Thread Anyone planning on getting the iPhone Xr?
I could, and that's all that matters when the question is whether I would buy it. But even then. People that say they can't tell either need to get (better) glasses, or they're just not looking or lying. At over 6" you should definitely be able to see the difference.

Thread Anyone planning on getting the iPhone Xr?
Getting a sub-1080p screen in this day and age just doesn't seem appealing to me at all. I'm really not sure why they opted for that, especially since the price isn't exactly budget range at all. I don't mind missing out on 3D Touch, and the rest of the specs are just fine, but the resolution at 6 inches is a deal breaker afaic.

Samsung's phones are bigger, they have more bezel, thus more room around the screen in general for other things. It's a valid choice to make, but not that odd. The Notch haters find this hard to believe, but some people prefer to not have full bezels and like the aesthetic of minimalist bottom bezel (or even better, no bottom bezel like iPhone does) and a notch. As for removing the headphone jack, it does have a small positive effect on battery life, as the headphone is not just the port, but a small DAC as well, which does take more power than Bluetooth does. So it's not entirely untrue that it positively affects battery life even if the extra space isn't used for a bigger battery.

And you are thinking to big. Centralized metadata is not a requirement for AI to work. The examples illustrated here can all be done with local data, all it needs is your name and your input command. You fridge AI does not need to know anything, it can do localized machine learning and provide the exact same services. Your elevator AI doesn't need your metadata, it just needs to know what floor you work or live on one time to take you there every time. There is no reason for anyone to personally interact with Google Services to utilize AI services in the future. And people that actively choose to not use AI for tasks they can do themselves will -at worst- have a bit less free time than people that do. Grandma will be fine, is all I am saying.

Thread Android |OT| I called the death of 3.5mm
Nothing a bit of software can't fix. What I mean, latency doesn't matter in practical use for most use cases. Nobody will really care if their music starts a couple ms too late (which is also why it won't matter for the average dongle user, either). The only times most people in general use will notice it is if there's a mismatch between audio and video, right? And as long as the Pixel is configured to match the playback with the latency, all should be good regardless of latency value. Most cases can be resolved on the software level if needed. For instance, my WH-1000XM3's have perfect sync on things like YouTube and Netflix on my OnePlus 6 with the latest Pie Beta (and on iOS, too, for the record), despite whatever latency still exists with the BT4.2 on the headphones (it didn't on the Development Beta, which resulted in a video/audio mismatch, but betas gonna beta). Granted, that's an expensive headset, so mileage will vary on low-end sets, but well worth the investment imo.

Thread Why were the 1990s so edgy?
I think a lot of the late 80s and early 90s had been dominated by PSA's, "don't do drugs", "stranger danger" and other such messages. Especially when all the media we consumed like shows like Saved By The Bell had special episodes to teach us not to pop pills in the most hamfisted ways... I think a lot of youth felt very patronized and the cultural shift to a more rebellious "fuck you, we'll do what we want and nobody is going to tell us we can't swear and be tough" is a result of that.

My 2008 Skoda Octavia II Combi 1.6 FSI. Not anything special as far as anyone is concerned, but I love that car to death. I bought it new in 2008 to replace my Volkswagen Golf III Variant. VW was becoming too expensive and this car is in every way a VW Golf, just less expensive, alot bigger as far as boot size goes and more luxurious as far as accessoires goes, so the choice was easily made after getting prices on this and a Golf V Variant. 9 years in I commute to work by foot so I barely drive anymore, I think I might just keep driving this for at least another 5 to 10 years waiting for the next big breakthrough in non-fossil fuel engines.

I got the WH-1000XM3's yesterday, and boy are they a significant improvement over the MDR-1000Xs. The build quality is so much better, no longer do my headphones creak at every turn of the head. They are also way more comfortable, I wore them for like 10 hours straight (on a plane) and only at the end was I getting a little fatigue (not even anything major, just a tiny bit of discomfort that is probably due to my right ear being a bit too outward facing :D). The sound quality is amazing, the noise cancelling (which was already excellent) is just ever so slightly better. They are miles ahead in just overall sound than the Bose QC35II's I was using. The Bose's AAC just sounds utterly shit compared to the sound the LDAC and the built-in upscaling the Sony's produces. As far as BT ANC headphones in this price range go, there's just no competition anymore. Sony fixed pretty much every issue I had with 1000Xs in this third version. Great set.

Hm, I'd be interest in some reviews to see if they are actually more comfortable now. I love my MDR-1000Xs, but I can't bear to wear them more than a couple of hours at most until my right ear especially gets irritated to the point of it being too uncomfortable to bear. Got some QC35s just because they're more comfortable. But the sound quality and overall convenience of the buttons and the quick attention mode are far ahead of Bose's AAC set. They're fine, don't get me wrong, but if these are comfortable like the Bose's (and hopefully don't creak as much when you're moving), they could be my next set.

I had two Android Wear watches, the LG G Watch R and a Huawei Watch. They were pretty cool, but not perfect. I switched back to iOS since and have had an Apple Watch now for about 18 months. It is great. Battery life is over two days, great for notifications, music control, using Siri (mostly to control my Hue lights, reminders and stopwatch) and tracking my daily activity (meeting that 850 active calory a day goal is addictive). Definitely all I expected smart watches to be, and it is a shame Wear never got there, because the design of the Huawei Watch was perfect.

Normal folks can barely buy the Pixel as is. It's not nearly as available as other phones, you have to go directly to Google and even then it's a coin toss whether they even sell it in your country or not. I don't think Google particularly wants to sell Pixel's. It's more that they gave up on waiting for android manufacturers to bring their latest stuff like the Assistant to market and resorted to making their own hardware instead, so at least they can show off cool stuff like the appointment-making phone calls and things like VR and AR. As for the market for stock and quick updates, there's plenty of manufacturers now that are doing that outside of Google. You might need to wait a month or two tops for Pie on your phone now, that's manageable (and if it's not, you can get the beta on your phone today).

I sold my iPhone X because it can just easily compete with phones of that quality and price range. Yes, the camera is ever so slightly less good than the Pixel, X and no doubt the S9. Is the Samsung design what their customers want? Is it preferable to have a useless top bezel over a notch that you can optionally "hide" in the settings so you can have appearance of a top bezel, but still have the benefit of having the extra space of the status bar in that place? I don't most customers actually prefer a top bezel, I certainly don't, just extra height on a phone I can do without. Most people that have phones with notches don't seem to be minding them, so I'm not entirely sure that it's the case that people prefer bezels. Better even would be totally bezel-less, but until we're there, a notch solution so you have done extra screenspace for icons, a clock and battery percentage is just fine by me.

Unless we know why Samsung is the sales leader, this doesn't tell us that much about anything. Their marketing is a huge factor. The fact that for many people Samsung is the only phone they will buy, because they think the choice is either Samsung or Apple, or just because it's the devil they know. All contributing factors. If Samsung had two almost identical models, one bezel, one notch, that would be the only realistic way to make a comparison here. But since Samsung buyers can only go bezel, it tells us nothing about that. Notch means winning screen space by eliminating the status bar from the main screen. That's the big pro of having it .

Thread Noise Cancelling Audiophile Bluetooth Headphones?
I have both the MDR-1000Xs (i.e. the almost identical predecessor to the WH-1000XM2) and the Bose QC35IIs. The Sony wins in the sound department. But your preference being less bass, I think the Bose is better for you on that front. The Sony has LDAC, which makes a difference if you are on Android 8.0 or higher, but it really isn’t that huge a difference with AAC. The ANC on either is virtually identical, and while the ambient sound gimmick is nice, in practice I never use it. The hand on cup to let sound through also, you still take off the headphones 99% of the time, if only to not appear rude to others. The Bose has Google Assistant built in. Which is amazing. It reads your notifications, you can ask it a ton of things, you get told who is calling, it is a significantly better experience. Though this is mostly on Android. The Bose allows you to connect two devices simultaneously, which makes life very easy if you have a tablet and a phone, or a laptop with bluetooth. Finally, most importantly, the Bose is significantly more comfortable. The Sony clamps down more, and presses on your ears. I get fatigued within an hour or two, and I have to take them off for a while. Very impractical. The Bose can be worn for hours without discomfort. Also, the Sony creaks alot, so if you intend to wear them while walking or working out, note that this is a thing that will be annoying on quieter tracks, podcasts, or audiobooks. All in all they both have pros and cons, and your use case probably determines which you prefer. For me, it is the Bose because of the comfortability, assistant and the ability to use two devices at once.

It is as I said, there's no device that rivals the Apple Watch in every aspect that device delivers on. If you have ever owned and used both a Wear OS device and an Apple Watch, you would probably understand the difference in level between Wear OS and Apple Watch. I'm hoping Wear OS catches up someday. And no, Bixby is not on Siri's level, and while Siri is not on Google Assistants level (even though Siri Shortcuts is gonna put it back in the game), it does have areas where it outperforms Google Assistant to this day, in particular when it comes to Homekit versus Google Home. But contrary to Wear OS, I have full faith Google will catch up there sooner, rather than later. The Gear S3 comes closest to what I want, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Samsung announces next month, but if I can't get Google Assistant on it, I fear it's a big loss on that.. As well as seeing if Wear OS is getting an update. For fitness, I am good with the Xiaomi Mi Band for now, but ideally I go back to a full smartwatch sooner, rather than later. For instance, I leave my phone on the living room table all the time when I'm at home, I utterly miss the convenience of being able to talk to my watch to control my smart home stuff -especially my hue scenes-, I miss my music and podcast controls (and I mean full controls, not just play/pause/next), I miss not having to get up to fetch my phone to get to my 1Password 2FA codes when I'm behind my computer in my home office. I also miss the sophisticated taps the Apple Watch does on your wrist (especially when compared to the awful buzz that my old Huawei Watch had, jesus that was horrid). To name but a few practical cases. Thing is, as I said, there's good alternatives for just fitness. There's decent alternatives for getting the voice commands. There's alternatives for the controls and apps. But I have not yet found the device that matches the Apple Watch in everything, I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist yet.

First night with the Xiaomi Mi Band 3. It's serviceable. It's great if you take into account it has only cost me 24 Euro on Aliexpress. Apparently I sleep better than 97% of the other Mi Band wearers, surprising since it was like 25 degrees Celsius last night and it's not really been comfortable. All in all just happy to have my stand reminders and notification buzzes on my wrist again. Certainly still missing the Apple Watch though, I simply don't understand why there's not a single alternative to even approach it on Android. There's some that rival it in some areas, but there's not a single one with a proper package. You're either stuck with Bixby, or stuck with low resolution, or you have the fitness watches that have no apps and limited notification capabilities... or you have to go Wear OS with all its flaws and very average fitness capabilities.

Two weeks in on the OnePlus 6 and I'm still very much in love with this phone. It's not without flaws but no phone had ever been. And they're minor at that. I'm missing the wireless charging, but dash charging more than makes up for it. Not being waterproof is a bit of a shame. I'm missing the Apple Watch like crazy. Pocket mode is great since I have my hands in my pocket a lot, but it buzzes every time it activates, which is annoying. Finally, the ambient auto display is crap. It makes the screen too dark and kicks in easy too late, it's unusable. But the speed, the look, the amazing screen, the great mods they did to stock Android. All just pretty much as close to perfection you can get. Amazing work by OnePlus on this one.

This would hold more weight if there had been more crowd working. But it literally only took the word "mosque" and they had the exact reaction they needed. They were obviously expecting to have to do a bit more to get them really going, adding in the Photoshop with the Arabic signs and the part with the Clinton Foundation. But they didn't have to go there at all, all it took in the end was saying the word mosque. I don't think anyone didn't know that the segments were pre-planned though. Unless you were very unfamiliar with Ali G or the movies Cohen did.

This should have been episode 1. Much stronger (outside of the NRA bit from episode 1). Duping the guy into yelling the n-word at the top of his lungs was something else entirely. But the Mosque bit was especially stunning in that he literally only had to say the word "mosque" for the racists to go haywire on him. He was yelling so much dumb shit. Hong Kong (not China, but at least debatable), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Sushi (yep), and indeed "konnichiwa".

Lots of remaster, remakes, or multi-platform titles that also release on the older gen hardware. That's what we got for the PS4/Xbox One launch, and with the current trends of everything having roughly the same (PC-like) architecture, there's no reason to expect a major shift in strategy for the next generation of hardware. It makes sense to not release exclusively for the low userbase of new-gen hardware exclusively, from a publisher perspective, when the efforts to release on old- and new-gen hardware is relatively manageable.

I have to be honest, unless you have the perfect lighting set-up, this really doesn't do that much if its anything like the Hue + Ambilight set-up. I used that maybe twice. The idea of your house colors changing along with the TV is fine, but in practice you just don't notice it (discounting the delay since the lights don't hard switch, but fade from one color to the next), since you're not looking at anything but the TV. It might actually work better with a small TV, to be honest.

I also don't want to misrepresent my feeling. Again, I'm sure they all get inspired by old ideas. Multitasking has been around since the 80s, after all. Not really that much tbh. Yes, of course soc's get better every year, but not to any significant extent. They are still slow and cheap chips that don't come close to the Apple TV or the Shield TV for instance. Again, you can get by perfectly fine with a new, still supported, TV and be fine for a few years. After that, you would still need to be looking at a media box either way.

(10165747)

Thread 4K TVs are so advanced, whats the point of Apple TV 4K?
The soc in your TV is shit. The support in your TV is, or will be within two years, utter shit. Normal people have a TV for a decade or more before they replace it. The Apple TV gets regular updates on both the firmware side, features (like Dolby Atmos) will be added, and most importantly the streaming apps will be regularly updated and new streaming services will be added through the app store as they arise. In two to four years, when the TV is no longer supported and updated, you will not replace it. When the Apple TV is no longer supported, you can replace it for a relative low amount. So yes, the Apple TV is better. No it will not stream in better HDR, but it is better in every way that matters. Whether that is worth the 200 to you or not, is up to you.

Then he picks a date location she doesn't know, and asks her to drive because he can't. Even though he knows she is insecure about driving a strange car. Not only that, but he picks a location an hour away as you said. Of course she's gonna be annoyed from the start. So a while into driving they stop for a bite to eat and she brings up the topic of not wanting to go. She wants to let him down easy so she does it by asking him on a scale of how much he wants to go there, and she tells him she's at a one. She doesn't want to go there. And instead of asking her if she wants to go something else, he forces them to go on. She was giving him all the chances. He could have asked her where she wanted to go, instead. They could have went to a movie, or a mall, or an amusement park. Literally anywhere. There was just no initiative from Yuudai at all, which is par for the course for him, but come on man -read the room.

Thread The Expanse - Season 3 - “It's a Legitimate Salvage”
Pretty convinced that you don't need to worry about this too much. For one, I reckon the Netflix deal is a big part of the budget for this show. That fact also gives it a good chance of continuing even if SyFy passes on more. Think of it like the CW shows, like Crazy Ex-Girfriend and Jane the Virgin or Dynasty and the DC shows. All these shows have okayish ratings at best, some of them have absolutely awful ratings, even for CW. Yet all of them continue to be renewed. Why? Because they are cheap to make for CW and a great investment for Netflix worldwide, giving them new content weekly throughout the year. It works out for everyone involved.

Define better? I mean, the only improvement I can see for a mid-range 2018 set is Dolby Vision HDR sets. As judging by the CES this year, displays are pretty much the same tech as they have been since 2016, sometimes either being the exact same screens, or only having minor changes like a bit of increased brightness. Technically, it's better, but if you can get a 2016 set for a few 100 bucks less you seem to be barely losing out.

Heh, I don't even use the smart remote, I just use the old-fashioned one. But I also don't use anything on the TV except switching sources and occasional settings. Honestly, you're better off investing in an Apple TV or Shield TV. Those built-in apps are just not worth the bother, especially because they're combined with those slow TV CPU's that just aren't good enough to do things properly.

Honestly, you're always better off just getting a Shield TV or Apple TV instead of using a TV manufacturers default options. At least you'll know your apps will get updates straight from the companies themselves. I've yet to own a Smart TV that didn't become obsolete within a few years time. It's getting better, but it's never going to be great. I like Tizen well enough for its general speed compared to my old Philips with Android TV, but it's not perfect yet. It looks okay, but I dislike that I can't angle it as steeply. I have my TV on the side on an angle so I can watch it without getting neck pain while lying down on my couch, but the legs make it so the angle is just not quite there. Which is a shame. A middle stand just makes things easier. I mounted my soundbar on the front of my TV cupboard, so I don't really need the space either.

The other has to be taken outside, while having to scoop said dump up in a thing plastic bag with your hands, at least thrice a day for their entire life, after you spend the first six months to a year cleaning up their business at random locations inside your own home. One cleans itself all day long, the other requires regular cleaning that causes messes that also require cleaning of the cleaning location. One can be left to itself when you need to go out, the other will piss off your neighbor's as it whines until you return. Neurons shmeurons, it is clear which one is smarter. Thread So anti-vaccine people have a new thing called "shedding" they believe in
People tend to have stronger emotional reactions to child-abuse (and animal-abuse to a lesser degree) due to the fragile nature of the subject. So when we see people actively risk children's lives, then yes, having a strong reaction makes perfect sense. As others have pointed out, this anti-logical stance of not vaccinating not only actively harms your own children, they harm other children. Not just because sometimes a vaccination doesn't take, but also because some children for medical reasons can't get vaccinated. Imagine losing a child to a disease that should not even exist anymore, just because some uneducated person refused to get a vaccination. So yeah, this goes way beyond other anti-science stances like flat-earthers or young-earth creationists, and as such gets a harsher response, rightfully so.

Why would this need to be the case? There's plenty to tell outside of this. If you want to stick to the women of the shows, you still have the wife's, the martha's, and I imagine a whole slew of women that aren't part of the Gilead leadership but still live in Gilead. Just because the title is "The Handmaid's Tale" doesn't mean you couldn't tell those stories, as well, that would be a completely unnecessary thing to do just so your title is accurate imo.

This is mostly because "The Netherlands" as it is known today isn't really much older than about three or four centuries, less in some parts. My hometown didn't become a part of The Netherlands until 1814. There are two provinces that have their own official recognised regional languages that aren't derived from Dutch, but are both also Germanic languages: Frisian, and Limburgish (which itself has many dialects). There is a common joke amongst the Dutch that ABN (Algemeen Beschaafd Nederlands, or General Civilized Dutch) isn't actually a thing that exists, every region has it's own accents, sayings and dialect.

Verstappen was side-by-side before the corner, and ahead in the corner, was caught out by the earlier braking McLaren, but avoided him. Passed that two things should have happened that did not, Verstappen should have left a bit more room, but was probably expecting Lewis to yield. And Lewis should have yielded by just taking a bit of that run off area. It was a dick measuring move forward the both of them, that much is clear. A racing incident. I don't see why anyone finds it necessary to point fingers in this case, unless there's an ulterior reason to do so. As for Lewis making comments on immaturity and Verstappen commenting that if the roles were reserved he would expect Lewis to complain, they are both just playing a bit of mind games. Lewis wants to let Max know he is a kid and can't beat the older experienced driver. And Max wants Lewis to know that he'll go for the gap whether Lewis yields or not, his choice. They are playing the game.

Is it though? Every other team has at least half the sponsors on the car than Force India. So that means one of two things. 1. Force India is somehow much better at getting sponsors than other teams, or is somehow much more appealing to sponsor than any other team on the grid. Or 2. Force India is cheaper to advertise on and as such a better choice than sponsoring one of the other teams. And then there's the Mallya factor. A man with a questionable past as far as legitimate business deals go. Has tons of money, and bankrolls the entire team for years. Has his accounts frozen late last year, less than six months later -even though there have been no big shifts in the team income or the sponsors displayed on the car- Force India is suddenly in dire need of money to the point where they'll be bankrupt within a month if they don't find a lifeline. I think in this case, blaming "the sport" for this would not be my default position.

I don't really think it matters if they change the engine after every day or not. Completely inconsequential. In fact, I wouldn't at all be surprised if they change the engine at STR throughout the season every time Honda has an update just for testing purposes. This year is very much about getting an engine by the end of it that is capable of helping RBR challenge for the championship, and I'm pretty sure Marko will happily sacrifice a season for STR to get there.

Not sure what you are basing this on. Both STR drivers have gone on record to say they have no issues with the drivability of the car, their times were competitive enough for rookies in an STR and Gasly done the most keeps out of any driver at the test last week. To top it off, their speed trap times indicate their engine is performing at about Renault level now, but that's not a surprise it you look at the latter part of 2017. Renault meanwhile have gone on record that they will probably sacrifice any engine gains in favor of reliability and will start the season without any improvement in BHP compared to late 2017. After this test I don't see how anyone would be more worried about that Honda engine than they round about Renault's.

It's not exactly the best deal in the world compared to the F1 service, but for those in the UK, Now TV has a £150 deal now that gives you access throughout the season: It is the cheapest option for Sky if you would normally buy a week pass for each race (esp since that price increased last month to 12,99). You still get access to all the channels, not just the F1 channel.

People should watch UFC before they say women are "too frail" for motorsports. It might take a woman more effort to get strong enough for F1 compared to a man, genetically speaking, but I just don't understand why you would dismiss it outright.

So now the goalpost moves from being easily identifiable at a glance to them not having helmets at all? Kids in 10 years can still remember pretty helmets, even though the drivers change the designs once a year and have speciality helmets each year as well.

Yeah, that just makes it worse since afterwards it's all Honda's fault that the first test day went so badly, even though those troubles would have been found and resolved if McLaren didn't have to cancel the shakedown.

Yes, there is a channel on YouTube that uploads pirated content, that does not suddenly make it not pirated content. While I wasn't the mod that took the action, I don't agree that this isn't common sense. You wouldn't post the latest Game of Thrones episode here if it was uploaded on YouTube by GoTinterviews2 either. Either way, let's not derail this thread with a meta-discussion on this. You can always contact the mod team leads if you have a problem with the action taken.

Yeah, it is actually perfectly normal to not send a chassis to the engine manufacturer, since you do not have time to build enough even for own use. That is why you send the design specs. Just like Honda wasn't sending completed engines to McLaren, but instead send them design specs.

They can always change to another solution later, they can't not do a thing because people complain that it is ugly and then explain to the next Wilson or Surtees's parents why their kid is now dead while that could have been avoided by an existing solution they purposely did not implement.

Yeah, I am no VVD voter, but calling Rutte the worst is nowhere near the truth. There is no reason to resort to hyperbole either. You can think his party is bad for the country, but that is about as far as you could reasonably make a case for. Personality wise, this side of him is one I definitely appreciate and what makes him a decent representative around the world. He is not someone that is easily impressed or submissive just because we are considered a small country (although our economical position increases our standing significantly).

It is like I am backing watching Dragon Ball episodes on RealPlayer that were downloaded as fake mp3's through Napster. Artifacts everywhere. Quite the waste of my 55" 4K screen. Is there any other legal streaming option that has One Piece but in proper quality?

I found it somewhat lazy in the modern-day issues. It just replaced token minority with token fantasy creature and calls it a day. Instead of a clever commentary on race relations, it was barely a commentary and certainly not a clever one. It really fell flat on that front, especially when compared to some classic and recent fantasy works that do a way better job at clever commentary on contemporary society.

They took a picture of a VHS tape. Oh no, the horror. My copyright! He literally took a picture, top down, of a VHS tape. If they had taken a bit of artwork. A photo the guy had taken or an image he had masterfully adapted into a promo shot of the show, mweh, fine mate, you have a point. But a photo of a VHS tape? Is that really something you need to be worked up about? He probably can't even claim copyright on it as an original work. He did nothing transformative to the VHS tape and he certainly didn't design or hold the copyright to that.

Finished this today, great adaptation. Enjoyed it a lot. Minami Hamabe did a great job at bringing Yumeko to life, though the same can be said for the entire cast. It wasn't as lewd in it's imagery as the manga and anime, but that is okay. It did well to translate the mistreatment and outright abuse the house pets endure as well as the potrayal of the student council antagonists. I hope this also gets a second season to finish up the arc. Definitely give it a shot if you liked the anime.

I have to say, Die Neue These is really working for me. Pacing is on point and I find this a much easier watch than the original OVA series so far. The characters seem better laid out, their motivations and relationships more clear. Plus I love the CGI work in this, the ships are gorgeous and Iserlohn Fortress as well. Of course it has the advantage of current tech for the latter, but still, enjoying this a lot.

I'm currently binging Code Geass and I was able to watch only the first season on Netflix and had to switch to CR for the second. It makes my eyes bleed. For all the faults the HIDIVE beta apps they have now have, at least their image quality is not as bad.

Not to derail this topic and make it about Apple, but you have the option to not throttle at the cost of battery life in battery settings. It will tell you the overall health. Also, you're eligible for the replacement program: Plus iOS12 is a few months away, and that will be a significant performance boost on older devices like yours. Unfortunately degrading batteries are just a matter of fact on either OS, how they handle it differs.
