EtcetEraThreadBrian Laundrie, fiance of missing Woman Gabby Petito, In Hiding (Up: Petito Family Releases Statement)
ReasonUser threadbanned: inflammatory and insensitive commentary
Last time I'm responding because this is all hypothetical crap and no one knows exactly what they'd do when presented with such a situation. Hypothetically, I'd be inclined to believe whatever story my child concocted. I wouldn't exactly be some neutral, unbiased listener. Thus, I'd be predisposed to accept whatever defense the could come up with it unless there was ample proof to contradict them. In any case, I'd likely tell them to turn themselves into the police but if they didn't I wouldn't turn them in, I'd simply tell them to leave.
If they actually admitted to murdering a missing person and told me where the body was, I'd likely give them a few days head start before telling the family. After that, it's up to the police to apprehend them, I want no part in it nor would I answer my child's calls after that.
But again, it's all hypothetical and hopefully will only ever remain hypothetical. If you raised a murderer then you fucked up somewhere.
GamingThreadCDPR seems to be the only one that understands how to provide multiple possible endings to a story.
ReasonUser Banned (2 Weeks): Making stealth Cyberpunk 2077 thread and deliberately bypassing staff instructions
With that out of the way, I want to talk about games (typically RPGs) that tout the fact that their story has multiple endings. This is almost a given for any Western RPG to sell the idea that your "choice has consequences." But in actuality, the "multiple" endings is really just three separate cutscenes (usually not even that different) that play after the same final level that every player experiences. And that's your "multiple" ending, a completely passive cutscene which requires far less effort on the part of the developer than a whole separate gameplay segment.
On the other hand, for two games now (three if you count TW2) CDPR has produced titles which actually have multiple endings, like full on totally separate ending sequences complete with gameplay. In TW3, you don't have any singular choice that provides you with an ending. Rather, the ending you receive is the culmination of several choices throughout the game. But regardless, the ending you get is totally unique than any of the other endings possible. And each ending has a quite lengthy ending quest, including one with a full-on boss fight. This actually really impressed me when the game initially released as that's usually uncommon, especially in the AAA space. The endings are all different and provide about 15-30 minutes of extra content.
Then we get to , now this game is far less RPG than TW3 and your ending result really is just predicated on your big choice before the final mission. Still, despite all that, the game has several completely separate epilogue sequences with their own unique gameplay and varying lengths. You actually feel like the ending you get is unique and not just some copy and paste slideshow with a different voice over.
In comparison, most other games just do not offer this, even if I find them superior overall games. , ,, , , hell even smaller titles like , or . They all just tend to end with slightly different cutscenes or some sort of slide show where the game recaps all the choices you made and their consequences, which TW3 also does AFTER providing you a completely unique epilogue. Outside of CDPR I can think of only games like or David Cage games that provide a similar experience of actually unique epilogues complete with gameplay.
Am I right here? And why aren't more developers following this?
As I said, after enduring Trump I don't care about morals only results. Joe Manhchin could personally call me a nigger to my face and I'd still be unphased if he voted with Dems for progressive legislation when it counts. I don't care for the man. He's not my friend. He votes transphobic. He's misogonystic. He's probably a racist. I don't care as long as his dumbass casts his votes with the rest of the democratic party when it counts. Because unless there is some progressive in WV that can primary his dumbass, an even shittier Republican is waiting in the shadows.
I only care about . I only care about results now. Everything else is a luxury.
EtcetEraThreadVice: Reporters and Activists Are Being Harassed for Saying Kobe Bryant Was Credibly Accused of Rape (Read Staff Posts)
ReasonUser Banned (1 Week): Threadwhining in a Serious Topic
1. Kobe Bryant was never convicted of rape. So, to claim he is definitively a "rapist" is not some fact. While you're entitled to your opinion and while it is a fact he was of rape, it's not an uncontroverted fact that he is a "rapist."
2. Kobe Bryant has spent much of his career since then doing nothing but good works for the public and aiding those within the NBA both on and off the court.
3. NINE PEOPLE died in the crash, including Kobe's little daughter as well as several other children and parents. NINE. PEOPLE. INCLUDING. CHILDREN.
So, maybe RIGHT AFTER THE CRASH WHERE CHILDREN DIED isn't the time for you to grab a microphone and tell "Kobe was a rapist!" Maybe you hold that take until after some people have had time to grieve.
GamingThreadSW: Fallen Order's Protagonist is a guy because of Rey; no alien protag so people aren't "alienated"
ReasonUser Warned: Antagonizing Another User
You know how tends to go overboard in MCU topics? Same thing but with more gifs.
I still can't go over Stig going basically "yeah, the movies had Rey so we needed our PC to standout so we went with a male."
"Standout."It had one. It was just garbage so no one remembers it.

I don't celebrate trash or mediocrity. And, where talking about the film scores, not the movies. is one of the best Marvel movies ever, it's score is uninspired mediocrity though. The same with ,, , , and all the rest. The only original scores that stand out in the whole MCU is and some of . doesn't count as it relies more on licensed music. Oh, and let's not even get into the sound mixing on most of these films, which is also mostly horrible such that you can barely even hear the mediocre scores when they're playing. Again, BP stands out above the rest.
