement & Sign-ups!
Hello Era, We are here to announce that we will be having a meeting between Asian Era and Staff. As you may recall, we've said we wanted to have a meeting with the Asian community here on Era in the same way we met with the Trans community and the Black community. The original plan for that was in May, but various events pushed the timeline back.: You may be wondering what the purpose of this meeting is. The idea is for staff and Asian Era members to get together, discuss and work on improving discussions that have been pushing away our community members in Asia related threads and the forum at large.: Similar to the meeting we had with the Black community, the meeting will take place in an invite only thread. This means moderators will grant posting access within the meeting thread to Asian members who wish to participate. Any and all Asian members who are active participants of the forum are welcome to PM starting now and up until the 24th of July, which is when the meeting will start. Topics include essentially any issues related to anti-Asian racism on Era, including but not limited to anti-Asian dog-whistling in threads, xenophobia and racism tied to COVID-19, general Sinophobia due to discussion around China and the Chinese government, generalizations of Asians and Asian cultures, and dismissive attitudes to concerns from Asian members etc. This list is not exhaustive. However, as usual, we must ask that concerns that are raised during the meeting must be related to general concerns from the Asian community, and not unrelated issues.: 24th of July. It is important to note that this is merely the start date. The meeting will go for as many days as is needed to address all concerns. Staff will take all feedback and review moderation practices to address concerns. Once the meeting is concluded, an announcement thread will be posted to summarize all of the feedback we were given as well as the changes we'll be making.

Oh definitely, but I'd rather deal with Celene still. Although I find it easier to manipulate her through Briala while openly advancing Elvhen rights, it's purely political here. Ideally, I'd rather have Briala, like I said earlier, but realistically, this option has lesser chances for stability, prosperity and actual changes that are here to stay forever. Briala alone would get herself killed in the blink of an eye, and elves would go back to being an even lesser class than they already are.

There I don't agree though. Having Briala pushing for elvhen rights through Gaspard is nowhere near enough to me. I mean, it gets some of the job done, but it also severely undercuts representation for elves. I want Briala to have a status of power, in the public eye, and be accepted as such, and be a model and the visual proof to many elves accross Thedas that yes, someone is pushing forward, someone is succeeding. I don't want her to stay behind the scenes at all, and let Gaspard get all the credits for it, he doesn't deserve it in the slightest, he's a huge POS. With Celene + Briala in power with an equal footing, people will know exactly who is fighting for their rights and why. But we'll probably only truly know the repercussion of that choice in DA4 though. As far as DA:I epilogue goes, I still think Celene + Briala was my better option there.

I do always get a slightly better approval once I complete her character quests though, and she warms up a bit more then. But yeah, ideologically, politically, we are dramatically different and I'll seldom concede her much points in that regard. As for Morrigan... Honestly I don't know, I'm kinda neutral about her. I honestly think it does. Romancing Solas allows you to have a much deeper insight into the kind of person he actually is, a much better understanding of where he comes from, and why he does what he does. He is a truly tragic character, in the sense that there's so much goodness in him, so much empathy, but he's absolutely ridden with insurmountable crushing guilt to the point it clouds everything he feels and does, thus making him become a villain. He's incredibly well-written, in my opinion.

Honestly, your criticism of The Stolen Throne checks out, and might be part of why I somehow stopped reading and never felt compelled to come back to it. I might just drop it and jump to Asunder, only heard good things about it, it also is featuring my best boï Cole. Will definitely give Tevinter Nights a go for sure, just need to buy it first :D Agreed, and make her romanceable too. Flirting with her at the start of a new map was a fun highlight of DA:I tbh.

I... kinda want to play my Inquisitor again to be honest. I feel like she has a special link and an incredible advantage to stop Solas, if there's one person in whole Thedas who knows him best and could help in that matter the most, it's her. He has true deep feelings for her, that much is true, and that can be an important tool in stopping him. I have a beef, I'm on a mission, and I need closure, whichever it is. Either save Solas from himself and save the world from his stupid crushing guilt, teach him to forgive himself and move on, or kill him if there's no other way, but... yeah, in my mind, my Inquisitor is absolutely not done at all, it's just the start.

Lmao, I get that, I'm honestly used to people hating him. It's incredibly interesting to put Solas & Iron Bull in the same party over and over again, because at first they're being pretty confrontational to one another, Solas really disliking anything from the Qun (not without reasons), but he'd still ask questions, initiate conversation, and their banters progress to a point of mutual respect and understanding, and shows that despite being an arrogant opinionated know-it-all at first, he's also very capable of growth, empathy and understanding. But yeah there's a certain condescending paternalizing tone that he has, even while romancing Lavellan, that is irksome as hell to deal with (and is one of the reasons that I want to punch his face). But he's also much much more than that, thankfully. But I don't blame anybody for not wanting or not being able to get past it, that's very personal and legitimate.

Blackwall never looked that appealing to romance to me to be honest. On my first playthrough, I first romanced Josie (because I had turned down Solas' first kiss in the fade, not knowing he was the one I wanted to pursue yet, and not knowing it would lock me out of his romance entirely), but found her very... Disney-esque in a way? I love her as a character, but as a romance option, it just didn't click, so I broke up with her and then romanced Sera, which I enjoyed plenty, she's lovely and incredibly fun (which is a relief at times, in a story that is otherwise pretty somber still), until she basically gave my character (who, again, is an elvhen mage) an ultimatum, in which she forced her to chose between her, and my passion and thirst for elvhen history. I don't remember if I broke up with her or not (maybe not because I just didn't want my character to finish the story alone), but in my mind, she was done for the minute she pulled this shitty toxic move. I love her to the moon and back otherwise, what an incredibly enjoyable character to play and interact with, but her deep dislike for anything elvhen and anything magical, was definitely too much to bear as someone who... literally played an elvhen mage. I tried to romance Cullen on my 3rd playthrough, because I needed a bit of fluff after having my heart thrown into the garbage shredder after romancing Solas. But I honestly found it too vanilla and boring, I don't know, I just don't click with him like that. I was playing a human archer, and I didn't even finish that playthrough cause I was missing being a mage. I always wanted to romance Cassandra too, but I'd either have to install a mod for that, or play a male character, which is asking a lot out of me.

Back when I played DA:I, I was mostly reading the Solas thread on the (late, RIP) Bioware forum in order to understand things better. It was the most active character thread on the forum by large, and the lengths at which people could dive deep into the lore and theorize was, honestly truly, insane, in a good way. Incredibly interesting and enriching too. For the rest, I remember spending nights reading the , but as for specific Youtube channels, I'm kinda clueless, sorry :/ I was initially shocked and surprised at the lack of any official thread about Dragon Age tbh. I wanted to fix that oversight, but kinda pushed it away each time. Never thought this forum would have so many DA fans, maybe I really ought to create it just to have a place to gush over Solas while also daydreaming about punching the hell out of his majestic face. It's insane that 6 years after playing it, the game can STILL elicit so many feelings, so intensely. Truly an underrated masterpiece.

Also, I'd like to point out that playing Jaws of Hakkon as an elvhen mage having romanced Solas, gives it a whole another dimension to it entirely. The parallels between the two main characters of Jaws of Hakkon and Lavellan & Solas are glaringly obvious and all the more heartbreaking and sad. Especially if you play it right after Solas broke up with your Lavellan. The fact Solas has a ton of dialogues during this DLC, and always speaks first as well, is very telling. I want to punch his face hard and also kiss the hell out of it, it's complicated, ok. I've always admired and been thankful for the work of Patrick Weekes, for bringing to life such a well-written nuanced character, eliciting so many different and varied responses from players. I don't disagree. But that very own theory didn't come out of my ass. That plan was literally said by Doc himself on a YouTube video from 2019 where he talks about the huge Ninja leaving Twitch for Mixer mess. I'll need to find the video again though but it's definitely something he outwardly told about in the past.

Thread It would harm accessibility but TLOU 1/2 would get more acclaim for its gameplay if survivor was the only difficulty
It took me 4 years to attempt to play The Last Of Us again after giving up on it after 5 hours the first time around, because of how stressful it was to me, and how overall just downright unpleasant to play this game was in my opinion. Granted, it was the 2nd console game I'd ever played in my life after Journey (I came from PC gaming), and the learning curve was too steep for me to handle, while nowadays, I handled a replay of TLOU much better. But I still remember feeling incredibly frustrated and angry at the fact that I felt I just couldn't play a game I was definitely interested in the first place, because the gameplay was just incredibly unwelcoming and hard (despite being on the easiest mode back then), so hard that even when I was asking my SO to help, someone who had already played TLOU on survivor, they found the game being incredibly frustrating to deal with on the easy mode still. Even during our recent replay, did we find some encounters particularly unpleasant to go through (always trying to figure out if this time the game decided to be a stealth game like it makes you believe it is, or if we had to brute-force it all in a messy way). I'm currently playing TLOU2 on light mode, even though, having thousands of hours in console gaming under my belt by now, I probably could up the challenge to a normal one, but I was unsure what I was going to deal with to begin with, because I was still afraid of what I was getting into. I like TLOU2's gameplay a thousand times better so far, I'm having a much much better experience so far, and I'm absolutely thankful to the team for doing their absolute most to make this game as accessible as it is. I personally don't need a quarter of all their options, but I'm sure there are many people who do, and I'm glad they get to play this game under their own terms, and enjoy the story, the sceneries, the characters and the gameplay in a way that fit them the best.

But I remember the gendered ones, and the slut-shamey ones for sure. I'm also glad she made this apology. It's not my place to accept it on behalf of POC, but for the slut-shaming part, I definitely think she grew a ton since then, and I'm glad she acknowledged it here and owned up to it. It takes courage to make this kind of video, and I welcome it. Whether it's a permanent or temporary one, her taking a step back can also possibly be a good thing. I hope not permanently though, but I understand if people don't wanna see her again, people are entitled to not forgive if they feel she hasn't earned it still. And it's not my place to do it for them. She posted this on the 31st of May, pretty early into the protests: And also acknowledged the existence of white privilege back in 2017:

I try to use Clue but then I forget about it like the dumb dumb I am. My periods have always been very regular though, so I never found it crucial to follow my cycles that much. Which in turns bite me in the ass, because while I have no pain, no discomfort while being on my period, and that besides the feeling of not being clean, it's pretty much a non event I can totally ignore, the day or two BEFORE my period starts, are usually the ones in which my mood can take a toll. Like, finding myself crying over the dumbest thing, or feeling suicidal out of nowhere, thinking my depression is making a comeback, until I inevitably realize a day later that it was just fucking PMS. And I fall into that trap EACH time, you'd think I'd learn and know it's PMS by now, but I fucking don't cause I'm dumb and don't have to care about my periods much to begin with because they're painless. I'm using a cup from the brand of Me Luna, I have been using it for several months now and I'm absolutely happy about it. It's also fascinating to reconnect with your period blood and see it raw in the cup. I don't know, I feel more connected to my body and my period when I can see what it's producing, instead of it being absorbed and smudged by tampons or whatever. I also have a washable reusable cloth menstrual pad, but I haven't been using it much. Just the cup alone has been enough. I'm glad I finally switched to a cub a few months ago, because quite frankly, I would have been extremely anxious over not getting the pads that I used to buy before. At least with the cup, I know I can last months/years without having to worry over it.

Some nights, you'll only have a handful of shooting stars to wish on and that's it. Some nights, you'll have a fairly decent amount, with minutes of nothingness between bursts of shooting stars, and you'll have to be patient, and it'll last for 30 minutes or be spread out to several hours. And sometimes you'll have the full show and it'll just never stop. It's mainly a question of keeping an eye out and an ear out for those sound and visual effect, and also your villagers will tell you if you're having a full meteor shower. You can still wish on a very decent amount of stars during regular events though, my first time I reached the 200 wishes made in the span of 2 hours wishing on stars, and there were a lot of pauses between them.

Whenever someone has some shooting stars, they also open up for people to come. Also a wishing sessions can last 30 min if you want a good amount of star fragments in the morning (around 1/2 large and 15/20 tiny/aries ones can be found on average in the morning after a good wishing session, also star fragments keep washing ashore throughout the day, so one needs to check on the beaches regularly throughout the day too). Also Celeste spaws anywhere on your island, even on the cliffs with no slopes. And tiny shooting stars session can happen in bursts with long minutes of pause in between, so you have to be patient and keep looking at that sky, and try to notice that distinctive shining tingling sound that signifies the presence of a shooting star in the sky.

Whenever one of us spots a Celeste on an island, we invite people over in order to all get a new recipe from her. And also, while shooting stars often happen while Celeste is here, it's not an automatic thing either. You can have a Celeste with no shooting stars to wish on, and you can have shooting stars without a Celeste on your island.

You need to have respect for Celeste!!! Ok, since you apparently don't know what Celeste shtick is, lemme explain it to you. Every day, Celeste gives you a new recipe (and only one recipe per day, no matter how many island and Celeste you visit in one day, she knows when you already got one). Those recipes usually need star fragments to be built, you get star fragments by wishing on shooting stars whenever you see some in your sky at night. There are a ton of different recipes than you can craft. For example, I currently have 9 Celeste recipes, 1 for the wand (useful to store outfits), 2 for starry wallpapers (one glow in the dark, the other has a slight 3D effect), 1 for astrology-themed object (Aries one currently), and 5 for NASA-related stuff (yeah, I can craft a Lunar Rover or a Lunar Lander. Not that I want to, but I can, because Celeste thinks I'm into this kind of shit while I just want a starry garland or a Moon Chair lmao thanks Celeste I guess). Anyway, you could have fun gathering all those NASA related recipes and craft your own Space museum of some sort. But Celeste's recipes are absolutely the best, even though they're random. Also the first time you meet with a Celeste, she will ALWAYS give you the wand recipe. The fun starts AFTER she gave you that one. Here's a list with all of her recipes thus far:

But at least, Celeste still gets to be in the game in some way, while I'm out here wondering when my fave Reese will ever come back, or if she ever will, sobs. Currently trying to get my hands on all the Sakura recipes, currently have 10 of them: - Cherry-Blossom Pond Stone - Cherry-Blossom Petal Pile - Cherry-Blossom Branches - Outdoor Picnic Set - Cherry-Blossom Clock - Cherry-Blossom-Trees Wallpaper (animated) - Cherry-Blossom Flooring - Sakura-Wood Wallpaper - Sakura-Wood Flooring - Cherry-Blossom Pochette Which means I'm only missing 4 recipes: Blossom-Viewing Lantern, Cherry-Blossom Wand, Cherry Blossom Bonsai & Cherry Blossom Umbrella. I really really want the Bonsai, Wand & Umbrella, so I can't wait to put my hands on those recipes too. If anybody's wondering how to get those recipes: they drop in regular balloons. Red ones have a higher chance of containing them too, but I got them from all colors of balloons regardless. It's kinda difficult to get them cause those balloons can drop a ton of other things instead (like objects, craft material and bells), but I farm them as much as I can and totally ignore egg-balloons (especially knowing I already have all the egg-related recipes that it is possible to get thus far, save for the Egg Arch one that I think Zippy will give you at some point). More fences, maybe? Pretty sure fences matter a lot in order to raise your island's rating.

Ironically enough, I have been working on a "Harvest Garden" that would contain all the flowers currently in the game (8 species) in all three base colors (Red, White & Yellow/Orange), so that I could harvest them should I need them to craft anything, or that visitors could freely harvest at will while visiting my island. Yesterday, it fully bloomed, and it felt great to walk in it! I'm currently not picking flowers up in it yet cause I wanna see if new spawns would show up despite fencing everything off and blocking the entrance with weed, that also deter flowers from reproducing. I don't want them to reproduce at all, I just want them to bloom lol. Also, in love with my Strawberry outfit, Pietro likes it too, I'm delighted, thanks again Seri <3

That's also fucking true lol, basically walk around patch of flowers, don't go in them, don't run in them, don't pick flowers up. But people destroying petals of flowers inadvertently because they were running and didn't pay enough attention at least didn't mean to do wrong at the time. And they'll bloom again the next day, so that's only 1 day wasted. It's annoying, but it's often not intentional, so I'm more keen on forgiving people as long as they learn from it. But when people pick flowers up, there's an intent to do it that is there, and it's even more vile knowing my dodo code was accompanied by a "" message that possibly couldn't have been missed in the first place. So yeah, that pissed me off a lot.

I'm not gonna name names, because it happened on the Discord and not here but, a friendly reminder: I spend hours every day on my flowers, I try my best to produce hybrids, which takes time, sweat and work, dealing with a very fickle RNG and still figuring things out, so when you come into my island, picking up flowers from my hybrids that I'm desperately trying to make reproduce for the past days to no avail, I ain't gonna be happy about it at all, because that's gonna be 3 more days until I can try to make them reproduce again, waiting for them to bloom again. Don't be that person, if you do, you are quite literally wasting my time. Don't be an asshole. Don't pick flowers up. If you're picking them up thinking you'll be able to replant them on your island: that's NOT how this shit works. You won't. You can only use them on very rare recipes I'm pretty sure you don't fucking own already anyway. So DON'T pick my flowers up, thank you. PS: I like having my island open to people I'm not friends with because I ain't gonna befriend the entirety of the people on that Discord (or on here), but still wanna help out y'all. When you harvest my flowers, you exploit my kindness and make it difficult for me to want to be open to strangers, while AC is all about kindness and openness. Don't be that person. Part of me hopes the game will help her learn to read as well, I'm sure it will even just by osmosis. But yeah, this is such a perfect game to share with her. She loves the game. She'll probably get cute Animal Crossing plushies next Christmas ahah! Well, is the expert here, but from what I gathered, it depends in the specie of flower and what kind of variants they can produce. But yeah, the goal is to put the red in center (cause RedxRed=blue), and put white and yellow on each side of the red ones (but not touching each other, cause Yellow x White will always produce another yellow or white, so not interesting at all. Some species can produce purple by doing White x White so sometimes you'll need to put them together a bit. But yeah, always leave 4 empty spaces around the flowers, fill the 4 other spaces with other flowers, so that variants always have a space to grow no matter where!

Honestly, respectfully, the false equivalence jumped out here. What even is that line of thinking? What even is that garbage comparison? I'm out here saying that the problem of online misogyny will NEVER be fixed without the problem of offline misogyny, and you're out here trying to compare offline misogyny to "not all men" and "all lives matter" shit, do you even hear yourself right now? Do you? I'm not here trying to diminish the importance of online misogyny, I'm a woman, and I have been on the internet for over 20 years now, since I was a little girl, I very much suffered from that misogyny full-throttle, I don't need you to explain that to me. I've also endured offline misogyny throughout my entire fucking life, so I know what this looks like too, and I'm just here saying that trying to solve one problem won't account to anything of value, if we don't tackle the problem of misogyny as a whole. When societies as a whole hate our existence, when laws are against us, when justice is biased towards men, when all possible institutions have been created to help men and sabotage anything women would try to do or say, when our lives are constantly at the mercy of men, when even in death we are treated like less than, and have our murderers excused and forgiven, this is why shit gets this horrendous online. This isn't a coincidence at all. Hate against women was already existed way before the internet was even a thing. Polytechnique sexist massacre is a thing that happened way before the internet was a thing. Domestic abuse and murders were a thing that happened way before internet was a thing. Rape-apologism and the justice system and laws siding against women at all times were already a thing that happened way before the internet was a thing. Women being stalked, harassed, raped and killed by entitled hateful men were already a thing way before the internet even existed. Any single ideology that online meninists are spreading online, they were already a thing way before the internet existed, and chances are, at times, they were even the mainstream ones. Study of women's rights history will tell you as much. Reading feminists essays will say as much. This isn't brand new information here. So seeing it happening on the internet? Same old shit to me, same old expression of the same old patriarchy doing whatever it's been always been doing for centuries. I won't deny that Internet hasn't allowed, in some areas, for those ideologies to take an even stronger foothold than they would have had things been more regulated, but those ideologies are already existing in the real world and have a huge foothold in the real world and are the main sources of all that crap. A streamer saying it's ok to not work with women is a blip on my radar when I'm already surrounded by real world industries discriminating against women and not wanting to work with them either, in more insidious and more subtle ways. When politicians partake in insane boys club behavior on the daily. When people in positions of power are all men and keep on hiring men to feed on the bro-monoculture. That streamer is actively participating in a sexist mindset that exists already in tangible real ways in real life, only in real life it's a thousand more violent and insidious. So yeah, the internet misogyny is a problem that must be tackled hands in hands with real life misogyny, or else, like I said, it would be putting a bandage on a wooden leg.

We do have many obstacles, that much is true, I think it's good to identify & analyze them, so that we can fight in a more pertinent and effective way. Change is happening but change is also very slow. I don't even expect for women to reach true gender equality during my lifetime. Part of me thinks it might actually never completely happen anyway. Thread World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee says "internet is not working for women and girls"
That's a fair point that I'll counter with the following one: To fix the internet misogynistic culture you have to do (at least) two of the following: 1/ Establish new laws that are more strict and make sure that the perpetrators are being hold accountable. Laws that would regulate the Internet better, and make sexist behaviors, harassment, doxxing and stalking punishable by law. To which I counter: Justice is biased against women already, laws are biased in favor of men already, women as a whole already have troubles making their voices heard. We already have troubles having any kind of justice against rapists, abusers and sexual predators (Like it took 90 fucking women to have Weinstein finally fucking imprisoned, let that sink in for a minute or two). The justice system is biased against us, the police is biased against us, the whole of society is biased against us, and we already struggle to make existing laws being applied, and to have offline offenders being prosecuted. So I'm not gonna be very hopeful about these laws being made in the first place in a profession that is overwhelmingly male, and then I'm not gonna be very hopeful about these laws being then applied, and to see perpetrators being prosecuted, when offline rapists and stalkers barely have a slap on their wrists, when domestic abusers can kill their wives and be mostly legally unbothered of the consequences of their acts. I'm not saying those laws shouldn't be created though, they absolutely should. I'm just saying it's delusional to believe it will solve crap, because it sure hasn't solved much for offline violence against women. In my country, one woman dies almost every single day at the hand of her partner/husband. And our government is just doing jack shit about it. 2/ Have major tech companies and industries related to the Internet finally protect women by ramping up moderation, making places like Twitter and Facebook more serious about flagging and punishing sexist rhetoric, behaviors and violence. To which I counter: Most of those companies, and the tech industry as a whole is a hugeass bro mono-culture that is led by men, with men, for men, and in which women have very little say nor power. Which is a direct cause of misogyny in the real world, a direct consequence of actual misogyny for the past centuries. You won't get to make those tech companies suddenly evolve and do the right thing, if you have no women be allowed positions of power in those, be allowed a voice, be heard and trusted. Or even to have the opportunity to be hired in the first place, which we aren't most of the time because it would disrupt the companies' historical culture of being sexist pigs in a locker room. The tech industry being in the state that it is right now, is a direct consequence of boys club behavior at its finest. I wished those tech companies would take the appropriate steps to act on a very much needed moderation, but in order for that to happen, we first need to push for women to be hired in tech companies, and then promoted in them (which is difficult when men are almost always promoted over them). The steps that are needed to fix the internet at large, stems from real world actions, and real world actions are tied to real world misogyny. This is what I mean when I say the both are deeply intertwined, and that it's not gonna achieve much to fight internet misogyny without fighting real world misogyny. The take-away is to fight for BOTH, which I do, and I don't see how me saying what I'm saying is an incitement in any way shape or form for inaction. If anything, it's a desperate rallying cry for more action to be done on all accounts, because we need it twice as much.

Because violence has many faces, and anything that was a hindrance to our freedom and our rights, was (and still is) a violence in and of itself. We wouldn't be better without the internet at all and I don't understand anyone who would believe as such. Not when the Internet also brought many feminists and activists to the mainstream light, not when #MeToo happened, not when the Internet was the main catalyst for a shit ton of women to better understand the patriarchal oppressive society they're living under, to find validation and comfort in each other's shared experiences, to find appropriate endless sources of knowledge to analyze it to the fullest, and to find collective ways to fight against it. I do not believe for one single moment that the world would be better without the Internet. If that's the argument that was being made, this is my response to it. Without the internet, most of us would keep on being deeply alienated by patriarchy, without being able to name it or knowing that it even exists.

Thread World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee says "internet is not working for women and girls"
It's real-life that, being a very clear misogynist place in the first place, that helps fester the mindset that leads these people to think so little of women to begin with. If people were educated and not allowed to be sexist pigs in real life, they wouldn't be such on the internet as a result because the mindset to think it's ok to think of women as inferior and harm them wouldn't exist in the first place. Again, the internet is just a mirror of the real world, and sure, we can surely strive for harsher moderation and more strict internet rules (hopefully ones that won't go against rights for privacy and anonymity too which are crucial pillars of a free Internet), but this will never solve this in full. The real world already hates women and do not trust them whenever they are reporting a rape/sexual assault. The laws and justice system are already not in our favor. Real life has been fostering most of online behaviors for the longest of times, it's just a natural evolution of it all to me, and it feeds to one another. This shit is all subparts of a the bigger battle.

Pretty much, yes. The Internet being unwelcoming to women & girls is being that way precisely because the real world has been unwelcoming to women & girls for the longest of times to begin with. One is just an expected reflection of the other. And fighting for women & girls to be welcomed on the internet also is deeply linked to fighting sexism in real life. The internet has never lived in isolation from the real world, it was the biggest lie ever yet lots of people believed it.

Bernie's policies are the ones that the US absolutely desperately need right now, and it's baffling me to no end to see what I'd qualify a very moderate center-left politician being labelled "too leftist" by US citizens. This is a direct result of decades and decades of American anti-communist & anti-socialist propaganda that succeeded very well in the end. In my country, Bernie would barely make any waves considering how boringly consensual most of his policies are. This is honestly appalling to follow the US elections, and to realize how everything is just so goddamn utterly broken everywhere, and people fighting inanely so that things keep on staying broken. This is one of those times where I wish I could offer the entire US population a 6-months free stay in a European country in order to see the disparities and the cruelty of the system they're living under, to see how truly completely broken it is. A system that, thanks partly to the US' hegemony, is also spreading to the rest of the world like a disease, and that my own fellow citizens have to take the streets in order to fight against (y'all, BlackRock isn't a French company, yet here they are trying to privatize our pension system which never needed to be fixed since it never was broken in the first place, and no, this isn't coincidental, this is partly a consequence of the US' unhinged liberal capitalism).

Knowing the urgency of the matter in question, I doubt Biden would manage to make much progress in that regard, considering it's the liberal capitalist system as a whole that needs to be entirely reformed and rebuilt from the ground up. He won't make things worse for sure, but I'm fairly sure I'll barely make a dent to the status quo already existing, the very one that is killing us all slowly but surely. That been said, if that's the only choice against Trump (or any conservatives for that matter), then we'll have to take it. Also, it's not just a matter of foreign policy. It's also a matter of role model, of influence over the rest of the world. When Trump got elected, it emboldened a lot of alt-right fascists to rise up worldwide, seeing in him enough approval that their time was finally coming and that it was ok to crawl out of their fascist caves. This is what you get for being the most powerful nation in the world, at some point you have to realize the burden and responsibilities that go along with it, and just start to act accordingly and become deserving of the title. Right now, the US very much isn't.

Yes, we to get involved in this particular foreign election, because somehow it have stark repercussions not just for the US citizens, but for the world as a whole. Everything about this scene is perfect. The slow-mo on her, the beat disappearing for a while, the song going soft, her wearing a formal jacket and pants that make her look so incredibly cool and classy, and then the beat comes back again and the instrumentals just blow my mind with that wicked bass line. It's one of those moments in a song you wanna loop over and over again because everything is just clicking, just like Mark Lee's perfect rap verse in Jopping.

Most of the times when people manage to pull that, the three different bodies weren't firing at the same, nor pushing at the same time. That's usually what happens when I manage to pull that off. It also what happens when I'm on the receiving end of that crap. It almost happened to me today when I constantly told the Bloodhound to push with me and flank ONE Lifeline (I had killed her other two teammates), but of course that Bloodhound preferred looting and healing (he wasn't that low life to begin with he could have handled it especially knowing the Lifeline was shooting me anyway) instead of following suit with me. I got downed, he got downed, thankfully my friend came from all the way over the sniping mountain to save us though. But yeah, that's usually why that happens on my part: unreliable teammates.

Got a session of Déjà Loot with a friend today, and we managed to snatch like 4 or 5 wins in the span of a 2 hours. We had a very precise route and we tried to stick with it each time, and with the final ring, my friend being Wattson, and my care package being tactically used to block an entry point, we managed to win each time we reached that point in the game. Full Game showing the entire route: And one video showing the end of another game with the same route: Pretty fun to see how it worked out a lot of times. However, this LTE is getting boring fast though, I'm soon done with my challenges so I probably won't be touching it. Or maybe with Kings Canyon? Idk. I'll see.

(2019): It was beautiful, the acting was good, and the subject was right up my alley. Yet the movie didn't feel cohesive enough, lacking rhythm, and a bit too smooth for my taste. I still had a pretty good time, but expected more out of this movie which turned out a bit forgettable, in a regrettable way. It still made me curious about Vita & Virginia's lives and life partners, pleasantly surprised at the concept of open marriage being so widely accepted at the time. Also need to read more of Woolf's book now, especially Orlando, I suppose. (2018): This one was on my to watch list for a long time, so I thought I'd give this a go. I needed a feel-good feminist movie, so this was my fix. It did the work well, but also didn't wow me much, sadly. It was also too smooth and expected in the way this story was told and directed, even though I enjoyed both main actors very much. Still, pretty nice to get more acquainted with RBG's life work, which made me even more curious about her, and the reason I actually watched the movie that follows. (2018): After watching On The Basis of Sex, I naturally turned to this documentary to know more about this truly feminist icon that is Notorious RBG. What a woman, and what a life, what a legacy! And also what a marvelous husband, the kind that makes you believe men aren't all crap after all. Since the Iron Crown event, they definitely locked all 24 event cosmetics behind a paywall forever (giving us scraps and inferior skins through the event challenge system), and I don't feel like giving them money while this system is into place. Yeah, we try! But it's not really active much, but I keep an eye on it and I know a handful of other people do as well. Honestly, this is why I often make at least top 4 in ranked if I'm all alone, because I don't shoot anything that moves, because my mobility is superior since I don't have my guns out, and I slide and jump a lot, and I'm aware of all the tinest advantages the map can offer. So often I've seen my teammates engage a team cause they thought it was gonna be fun to poke at them, only for us to become encircled by several teams alerted by the sound of their guns. So many times I've had to plea "please don't engage now no matter how tempting it is, or we'll just be open targets to everybody around and we don't know if our positioning is good enough to handle that". I'd rather wait silently until I hear a gunfight, and be the ones third-partying this. And if a fight takes too long for one team or the other to die, then disengage, retreat and reposition elsewhere, cause people ARE gonna third-party this for sure.

You only know someone's not a shabby player after having played one game with them, not at the start of it, regardless of banner or any cosmetics. Then I don't know what to think of the fact I've been solo queueing for like 90% of my ranked games. In the span of a few hours, I managed to climb from Platinum 3 to Platinum 1, I'm currently something like less than 150 points away from Diamond, at long last! I should get there on my next gaming session, if I'm not too unlucky. I had a lot of decent teammates today, but also my fair share of shabby ones. One game we had that Crypto who was doing nothing but droning looking for team-fights in order to get some assists from those. He was unreliable as hell, and preferred to keep droning when the Caustic and myself actually needed him in the fight. We ended up dying, Crypto kept on droning, retrieved our banners, and proceeded to get in the ring, and kept on droning for assists from random fights in the distance. Honestly this is the worst, now every time I have a Crypto in my group, I'll assume he'll be an unreliable solo prick who's only thirsty for assists with his drone, and will adjust my gameplay accordingly, until proven otherwise. Trust no Crypto in ranked, fam. Another time, I had a Wraith & a Caustic who, I shit you not, were soloing in separate opposite ways, I was desperately trying to tag along with one or the other, hoping they'll finally agree on going to a similar place at some point. Wraith almost did when I joined her, until she went to the opposite direction from me and the Caustic we were trying to catch up on, again, and both ended up dying in the most ridiculous miserable way (and I scolded the hell out of the both of them for how shitty of a teammate they were), because they were playing solo, and I ended up camping and giving them the 2nd place and the 24 points they truly didn't deserve one bit (yeah, they didn't quit the game at all even when they were dead for a long time, interestingly). Honestly baffled that those people reached Platinum, they truly both didn't care one bit about playing this game as a team, it was astounding to me how uncooperative both of them were from the very start. Last but not least, I don't know why I keep being teamed up with Platinum 4 people, while I'm Platinum 1? What the hell is going on, why can't I get teammates my own level? It kinda disappoints me how overwhelmingly often this happened, I don't know why this game can't team me with Platinum 1 & 2 people, or, at the very least, Platinum 3? But no, I get Platinum 4 teammates all the time. It's weird, and it's a bit unpleasant, not gonna lie. Anyway, here's a video of my latest ranked game, which was pretty fun, managed to do 7 kills and 4 assists, heh! Yes, I sound very tense, I was tense, I was coming out of too many bad games with dumb-dumbs, so my patience was very short. Sometimes it be like that.

It's sad, it was my favorite weapon pre-season 1 and during S1. Look where it is now, wew. Still not as trash as the Sentinel though! About the 50 headshots with LMG challenge: It's back, and it's still a pain in the ass, but since the L-Star is super OP this season, I enjoy picking it up and having a go at it. So far I have done over 34/50 headshots, so eventually I'll get there. If I'm lucky, a Devotion helps as well! About ranked: I absolutely despise how much of a gamble it is to play with a full team or not, or if we'll be a duo or worse, a solo. I'm not talking about people quitting here, I'm talking about the matchmaking failing me on a regular basis, and making me start a ranked game with the odds fully stacked against me from the very beginning. I don't mind this bug so much while playing casual, but on ranked, this is just so unfair, especially since most of the time, the loss forgiveness doesn't even apply, I still lose points anyway. About Kings Canyon: I really loved this trip down memory lane, back to the OG KC, damn that felt nice. I really really enjoyed it fully, I hope KC will be back. I honestly think I prefer OG KC to the S2 KC, even. I managed to climb out of Platinum 4 and into Platinum 3, boy that is a sweaty climb for sure. Talking about Crypto, I think he's much better since the buff indeed, his drone can be hella annoying for sure. For example, this game I just played earlier, in which one Crypto kept on following my every moves with his drone while I was running for my life for 10 whole minutes. I ended up losing, but damn that was fun to keep on escaping people over and over, and survive this long while being alone.

Last time I put on a full face of makeup, I stayed home the entire day, and exclusively did it because I was on my period, feeling bloated, gross & uncomfortable, my digestive system acting up, my skin breaking up, so I did it to cope with it all and boost myself. I rarely put full face of makeup, I usually just stick to the eyebrow brush/eyeliner/mascara combo and be done with it, and half the time, I don't even put makeup at all cause I like my face natural (and ironically, when I started to put on makeup when I was around 23, that's when I finally started to also enjoy my bare face and see how pretty some of my features can be, it helped with self-esteem overall, regardless of me wearing makeup or not). I feel like I mostly have a healthy relationship to it, and treat it as a fun thing to do when I want to, but that I'm in no way obligated to perform if I don't feel like it. I'm equally at ease going out with a full face of makeup, than barefaced. But society do tend to prefer me with makeup, especially if I have to be professional in a way that makes me interact with people. I know makeup doesn't exist in a vacuum, but truly, there are plenty of times I just wear it for myself, although those beauty standards are indeed influencing me, I'm not immune to those, nobody is. For sure, I love it way more than movies about mafias and boring white male-centric navel-gazing American mythology based on merely 300 years of existence which causes a lot of repetition in Hollywood movie production. But that's another debate (yes, I'm still petty about , sue me). ANYHOW! It was a damn breath of fresh air to watch a movie in which Americans are absolutely non-existent, and not taking part at all in the "saving the world" bit. You have Russians, French, and so on, it's a worldwide effort and it's made clear, although Chinese are in the main driving seat, and it's quite interesting to discover that perspective for once. The acting was lacking a bit though, and while they tried hard to make the science part make sense beyond that, you have to suspend a lot of disbelief in order to agree to the initial pitch of planet Earth finding enough fuel to exit its gravitational field. That been said, it's still an overall enjoyable movie, and I really liked the aesthetics and artistic direction. It felt like it had an original visual identity, and that was pleasing to discover. Other than that, the movie is a fairly regular blockbuster movie, lacking flavor at times. But boy was it still a breath of fresh air when I watched it, and I'm thankful to it for that! (2019): I heard nice things about this one, and I quite like Awkwafina, so I was in. I was surprised at her range, she really embodied this role, and showed a new side of her, so fragile and vulnerable, that I had no idea was there yet. This movie touched me a lot, it's rare to have the point of view and insights of Asian American, and hear their stories. This movie is a story about immigration, about being torn between two cultures, about belonging to a family when you're all scattered around the globe, and about growing up, too. It made me cry a bunch, it made me smile too. It was balm to my soul. It also was a great opportunity to see Chinese neighborhoods that you rarely see, filmed through such an intimate and loving lens, with pretty photography. It was a unique experience with a unique perspective, and I'm glad I watched this, it stayed with me after I was done watching it too, and I kept reading up articles about it. (2020): A good fluffy romantic comedy is what one needs at times. I enjoyed the 1st one enough (I gave it a 6/10 at the time), so I thought, why not give this one a try too, right? After all, I'm also in it because Lana Condor is very endearing in that role. So this sequel does the job too. It's a bit dumb and contrived, let's not lie about it, but it still nails the fluff part well enough, and sticks its landing. And that's all I was asking for here. (2019): I had some expectations about this one, and it delivered. I just love me some Taika Waititi, and this man keeps on being great, he just can't help it. I loved the humor, so funny, but in a clever way. The satire works well here, because Nazis and their aesthetics aren't glorified at all. They're ridiculed, and are deserving of it. The movie also nails the moments of drama, even though one of them was pretty obvious it was coming. But it does it in a simple and real way, there's no unnecessary pathos here, it wouldn't fit. It goes straight to the point: war is a coldass motherfucker. This movie nails the perfect balance between joy and sadness, and does it in a meaningful way. All the characters are so vibrant and remarkable, and the acting is pretty good. It was very pleasant to see Johansson in this role, her comic side is definitely underrated. I enjoyed this movie throughout, and I got out of it with a little bit of hope too. And that's nice. Ok now I'm ready to make my 2019 MOTY list, yasss!

Yeah but they looked so damn fluffy before though? And unique? I loved the scarf idea too, truly a shirt doesn't fit Pietro's new design much, he looked so much better with the scarf. I really really want the palette and the two blotted lips, I'm still considering if I wanna add the blushes on top of it, maybe the coral one, I don't know I'll see once it gets restocked. But yeah, most and foremost, I want that palette and those two blotted lips. It's just right up my alley, truly. I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan, and I defo could see myself using this palette, hence why I want it so much! Also the reviews have made me even more interested into it. Thread So serious question, how attractive is Adam Driver?
I do think that letting his hair grow, and styling it in a way that covers his ears are partly why he glowed up from his Girls era. Whenever you see him with short hair, his ears stick out a bit, and that throws his facial proportions a bit which makes him look somewhat like a child in a way? But once you put his black mane over his ears, preferably in a wavy kinda carefree way, his face truly shines. More often than not, people can have a glow-up just by styling what they have in a different way in order to cast a light on their strongest assets while being forgiving on the parts that aren't as strong. It's about knowing ourselves, working with what we have and making the best of it, despite not being perfect.

(2019): The movie had me good for an hour and a half, and then it lost me a bit, and then It was just me trying to catch up to it but not feeling involved and barely interested? Like, I appreciated the cinematography, the directing, the photography, the acting, and there are bits here and there that I enjoyed, but there's something that didn't click much here. I don't regret having watched it, but god was it way too long for what it was trying to tell still, jeez. To be fair, mafia movies have never been a genre I had a remote interest in to begin with, so maybe that's partly why I'm overall "yeah ok" about it all. I definitely enjoyed The Wolf of Wall Street way more than this, so that was disappointing to me. (2019): I think I enjoyed this movie enough but then not thoroughly. For starters, I didn't like any characters here, and it was hard to relate to the main character, despite Sandler's great acting (even though his way of speaking really got onto my nerves at times). The tension was mostly nicely done, and the final 15 minutes of the movie with the game, and the aftermath of the game, were definitely a highlight. Still, this movie bored me a bit in the middle. I had no particular feelings about the outcome of the movie, since I mostly didn't care about the characters, so, y'know, same-same to me. It was an interesting watch nonetheless, and I can see why people might have really liked it, but it wasn't mind-blowingly awesome either, and I'll probably have forgotten about it in a few days. (2019): I was going in hoping for a good time. I was served a mild time with some enjoyable highlights, and average bits all intertwined. I'm usually a good sport for a Tarantino movie, but it's now his second movie in a row that leaves me with an aftertaste of "almost there but not quite". Pitt & DiCaprio are definitely bringing their A game, and both have some good scenes here and there, but the overall movie just wasn't holding together to me. That ending wasn't cathartic to me either, it just felt gratuitous and senseless, since we all know that never happened. I guess Tarantino just loves to rewrite history and place his characters as the saviors of those bad historical moments, but that trick only works so much until it gets tiresome, cliché and quite frankly, a bit too childish for my taste. Robbie was a sight for sore eyes though. I don't know what's with me and movies lately, but goddamn, watching those 3 critically-acclaimed movies back to back, and seeing each of them failing me and my expectations one after the other was definitely a huge bummer this week. I expected amazing cinema, I got served average/OK stuff with some interesting bits here and there, but mostly average still. My heart really wasn't in it. I'm probably going to see Jojo Rabbit Thursday night, I truly hope I'll finally get my heart back.

(2019): What a movie, damn! On a directing point of view, I was floored from beginning to end. Those long sequence shots were amazing, I was just floored at how technically difficult it made this movie, and how everything must have been carefully and precisely done, so intricate! I was hooked from beginning to the end, and loved the way it narrated this very simple story, yet done it very intimately and efficiently. Some scenes were so incredibly beautiful, eery and surreal even, and everything blended well together so smoothly. I loved the parallels between the beginning scene and the closing scene, very touching. Honestly, one of my favorite movies from 2019, it broke my top 3 (after Portrait of a Lady on Fire & Parasite!). I really liked it a lot, despite being yet again another movie about a World War, and I was quite frankly going in a bit exhausted at that fact, cause this particular story isn't all that unique at all, and that particular point of view (white and male), isn't original at all either. I honestly believe there are tons of amazing untold stories from war times from marginalized people, but people aren't willing to make movies about them. However, this particular movie exceeds so well it made me forget of its shortcomings when it comes down to all of that, and I ended up thoroughly enjoying it either way. However, as an addendum, I am also growing extremely very tired of American & British mainstream cinema industry making movies about World War 1 & 2, and doing so while overwhelmingly presenting American/British soldiers as heroes/main point of views. And they do so while, 95% of the time, completely omitting to include French soldiers in those stories (let alone allow them to be main characters, ahahah), thus erasing them entirely from history, while my country has one of the biggest military death tolls in both wars. We are completely erased from our own stories, about two wars that majorly happened on our own goddamn fucking soil, and it honestly pisses me off thinking about it. No wonder the average ignorant American/International citizen thinks the French military and citizens "did nothing during both wars", and keep stereotyping us as "surrendering cowards", if our voices, experiences and existences are constantly omitted from movies about war happening in France. Hollywood (and also video game industry, hah) surely is rewriting fucking history here, whether they want it or not. Pretty sure my grandfather would turn around in his grave at the sight of French huge involvement in both wars being grossly erased like that. But I guess that's another debate altogether.

Finished watching all 10 episodes today, and what a ride, what a joy to watch those stories, what a precious wholesome TV show in a sea of violence and grittiness. What a breath of fresh air to let the marginalized have such a positive voice. What a show full of hope amidst all the hardships and struggles. I found each story interesting to follow, some being more riveting than others. I particularly loved The Jaguar, The Managed, The Cowboy & The Son. But they all are extremely great windows to the varied lives of so many different human beings all united by the desire to have a better life. I enjoyed spending time on google after most episodes, in order to get to know those lives a bit more, all fascinating and so interesting, all putting a smile on my face. We need those kind of shows more than ever, and I'm grateful to Kumail Nanjiani for helping making this a reality. I actually particularly LOVE that they're real life stories that end in an mostly uplifting ways. You don't see those often on screen, at least not when it comes to POC, usually movies and TV Shows telling their lives can dive deep in misery pornish stereotypes. Switch the narratives up, allow for positive uplifting representations of the marginalized, or the forgotten and hidden. I love that, it's a powerful stance they're making, and I love them for it.

I feel like people loving episode 5 are mostly in it because of the nostalgia aspect of it all. I mean, it was a nice episode, but the subtext wasn't all that engaging and interesting to me. Episode 4 was much more spot on and accurate in terms of social criticism of the video game dev industry. Episode 5 lowkey reminded me of Halt and Catch Fire though, except that Halt and Catch Fire is an exceptional TV show leaps and bounds better than it. And you should all watch it. I would often turn around to my SO who's a game dev to get their insights on the accuracy of the show, and they nailed a lot of it tbh. One skill I have in this game that came pretty easy to me is the one of positioning, being aware of my surroundings, anticipating paths and choosing one that I feel will be less traveled and dangerous, seeing covers on my way to somewhere, and using them. Basically, when I play I'm extremely aware of my surroundings at all times, and I have managed to escape dire situations many many times thanks to that. Jumping and sliding allows you to go faster, running without weapons out allows you to go faster, so when I do both, along with strategic positioning, it pays off, and I survive. I became a much better shooter nowadays than at start, but my aim? It's still average to good, I'll never be god-tier no matter how hard I try, so I had to develop other skills to survive in the game, and I feel I developed them quite well? I often end up being the only one surviving member of my team in ranked, because while I know when to engage, I also know when to retreat. One afternoon I played with my SO and a friend, we joked about it because they kept saying Lifeline is a good character but has no escape, and yet I made them notice how I was the one always being faster & ahead of everybody, surviving, while they had troubles keeping up, or were dead and spectating me. Heck, I can even drive enemy teams mad if they try to chase me all across the map. Anyway, yeah, movement, map awareness, paths planning are all excellent skills to have. I check the map at least every time a new ring pops, and chose where to go and how to get there. If I'm lucky, I have cooperative teammates who are easily collaborating and reactive, and would follow me. If I'm extra lucky, we on the same brainwave lengths and we have the same reactions at the same time, and we'll follow each other. If I'm not lucky at all, I just have dead weights that more often than not end up making me die if I try to care too much about them. And it's hard, because I always try to retrieve people's banners if I can. Sometimes I succeed. Sometimes I obviously can't and have to dip. Sometimes I try to and die anyway. It is also important to know when to engage fights or disengage. Is the ring coming? You're gonna die to it like a dumb dumb trying to kill and loot someone. Are you late and finally arriving to the edge of it? You might get sandwiched if you stay, you've got to keep moving, be ahead of it. Not let yourself be cornered by the ring nor by a potential enemy team waiting for latecomers in order to finish them. I feel like people in this game are way too thirsty for kills all the time, and they have absolutely very little idea when or when not to go fight or dip the fuck away, when it is worth it, and when it's not. 90% of my deaths in solo ranked, are because I was trying to help a teammate (or two) who engaged people they shouldn't have engaged at all in the position they had, should they have had a modicum of common sense. And it gets exhausting at times. EDIT: Having great headphones with spatialized sound is a must-have in this game, btw. It saved my ass way too many times.

(last one is apparently fake, but still we love to see it, big mood) Glad that your wife likes it, I don't, because women aren't a monolith, and one woman finding a sexist joke funny, doesn't diminish the sexist undertones of that joke still, nor does it absolve it of legitimate reproach about it. Cheers to your wife though.

That's a lot to unpack my dear, but first let's just give you a star for mansplaining to a woman what a sexist joke should or shouldn't look like, congratz: Second the Karen jokes are made in a proper context and do not apply to the whole of white women as a demographic. I have absolutely no beef against those jokes, because they deserve a proper context, are about women in a somewhat position of power (aka white women, benefiting from white supremacy in many ways, class included). They're not made in a vaccum to portray 51% of the population in a certain way, they deserve a time and place to be made and are more often than not justified and warranted. However, implying, that (aka, again 51% of the goddamn fucking population) are such strange, alien, insecure, emotional and hysterical creatures prone to create couple fights out of clearly hypothetical situations far removed from reality such as the one implied on that tweet, because "LOL WOMEN BE CRAY AHAH THAT'S FUNNY INNIT?" is just insulting, demeaning, and incredibly othering. This is what a sexist joke looks like, and I'll give it to you, it isn't an obvious one, but it is one still. I sure do hope that my more than 30 years of experience living as a woman can somehow trample your astounding amount of zero years of experience living as a woman, but somehow it feels like it won't even make a dent. But please, do keep telling me what is and isn't okay on a subject that doesn't affect you personally in the slightest, I'm all ears.

I wasn't implying that MoP was mansplaining Killrog despite answering to his post though, because we all know I'm the one who started that particular conversation, and that it's point of view MoP was trying to throw in the trash. In a subtle way, MoP was answering to me, and I'm clever enough to read between the lines here, hence my reply. Also, both of those users have picked "male" on their profile pages, so I'll answer accordingly to the information I have at hand here, and assume they both are male until proven otherwise. The reverse happened to me in high school, while waiting fo the bus I used to lean on the back of the bus stop (made out of clear glass), and one day I fell like a plank on my back because the glass was gone and I hadn't notice it. Thanks to my backpack I didn't hurt myself though, but apparently the way I fell was impressive and funny.

Always a ride when I play Apex Legends on PC, my left hand gets super tense and it exhausts me much, very quick. Had another session with my SO and a friend tonight, and it was frustrating how we kept ending 2nd place without snatching that final place. Until our very last game where we did pretty damn great and finally got that win after winning team fights after team fights. It's far from being my best compared to PS4, but for someone who plays Apex on PC every 3 months, it's not too shabby.

Definitely yes. Also, as a good Lifeline, I will relentlessly keep on looking for and using Ultimate Accelerants and call for care packages until the whole team is wearing purple from head to toe. But I get deebs on purple stuff, should I not have them yet. I don't see how that's too much to ask.

That happened to me several times. In ranked. Once I was in ranked with a friend, and the game didn't give us a third teammate at all, so we thought it was safe for us to commit suicide at the start of the game, we'd have the forgiveness thingie kicking in for not being a complete team of 3 from the start like we should have. We didn't. We lost points anyway. That's scummy.

You open your inventory and you click on them to activate them. It takes 7 seconds to load and it gives a consequent boost to the charging of your ultimate. For Lifeline, it gives 25% per Ultimate Accelerant. In some games I can find so many of them I am able to call 2 care packages in the span of 1 minute.

Ok, I have to interject here, because: I am 100% that Lifeline. Unless you spent your time to ping Ultimate Accelerants in order for me to call a care package much sooner, unless you brought them to me and covered me while I was using them, I will side-eye the fuck out of anyone jumping like a loot goblin on the body shield level 3 that my care package will deliver. And EVEN if you helped me with Ultimate Accelerants, be a polite and decent teammate, ping and ask for it first, chances are I'd give it gladly to anyone I feel deserve it more, and I have done so many times in the past. But don't fucking loot it as soon as the care package drops, especially if we don't know each other. I swear to god this is just the fucking worst behavior ever as a Lifeline main because this is just goddamn disrespectful as fuck and it happens ALL THE TIME. The number of time I had random scumbags just stealing it right in front of me while they had done shit during the game to help me (none of them pinging ultimate accelerants not even once and I had to check buildings they've already looted in to find them) or the whole team, is astounding. To those people, this game is "a team game" only when the care package drops, thinking it's a free for all, but resume being solo pricks as soon as there's no Lifeline care package involved. Most of the times they go back to ignoring your existence and pings, and go die in the most idiotic ways and freely give that body shield to an enemy team. Brilliant. And yes, I don't joke with that, I just (gently) scolded my SO earlier today about it while playing with them. Don't be a fucking loot goblin, especially with the body shield since we all need it. If you ain't done shit to help me, I don't see why you deserve it more than me.

It ain't quite usual, I personally disagree with everything you said. Everglow was following BP's lane from the very start, and BBC was absolutly BP-esque from the get go. I personally could have liked it, save for that over-abuse of autotune. Dun Dun is their very best comeback yet as far as I'm concerned. Adios was kinda there, but not quite. I love how fierce and charismatic they all are on Dun Dun and I certainly don't feel they're too "try-hard", just like BP isn't too try-hard at all either. They have the stage presence, the charisma, the performing talent to bring their fiercest game and elevate the song with their attitude, and they do it very well. I don't need my girls to show a softer sensual side for me to love them, I don't know where this is coming from, truly. Why should they have to be sensual anyway? Why can't they just be badass in-you-face fierce? Why anyone who tries to be badass in-you-face fierce without the sensual part appealing to men is then labelled "try-hard" in a dismissive way? I like the fierce concepts à la BP & Dun Dun, even though it truly feels I'm the only one. Also, Loona can't be fierce to save their lives and it makes So What MV awkward and cringey to watch. Many of them think that having charisma and attitude equals staring blankly at the camera like a dead person, and that's just partly why this comeback of theirs is not it for me. They don't have what it takes to embody it to the fullest, save for Kim Lip, Yves & Jinsoul (and maybe Heejin and Olivia, even though they're not quite there yet, but definitely much better than the rest of them). They're much more skilled at the softer sensual stuff like Butterfly, this is their lane.

Honestly the teammates I'm having in solo ranked queue are appalling. Like they're supposed to be Diamond level since we play in the same Gold 2 tier after demotion, and god they're for the most part incredibly awful. They'll drop hot, rush everything and anything, not communicate at all, have absolutely zero tactics other than "see an enemy, shoot immediately" and it's absolutely exhausting. I've had a ton of games where both my teammates died in the very beginning without any possibility for me to retrieve their bannners without a suicide mission, so they just ended up watching 10 minutes of me playing solo cause they still want them points and I'm giving it to them by surviving and being tactical. It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic. And it's ruining my fun too because I'd rather play as a team of three communicative and alive people instead, we'd have much better chances to win this. But no I'm forced to go stealth all the time.

Makes me remember of another Mirage who ran into the opposing team pretending to be a decoy and they didn't even try to hit him once, and then fired them from the back while his teammates where sandwiching them. This is why I always shoot a decoy no matter what! As for his ultimate, I feel it's trickier to pull it off. I mean, with players with bad headphones, sure, but I'm too used to track Mirage by the sound of his footsteps anyway, they can't really escape players with good headphones. That's me, I feel seen! Thread Freedom of speech debate heats up in France after death threats to 16-year-old girl who called Islam "religion of hate"
These numbers are skewed though, aren't they? They seem shocking when you read them at face value, but when you dig deeper, it's pretty much ridiculous how they say nothing at all. How many "Attacks against Christians" are actually "an old and barely used church being forced open and having some its objects stolen while nobody was in it" or "local teens have nothing to do and were passing time in a cemetery in the dumbest ways"? How many are "people downright attacking Christians in the streets, insulting them, making them feel less than, discriminating them in public, blocking them access to jobs and a home"? Hum? I'd like to know. Because the latter is very much what's happening to Muslim people in this country, overwhelmingly. Also, statistically, knowing there's a church in every little insignificant town of France (my parents live in a town of 150 people max lost in the middle of nowhere, and even they have their designated church), how those "attacks against a church" (interesting semantics, as if a church is a person somewhat? Most of those aren't even remotely close of deserving the use of the word "attack" anyway) are much, much more likely to happen, compared to attacks on mosques which are way fewer in numbers on French soil? Keep things scaled, if you're gonna compare numbers, let's make it "n° of attacks divided by the n° of places of cult", and then we'll maybe have numbers worth talking about. It always baffles me to see my fellow French having such a blind-spot when it comes down to Islamophobia in our country. When it comes down to the systemic oppression they're facing in our society, and trying to equate it to Christians who face absolutely NO systemic oppression in the slightest, since the ones in power are mostly Christian, Christian-leaning or from Christian descent. It's ridiculous, truly, because this is Le Pen level of garbage, and we should know better than that already. This is why I don't enjoy nor support Charlie Hebdo's way of doing things, never have, and never will. They still struggle to make the difference between punching up, and punching down, and they respond in the exact same way regardless of who or what they're making fun of, regardless of context, regardless of systemic structures of power. This isn't clever in the slightest, this is dangerous and irresponsible. It is feeding into harmful stereotypes that are impacting an already marginalized and fragile minority. This isn't helping anybody but the status quo in place (and the status quo is very much white and from Christian descent -even if not Christian anymore), this isn't humane nor kind. This is just vile.

That's a lot of words to say that Crypto is a legend that you need someone super skilled at to play, and god know 95% of the player-base are just averagely skilled, myself included. Which means that on average, Crypto will suck, and that's just a fact (no matter what anecdotal "I saw a good Crypto once in a blue moon" evidence people will bring), I don't know why we're even arguing over it here, this is ridiculous. I'll never be happy to see one on my team, even less so if I'm playing ranked, what a waste of a good spot for an actually useful legend! Also, bold of you to assume that the 5% of player who could play Crypto good because they're pro players, do not do so because they're too clueless to pick up a different legend than the ones they're used to? Well, that's a take. How about: they know the game better than the both of us combined, are pro at this, and know that Crypto sucks and will never use him at a Master/Apex Predator level. Because that's the tea. Pretty sure, should a legend truly have abilities pro-players find interesting enough to use, they will do so, overwhelmingly. That's what happened to Wattson when she replaced Lifeline in the meta back in S2. They're not daft. But you're free to your opinion, I guess. And I say that as someone who wanted to love Crypto, and actually love the character itself. Just his set of abilities, they're overall inconsequential and pale in comparison to what almost all other legends have to offer.

There's even a story line in Work In Progress, where the main character dates a trans men, and somewhat manages to discover what their deadname was. Each time the deadname is written or pronounced (not that it happens often), the show censored it. The audience doesn't get to know what the deadname was at all, and I love that they went there and did that. The show has Lilly Wachowski as part of the writers and producers, and I'm glad they're tackling this well thus far.
