GamingThreadThere's an upcoming game on Steam about.. Raping a thief
ReasonUser Banned (2 Weeks): Excusing content that glorifies sexual violence and misogyny.
I think steam's stance is that it allows all types of games now? People are into fantasies like this, and there's not really anything wrong with having a fetish like this assuming everything is consensual. This does seem playful in how it's presented though it would be nice to be explicit about the nature of these types of fantasies and fetishes due to the nature of the steam store.
As for whether it belongs on the steam store is up to valve, and Im unclear of their policies.
GamingThreadRandy Pitchford about review-bombing on Steam: "makes me want to reconsider Gearbox Publishing’s current posture on the platform"
ReasonUser Warned - Antagonizing other members
Yeah I can't agree at all with this bullshit. It's a handful of pissy gamers who want to force a company to do exactly what they want.
You know what a sane way is to make your voice heard but he company? Not buy their games. By attempting to make all of their games look like shit online in kind of a fraudulent way by abusing a system meant for legitimate reviews, you're attempting to make your 'vote' of whether or not to support the company and force it on other people.
Glad that steam is finally, limply, doing something about this shitty behavior. And I'm gonna trigger some people by saying this but it's true, this is the direct result of competition that valve got off it's ass to do something about it.
GamingThreadThe Epic Monopoly - How Epic Store Exclusives are bringing console wars to PC
ReasonUser Warned - Low Effort Driveby
Yeah I really have how I have to spend 300 bucks to get access to the epic store lol
Edit: allow me to expand, because I got flagged for low effort post and I'm not trying to do that, and I don't think my point of view is unclear or invalid. But tinging it with sarcasm definitely didn't help.
I think people are extrapolating far too much from epics behaviors and assuming a lot of worst case scenarios. I think this article is very flawed as it's taking one aspect of epics behavior and assuming many other bad or anti consumer behaviors are coming and just as bad as if they are when they're associated with consoles. That's just wrong.thats what my sarcastic post was supposed to point out, is that it's not a 1:1 playing field. Console exclusives are much more anti consumer than having to download a launcher.
